Coffee anytime? Yes, please.

The coffee maker works well! It is a bit slow to heat up the water, but I'm not complaining.  It's so neat to have a coffee maker in my room. I've had two cups from it today. :p Look at how cool this set up is:

Photostudio_1614480673661

I like that it's tall enough for my 12oz Starbucks tumbler I purchased this year at the beach. I'm loving having it literally at my fingertips as I'm at my desk!  What fun I can have.  Now, if we'd get a nice snowy day, I could just sit here and watch the snow all day and have fresh coffee in minutes.  No need to leave my room. Ahhh!

I wrote some today, but I didn't write a lot. I have more to write and I plan on doing that after posting this.  I have a bit coming up and I'm trying to figure out how to go about it.  I am not sure if I'm going to do it immediately and lead up to it more.  It will all depend on how I'm feeling when I get to writing. This tumler of coffee I just made will definitely help! :p

Thrifting for me, thrifting for you. I'll have a thrift, you have one toooooooo!

I bet you know what I did today! LOL!  I found two amazing finds.  We went to Reidsville and at the Salvation Army store, I found a few little things but my friend walked over and showed me a little thermal printer.  It was brand new in the box. It makes little pictures on thermal paper. You can also buy sticker paper for it. It's nifty!  It was $3!  It retails for $37. on Amazon. Whee!  After Reidsville, we went to Mayodan NC to try a new Goodwill we haven't been to before. I found a candle and a box of cards there.  The next great deal was in Martinsville.  We went there after Mayodan and I found a single cup coffee maker new in box for $4.00!!  I found it online for $69.  It takes K-cups or you can use the reusable filter that comes with it. It's so cute!  My friend even suggested it would be good for me to carry to the beach in case there were no coffee makers. Neat!

I've played with the little printer and it's fun! It has settings in the app where you can create a little to-do list and print it out.  It's so nifty! I love finds like that. The other things I got were a three-wick candle, (it smells sooooooo good), a Christmas light tester, a mug, an old Yahtzee game, a pack of vintage cups, a kindle cover (sadly it's too big!), and a snowman doorstopper.  It was a pretty good trip.  The coffee maker and the little printer being phenomenal deals!

Here is the little printer:

I love it and I put a set of printer rolls on my wish list at Amazon. :p The prints I've done so far are very cute. It's definitely going to be used in journaling.  All I had to do was search for the app on Android, download it and pair it via Bluetooth to the printer and I was able to start using it asap!

Here is a sample of the print.  The first is a sample to-do list that I made and the second is an artistic rendering of a picture of a Starbucks cup I took some time ago.

Pretty nifty, eh?  It was a great thrifting trip.

Is this Thursday?

It sure doesn't feel like a Thursday!  I had to check my computer to make sure it was Thursday! LOL!  I didn't sleep well last night and even with a nap this afternoon I'm still sleepy.  I didn't leave the house today but I did get some writing done. :)  I've been writing pretty much every day on my story.  I re-read the book I wrote for Camp NaNoWriMo over the last two nights.  It is the first book in a trilogy.  I wrote book two for this past NaNoWriMo.  I had forgotten some things I had written and I see some more things I need to fix.  I'll get around to that eventually.  I am not sure if I'll do book three for Camp this year or save it until November. I'm having a blast writing this other story, so I'll see how it goes.

UGH!

I went to print something tonight and my printer wasn't working.  I went in to try and fix it and now it won't connect to my network. ~_~;;;;;  I have done troubleshooting and nothing. I CAN print if I have the printer connected via USB but that defeats the purpose of a wireless printer. I will mess with it again tomorrow. I've spent far too much time on it tonight when I had other things I wanted to be doing!  Let's hope I can clear it up.  It is so frustrating when stuff like this happens.

I didn't do a lot today since I'm still under the weather.  I did go to the car wash and then to the gas station to fill up Goontz!  I went by Starbucks while I was out ad had a Blonde honey almond milk flat white! lol That is fun to order, let me tell you! :P I'm going to write for a bit and then relax.  I wrote earlier, so I just want to add more words. I'm going to try one more thing that was suggested and that was to re-start my router. I wanted to post this before I did that!  Wish me luck!

SPOILER: IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

Nice and warm!

It was in the sixties today and it was nice.  My friend and I went to the trail to take a walk.  I didn't really want to go as I'm a bit under the weather, but I went.  It was nice down there.  We got to see the two bridges they have finally repaired and put back.  We walked a total of 3 miles. This, back in the day, would be nothing, but since neither of us has walked in a while, it was rough.  It didn't help that I'm sick.  The scenery was pretty as always and I got to love on a cute little puppy! <3

I am going to try to crash a little early tonight and hopefully knock out whatever this is that I have.  I've been so careful.  I haven't been sick in over a year so this really sucks.  My DS charger is supposed to come tomorrow so I can play with it a little more. I haven't done anything with it since I got it since the battery was low.  I hope to be able to get some games for it. I'll keep my eyes out when we thrift shop.  We see them sometimes but I've never really looked into them since I didn't have a DS.

As for now, I think I'm going to share a few pictures I took along the trail and then close the MBP for the evening and relax.  Hopefully, I can go to bed early.  I could use the extra sleep!

I did it again

I knew I was forgetting something yesterday!  I got a lot done, but I forgot to post to my blog.  Oops.  I did my usual Sunday chores. I washed bed linen, dishes, my hair, and I also put away the laundry I washed on Saturday.  I even put the dishes away. I was on a roll! I wrote a good bit, too! As for today, I wrote a lot.  I wrote one section earlier and then came back and added more to it later. I ended up with 2799 words today!

In other good news, I got an email from the people with my broken hard drive.  They were able to recover my stuff! YAY! Now I just have to wait for them to ship back the recovery.  I'm so happy they were able to do that.  They said early on that if they were able to get my files back, they would put them on a disk that is the size of the files they recovered and sent it. I am just now waiting for the email letting me know it's on its way back.

Not today! :p

No thrifting trip today! I didn't even leave the house. It was a nice sunny day, but it was cold so I was not upset with staying inside and at home. I cleaned up all my stuff from my storm prep. I meant to clean up all the thrifting things, too.  That is the one thing I forgot. I just looked over there and saw all the stuff. Oops!  I'll do it either before bed or tomorrow.  I didn't do a lot today. I was really tired all day.  I did write, but I didn't do much else.  I hope to get more accomplished tomorrow. I would hope so as Sunday is my busy day!

Guess what?

Did you guess thrifting? Did you? Well, if you did, you are correct!  My friend texted today and wanted to do our entire thrifting trip but backward. Instead of starting in Reidsville and ending in Martinsville, we'd do the opposite and we did!  I found a Nintendo DS Lite in the Goodwill with an old GBA game in it for $3!  It works, too!  I was surprised, but I'm glad I found it.  I had to buy a charger and stylus but they were less than $9 shipped. (I ordered them online)  That is pretty cool!  The bottom screen is a bit scratched up. I might replace it if I actually use it.  I will be looking for cheap games at Goodwill.  I looked online and it was insane with the prices. Yikes!  The game that came with it is a combo cartridge. It has Life, PayDay, and Yahtzee! Cool!  It takes the old GameBoy Advance games too.  That is what was in it.  I think it's a good buy for $3!

I found a lot of other things, too. I was able to get the little saucers or dessert plates that match my dinner plates. The matching bowls were gone. D'oh!  I got a wallet, a purse, a jack o lantern, a mini coffee cup, two pairs of shorts, a Pokemon mug (Gengar) and I think that is all?  It was a pretty good haul.  Keep in mind I got all the stuff at two stores. The Goodwill in Martinsville and the Goodwill in Reidsville.  I'm very pleased with the DS as I always wanted one.  I even have a pouch for one! I got it some time ago just because it was a cool pouch. I used it for something recently so I have to figure where I put it.

We ate at Carmela's again.  I got the fettuccine alfredo again, too. It's so good. Want to see it?  Look at this..... goodness, now I'm hungry again! :p

PXL_20210219_230552427

The dish in the background is lasagna.  We both liked our food.  It was a good trip with an excellent meal to end it out!  My friend ordered a couple of power pack thingees.  They came while we were gone and he ran by for us to get them. (He got me one)  It's charging now. It's pretty cool.  It has ports for a regular outlet plug, USB, etc. It has a flashlight too.  The jump box only has a USB port for charging so this will definitely come in handy in case of a power outage!

I have power!

The storm wasn't as bad as they were predicting. I never lost power this time either!  My friends went out for a few hours this morning, but mine didn't.  Figures, the one time I prepared for it and it doesn't happen. Oh well, I'm going to put the Sterno stoves and the generic stereo in my heavy-duty Dew / Oakley backpack and make a bug-out bag with it. I had thought about doing this some time ago.  It will be good for a BOB or just an emergency kit for at-home during outages.

I didn't do much today, I stayed in.  I was tired most of the day so that had a lot to do with nothing much getting done! I did write though, so that is good.  After I post this, I'm going to get in my sleep clothes and get comfy and relax and re-read what I wrote.  I did a lot of work on yesterday's writing. I added stuff to it to make it flow better. I also wrote another 1100 words in addition to the edits.  It's coming along great.  I only ate half of my pizza today, so I'll have the rest of that for tomorrow. It was pretty tasty!  Of course, it's pepperoni pizza so it pretty much has to be tasty! ;p

Yet another....

You won't believe this but guess what we did tonight?  We went back to Reidsville! No, seriously!  We went and ate at Carmela's. I got the fettuccine alfredo and it was sooooo good.  They had a special on pizzas so he bought us both one to go!  Why? Well, we are under a bad winter storm warning.  Lots of ice is expected. The last storm over the weekend caused many people to be without power here in the city.  Luckily, we both got through that with no outages, but we are probably going to have them this time.  I have put supplies in my room and I'm ready!  I have everything I need except a can opener. LOL! I forgot to add that to my stash. I figured it would be warmer to just stay in here and put a towel under the door and try to keep warm in here.  (If there is no power)  I brought supplies and stuff and I'm about to charge up my jump box so it will be fully charged to charge my phone and my MacBook Pro!  I have candles set aside, snacks, Sterno, and everything I need.  I remembered something after I posted last night.  I don't need a lot of ice cubes, I have a bunch of those ice 'bricks' I  can put them in a cooler and keep things cool is need be!  I wish I had been able to go out and hunt down one of my hard-sided coolers, but I never got around to it.  I think I'm prepared.

As for thrifting, we did! We got a late start, so no Salvation Army store, but we did hit Goodwill and I got some great stuff! I found a Starbucks tumbler (cold cup 16oz) and it still has the straw!  I found two Cricut items, one is a package of cutting pads/mats.  I can use those in regular crafting.  They also had a Cricut accessories kit.  It had a lot of items AND a paper cutter.  My old paper cutter's blade needs replacing and the blade for it coats more than this entire set!  This Cricut accessory set retails for $50! I got it for $2.99. SCORE!  I mainly wanted it for the cutter, but I would like to get a Cricut one day, so the rest will be kept safe in case I do!  I also found a wallet I liked and a laptop bag that is big enough for my MacBook Pro 15".  It's a Victorinox brand and it's sturdy! I was going to pass on it but it was only $1.99 and I couldn't beat that deal. It had the padded section for the laptop and it has an organizer section, too.  It's pretty nice.  It has been well used, but it's in great shape.  I love all the compartments.  Now I have a choice between it and my backpack laptop bag!  I just looked at it again and I keep finding compartments I didn't know it had! :p

Oh! I forgot one more thing.  I found some Corelle dinner plates. I love these things as they are very difficult to break and I had wanted to buy a set of them or just some plates to add my set.  I am missing a few.  The individual plates are pretty expensive.  They had eight plates cellophaned together for $3.99! The pattern is very cute, too and I love them.  I love Corelle because they are sturdy, almost unbreakable, and they last FOREVER. It was a great thrifting trip! I will have an entire set of these and the other set of mine.  They had the matching saucers, too but I didn't get them.  If they still have the when we get back, I'll get those too.  I was not leaving without those plates!  I love thrifting!

After we left Goodwill, we ran by Pete's so my friend could get ice cream.  I had noticed last night that the menu said coffee, hot chocolate, and cappuccino.  Well, I got a cappuccino and it was delicious! :p After that, we headed back here.  I finished getting my supplies together and now I'm writing this.  I need to do my French lesson and I want to write a little more.  I may not as it's so late. I wrote a little over 1300 words, so that isn't too bad!  Even if I don't have power tomorrow, hopefully, I'll still have data on my phone so I'll try to post.  That year that the hurricane came through and I was out of power for over 24 hours, my data went screwy too! Boo on that!

Here are the pictures of the cup, bag, and plates.

I'm glad we went, we might not get to go again for awhile!

Another thrift trip! :p

My friend texted me today and said he wanted to go to Pete's in Reidsville, so we did.  I found some vintage Hallmark boxed cards at the Salvation Army store.  We made it in time to go this time! :)  At Goodwill, I got a sleep mask, a small Starbucks tumbler, and a cute pink desk lamp.  The lamp is very cute and it's very bright!  I  love it.  It's a nice size too.  It takes up less space on my desk than my old desk lamp.  Look at how cute it is:

PXL_20210217_002234996.MP

It has a USB port on the side, too!  I like all of my finds.  The sun actually came out today. After days of rain and ice and just general yuck, that was nice! Of course, we are supposed to have more winter weather this week.  I am going to put together a kit tomorrow in case I lose power.  I have some Sterno on the way, I have my Sterno 'stoves' out and ready.  I am going to put together that with candles, various foods that don't need to be cooked, extra blankets, etc.  I also have the jump box that has ports on it to charge things.  This way I can at least have my phone and laptop charged if need be. I also am making some ice cubes to fill a cooler. I probably won't have enough to fill a cooler by the time I need it, but I'll have some ice, so I'll be good. I would go to the store tomorrow and get a few more things but I heard that the stores here insane today from two different people.  I have enough! lol

Sigh

I realized once I got in bed last night that I didn't post to my blog.  I swear I need more sleep!  It's been lacking lately and it's catching up to me!  I did all my regular Sunday chores yesterday and wrote, too.  Today, I went to the grocery store. I've needed to go for a while and just haven't been. I'm glad I did because we just had that ice over the weekend and the forecast is for more this week!  Any threat of weather and the store is a madhouse. I was lucky and hit an in-between time today.  I didn't get a ton of groceries, but I got a few essentials, Soda, coffee, cheese. LOL!

I am glad to have that done. Now I don't have to go out again anytime soon if I don't want to.  If I weren't almost out of soda, I wouldn't have gone today.  I'm set for a while now. It was drizzling and yucky again today.  I wish the rain would stop.  It's driving me nuts.  Drip, drip, drip inside. Boo! I have been looking to back up my Evernote in OneNote just as a precaution.  I looked to find out how.  Well, there is an importer on the Microsoft site.  I tried to download it on my MBP running Big Sur and it said NOPE!  So, I open the old Macbook, it was running a version that was too old to use, so I turned on the 13" MBP that has Catalina on it. It worked!  I just wanted to have an extra copy of my files. It's taking forever, but hopefully, everything will be there and backed up! I got through a long process and it was doing the things it needed to do and then it crashed. D'oh!  I'm re-running it now, hopefully, that will work! WIsh me luck! :)

BLEAH!!!!!!!

That is what I think of today's weather! It was cold, icy, and rainy all day.  A lot of the city was without power.  Luckily I wasn't one of the houses without power.  The city near us, Martinsville, VA where we do our thrift runs to was completely out.  The power was out for the entire city! That had to suck for them.  It is back now there and they are still working on the outages here. I hope for everyone's sake that the power comes back on for them.

We are still under a winter weather advisory so there may be more power outages. Hopefully, if my neighborhood gets an outage, it will be when I'm ready for bed! I an add extra blankets and be snuggly warm!  I wrote a LOT today.  I had a part from yesterday that I added a lot of dialogue to and then I wrote another long scene. I'm very happy with it.  I can't wait to re-read it and see if it's as good as I think.

I didn't do much today except to stay in and try to stay warm and dry. I didn't go out because there were trees down all over the city (thus the power outages!).  I didn't want to risk my Goontz! It's supposed to be rainy tomorrow too, I'll decide I plan to go out or not then.  I probably won't as I would have to put air in the tire and it is messy out there!  I have all my usual Sunday things to do tomorrow, too.  I meant to wash dishes today so I'd have a clear spot to wash my hair tomorrow, but it's so cold in my kitchen that I just didn't feel like messing with it.

I think I am going to get off the computer for the night and get on some comfy pajamas and get in my bed and relax until bedtime.  I am hoping to be able to sleep well tonight. I've been sleeping very poorly lately and I need a good night's sleep!

Friday frozen follies!

My friend texted me today. He was trying to buy a house and made an offer but his offer didn't get accepted, so he was a bit bummed. He texted me and asked if I'd like to 'go somewhere, anywhere.'  I said, yes even though it was cold and overcast and we had rain/freezing rain. Luckily it didn't start up again until we were almost done with our adventure.  We went to Yanceyville, NC to the Goodwill there.  We then went to Roxboro NC and on to South Boston Virginia.  We went to the Goodwill there, too.  I didn't get anything major, but I did find some fun things.  Our favorite place to eat in South Boston was closed.  I looked on Google and it said it was 'temporarily closed' I hope it's not permanent.  We went looking for something else and found a place called Italian Delight.  It was right near the Goodwill we'd gone to so we had to backtrack.  We gave them a go and they were great. It was an order at the counter and fill your own drink type place.  He got spaghetti and I got a small pepperoni pizza.  It was delicious! Definitely a place we'll go to again.

It was very cold out there today.  My car had ice on it when I got in it!  I noticed a lot of ice-covered trees in one area where we were. When we got home, he noticed that something was falling but it was very light.  We are under a winter weather advisory for the weekend, but sadly it's ice and freezing rain and no snow. Boo! I have no plans to go out this weekend and be in this mess!  I hope to get some writing done. I did write some earlier but I have a feeling tomorrow I'm going to want to edit it.  I have the entire weekend to just chill, write, and drink coffee! :p

Well then!

DAMN! I just wrote a post and deleted it.  D'oh!  I will just say hi for now.  I said something in the post about almost forgetting to post and that I hadn't done anything today.  I didn't go anywhere in any case.  I did write, though.  I got over 2000 words. I think I'm going to post this before my dumb ass deletes this too! :P  Oh! My friend brought by some KFC and shared it with me and I got to keep the leftovers, that is lunch tomorrow.  I also mentioned that I skipped dinner. I was just too busy doing other stuff and forgot! Oh well, I did snack.  I think that was the main gist of the post so there you go.  It's a bit jumbled and not as coherent as it was, but you get the idea. LOL!
