Hello from the MacBook Pro!

Yes, it finally came and I love it to pieces.  I filmed myself opening the box just in case there was any issues or problmes.  There were none!  I got it turned on and it was already 'setup' with a admin user.  I wanted my own stuff, so I looked at how to do that.  Just go into the command line in the startup.  Since I've used Linux, command line is not a problem!  I got it set up for me and and it's so cool!  I have all the programs on it that I wanted to move over.  The only thing left is PhotoShop Elements and it's installing now.  I'm very happy with this MBP!  It's super fast and all the things that were so slow on my Macbook are not on here.  It's so nice!

So, I did walk today.  The laptop hadn't gotten here before I left, so I decided I should go ahead and walk.  I knew if I didn't walk and it didn't come during the time I could have walked, I would have been so upset!  I walked and was cooling down with a snack on my bed and listening for the FedEx man! lol I didn't hear him, but I got a notification on my phone from an app called Slice that said it had been delivered! I jumped up from the bed and ran to the porch. lol . It was sitting there waiting for me.  I finished my snack and then unboxed it.  Hearing that Mac startup sound was music to my ears.  It's so nice.  I'm in love.

My friend knew it was coming today, but he wanted to go eat.  He said if I could pull myself away from it long enough to eat we'd go. LOL . I told him I could and I did!  I also got him to run me by Food Lion.  Today was the last day of the sale, and I wanted to get some more of my favorite frozen dinners.  They had them for $2.50 and if you buy 5, they take $1 off each.  So I got 10 for fifteen dollars. SCORE!!!!!!  They are so good, they remind me of a restaurant quality pasta dish.

So, he dropped me home and I came right back to the MBP and started installing PSE.  I am going to write letters tonight or tomorrow.  I finally got some stamps today. YAY!  I have so many letters.  I never meant to get this far behind.  Shame on me!

Variety, please!

I went on Amazon and looked at different bands for the Fitbit Charge 2.  I wanted some different colors, especially a blue color.  Well, I found a cool set of them that has 12 bands.  It has black, purple, pink, blue, lime, and more.  There are several different blue colors, two pinks, a red, a grey, a white.  They look pretty cool. They were less than $20 for the entire set.  I wanted to do the $25 order with free shipping, so I went to my wish list and tossed in some washi that was on my wish list.  It's the Molshine brand and they make great washi.  I will get all this for $15, because I have a ten dollar gift card. Yay!

My MBP is now in Kentucky.  It still says estimated delivery on Tuesday.  I hope it gets here before, but at this point, I'm just happy to know it's really on the way!  I also ordered a Fossil wallet on ebay last week.  It's used, but it still looks nice and it was really cheap.  I got it for less than 12 shipped!  The outside is rosy pink and the inside is colorful.  It's pretty.  I'll probably post it when I get it. :p

I walked today and it was so much cooler than it has been and it was amazing.  It was overcast for part of my walk, but sunny for the rest.  It was so nice to walk when I wasn't dying. lol  I didn't even sweat too much.  I wish it could be like this everyday I walk.  Oh well, I'm sure it will get back to normal soon!  I came home and relaxed a bit before doing my workouts.  I did those and my French and then rested a while before having lunch.  I was hoping to get to the post office today.  My friend had said he'd come and try to fix my brakes today, but he didn't.  My other friend 'was busy' so she couldn't carry me to the post office.

Speaking of the post office, I'm SO behind on writing letters. I'm going to have to sit down tomorrow and write letters until my hand falls off. LOL  I'm so behind.   I wanted to go to the post office and get every letter there and then get all my letters caugh up at the same time.  Maybe I'll get there tomorrow.

Good grief!

So, I'm still frustrated about the Fitbit situation.  Then, tonight, I went to do something on the Macbook and Chrome said it wouldn't be updating anymore unless I updated the Mac to a later version of OS X.  Well, when I had that issued the other year, I didn't fully upgrade to where I was before.  I just finished upgrading and then I had to re-download and re-install Chrome just so I could post this!  :P

I am talking to Fitbit support about the Fitbit issues.  I'm working on the Macbook more after posting this.  I want to see if there is anything else that needs updating while I'm at it.  It took almost two hours just to do the first update. Sheesh!

Walking, yes or no.

Well, it was a yes!  It was warm again today and although it was overcast, there was a very minimal chance of rain, so I decided to walk.  It was a pretty good one and I must have been moving pretty fast, because I got back home a bit earlier than I usually do!  I relaxed a few minutes with coffee and then did my workouts.  Those weren't too bad.  After those, I did my French lesson and then relaxed a bit before fixing lunch.  I also washed and dried a load of clothes today, but I haven't gotten those out of the dryer yet!

I decided to go to Target just to walk around for a bit.  I did, but they were so crowded, it got on my nerves so I left!  I had thought about getting Starbucks, but my friend had texted and asked if I'd bring him a shake.  I did that and then I drove around a little more and then headed home.  I watched more Olympic coverage today.  I saw some the the Curling event and I have to say that is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.  How is that even considered a sport?!  So weird!

Anyway!  I did find two true crime books last night on Amazon and loaded them to my Kindle.  One is a book about Ted Bundy that I haven't read.  I am fascinated with Ted Bundy and I've read all the books I could get on him.  The reviews say this one is good.  My favorite will always be The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule.  Not only did she write about him, she actually KNEW him personally.  I loved all her books.  It was sad when she died.  Her writing style was excellent.

I decided to try a different version of Linux on one of my old Win laptops.  The laptop that I was trying to burn the iso to a usb drive was being snarky, so I restarted it and now I'm waiting for 15342432234 updates. ~_~; Stupid windows and their stupid updates.  I wish it would hurry.  At this point, I am probably not going to be installing Linux tonight!  I've always (well mainly) used version of Linux Mint, but I wanted to try something different.  We'll see how it goes!

Monday Madness :p

Not really, though!  I got up and got in my walk at the regular time.  It was cool, but it was sunny so that was nice.  I got in my walk and came home and relaxed a bit and then did my workouts.  I got those done and did my French lesson and then relaxed a bit before washing a ton of dishes.  I fixed lunch and then went to my room for a bit.  I noticed my friend pulling into my driveway.  I didn't know he was coming.  I went to see what was up.  He needed to put brake pads on his car and wanted to do it in my driveway.  My driveway is a lot bigger than his.  He did those and it took a lot longer than he planned.  I went out to help with the last bit.  After he left, I fixed some dinner and now I'm just relaxing watching some episodes of the Flintstones.

I ordered a bag on Amazon and it came today.  It's supposed to be a small messenger bag, but I'm going to use it as a purse.  It's army green colored and canvas.  It has a lot of pockets.  I love having everything organized.  It's pretty cool.  It has pockets in front, a pocket in back, a pocket inside the bag, and  two pockets on each side of the bag.  I like it a lot.  Here are some pictures:

I love all the pockets!  The pictures are of the front, the front flap pulled up, the inside of the big section, and the back.  The back even has a zip pocket!  It's so cute!  I added my Jake the Dog rubber keychain on the main zipper and a little dangle one with starfish on it from the beach.  That little dangle keychain usually gets moved from purse to purse. ^_^

What's in my purse....

So, for something totally different.  Here is my purse and all the stuff inside dumped out.

Exciting, isn't it? LOL!  I have a Finn and Jake pin and a Corgi pin as you can see.  I also have a Myrtle Beach charm keychain and an Adventure Time charm keychain.  The bag itself has Police Line Do Not Cross on it so that is already decorated. :P  The contents are my wallet, earbuds, Starbucks coffee sleeve, pen pouch, lip balm pouch, altoids tin with honey packets in in,  owl case with with reusable shopping bag, black card holder, wet naps, small Altoids tin with bulb that I need to replace in it, and a mini sewing kit.

So, what is in your purse?

Weekend whimsy

So, today has been a regular day.  I got up and did my usual morning things.  Coffee was involved. :p  After breakfast, I started watching more Sailor Moon.  I'm now more than half way through season 1.  I just finished episode 26.  Makoto has arrived and Minako isn't too far behind!  I've been enjoying it.  I even mowed some on the lawn and did my workouts.  I watched an episode of Cold Case Files on Youtube too.  I didn't go anywhere today.  I decided after going out yesterday, I would just spend the day here today.  Plus, I had plenty to watch.  I'm so ready to get to season 2.  Everything really starts rolling then.  I just hope Hulu keeps it on until I can get through all 200 episodes!  I still have all my fansubs, but like I said, the quality on some of them is horrible.  Plus it's VHS! :P

I am going to do my French lesson on Duolingo, and then I think I'll settle in and relax a bit before bedtime.  I think I'll save watching more episodes until tomorrow.  I really need to write pen pal letters.  I planned to do that tonight, but I got so wrapped up in Sailor Moon, I sort of let it slip.  Oops!  Well, I'll try to get them written tomorrow and then get them mailed. I need to check my box for new ones.  I sent myself a post card while at the beach and I sent it to my po box and not my home address, so I should have at least that waiting for me. ^_^

So tired!

So, we finally got out of the room around noon.  We went to Checker's to eat lunch.  I got the Baconzilla. It was GOOD.  For both of us to eat, it was less than twenty and it was delcious.  We left there and hit a few pawn stores that my friend wanted to go to.  We tried to go to the Starbucks on 501, but they were closed because of the impending hurricane.  We went to another pawn shop and then he ran me by Tanger so I could go to the Starbucks there.  I was able to get my cascara latte and a sticker! YAY! :D  They actually had some.  She only gave me one, though.  Phooey! LOL  OH well, it's going on my laptop asap! :D

We left there and went to the mini golf we tried to go to last night.  They had 36 holes for $12 a person so we did that.  That was fun.  I took pictures there, but my phone is charging.  I'll share some pictures later. I'll probably do a big picture post after I get home.  It may be Monday though, because I have a lot to do when I get home tomorrow.  Grocery shopping, laundry, and mowing the lawn.  Unless my friend did it for me while I was gone which I doubt greatly!

Tonight, I'm going to stick around the room.  I'll pack up everything tonight so I'm ready to go tomorrow.  I'll take at least one more beach walk.  Actually, I think I'll take one now and then one after dark. I'll post again later. ^_^  If my phone is charged enough, I'm going walking.  I need beach therapy, NOW!

Monday!

So, I pulled the zero key off my Macbook today and cleaned under it.  It still doesn't work.  If I had some compressed air, I'd try that, but I don't have any at the moment.  I will just continue to use my Mac without the zero key.  If I need it, I have the onscreen keyboard I can pull up or I can use my bluetooth keyboard.

I got my workouts in today and then ran to the recycle center.  My car did okay.  It actually started right up too!  I got my recycling done and headed home.  I fixed lunch and then did a few things I needed to do.  I mowed my front lawn.  Now my entire yard is done.  It was really hot out there.  I was glad to get  it finished.  I wrote pen pal letters and drove my car yet again.  It did okay this time too.  I shouldn't have driven it twice today, but I wanted to get my letters mailed and I really wanted to check my box!  I had four new letters, a postcard from a pen pal, a envelope with two post cards from another pal, and some junk mail. It was great to have letters.  I will get those written in a few days.

I finally got my printer re-connected to my Macbook.  I had some issues with it for a while and it wouldn't work at all.  I had to transfer everything to my Windows laptop to print. I got that fixed today after some work.  I'm glad I got that done.  It's much better to be able to print off of all my computer.  Now if I could just get my Linux laptop to print!

By the way, getting the key back on the Mac was interesting!  The key itself was easy, but there is a little scissor like contraption under it.  That was the hard part.  I got it back together and if I get some compressed air, I won't have to pull up that part. At least I hope not. lol  It was getting ridiculous and then I just pulled up another key and looked to see how the little scissor thing was under that one. That did the trick.  Sometimes it's fun being a geek and sometimes it's just frustrating! :)

In case you wanted to see it, here is a picture of all the mail in my post office box:

Android Nougat!

My phone finally got the Nougat update!  I was so excited when my phone said there was an update.  I was hoping it was the Nougat one and it was!  I really like it so far.  I wish I could change the font on the drop down notifications.  That is the only thing that I would change.  My favorite thing is that it had the actual Android emojis!  I like the little Android blob emojis.  With the Samsung that I took back and the LG G5 that I currently have and love have their own emojis for Android.  That is the one thing that drove me crazy about both phones.  With the Nougat upgrade, I can have my beloved little blobs! :P

I had been using sms apps that let me change them in those apps, but that didn't really do anything for the rest of the phone.  Speaking of SMS. I have been trying out many different ones.  I like several but I don't really love any of them.  Recently I tried Mood SMS.  It's pretty nice, but I want  more customization.  I used GOSMS way back in the day, and I recently re-installed it.  I was able to do offers to get rid of the stupid ads.  I like it, but again, I would like to customize it more!  Someday I'll find the perfect sms app!  I like Hangouts, and Allo is cool, but it can't be used as a default sms. If it could, I would probably use that.

So, Nougat is doing well for me so far.  I really like it.  I wonder what will be next? Oreo, perhaps?
