My friend got me a pump for my basement that is supposed to come on when the water gets a certain depth. I haven't been down there in a while so I didn't know how much there was. It was deep. He turned on the pump and we kept it on for several hours. I would have left it going, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow and since it was so deep to begin with, he couldn't go down there to plug it in. It's plugged into an extension cord and into an outside outlet. I went down before I unplugged it for the night and there is still a LOT of water down there. It's crazy!
Hopefully once we get this water out and this thing is installed, I won't have this problem anymore. That is the hope! It's now been almost 2 months since I had hot water and it's getting very old. I got in a decent walk today. It rained again last night, so the ground was wet in some places and there were some puddles on the sidewalk. All this rain is nuts.
I came home and got some things done and then my friend came to install the pump. After he left, I went to get gas and then went to the grocery store. I knew I would be in the store awhile as I was getting most of this month's groceries. I didn't leave it running because I was afraid it would overheat.
Luckily I was able to get it to start right away. I didn't go anywhere else. I didn't want to risk it. I am glad that I was able to get some groceries. I was out of just about everything! Most of the stuff I got was on sale too. Only a few things weren't. I also got a set of cute snowman face cups discounted from the holiday stuff. I love snowmen and I can always use more coffee cups. :p
