Stretching Feed

Friday fun!

So, I did not want to walk today but I did.  It was overcast and the street was wet, but there was no rain.  Well, until I looked out the window right before I was leaving the house.  Guess what? RAIN!  AH!  I was not pleased, but I went ahead and got myself together and went.  It had stopped raining. Yay!  I walked most of the walk before it began raining.  It only rained on me about the last mile so that wasn't too bad.  It was sort of muggy and gross, but I made it home!  I didn't feel like doing my workouts right then even though it's stretch day, so I sat and relaxed for a bit.

My friend texted and asked if I wanted to ride with him a few places and we'd eat.  I said that sounded great as I was not in the mood to fix lunch!  He picked me up and we ate at a local restaurant that we haven't eaten at in a while.  They had hash brown casserole. YAY!  We ate and then went to the Goodwill.  I found a pair of shorts, a pretty sweater type shirt (brand new with the tags still on it!), a cute coffee mug with a fox on it and some sheet protectors.  My friend was nice and bought my stuff.  Oh and I had seen a Domo-kun t-shirt that I liked and he bought it for me too! Yay!  We left there and went to the other Goodwill in our city.  I only found one item there.. It's a lanyard that is made of recycled soda bottles and it's got Coca Cola on it.  I love Coke things and I love recycled things and it was only fifty cents. :D

After we left there, we headed home and he dropped me off.  I came in and put my things away.  I did a few things I needed to do around here.  I just finished my workouts a few minutes ago and my French lesson.  OH! I forgot one thing.  At the first Goodwill, I found a French learning book.  That was pretty cool and I thought it would be a nice addition to my growing French learning!

While we were on Riverside Drive at the restaurant, my friend said one of his friends posted a picture of part of Riverside under water.  As we were checking out, the guy at the register said that part of Riverside was closed due to flooding. I looked later and they had to actually bring a flat bed truck in at one spot to rescue the people in one of the businesses from the flash flooding.  Wow!  I heard it's all gone down now, but I bet the Riverwalk trail is under water in some parts.

The trail we go to in Martinsville flooded some too.  I saw a picture of one of the areas we have parked at to go on the trail completely under water.  Yikes!  It is supposed to rain here tomorrow, but I don't think it's supposed to be as heavy as it was today.  I hope it holds off until after I walk.  I was quite happy today that none of the really heavy rain came until after I got home!

I feel bad for the people who go to the Festival in the Park.  We have it every year in May. It started today and runs through Sunday.  Hopefully the people will get a respite from the rain before it's over.  Oh! One other thing,  the beach trip is NOT I repeat NOT cancelled. ^________________________^  Things worked out and we are going. YAY!!!! Of course, I'll carry the Macbook with me and post everyday!  I hope to create another photo album after this trip.

Thrifting and walking and food, oh my!

So, I got in my regular walk today. I stopped at CVS and got a book of stamps before heading home.  I didn't do my workouts after I got home as usual.  Instead, I went to the grocery store.  I spent more than I planned, but I got a lot of goodies.  I came home and put those away.  My friend wanted to eat and walk again!  I was surprised because he was pretty tired last night. :p

We rode to Eden NC to a trail over there.  First we ate at a little pizza place called Stella's pizza. It was quite good.  They are really just take out/delivery, but they had one booth inside and we ate in.  It was some damn good pizza!  After that, we headed to Goodwill so we wouldn't miss it before they closed.  I found a brand new pack of Staedler colored pencils for .49!  I also found a restaurant notebook, some assorted stationery, and a few other things.  The notebook is cool. You can keep track of restaurants you visit.  The stationery was some envelopes, some cute little cards and various other things.  Perfect for a pen pal person!  I also found a Fossil brand black leather purse. It's so nice and I paid a whole 1.49 for it! Yes, ONE DOLLAR and forty nine cents! WHOO!  I love a good bargain.  I also go a vintage candle trimmer thing.  You use it on the bottom of a candle so it will fit in a candle holder.  I also got a nice new wallet with the $35 price tag will on it for $2.  And, I found a Weight Watchers kit.  It's got two books on the point system and a little journal.  It's pretty cool.  Those things are really expensive brand new and I didn't have to join WW! LOL

All in all, it was a good trip to Goodwill.  After that, we went to the trail.  Almost this time last year, a tornado went through that trail and there was a lot of damage to trees.  They have a plaque about it.  The trail was re-directed at one point from the original trail!  We got through walking and headed back.

I got home and did my workouts. It was stretch day and it felt so good to stretch!  I am now going to relax until bed time as I'm extremely tired.  I need to catch up my receipts from today in my checkbook and see how much damage I did! :P  OH! I also received in the mail today my very first coffee grinder.  I got some whole bean coffee at the grocery store.  I am still working on making the perfect cup.  I made my first cup tonight and it was pretty good, but I want to experiment and see what I can come up with.  The grinder is easy to use and makes the kitchen smell good!

Friday again...

Yes, it's Friday again.  I went for my walk today.  It was warm again and pretty nice.  The only bad thing was the wind.  It was blowing pretty fiercely again!  I got home and then had quite a while to relax before my workouts.  I did those, did my French, and then got ready to fix some lunch.  I did so and then pondered if I wanted to go to Starbucks.  I did want to go, but I didn't feel like going either!  I ended up not going.

Later, I did run to the post office.  I had two letters and considered going to Starbucks while I was out, but I didn't.  If they would just bring back the cascara syrup. I miss it so much. It was my favorite thing at Starbucks ever. ;_;  I still can't believe they discontinued it... again!

So, no Starbucks for me today from Starbucks, but I did have several cups of Pike Place roast at home.  I don't think I mentioned that one night last week, I wanted to check out a local convenience store to see what coffees they offered.  I went in and they had Cinnabon coffee.  They had little cups for samples so I tried it. I had tried something similar one year when we were leaving the beach.  This tasted like that did, so I got a 20oz cup and filled it up.  I looked EVERYWHERE for a lid and there were none!  I finally just had to put a soft drink cup lid over it until I could check out.  The lady said the lids were over next to the coffee, but they were not! I got it home, somehow, and I had some Starbucks venti/grande lids.  That fit so I put it on and enjoyed my coffee.  The coffee was pretty tasty, but it was so awkward trying to carry it and not spill it!  Sheesh!

Since I know they have other varieties, I'll go and try those on another occasion and I'll be sure to carry a lid with me just in case. :p  OH!  LOL Speaking of coffee, my friend and I went to Martinsville a few weeks ago. I mentioned this in a previous blog post.  I mentioned that after we ate, I got us both McDonald's macchiatos.  Well, I also told you that they were sort of bleh.  While we were driving home, she mentioned that they needed some more milk or something.

I piped up and said, "I have creamer and honey in my purse!"  She cracked up.  I told her I loved coffee and always wanted to be prepared! LOL!  I have the honey packets in an Altoids tin and the creamers, they are powdered ones, in a little random mint tin.  I don't really use sweetener in my coffee anymore, but they are there if I need them!  I even have a little straw in there as a stirrer!  Yes, I love my coffee. :p  If I had the right container, I'd carry some of the little creamer cups! LOL!

Anyway!  Now that I've proven I'm a total nut job, I'll end this post for now.  I want to play some Pocket Camp and read more on my coffee book.  Mmmm, coffee!

Morning Starbucks!

So, we are under a severe wind advisory until tomorrow at about 11 am.  When I first woke up this morning, the power was out.  It was still out when I actually got up.  No power means my Keurig won't work.  OH NO!!!!!!!  I needed a boost, and I waited awhile and still no power.  I dressed and went to Starbucks!  I had a free drink on my card, so I got a venti blonde vanilla latte.  Delicious.  Not as good as my beloved Cascara, but it was good.  I also got a multigrain bagel for my breakfast.  It was a good breakfast.

I came back home and noticed a utility worker in the neighborhood working on the pole.  I was home a little while and then the power came back.  Yay!  I am hoping it doesn't go out again, but the wind is still crazy, so it might.  The wind was so powerful that when I was driving back from Starbucks, my car actually MOVED to the right a bit.  I decided that even though the sky was  clear and beautiful, I was not walking today!  Too many chances to get hit my falling tree branches or flying debris.  I hate to miss a walk on a pretty day like that, but I'd rather be safe!

I just had my afternoon coffee.  The cup I usually have after getting home from my walk.  I am going to do my workouts at some point.  Not sure exactly when.  It's stretch day, so they don't take as long as there are less of them.  I am sitting at my desk looking out my window as I'm posting.  My neighbors wind chimes are going nuts across the street.  I bet it sounds pretty nice out there.  I bet my own wind chimes are moving around on my porch too.

Yeah, this post is all over the place. lol  Sorry.  I woke up tired and with a headache, so I'm seriously considering taking a quick nap!  I probably won't be able to sleep though.  Plus, if I get in a good nap, I won't sleep well tonight.  I guess I'll just watch more episodes of Forensic Factor on Hulu.  I'm almost done with the episodes they have.

Friday feelings....

I got up today and noticed it was overcast.  The street was wet so it had rained at least a little.  I seriously thought about not walking today and just taking the day off.  I got up and walked anyway!  I'm glad I did.  There was no rain.  I may take a day off tomorrow, though.  My foot is still giving me issues, and I figured a day off wouldn't hurt.  I could lay around and read and play Pocket Camp all day. :p  We'll see!

So, I came home from my walk and relaxed a bit before doing my workouts.  It's stretch day so that is always good.  It's also painful! LOL!  After doing my workouts, I did my French lesson and then was about to fix lunch.  My friend texted me and said we were eating at 5.  I didn't know this, but I figured, why not. :P  We ate at one of our favorite local restaurants.  I had 3 1/2 cups of coffee with lunch.  They have such good coffee! Yum!  I had baked ham, creamed potatoes, and corn pudding.  They have really good corn pudding!  My friend needed to go to Walmart.  I don't shop there at all, but I told him I wouldn't mind waiting in the car.  I had my Kindle with me so I wasn't bored.  He brought me home and I took a bath and then fixed dinner. I'm watching the Olympics again.  Sunday is the closing ceremonies. What will I watch next week?! lol

After I post this, I'm going to Amazon to see if I can find more good true crime books to borrow with Kindle Unlimited.  I finished the one I was reading just a bit ago.  Hopefully I'll be able to find something good!

Posting between events!

Yes, I'm watching the Olympics again.  I figured I'd post between events.  I've seen the Super G and now it's the men's figure skating.  Everyone has done well so far.  Nathan Chen really made come back.  I hope he medals!  His short program had so many issues, but he really did great in the long program.  Six quads landed!  Whoo! It was great!

Okay, they just announced that the lady that they thought had won the Super G is actually in second place!  Another skier beat her by a tiny margin.  I guess we'll see if she hangs on to the lead, but I'm thinking she will.  This has been a good Olympics!

I checked my weather app today before walking as I always do and it said there would be no rain until at least 2 or after.  They lied! LOL  It started raining on me not very long after my turn around point.  I had to hold my umbrella for most of the walk home.  I was not really happy about that, but what could I do?  I got home and was a bit damp, but not too badly.  I had a snack and relaxed a while.  It was stretch day so it always takes a lot less time to do workouts on Friday.  I did those and then was going to fix lunch, but my friend said we'd go eat.  We went to Westside diner which is a local place that is really good.  I had breakfast food and coffee.  They had some damn good coffee! I even got a cup to go! :p

I'm not sure what the weather is supposed to be like tomorrow.  I heard possible rain, but that doesn't mean it will.  I hope it won't.  If it's really rainy, I may just skip tomorrow's walk.  I hate to do that, but it really hurts my back to walk while holding an umbrella and I'm having some feet issues.  My shoes are worn out and the ball of my left foot is giving me a lot of problems.  I have ordered a new pair of shoes but they won't be here until tomorrow.  I'm hoping they will help.  I've never tried this brand for walking, so I hope I like them.  They are Sketchers.  I have only had one pair before that were just regular sneakers and I didn't like those.  I'm hoping I like these.  They look like they'd be really comfy and they had great reviews.  I just hope I like them!

Friday fun

So, I walked today.  It was overcast and rainy when I got up, but when I went to walk, the sun came out!  It started to cloud up a bit while I walked, but it never rained on me.  I came home and was in relaxing for a while when it started to rain a lot and hard!  I was glad I missed all that!  I was going to do my workouts but a friend had said we'd go eat, so I put them off.

He finally came and we went to a local restaurant that we like.  We ate and then he dropped me home.  I came in and checked my bank account to see if I had enough to get my hair cut.  I did, so I went to the mall.  I got my hair cut finally and it looks so much better.  It was really getting on my nerves before.  It's short in back and longer in front just like I like it.  I bet I lost five pounds just from hair! LOL!  I left there and went by Starbucks.  It is right there at the mall! :P

So, I didn't get my beloved Cascara latte.  I wanted to try the new Blonde espresso.  I got a blonde vanilla latte and it was amazing!  I used to get vanilla lattes and would had a lot a caramel to them.  I didn't have to add anything to this.  I'm really liking the blonde espresso.  It's good.  I say that the blonde espresso is good.  Give it a try!

I came home from the mall and washed my hair.  I always have to wash my hair after getting a cut.  I did that and then did my workouts.  I have yet to eat dinner.  Oops.  I usually have lunch at 4 and dinner at 8 or 9.  I ate a little later than usual for lunch, so I'm not too far off on dinner.  I'm going to fix that after I finish typing this up.  I've already done my French lesson and the French guide I bought from Amazon came today.  It will be a help in my learning the language.  With just me glancing in it, I see some things I didn't know why were done and now I get it.  Cool!  It has a workbook feel to it with lessons and quizzes.  I am going to enjoy using it.

Dodge had a good time, too.

I am working on NaNo for today and I only have 631 words so far. I'm so not feeling it today.  I ate something that didn't agree with me earlier and I don't even feel like drinking coffee at the moment!  Serious business, people!  I hope to at least write enough to get to 1667 for the day.  I am just not in the mood to write, I think.

I got in my walk and it was cooler today than it was yesterday but it was still pretty decent.  I came home and did my workouts.  It was stretch day and those are always nice.  I just wish I could get into splits!  I've been trying for such a long time.  I'm just going to have to do some kind of stretching everyday.  Maybe I can start doing that bedtime stretch routine of Cassey's that I used to do.  That or just get out my mat and stretch some everyday.

I guess I better get back to NaNo.  I started Strange Weather by Joe Hill last night and it's really good so far.  After that, I am not sure what will be next.  I finished listening to Cell on today's walk and started on Full Dark No Stars.  I love that one a lot!

Reading with coffee is life!

So last night, I went to the ebook section of my library on the laptop.   I wanted to see if I could get Stephen King's new book with his son Owen. I was also looking for the new Joe Hill book. (King's other son)  I found The Fireman available.  It's been out a while and I haven't read it yet.  I checked it out and then put a hold on Sleeping Beauties and Strange Weather.  It said I was on the wait list. One of them even said I was number 16 of 16 waiting.  Today, I get an email saying that both my books are available!  Weird.  So, I went ahead and sent them to my Kindle.  I'm almost midway through The Fireman. It's good so far.  It drew me in right away last night.  So much so that I was late going to bed! :P  After I finish it, I'll read Sleeping Beauties and then Strange Weather.  I still can't get over how they were both not available last night and now they are on my Kindle.  Weird!  Oh well!

I got in a bit of a longer walk today.  That was pretty nice.  I came home and relaxed a bit and then my workouts. It was stretch day on the calendar and it was much needed.  I love stretching.  I should start adding one of my her stretch videos to my regular workouts everyday.  I used to do one each night, but for some reason, I got out of the habit.  Maybe I should get back into that habit!

Right now, though, I'm going to fix a cup of coffee and grab my Kindle. I want to read more of The Fireman.  I also need to write some notes for Nano.  I can't believe that it's less than a week away!  I'm still wavering between last years books continuation or something entirely different.

Back on track, today!

Yes, everything was normal today.  I did my usual routine and it was nice!  I decided to get a walk in, too! I went about 5 and walked to the post office and then back home.  It got dark a lot quicker than I had planned!  It was almost complete dark when I got back to the house.  I will have to either go earlier or not go as far from now on.  It's only going to get worse when the time change happens!  Oh well, at least I got in a nice walk.

I wanted to share a picture I took as I was heading home. I thought the sky was beautiful.  Here is the picture I took:

Of course it was much prettier in person!  I also have a picture of my Nano Bujo word count tracker page:

Last year, I had a printable on the right and I wrote my characters on the left.   I'm going to do the same this year.  I'll put my characters that are already there, and then I'll have a spot to add any new ones that I put in book two. ^_^

In case you were wondering about last night, yes, I did my workouts!
