Olympics Feed

Sunday was lazy!

Well, the day wasn't, but I was!  I didn't walk today.  I decided to give my foot a break.  It's still bothering me, but it's not as bad.  I figured missing a day of walking wouldn't hurt.  I didn't skip anything else though.  I got in my workouts, I washed my bed linen, (although I haven't put it back on the bed yet), and I washed my hair.  I feel bad about not walking, but my steps for the week won't suffer.  I try to get a minimum of 15,000 a day.  The two days I got in two walks, I hit 25,000 both of those days, so I won't be missing out on anything step wise this week!

So, last night I was installing a variation of Linux on my laptop.  I liked the version I installed, but there were things about it I didn't like.  I went back and looked again.  I've always used different variations of Ubuntu.  I figured, why not install Ubuntu itself for a change.  I did and I love it.  I'm actually posting my blog post today on my laptop that has Ubuntu loaded on it. ^_^

I'm currently posting this and watching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.  I can't believe it's almost over.  It's been fun watching every night.  I'm going to miss it.

Skipping days.

Yesterday was pretty much skipped all around!  I didn't walk, I didn't do my workouts, and I didn't post to my blog!  What did I do?  Well, I laid in bed part of it.  I read, I relaxed, and just did nothing.  I have been feeling run down and like I am trying to get sick, so I decided that yesterday I'd just skip my walk and workouts and just rest.  I feel better today.  I am not 100%, but I do feel better.  The only thing that I usually do everyday, my French lesson, is the only thing I did!

I was going to post in my blog, but then I figured, I give it a day off too.  Today, I walked and it was sunny.  The first time it's been sunny and nice all day in ages.  It was cold and rainy yesterday, so not walking was not a big disappointment!  Today it got up around sixty and it was so nice!

I came home from my walk and did a few things before getting in my workouts and doing my French lesson.  After that, I had a few minutes to relax before I was off to fix lunch.  I had lunch and then watched the Olympics for a few minutes before going to wash my hair.  I dried it and then ran to the post office to mail off the shoes I received yesterday.  They were extremely uncomfortable.  As much as they cost, I couldn't see keeping them!  I'll buy something else next month.  In the meantime, I found an old pair of shoes a friend gave me.  I tried them on and they felt better than my worn out pair and much better than the new pair!  I tend to hit hard on the ball of my foot and my heel.  That is where my shoes wear out the quickest.  The ball of my foot has been giving me a LOT of trouble lately, so I needed new shoes.

I have gotten everything done that I needed to do today except  but the bed linen back on my bed.  It's in the dryer, so when it's done, I'll do that and then I'm going to settle in and watch more of the Olympics.  Ice Dancing is on tonight!

OH!  When I went to the post office to mail the shoes back, I checked my box and I had three letters from pen pals. Yay! Now I have four to write this week.  It's nice to have some.  They have been slow in coming lately!

Posting between events!

Yes, I'm watching the Olympics again.  I figured I'd post between events.  I've seen the Super G and now it's the men's figure skating.  Everyone has done well so far.  Nathan Chen really made come back.  I hope he medals!  His short program had so many issues, but he really did great in the long program.  Six quads landed!  Whoo! It was great!

Okay, they just announced that the lady that they thought had won the Super G is actually in second place!  Another skier beat her by a tiny margin.  I guess we'll see if she hangs on to the lead, but I'm thinking she will.  This has been a good Olympics!

I checked my weather app today before walking as I always do and it said there would be no rain until at least 2 or after.  They lied! LOL  It started raining on me not very long after my turn around point.  I had to hold my umbrella for most of the walk home.  I was not really happy about that, but what could I do?  I got home and was a bit damp, but not too badly.  I had a snack and relaxed a while.  It was stretch day so it always takes a lot less time to do workouts on Friday.  I did those and then was going to fix lunch, but my friend said we'd go eat.  We went to Westside diner which is a local place that is really good.  I had breakfast food and coffee.  They had some damn good coffee! I even got a cup to go! :p

I'm not sure what the weather is supposed to be like tomorrow.  I heard possible rain, but that doesn't mean it will.  I hope it won't.  If it's really rainy, I may just skip tomorrow's walk.  I hate to do that, but it really hurts my back to walk while holding an umbrella and I'm having some feet issues.  My shoes are worn out and the ball of my left foot is giving me a lot of problems.  I have ordered a new pair of shoes but they won't be here until tomorrow.  I'm hoping they will help.  I've never tried this brand for walking, so I hope I like them.  They are Sketchers.  I have only had one pair before that were just regular sneakers and I didn't like those.  I'm hoping I like these.  They look like they'd be really comfy and they had great reviews.  I just hope I like them!

What a day!

So, I woke up today to warm weather!  The high today was 72!  It was really nice.  The sun even came out for a bit.  It's been so cloudy and overcast for so long.  It was nice to see the sun.  I got in a nice walk and came home and relaxed a bit before doing my workouts.  I got those done and then did my French lesson and had a few minutes to relax before fixing lunch.  After lunch, I was just hanging out and then I thought about going to Starbucks.  I wanted to go, but I didn't want to get there and not have a place to sit.  I decided that I'd go and if there was nowhere to sit, I'd get a drink and bring it home with me.

I got there and one of the little tables was free!!!!  I put my messenger bag down to hold that table and went to get in line.  I got my cascara latte, a venti!  I also got two new gift cards that I didn't have.  They were just putting them out! I had my pen pal letters with me.  I wrote to all my pen pals and drank my latte.  While I was writing, I noticed that the couple that has the Corgi.  I had to go see him.  I got lots of Corgi kisses!!!!!! He is such a sweet pup.  The pair are regulars like myself.  I was telling her about this being my fourth time coming and trying to get a place to sit.  She said they'd been having the same issues.  I really wish the place was bigger.  We both miss the old location.

I stayed at Starbucks after I finished my letters for a bit and then headed out.  I went by the post office to check my box.  I couldn't mail my letters as I didn't take any envelopes or stamps with me.  I'll mail them on tomorrow's walk.  I only had one letter at my box.  I'm totally caught up except for the new one that just came.  I have the names of two potential pals and I'm going to write a couple of  small intro letters to sent to them with my 'new pal' letter.  I'll do that and then I'll read and play more Pocket Camp.  I'm watching the Olympics again.  More Skeleton tonight.  This stuff is nuts!  The male figure skaters are on tonight too.

Well then!

I walked and worked out at the regular times today.  I really wanted to go to Starbucks today, but I never got over there!  I was a bit hesitant since the last several times I've gone, I haven't been able to find a seat.  I knew if I went and couldn't find a seat, I'd be pissed, so I just stayed at home!

I am now on book five of the Zombie series I'm reading.  I am loving that all the books were available on Kindle Unlimited!  I finished book four today and started book five.  The books are really good and they are quick reads.  I am really loving this series!  It's the Killing The Dead series by Richard Murray.  I'm really enjoying it.  This author likes to leave books on cliff hangers! I'm glad I'm able to borrow them all from Kindle.  I'll read these and then look for more books to try on my Kindle Unlimited trial.  As fast as I'm reading these, I'm definitely going to get my trial's worth!

I'm watching the Olympics again.  I'm waiting on the Pairs free skate, but I'm enjoying the other events  That skeleton event is CRAZY! LOL  It's scary just watching.  How in the hell do they steer with their arms back?!  Yikes!
