Zombies Feed

Thrifting and walking and food, oh my!

So, I got in my regular walk today. I stopped at CVS and got a book of stamps before heading home.  I didn't do my workouts after I got home as usual.  Instead, I went to the grocery store.  I spent more than I planned, but I got a lot of goodies.  I came home and put those away.  My friend wanted to eat and walk again!  I was surprised because he was pretty tired last night. :p

We rode to Eden NC to a trail over there.  First we ate at a little pizza place called Stella's pizza. It was quite good.  They are really just take out/delivery, but they had one booth inside and we ate in.  It was some damn good pizza!  After that, we headed to Goodwill so we wouldn't miss it before they closed.  I found a brand new pack of Staedler colored pencils for .49!  I also found a restaurant notebook, some assorted stationery, and a few other things.  The notebook is cool. You can keep track of restaurants you visit.  The stationery was some envelopes, some cute little cards and various other things.  Perfect for a pen pal person!  I also found a Fossil brand black leather purse. It's so nice and I paid a whole 1.49 for it! Yes, ONE DOLLAR and forty nine cents! WHOO!  I love a good bargain.  I also got a vintage candle trimmer thing.  You use it on the bottom of a candle so it will fit in a candle holder.  I also got a nice new wallet with the $35 price tag still on it for $2.  And, I found a Weight Watchers kit.  It's got two books on the point system and a little journal.  It's pretty cool.  Those things are really expensive brand new and I didn't have to join WW! LOL

All in all, it was a good trip to Goodwill.  After that, we went to the trail.  Almost this time last year, a tornado went through that trail and there was a lot of damage to trees.  They have a plaque about it.  The trail was re-directed at one point from the original trail!  We got through walking and headed back.

I got home and did my workouts. It was stretch day and it felt so good to stretch!  I am now going to relax until bed time as I'm extremely tired.  I need to catch up my receipts from today in my checkbook and see how much damage I did! :P  OH! I also received in the mail today my very first coffee grinder.  I got some whole bean coffee at the grocery store.  I am still working on making the perfect cup.  I made my first cup tonight and it was pretty good, but I want to experiment and see what I can come up with.  The grinder is easy to use and makes the kitchen smell good!

Phooey!

So, I finished book two of the zombie series today and was hoping to get the next one.  Sadly it isn't available for Prime users, but it is under the Kindle unlimited. I am seriously thinking of giving the Kindle unlimited a trial.  I have not been thrilled with Prime.  The shipping has been bad and there are not a lot of books to choose from.

I walked today even though it was overcast and had rained.  It rained a bit during my walk, but it wasn't too bad.  I only had to use the umbrella for a bit.  I got home and did my workouts.  I had lunch and then I read the rest of the book.  It was good and had a cliff hanger ending, so I really want to read the rest of the series!  I went to the library to see if they had it as a ebook to borrow, but alas, no.  I did find two books that looked interesting and I've borrowed those.  One is about the Borden murders.  As in Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother.  I think that will be a good read. I am going to check in with Pocket Camp and then start on my new book.  I think the weather is supposed to be clear tomorrow or at least no rain.  Yay!  It makes walking so much easier.

Starbucks time denied!

So, I decided to load up my messenger bag and go to Starbucks this afternoon.  I wanted to work on pen pal letters and spend the afternoon relaxing in Starbucks.  I got there and they were completely full.  There was no where for me to sit! :(  I got my cascara latte and a multi grain bagel and left.  I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to staying quite a while.  I came home and crashed on my sofa and I have been here ever since.

I finished the zombie book I was reading and found the second one in the series was a free to borrow on on Amazon Prime.  I downloaded it to my Kindle, but I haven't started it yet.  I got in my walk today.  It was overcast and a bit drizzly at times.  It didn't really rain though so that was okay.  I did get damp and I had to use my umbrella a bit, but it wasn't too bad.  I came home and relaxed a bit.  I planned to do m workouts at the usual time but then didn't.  I will do those later.

I packed up and headed to Starbucks, but like I said, there was no where for me to sit.  I miss the old location.  There was more seating there.  I like the new locations drive thru and how nice it is, but it's just not big enough.  They really need more seating.

I created my habit tracker in bujo for February.  I am doing color themes for the months this year.  January's theme was blue, February's is going to be pink.  I have my habit tracker done and I plan to put something on the other page, I just am not sure what.  Probably a February calendar.

I need to be thinking about what I'm going to fix for dinner.  So far, I have no idea what I want!  I'll eat dinner and then do my workouts.  I'll only have to put my bed linen back on my bed and I'll have everything I needed to do done for today.  I took a bath earlier and washed my hair, so that is done.  I also already did my French lesson.  I just need to finish this post and then put the linens back on the bed.  Oh, and do my workouts!  Those won't be bad as it's arm day.  Those are usually not too bad!

Here we go again! :P

I created a new banner today that I really like  It has Starbucks on it, so how could I not like it!? :p  I also changed the colors and the background.  The banner will stay, I'm not sure about the colors at background just yet.  We'll see.

As for today, I got in my walk, I came home and relaxed a little bit and then did my workouts.  After those, I had lunch.  Since then I've been pretty lazy.  I took a bath, I read, I watched TV... well, shows on the Roku.  I've already done my French lesson, so after I post this, I'm probably just going to get in my bed with the Kindle. I finished the true crime book last night and started a zombie book.  So far, so good.  I also want to play some more Pocket Camp.  It's just so cute!

I also drank a lot of coffee today! :p

Brrrr

It was around 70 the other day, today, it was below freezing.  Phooey!  It was pretty chilly when I walked today.   It took a while before I got warmed up.  I almost gave up and turned around and came back!  I didn't though and got my walk in.  I didn't do my workouts after I got home as I usually do.  I spend some time relaxing before lunch.  I ate and then read a while on the current book on my Kindle.  I have more lined up ready to go!  This one is the Jekyll Revelation and it's really good.  I'm enjoying it.  I'm over have way done with it now.  After I finish it, I am going to read Gwendy's Button Box and then a true crime book I just got yesterday.  After that, I have several zombie books and other things on my Kindle so I'm full up on things to read.  I'm on Goodreads if you want to see what I'm reading at any time.  The link is in the sidebar.  I didn't read much in '17 and I plan to make up for that this year!

I did do my workouts this evening.  I got them done a bit ago.  My bed linen is in the dryer waiting for me to put it back on the bed.  I only have one more thing to do after that and then I'm going to relax with my Kindle and I'm also going to play more Pocket Camp.  I haven't played as much today as usual, so I want to get some playing in.

Books galore!

So, while we are talking about books, what else do I read besides zombie stuff?  Well, I've been reading Stephen King since I was young and I love his works.  His son Joe Hill has some great works too.  My favorite book of all time is actually The Stand by Sai King.  I also love the Dark Tower books.  In fact, I've read all of his fiction books that have been published as of this point.  There are only a few I didn't really care for.  My favorites are The Stand, Cell, The Dark Tower books, and Salem's Lot.

I also love true crime books.  Some of my favorite true crime authors include, Ann Rule, M. William Phelps, Diane Fanning, Jerry Bledsoe, and Aphrodite Jones.  I love both e-books and paper books.  I am not a fan of audio books except when walking.  When I'm walking, I like to listen to books to pass the time.

My house is full of books.  I was introduced to reading at a young age.  In fact, when I was younger, my favorite store was a book store instead of the toy store.  There used to be a book store here in town called, "The First Edition Book Shop"  It was my favorite store ever! As you can tell, I like books, I like reading, and yes, I write too. :)

Zombie fiction

I have to admit, I love reading a good zombie book.  The other day, a friend of mine asked me if I had read The Forest of Hands and Teeth.  I hadn't, so I went to look at my local library to see if it was available to download via their e-book site.  It was and I downloaded it to my Kindle.  The night I got it, I read 70% of it and finished the rest of it last night.  It was pretty decent.  Not enough zombie action though.  I have read so many books in this genre.

My favorite triology was by Mira Grant.  The first book was Feed.  This was some GREAT zombie fiction.  I've also read all of the Lanherne Chronicles, all of the Zombie Games books, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  There are many more that I can't think of at the moment.  In any case, I love a good zombie novel.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
