All in One! (Happy Leap Day!)

I opened the puzzle I got yesterday while thrifting and worked it today. The whole thing!  It was only 300 pieces and it had huge pieces.  I couldn't get the pieces on the board all at the same time because of the puzzle's size and the pieces. I worked in sections until I got the last of the pieces on the board.  At that point, I kept going along and finished it! It's very pretty.  I wish it was 'plain' like the other Thomas Kincade puzzles I worked.  This one has a verse on it. It isn't too noticeable, but I'd rather just have the picture. There were brighter colors on this one than the other ones I'd worked so it wasn't as hard to do.  I enjoyed working it and the big pieces were fun although they were shaped weird and fit weird, but that makes it more challenging.

I was playing with Evernote and Journey today.  I was wondering if there were a way to link the two.  I think I can, but I need to upgrade my plan with Journey and I might do that as it's not too much annually.  I love the app and I use it on all my different devices.  I have it on my Android, my iPad Mini, my MacBookPro, and my Linux computers! Just like Evernote. I have it everywhere too! :)

Friday, food, and thrifting!

My friend and I haven't gone to eat in a while, so today he said we'd go eat.  We ate and then he asked if I would like to go to Goodwill.  I did, but I'm down to $1 in my checking account! I asked if I found some things could he spot me and he agreed so we went. I was able to get a puzzle, a jack o' lantern mug, a little solid jack o' lantern, a package of jack o lantern paper cups, and three packages of envelopes. It was a good haul.  I always need envelopes with pen pals. I like to get ones that aren't just plain white, so these were cool.  One set is white with a red ribbon, one is red with strips and polka dots on the flap, and the other pack has blue envelopes.  I only picked up one and then I went and picked up the other and then I just said, what the hell and got all three! LOL!  I organized all my envelopes by size in the box I have them in and I added these to them. I also worked last night making a little divider system for stationery.  This way I can store more stationery in the little pen pal container and they are neat and organized, too!  I just need to put tabs on them so I can grab whatever I need easily.

So, here is the puzzle I finished today and my small haul from thrifting.  The puzzle was fun.  It wasn't too bad near the end, but it did take me a bit to finish.  I like the picture. I'm either going to do the door one I mentioned before tomorrow or I'll do the one I got today. It's really pretty.

I'm sitting here debating on whether to go to Starbucks tonight or not.  I was thinking about it, but I can't make up my mind.  I might just stay at home.  Who knows?  I'd like a cascara latte, but I am not in the mood to get dressed and go out. Yes, I'm being a lazy bone today.

I did get a new puzzle started though.  It's been fun so far and I've been working along on it. I finally stopped so I would have about half to do tomorrow.  It's a nice break from the insanity of the last puzzle. lol   It's going to be another pretty one.  Here it is so far:

Pretty but ...

The puzzle is finished and it's very pretty, but whoo boy, the last of it was intense.  I was so happy to get it finished let me tell you! Those last 25 pieces or so took a lot longer than they should have, but I got it done and it's complete.  Yes, all the pieces were there. Yay!  Look at this beautiful piece:

I love all the colors in this one.  The next one is pretty busy too, it's another picture from Italy. It's buildings and boats, but I think it will be easier than this one! I don't mind a challenge when it comes to puzzles.  That makes them more interesting.

So, I have a bed that has rails around the top.  It can be used for a canopy but I haven't done that.  What I have done is put a string of purple Christmas lights around it.  They look good and they are great when I'm having a really bad headache. I'll turn every light in my room off but those.  It's soothing and I love it.  Sadly, my lights messed up last night.  Half the strand worked, half didn't.  I worked on it but nothing worked so I took them down.  I worked on it today and still no luck, so I was thinking I'd get another strand online.  If it were anywhere from September through early January, I am sure I could have bought some in stores, but it's February. I looked online to see and found some, but I was reluctant to order any.  Plus I'm low on funds!

So, I decided I would see if I could find another strand to use.  I have five newer blue strands that I use on my tree each year. I could use one of those and then buy a new strand next year for the tree, but I didn't want to do that.  I remembered since I used all blue lights, I might have an old strand of multi-color ones.  I went for the search and I found an old strand of blue lights.  They still worked.  I hadn't used them on the tree because they are an older strand and the blue doesn't match the newer strands, so I had just stored these.  They work perfectly and I now have lights around the top of my bed. ^_^

All the standing on my bed and wrapping and re-wrapping the lights around the poles took a while.  I am a perfectionist and the first 3942048392 times they didn't looks right or there was too much leftover.  I finally got them the way I wanted them.  Whew! I was roasting and tired after that.  I'm just now cooled off and starting to get a bit cool again.

I started a new puzzle today and it's a lot of bouquets of flowers.  It's going pretty well actually! I got a good deal of it done and decided to stop at the point I was at for the day. I'll be able to finish it tomorrow. It's going to be a really pretty one.  After it, I have one last puzzle from the twelve I got earlier this month.  I will do that and then the Puzzlebug one I got while thrifting. It's got colorful doors on it. I love puzzles like that. It will be fun to do!

Monday funday!

Well, sort of! It was overcast today and it was drizzling when I was out earlier but it wasn't too bad.  I got my puzzle finished today and I was sitting here thinking I'd love to go to Starbucks and get a latte.  I also wanted a birthday cake pop!  I went over and got both.  My cascara latte was delicious as always and the cake pop was amazing, too!  Nice combination.  Yum.

A funny thing happened after I finished the puzzle today.  I usually tape them together after working with them.  Today I didn't do it right away and when I came in my room with my lunch, I went to grab the puzzle and put it on my desk until I could put it where I keep them.  Well... I hadn't taped it.  Oops! Luckily, I only messed up a small corner so it was a  quick fix.  I'm glad I realized what I was doing before I messed the whole thing up!

Sunday busy Sunday

Whew.  I got a lot accomplished today.  I put away a huge load of clothes that I washed last night.  I washed some dishes. I'm trying to do them as I go so I don't have a sink full again!  I washed my hair and I washed my bed linen.  It's back on the bed and now I just want to get in there and go to sleep!

I also went emptied the trash and carried it out to the can.  While I was outside, I got up a lot of branches and carried them to the street.  I've been meaning to do it for weeks now, and I keep forgetting.  They pick up yard stuff on Monday so I try to put the stuff out as close to that as possible so I don't have a huge pile of brush in my yard for a week.  It was in the low 60's today and it was nice out there.  It was the perfect weather to get some yard work done.  It was a lovely day.

In the house, I started a new puzzle. It's a crazy jumble of colorful musical toys.  I didn't get as far as I would like today, but I certainly got more than I thought I would!  After this, I only have two puzzles left from my Dollar Tree trip earlier this month.  I still have some thrift puzzle finds. One is the Puzzlebug brand one and it's sealed.  Puzzlebug is the brand of the stack of them I'm working on now. They are good quality and stay together pretty well.

Oh boy!

So, I had to wash a load of clothes today and realized that I was almost out of detergent. That isn't bad for today because I had enough to wash this load, but tomorrow is bed linen day so I had to get some detergent! I went to buy the same brand as last time as I got it for an excellent price at Dollar General, but sadly they were out.  I found another brand for a little more.  I have only a few brands that I can use due to the smells.  Sometimes I have bought some that smelled fine until I used it and then I had to re-wash the clothes in something else, so I'm very careful when buying any detergent.

While I was out and it was dinner time, I decided to be naughty and go to Arby's. It was delicious and I shouldn't have done it, but it was sooooo good.  I came home and devoured that.  Their food is expensive, but it is so good.  Plus, a burger combo would be as much or more and the sandwiches at Arby's are better.  I'm a beef and cheddar fan.  I get it just the way it is except I get a regular bun.  I can't eat the onion one.  Well, I can, but my body doesn't like it. LOL!

I finished my puzzle today.  It was intense to finish like I thought it would be, but it was fun.  It's a pretty puzzle.  I enjoyed working it.  Here is the completed puzzle:

It's another one of those days where it doesn't feel like the day it is. LOL The snow was mostly gone today when I got up. I knew it would be like that, but it was still disappointing.  There is still some left in shady areas, but as soon as it warms up, it will be gone too.  It was so pretty while it lasted.

I drove down to the post office today and mailed a huge stack of mail.  After mailing it, I checked my box.  I got a letter from a friend, a new potential penpal, and some junk mail.  The potential new pal is iffy. It's a guy, and I have several male penpals, so that isn't an issue.  The verbiage of his letter is troubling.  When a guy describes himself and says he hopes we become 'good friends' sends warning bells off in my head.  I post in my pen pal ads that I am looking for friends ONLY but guys seem to overlook that.  The few guys I do write are cool and we are good friends and they know I am not interested in all the junk! LOL!

While I was out, I ran by the grocery store and picked up a few things I needed and they were busy as hell! I was lucky and they opened another register and I followed another lady over to it.  She had a buggy full and I had three items and she told me to go ahead.  That was nice!  I was joking with her and the cashier that with how busy they were I was scared they were calling for snow again!

I started a new puzzle today and it's pretty. It's going to be intense tomorrow.  I got the sky, tree line, and the water finished, but now I have to do the boats and the buildings.  It's very busy and colorful.  I'm enjoying working it though.

Before I share the picture of the puzzle progress, I'd like to do an update on "What I'm Using Evernote for Today."  Well, I made a simple tracker in Evernote to keep track of all of my Fossil bags!  I have three columns, the bag, where purchased, and notes.  I can keep track of my bags easily this way and it's a great reference.  I know I've said it before but I love my Evernote!

Snow is so nice!

It did snow today! It snowed for several hours and it never covered the streets, but it did coat the houses, cars, and yards.  It was lovely and I enjoyed sitting in my window watching it fall.  At first, I didn't think it was going to stick at all, but after about an hour, I noticed that the ground started looking white.  It started sticking. Yay!  I took a bunch of pictures and I uploaded a few to share.  It was so nice to sit and watch the snow.  I didn't just sit idly while I was watching the snow!  I got my pen pal letters caught up!  It took forever and I mean, forever, but I got them done.  I will head out tomorrow to mail them off and check my box.  I am pretty sure I only have one letter there now.  It's from an unknown person so it could be a new penpal inquiry.  We'll see when I check my box.

After it started to get dark, I finally closed the window and started work on my puzzle.  I finished it right before fixing dinner. It's a pretty puzzle and it was fun to do although it did get a bit intense in spots.  It's a picture of a location in the Czech Republic.  It's buildings along a road and has some body of water in it. Very pretty!  Here are the snow pictures and the picture of the completed puzzle.

Not the most exciting snow pictures, but at least I was able to get some before winter is done. It will all be gone tomorrow I'm sure.

Possible snow tomorrow?

Yes, we might actually get some snow tomorrow! It isn't supposed to amount to much, but I hope we do get some. We have only had a few flurries here and there all winter.  I would like to at least see one nice snowfall this winter.

I am glad I got the items I needed at the grocery store the other day. Why? Because people lose their minds here when snow is mentioned.   Even though it's not even supposed to be an inch, people still go nuts.  I am so glad I didn't need to go to the store!

I wash a ton of dishes to wash and I finally got them done today. I'm so glad to have that done! OMG I had so many of them.  I had so many that I had to double stack them on the two dish drainer trays I have.  Yeah, I should have washed earlier, but there you go!

I started a new puzzle today and so far it's pretty neat.  I did it a little differently this time.  Instead of doing the sky or buildings, I went with the bushes and trees.  I got a good deal done too.  Check it out:

Not again!

So, I finished my puzzle today and guess what? A piece is missing1 That is two puzzles in a row.  These are both brand new sealed puzzles, too!  AHHH!  I knew it would happen eventually since I've had some with extra pieces.  I am hoping that this current puzzles piece is just lying in the floor and it's not really missing completely.  We'll see if I find it.  I hope I find it!  It's a pretty neat puzzle, too.

It was fun to work.  It was called 'harvest pie'.  These Puzzlebug puzzles are pretty nice.  I have to do a little trick to flip them, but I haven't had one fall apart in a while, so I'm doing something right!

It really is Monday now!

So, it is Monday.  Since yesterday felt like Monday all day, it should be Tuesday. lol   I went to the grocery store and picked up a few things I needed to finish out the month.  I got those and headed back home. My car did fine both times, so that is good.  I have some good things to eat, too!

I started a new puzzle today after I got home from the store.  I got a lot more done of it than I planned.  I just kept working on it.  I finally just put it away so I can finish it tomorrow.  I finished my latest read last night and started a new one this evening.  I found it via the library. It's decent so far.  It had good reviews and was compared to some other books I've read so we'll see how it goes.

Feels like Monday

It has felt like it should be Monday all day.  I don't know why, but it has.  I had to keep reminding myself that it was, in fact, Sunday!  I have my bed linen in the washer.  It would be in the dryer right now, but when I went to get it out, it didn't spin all the water out.  It hasn't done this in ages so I was not expecting it! I sent it to a drain and spin cycle and I'm waiting on that to finish so I can toss it in the dryer.

I noticed all this when I went to start my pot of water to heat up so I could wash my hair.  I am so glad I got a haircut.  It makes washing my hair so much easier.  Less hair means less shampoo to rinse out!  Also, my hair gets wet enough to use the shampoo.  I am now sitting under the hair bonnet dryer drying my hair.  Feels nice under here!  After I finish up, I am going to relax and decide what I'm going to do for dinner.  I am trying to decide if I want something here or if I want to go get something.  I'm also contemplating going to Starbucks!

I finished my current puzzle today. I never did see the missing corner piece, so I just did a fix.  In the picture I took, it's hard to even tell a piece is missing. In person, it's a bit more obvious but not as bad as if there was nothing in that spot at all. It's the top left corner if you are curious:

Pretty good fix, eh? I thought so!  It's such s pretty puzzle, I hate that it's missing a piece.  I do have a piece that I could put in there but it's dark blue and it's obvious that it doesn't go.  This is a less subtle fix.  I can live with it.

I am currently reading another zombie book. It's not the best ever, but it's not bad. It's a series and I don't know if I'll look into any of the other books or not.  I am right beyond the half way point so I'll be looking for a new read soon.  I have some on my Kindle that I have never read, so I'll check through there first.  I have books that I found for free on Amazon years ago.  I loaded them to my Kindle and for some reason or the other forgot them.  Some of the ones I've currently read are like this.  The current one included!  I have debated on re-joining Kindle unlimited.  I wish it was included in Amazon Prime.  That would be amazing.  There are some books you can borrow with Prime, but it's just not a lot of stuff I would want to read.  I have been enjoying the first reads each month.  Picking a book from a shortlist of them has been nice and I've found a few I enjoyed.  Those you actually get to keep instead of just borrowing them.

My library has ebooks you can borrow, but a lot of it isn't anything I'm interested in.  If I find a book online that sounds good, I'll check my library's ebook sight and most times they don't have it.  That is frustrating.  I am going to start looking into some new authors and seeing if I can find some to try that I might like.

By the way, I just wanted to share something before I close.  When I finish a puzzle, I flip them over and tape them together on the back.  This way I can keep the completed puzzle.  Today when I flipped this one, I started taping and then moved my hand the wrong way and let me tell you.  The metal cutting surface on packing tape is SHARP and it will cut you. As many times as I've used packing tape this is the first and only time it's gotten me.  Lesson well learned.  That won't happen again. :P

Another thrift trip!

We did a repeat of last Saturday and went thrifting again.  I didn't get a lot of stuff this time, but I did get some goodies!  Two puzzles, a candle, a pouch that matches my first Lily Bloom bag, notecards, an iPad mini case, and a 'new' Fossil handbag!  It was a pretty good trip. I love the Fossil bag, it's pretty!  It's definitely a summer bag and it's pretty. I took a picture of the outside and a view of the floral pattern on the inside.  I'll share those below along with a picture of the other items.

We got back a bit earlier this time than we did last week, so I did start a puzzle.  I got a good bit done on it and It's looking pretty good.          It's from Yosemite national park. One of the corner pieces seems to be missing!  I'm not sure if I dropped it and just haven't seen it yet, or if it was just missing. I have a extra piece from another puzzle that I will use if I can't locate this one.

Here are my goodies and the puzzle:
