Wednesday catch up!

Since I didn't post a real post last night and I promised a real one today, I decided to do it early!  I am still very tired today.  I didn't sleep well again last night.  I am hoping to catch up on some tonight, but I probably won't.  Considering that my friend and I are leaving for the beach in the morning.  I never sleep well the night before a trip.  I sleep even less knowing I have to get up earlier than my usual time. :p

So, yesterday I walked, but I didn't do my workouts.  I would have, but there were a lot of moves that would hurt my foot.  My foot still hurts a lot.  Walking is bad, but it isn't as bad as some of the workouts.  I skipped my workouts  I decided since I won't be able to do any until I get back, I'm just skipping them until Monday.  I plan to eat and enjoy everything possible this weekend, because Monday, I plan to finally get on track!  I want to reach my goal weight!  Since I'll be at the beach this weekend, I plan to enjoy the food. :p

I washed clothes last night and packed my suitcase.  My clothes are all ready, but my other suitcase is still empty. I carry two small suitcases to the beach.  One has my clothes, the other has my electronics, notebooks, bujo, etc.  I also carry my messenager bag, but I carry it up front in the car with me.  I carry my phone, wallet, trip journal, and other things in it.  I also carry a Starbucks tumbler for coffee!  I picked one of of my more recent ones that I haven't used much.

I was thinking of leaving the laptop at home, but I got some electrical tape and was able to fix the cord.  It's not a permanent fix, but it is working fine at the moment.  I had some other tape on it and I could hear it sparking.  I put the electrical tape on and it's not sparking and it is charging well. ^_^  I really want to be able to use my Macbook!  I have to do nice blog posts at the beach, right?

Today I walked and it was sunny and in the seventies!  Yesterday it was around fifty.  I was able to walk in short sleeves today.  That was weird.  I am ready for this same weather but with an ocean view.  I hope to take a lot of pictures and you know I'll share some after I get home.  I'll also try to share one a day while there.  I plan to get to the Starbucks at North Myrtle.  I have three free drinks on there and I got my notification today that I'm gold for another year.  I already knew that. :p It's nice to see it though. :D

I have such a weird tan line from winter walking!  I wear a pair of long fitness capris so I have a nice tan on my calves but from half way up and past my knee, I have none. LOL  It looks so weird and makes me self conscious.  I plan to get some just above the knee shorts to wear on my walks.  I hope to get grey ones as all the black ones I've worn in the past all get bleached out from the sun.  Grey ones would too, but it wouldn't be so noticeable. I have never tanned in my life until I started walking!  It's so weird.

Ah, I think I totally made up for that short post last night.  I was just so tired.  I am also currently reading a true crime book by Ann Rule that I hadn't read before.  It's so good!  I am carrying my Kindle with me to the beach, and I will probably finish it there.  I'm also still reading the book on coffee.

Macbook chargers

I am on the third charger since I got this Macbook in 2010!  This one is now acting up and I'm going to have to replace it, too.  At the moment, I was able to get it to charge, but I don't know how long that is going to last.  It's crazy that I've had to buy so many chargers.  They really need to make them better!  I'd like to just get a brand new Macbook, but I don't have the money.  I don't have the money at the moment for a charger either.  UGH!

I noticed earlier that even though it was plugged in, it was not charging.  I wasn't able to get it to charge.  I worked on it and finally got it to charge.  I'm not sure if it will work for long, but I'm hoping it will hang on until I can get a new charger.  I really want a new Macbook! :(  If I thought it would work, I'd start a GoFundMe to get funds to get a Macbook!  I really, really need one.  When the Mac wouldn't charge, I tried to use both the Windows laptop and the Linux one.  They both just made me want to use my Mac!

In other news, I got in a good walk today.  It was warmer, but not really warm.  It was mostly sunny though, so that was nice.  I came home from my walk and relaxed a bit before doing my workouts.  I got those done and did my French.  My friend wanted to go eat today, so I went with him.  We went to one of our favorite local restaurants.  I had some delicious coffee.  Afterwards, I came home and called a friend.  She was outside walking the dog, so I walked up to see the pooch.  She is a miniature  Doxie and she is adorable!  I also needed to return a dish to them.  I tried my best to talk her into taking me to Starbucks, but it was a no go.  Phooey on her!

I did go myself a bit later.  I thought about getting one of the limited time Frappuccinos, but I ended up with a blonde flat white.  I've wanted to try a flat white for some time.  It was pretty good.  I usually like some flavor with my latte type drinks.  I probably would get this again, but I'd much rather have a flavored latte.  Still, it wasn't bad and the calorie count is only140 for a tall.  Not bad!  I still miss my cascara syrup. ;_;

5 cups and not enough!

I've had five cups of coffee today and it still doesn't feel like enough! It's been a really long day.  I got up today and looked out and it was overcast.  The street was wet where it had rained earlier. I was hoping that the rain would hold off for me while I walked, but that was just wishful thinking! It rained for my entire walk.  Phooey!  I hate to walk and have to hold an umbrella.  It always makes my back ache.  I got home and I was so glad to get here. It not only was raining, but it was pretty cool out there too. I think it was upper 40's or mid 50's.  I got home and had to take off my clothes.  My jacket, my shirt and my workout capris were wet. I changed into warm and dry clothes and had some coffee!

I did my workouts, it was ab day.  I was really tempted to skip them today because I was so out of sorts because of the weather, but I didn't.  I did them and then had a few minutes to relax a bit before fixing lunch.  I did that and was going to start NaNo. I ended up watching an episode of Unsolved Mysteries on Hulu!  They added more of the original episodes.  After that, I fell into the rabbit hole that is "Not Always Right"  I also did my French.  I finally said, okay, time to Nano and sat down to write.  Yesterday after I posted here, I ended up with 1856 words.  Tonight I wrote 2116!  I could write more, but I'm at a good point to stop for now.  I downloaded Schrivener as a trial.  If you win NaNo, you can get it for 50% off after NaNo.  I downloaded the manual for it as a pdf and sent it to my Kindle.  I want to see if I like it and if I can figure out how to use it.  If I like it, I might purchase it after Nano.

I had seriously thought about going to Starbucks today.  As you know, Wednesday was always my day to go.  With it being so icky outside, I just decided to stay here.  I may go tomorrow or later this weekend depending on the weather.  Who knows?  I wanted to go and see if they have the new holiday gift cards out so I can add to my collection. I found a set of the 2016 ones on ebay and ordered those yesterday.  I hope our Starbucks has a complete set.  I wish I had known all these years that you didn't have to load them to collect them!

Anyway!  I have rambled on enough. I am going to figure out what I want for dinner after this.  I have everything else that I had on my to do list in my bullet journal done for today.  I have the rest of the evening to do anything I want. I'll probably end up either reading or watching more Unsolved Mysteries! :p

Almost 9000

Yes, I have almost 9000 words for NanoWriMo so far.  I might write more today, I'm not sure yet. I decided to take a break for a bit.  I hit 1879 for today and I had 1856 yesterday.  I would have had more yesterday, but I was interrupted by a friend's phone call.  I was at a good count, so I stopped.  I can't believe I'm so close to 10,000 words!  It's flowing easily.  The story to me seems a bit boring though.  I don't know.  It might not be that bad.  I'm just very critical of it.   Oh well!

I had a cup of coffee during my writing session.  The Seattle's best coffee is GOOD.  I really like it a lot.  I will definitely buy it again!  It felt funny putting it in my Starbucks tumbler. :P  Shh!  Anyway, it was delicious.  I would like to try more varieties of their coffees.

I got in my walk today.  It was overcast and chilly for the entire walk, but it didn't rain at all.  I was glad about that!  It's such a pain to walk carrying an umbrella!  I came home from my walk and relaxed a little bit, I then did my workouts and had lunch.  I watched Friday's episode of Deadly Women while I still have PS Vue.  I will only have a for a few more days, so I wanted to watch that.  After that went off, I made my coffee and settled in with the Macbook  I am writing in a program called Bean.  It's what I used last year for Nano too.  It's a good little program and it's free!  I like it.

After I post this, I might get out my Kindle and read for a bit.  I am not sure yet.  I don't need to write anymore today, but I still might do that.  It's really early yet, so who know?  I do know I'm probably going to take a bath and soak in their a bit.  We turn our clocks back here tonight so I'll get an extra hour of sleep.  That is always good, but the time change always screws up my sleep schedule!  Let's hope it isn't too bad.

November means NaNoWriMo!

I am off to a roaring start on Nano, too!  I already have 2600 words written!  Yeah, I got on a roll.  I had my coffee, my Macbook, and my iPod playing Classical music.  I might stop now and just continue on tomorrow.  I think I've gotten a good start.  I may cut the first part out and put it in after the part I've written.  I think the book would start off better with that at a later point.  I may just cut it and work it in after the part I've written.  I just introduced two new character and I'm happy with them already.  I guess I should take a break.  I'm already over my projected words for the day.  It's good to start out strong.  I'm going to edit what I have to see if I want to cut the first part out and redo it or just add it towards the end of what I've written.  I can't decide if I want to leave it the way it is.

I have a major plot line planned for things that are going to happen in this book.  I have a character that is going to come in and cause all kind of problems.  I'm not sure how quickly to introduce him though.  We'll see.  Plus, I still haven't picked out his name yet! LOL!  I have a background for him, I just don't know what to call him yet.  Okay, I'm going to see if I need to rearrange that first part and then go update my first word count for this years NaNo! :D

By the way, I did my walk and workouts today as usual.  It was nice out there.  One of the places I walk is on a sidewalk through a nice neighborhood.  I saw a lot of candy wrappers from last night's trick or treating!  Same on these kids for tossing their litter down.  I DID find three things of wrapped candy that some kids dropped.  I check out the packaging, no holes, so I ate it. :p  I also found a little set of cute pumpkin stickers that some one had dropped.  Yay for cute stickers! :)

Sailor Moon, Starbucks, and stuff....

So, I rode with a friend of mine to Greensboro today for her doctor's appointment.  Her son went too.  He has been watching Sailor Moon and it made me want to re-watch it.  I saw that it was on Hulu, so I have started over from the beginning.  The quality is so good.  I'm an old time fan from the fan sub days.  The quality of some of those tapes was SO BAD.  This is such a treat being able to watch it like this!  I am up to the episode before Ami-chan shows up.  I'm waiting on Rei because she is and always has been my favorite.  I'm enjoying watching it.  I had to figure out how to make the subtitles show on Hulu, but I did and now I'm good!

As for Starbucks, my friend who had to go to Greensboro asked me yesterday if I'd go.  I said yes, if I got to go to a Starbucks. LOL  I went to one I've been to before but it's been a long time.  I will be able to add it to my tracker.  They also had stickers!  The barista give me eight of them. :D  These are a lot smaller than the one I got at the beach and they are clear around the Siren.  I put four on my Macbook. :P  I'll use the others for bullet journalling.  Speaking of my bujo, I didn't get around to making my beach trip page last night.  I think I'm going to wait until I get some ink for my printer so I can put some of the pictures I took on my trip in there.  I think that would be cool.

While in Greensboro, we went to P.F. Chang's for lunch.  I had an email that had, 'buy one entree, get one free' so we did that.  I was broke, so that was the only way I could have eaten.  Well, she was going to get my lunch for going with her, but I told her about the deal I had to save her some money. ^_^ I told her since I saved her money on lunch she should have bought my Starbucks! LOL!

It was a full day.  I came home and watched some Night Court and then I looked for Sailor Moon and found it on Hulu.  They have all 200 episodes. I just hope they don't take them off before I can re-watch the entire show.  It's been a lot of years since I've seen it all.  It's still good, but there are some things that annoy me.  They translate Mamo saying "bun head" instead of "dumpling head".  Dumpling head just sounds better! LOL  Other than that, it's been great.  I know the translations are going to be different as the ones I watched were all fan done.  The quality of the episodes makes up for it.  After I finish the original Sailor Moon, I'll watch Crystal!

BTW, here is a picture of my Macbook with all it's goodies!

Early mornings at the beach!

So, I'm up.  I actually slept okay last night. Not great, but a lot better than the last two nights!  I had a hard time getting comfortable on the bed.  I hate beds away from home. I finally did get to sleep.  I got woken up a few times throughout the night, but luckily, I was able to go right back to sleep.  I know I was really tired!

I went out on the balcony to take a picture to share.  I'll share more in other posts as I'm more awake and with it. lol  I'm not sure what I'm doing today.  I might be walking to the Pavilion area, or I may save it for another day.  Since it's a holiday, I'll probably hold off on that! :P

Here is a picture I took of the beach this morning 20170904_094506

A gorgeous day here!  I will tell you how tired I was this morning.  OH! Back story! LOL  So, I find that the room has coffee makers.  Great!  I also see no coffee.  Umm... so, I go ask at the desk.  They don't provide coffee.  WHAT?????  If you know me, that won't do!  I look up groceries stores nearby on Google maps.  I see that there is a Food Lion one mile away.  My friend that drove all the way down here doesn't want to drive back out.  In fact, he was going to order us pizza for dinner!  So, I told him what I wanted and said I'd walk to the Food Lion.  I got there and got some of these Maxwell House things that are already in a filter.  I figured if there were any I didn't use, I'd just tear open the filters and put it in with my coffee at home.  I use a re-usable filter with my Keurig, so I just usually buy ground coffee at home.  So,, I walked two miles round trip just to get coffee! LOL!  The pizza arrived while I was on the way back, but it was still warm when I got here.  I crashed with it on the balcony and ate a few slices.  I then waited a bit ot have more. I wanted them all then, but I was so hot.

So, that is the backstory of the coffee! So, this morning, I get ready to make coffee!  I had filled it with water last night so that would be ready to go.  I turn it on and nothing happens.  Me:????  OH! I helps if you plug it in! :P  I do that and it starts going and I realize that it's clear.  Yes, I forgot to put the filter pack in. LOL  I had to turn it off, waiti until it finished a few drips and refill with water and put the filter in.  I finally have my coffee now so I should be okay for a while! :D Since I had to walk all that way to Food Lion to get coffee, I grabbed a bottle of that one touch latte while I was in there.  It makes it so yum!

I may post again tonight about my day.  We'll see.  I'm not even sure what I'm doing yet.  I want to get out my bullet journal and work on it a bit.  I'm not sure when my friend will wake up  He may want to go have breakfast.  We ate at a place on our last day here in June and it has a really good breakfast buffet..  It's Lenny's Country Kitchen.  I told him that we needed to go early so we could see Carl and Homer, too! :p

D'oh

I opened the tab on Chrome to post this and then went and did something else.  I guess I'll post now!  I did my workouts at the usual time today.  No Starbucks trip today.  I am trying to wait until at least the weekend. lol  I had a good lunch and I have already done my French lesson. I want to make a Starbucks tracker in my bujo. I want to track stores visited. I have decided to do it like this:

Store  |  Location  |  Something here

I can't decide what to include in the third area.  I had a suggestion to include what I orders, any special things that happened, how they spelled my name. lol I just can't decide what I want that last bit to be.  As soon as I figure it out, I'll be making the spread.  I already have the page marked for it.  I think it's going to be pretty neat!

In other news, I am waiting on a package from Amazon.  I ordered it on July 31st and I waited for days for it to ship.  It finally did and now I'm just waiting on it.  It still says it won't be here until Thursday.  Ten days to get a package is too long! :(  Makes me sad.  I had a $25 gift card and I got a passport size traveler's notebook, a set of purple washi tapes, and a pen.  I got the pen to make it $25 so I could get free shipping. lol  I guess I should have gone with paid shipping and maybe I'd have it by now!  I hate waiting on packages.  It's that stupid UPS - USPS shipping too.  I wish they could just sent it one or the other.  Oh well, it's in Roanoke now.  Hopefully it will be in Danville tonight and they'll transfer it to the post office early enough so I'll get it tomorrow.  I can hope!

Monday!

So, I pulled the zero key off my Macbook today and cleaned under it.  It still doesn't work.  If I had some compressed air, I'd try that, but I don't have any at the moment.  I will just continue to use my Mac without the zero key.  If I need it, I have the onscreen keyboard I can pull up or I can use my bluetooth keyboard.

I got my workouts in today and then ran to the recycle center.  My car did okay.  It actually started right up too!  I got my recycling done and headed home.  I fixed lunch and then did a few things I needed to do.  I mowed my front lawn.  Now my entire yard is done.  It was really hot out there.  I was glad to get  it finished.  I wrote pen pal letters and drove my car yet again.  It did okay this time too.  I shouldn't have driven it twice today, but I wanted to get my letters mailed and I really wanted to check my box!  I had four new letters, a postcard from a pen pal, a envelope with two post cards from another pal, and some junk mail. It was great to have letters.  I will get those written in a few days.

I finally got my printer re-connected to my Macbook.  I had some issues with it for a while and it wouldn't work at all.  I had to transfer everything to my Windows laptop to print. I got that fixed today after some work.  I'm glad I got that done.  It's much better to be able to print off of all my computer.  Now if I could just get my Linux laptop to print!

By the way, getting the key back on the Mac was interesting!  The key itself was easy, but there is a little scissor like contraption under it.  That was the hard part.  I got it back together and if I get some compressed air, I won't have to pull up that part. At least I hope not. lol  It was getting ridiculous and then I just pulled up another key and looked to see how the little scissor thing was under that one. That did the trick.  Sometimes it's fun being a geek and sometimes it's just frustrating! :)

In case you wanted to see it, here is a picture of all the mail in my post office box:

Car troubles on a Sunday....

Well, technically I've been having car troubles for over two years now.  They are just worse today.  I had to run to the grocery store to pick up a few items that I needed.  It took awhile, but I finally got my car to start.  It's acting up worse than usual, so it didn't want to drive down to the grocery store. I got it there, though.  I debated on leaving it running, but I was afraid it would overheat. I turned it off and went in and got my groceries.  In line, I was freaking out beaause my keys weren't in my purse.  I thought I was going to have to call a friend to come get me, carry me home to get my spare keys and come back.  Scratch that.  The spare key was in my car as I had thought about leaving it running!  Luckily for me, I put my keys in the hand basket I was using so I was able to check out and got out to my car with no issues.  It started up fine and I was able to get home with no issues.  I was so happy!  I need to sit down and write pen pal lettters as I'm behind because of my beach trip.  I hope to get those done today and somehow get to the post office tomorrow to mail them and check my box for any new ones.  I might type up this batch.  I hate to send typed letters, but sometimes it's the easiest when I'm so behind!  Plus, I want to get them done so I can get them out. :)

OH! I have been using my Macbook since the beach trip and I noticed that my zero key doesn't work. Luckily there is a work around.  I can pull up an on screen keyboard and get it that way. Thank you Google! :D

One more thing.  Did I mention that I got BACON at the store? I love me some bacon.  Bacon is life, bacon is good. lol
