March 2021

Oi, sorry!

Yeah, I didn't post yesterday. I totally meant to! My friend and I went on our Tuesday thrift trip.  We went to Reidsville and to Mayodan.  I didn't get a lot of stuff, but I got a few things.  My computer chair is slowly dying and I've been looking for a new one.  My friend saw one in the Goodwill in Reidsville NC and he bought it for me. It was only $5! It's very similar to the one I'm using now so I'm happy with it.  My thrifting finds were two mugs (a snowman one and a Halloween one), a roll of caution tape, a flashlight, some Jack o lantern string lights, and several other little things.  Not a huge haul, but a fun one.  I went tonight to Target and got a few things I have been needing.  I was able to pick up some Starbucks cards that I didn't have.  That was nice.  I am always happy to get those.  In Target, I found some Post-It brand stuff on markdown.  They have a new line called Noted.  They had a little notebook on clearance and a pad of Post-It notes that were graph paper.  I bought those and the thing I had gone for. I actually had gone over there to get some of the pop-up PostIts.  I have three different PostIt brand popup dispensers I've found while thrifting but I only have the regular notes.  I found a six-pack in Target so now I have these.  I just have to go around and fill my dispensers.

For now I'm going to close.  I'll try to post more tomorrow.  Sorry again for no post yesterday.  Time just got away from me!  I'm trying to keep the 13" Macbook Pro charged so if I want to move on my bed with it, I can.  I like keeping the 15" on my desk. :)

So weary!

My friend and I walked today. I didn't really feel like going, but I went. I didn't sleep well last night and I'm just sort of bleh today.  I hope to feel better tomorrow.  We are going to do our Tuesday thrifting. Well, that is the plan at the present time!  I am hoping to sleep very well tonight and make up for last night.  Here is a picture I took along the trail of the river.

Hello from Sunday

I did write more after I posted last night.  I also put away the laundry. That made for an easier day today.  I only had to wash and dry my bed linen and my hair.  I put away the dishes I washed yesterday too. I am so glad I didn't have to wash them today.  I have been at my desk most of the day on the laptop.  I have been watching YouTube vids all day and I'm currently obsessed with Pierogi's channel for taking down scammers and wasting their time and deleting their files. His channel is great. Just search Scammer Payback on YouTube.

I wrote today and I wrote a lot. I wrote 2890 words! I was on a roll. :p. I am now going to relax until bedtime. I'm very tired and I just feel bleh. I'm hoping to sleep well tonight and feel more like myself tomorrow.  Here is hoping!

No alarm? What?

This morning I was awake before my Fitbit would usually go off and wake me up. I waited for it to go off and it never did! I thought it might be broken or something.  Well, I look at my arm and it's not there!  I took it off to charge it last night and forgot to put it back on!  LOL!  I am glad I woke up anyway!  Sheesh! I got a few things done today that needed doing. I washed a load of laundry and I wash two weeks' worth of dishes. That was pretty insane and I'm glad to have them done. I do have two dishes that I didn't finish because they need to soak Once they do, they'll be easy to finish cleaning and I'll have all the dishes done.  I never mean to let them get so backed up.  I didn't do them last week because I didn't use that sink to wash my hair, so I didn't have to wash them to use it!  It will be all clean and ready for me to use tomorrow.

I usually wait and put away the laundry on Sunday, but I just may go get those things out and put them away tonight to save myself some time tomorrow.  That way I can wash my bed linen and dry it without having to wait to put away the laundry to toss it in the dryer. I only wrote a little today.  That is okay as I've been writing a lot more most days.  A day of less writing is okay.  Only 527 words. I might write a few more after posting this, but I doubt it. I really would like to put away the laundry tonight.  I haven't slept well lately, so maybe I  can convince my brain to let me go to bed early tonight!  I can certainly try! I am sitting here yawning my head off but as soon as I get in bed to sleep, I'll be wide awake. It never fails!

Book two.....

I just printed a copy of book two of my ice skating trilogy. I'm seriously thinking about writing the final book for CampNaNoWriMo in April. I haven't completed decided, but I think it's what I'm going to do. That means November and NaNoWriMo will be book five of my Zombie series or a brand new book.  I'll worry about that later!  I am still working on the story I started before NaNo that I'm writing for myself. I have written on it almost every single day. I will want to continue through Camp, but I might not write as much on it each day. I also have a bit of research to do for one part of book three so I need to get that done. April is going to be here before you know it!

Post office visit!

I went out to the post office today and checked my box. Good thing, that poor thing needed to be emptied! LOL!  I had a couple of things from penpals.  I WILL be sitting down this weekend and getting my mail caught up.  I need a few more stamps as I'll have more letters than stamps, but I'm going to get them caught up and sent off. I've bought a lot of cute envelopes lately and I want to use them for my pals. I also printed a sheet of labels from the pack I got at Goodwill yesterday. They worked perfectly! :)

Impromtu Thrift!

Yeah, there were absolutely no plans to thrift today.  My friend has been saying he'd put new tires on Goontz since we've driven it so much and it was needed new tires when he got it.  He took it today and got tires.  He then wanted me to drive it to see how it felt with the new tires.  That was nice.  I switched spots with him and we went by Wendy's for me to grab a bite to eat as it was past my lunchtime.  After that, we went to Cookout so he could get a shake.  He mentioned drying on the highway and said something about Eden, NC.  I said, how about Martinsville instead.  That is what we did.  We went to the Goodwill in Martinsville and the one in Bassett (just up the road about 10 minutes).  At the first GW, I found some Avery address labels new in the package, three packs of business card binder pages, (I use these for my Starbucks cards), a purple binder with some divider inserts already in there, a cute little canvas bag, and a plastic kitchen spoon!  That was a nice little haul.  We went to the Bassett one and I found a pair of Dr. Martens in my size that looked almost brand new.  They were $40 and I didn't have that much, so my friend got them and I'm going to pay him back $10 a month for the next four months. Cool!  They are pretty cool, they are a bit shiny and look either purple or burgundy.  Just depends on the lighting.  They are very cool and I've never had a pair of Docs.  Here they are:

Cool, yes? My size, in great condition for a good price, and they are comfy!  I was very pleased to get them.  The only other thing I found in there was a puzzle.  I got it for .69¢. I really need to start working on puzzles again!  While we were out, we went by the car wash and washed Goontz.  Later, we took it by another car wash and I vacuumed it well.  My Goontz has new tires, is clean inside and out and I'm pleased! ^_^

Here is the cute little bag. It has blueberries on it! It has a tag that says, "Stonewall Kitchen" in it.  I just thought it adorable and had to have it. It rang up a whole .99¢!

Impromptu thrift trips are fun!  In other news, my set of Styluses that I ordered from Amazon came today.  I also received my order from eBay of two DS games. One is Scribblenauts and one is an Adventure Time game! YAY! The AT game is, "Hey Ice King! Why Did You Steal Our Garbage??!" :p

Tuesday seems to be a thrift day......

So I was sitting at home on the laptop and my friend texted and asked if we were going to Reidsville today. I said sure if he wanted.  I got dressed and then went over to his house. He pulled up right after I did, so that was great timing.  We got on the road after he went in for a few and went to the Salvation Army store first.  I found a few things in there.  I found a removable purse organizer (can also be used for bullet journal organization), a clear zipper pouch for a binder, a puzzle,  a little Post-it note dispenser, and I think that was it.  My friend found a nice car phone holder and bought it for me.  We left there and went to Pete's to eat.  After Pete's, we went to the Goodwill. Wait, he ran by a music store first, and then we went to Goodwill.  At Goodwill, I found a Fossil bag, It's one of the Key.Per bags.  It still had its key and little 'charm' thingee, too! I also found a little wooden 'basket' with jack o lanterns on both ends, I got a mini lunchbox with snowmen on it, and a nice Kitchen Aid kettle. I've been meaning to buy a kettle and I saw this one and it's in great shape and the inside is very clean.  We left there and went back to Pete's and got ice cream before heading back to Danville.  We went to the two Goodwill stores here.  We went to the regular one and I only found one thing. It was a cute ceramic Jack o lantern.  We went to the other one.  Now, for this store, we went once several years ago and they were rude and really pissed me off and I haven't been back since. I decided to give them one more chance and we went tonight.  Luckily it was different people working and much nicer ones, too!  I got TWO Fossil bags!  I also found a CD, a little package of Jack O lantern bags/envelopes, and a little thing of notes that are shaped like A's, and the little container that holds them has A's on it too.  Very cute  It was a good thrift trip! I wasn't really expecting it. I thought he would want to skip it but he didn't.  I am glad he didn't. Three 'new' Fossil bags! :)  It seems like I am forgetting something but I can't remember what it is! I did write today. I actually got in a little over 2000 words! I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to do CampNaNoWriMo this year and if I do, what I'm going to do for it.  I don't have a lot of time left to figure it out!

I just remembered the other thing I got tonight. The GW I gave another chance to had clothes hangers 10 for $1 so I got one pack. I seem to always be out of hangers! So, that is it, the accounting of my day.  I am home and I'm going to get off this laptop as soon as I post this. I am going to relax a bit before bed and re-read what I wrote today.  I have two packages that I hope are coming tomorrow. One package has two DS games that I found on eBay and the other package is a set of styluses for it. The first order never came and the seller refunded me so I ordered another set on Amazon.  I know Ill get those!  The next thing I want to get for it is a replacement bottom screen and then a clear case for the outside but those can both wait.

Sigh

No post yesterday and I was about to do the same thing today!  Sorry about that.  It's just been one of those days!  I'll try to post a good one tomorrow.  I have pretty much stayed inside all day.  I did write almost 3000 words so there is that!

La la la

I didn't take a single picture today. :p  I have spent most of the day being lazy.  I did wash clothes and then pulled up a rug and toss it in to wash alone.  It needed it!  I used to wash small rugs all the time.  Of course, that was back when I had a washer with an agitator.  I have a HE one now that has the low water thing and no agitator.  I swear it doesn't now clean clothes like the old kind.  If I ever have to replace it, I'm getting an agitator or a better washer!

I was supposed to get a small package from Amazon today.  I was at my desk in the window all day and never saw the mail truck or anyone delivering.  I checked my package tracking about 5:45 and it said it couldn't be delivered because of 'animal interference'.  I have no pets. I think they were just lazy and didn't bother to come to my street today. They must have realized that I had a package with tracking and put that to give a reason why they didn't deliver. So annoying. When I got those pen refills at Goodwill and ordered a pen to use them in, I ordered the wrong pen. I kept it anyway and looked up the correct pen. That is what I had coming today.  I have so many refills, I thought getting the correct pen would be a good idea! Now I have to wait until Monday. Boo!

I wrote today. I was glad to do it as I only wrote about 500 words last night. Today I edited that bit and then added 1500 more words. Much better word count!  I would have written more but it's getting late and I'm tired. Plus, I wanted to post here.

Wowee......

My friend and I went on a thrifting trip today.  We hadn't planned to do this at all. We'd already said we were not going to go.  I was lying around relaxing when my friend asked if I would at least like to get food at Biscuitville.  I at first said no, but then jokingly said we could go to a different Goodwill after eating.  He suggested the one in Tightsqueeze, so that is what we did. I'd never been in that one before so that was nice.  I found a Ziploc with a complete set of the 50 count Crayola Supertips! YAY!  I now have a spare set as backup.  I have a few colors that I have used a lot so I can get replace them as needed. I also got some envelopes in there.  Then, we decided to go on to Altavista.  The Goodwill there was small, but we found a few things.  I found a puzzle, a pair of workout capris, a mug, and a Grumpy Cat plush! :D  I was so happy to find her.  My friend said, "Look" and held it out and I grabbed it and said, "Grumpy Cat!!!!"  I bought her, I now have my own Grumpy cat plush! ^_^

From there, we went to Lynchburg and went to three Goodwills we've never been to.  I am not going to list things by store.  I'll just post what I got.  I found two vintage puzzles still sealed in the box, a vintage Backgammon game, a DS game, a DS charger, a Planner's Anon planner, a paper punch, a small BOC handbag, a book, and I think that was all.  We left there and hit 501 and went to South Boston and went to the Goodwill there  I found a big Halloween box, a ceramic jack o lantern, a Relic bag, a mailbox (brand new in the box), and some Halloween taper candles.  They are orange and have a ghostie carrying a jack o lantern. Very cute! All in all, it was a great trip and I didn't spend a lot of money. I looked up this particular planner out of curiosity. It was a holiday one from this past December.  It retails for $140 AUD! That is about ! $110 USD! Wow, it's pretty cool too.  It's Yule/Holiday-themed, but I could use it for other things, too if I wanted. VERY nicely made and it had the strings, the little covers, a post-it pad with a countdown, and a little countdown insert.  Very neat!  All in all a very good trip.  I love all my finds and plan to play my 'new' DS game tonight.  It's Brain Age. It looks like it will have a lot of fun games on it. I love games like that so this was a no-brainer. :P

I didn't get to write today as I was gone from about noon until almost 9 pm!  I am very tired and I hope to get in my bed and relax soon. I thought about taking the 13" MBP to bed with me and write and I still might do that, but I'm not sure.  I am really tired and I might not write well in this condition, we'll see.  Maybe a few lines just so I can say I did write today!

I was going to write this all up tomorrow but thought I would go ahead and do it tonight.  I will try to get a few photos of some of my goodies up tomorrow! Until then, have a great day!

Oops!

I totally forgot to post last night. I thought of it after the fact.  Oh well, yesterday was all out of whack for me anyway! I usually get up with my Fitbit alarm at 10:30 every day. Yesterday, I woke up and looked at the clock to see how much time I had left to sleep and it was afternoon. I said, oh, I have time and then it hit me, NOON.  I was so tired because I had been having a stressful dream right before I woke up.  I was all out of sorts and my day was totally off after that.  I usually relax from 10:30 - 12 and get myself together and ready for the day. That didn't happen yesterday. The day just seemed so off-kilter.  Luckily, today, I woke up at the right time!

I didn't leave the house today. It was raining off and on all day.  We had a small thunderstorm here, too.  It wasn't bad, though.  No power outages or anything.  The power didn't even blink.  I sat in my window and watched the rain.  It was coming down fast and hard at one point.  I stayed inside and stayed dry! :p

I tried something new today.  I few grocery visits ago, I bought two of the Coca-Cola with coffee cans.  One was dark and one was caramel. I tried the caramel today and it was surprisingly good. I was all set to hate it, but it was pretty tasty. It had the bite of Coca-Cola, the taste of coffee, and there was the subtle hint of caramel.  Pretty good.  I would buy it again.  This is what the can looks like:

Screen Shot 2021-03-18 at 5.19.53 PM

I will try the dark one later. I found out that there is a vanilla one too. I'd like to try it, also.  I just looked at my can for the caffeine content. It's only 69 mg. That is less than a 16.9 oz Moutain Dew!  I just looked at an old empty Coke can in my room and a regular 12ox Coke only has 36 mg.  So this is lmost twice as much as a normal Coke.

Thrifting, yes, big haul, no.

We did a thrift trip today. We went to Reidsville to Salvation Army and Goodwill. I didn't buy anything in SA, but I found a cool Starbucks tumbler from 2006 in Goodwill! :) I add pictures at the end of this post.  From there, we went to the little restaurant we found on Friday in Stokesdale and ate.  When then went to the Goodwill in Mayodan. I found a box of Rolodex cards that fit the little Rolodex I bought Friday. It has 1000 in it, so I should not run out anytime soon! :p That was a whole dollar, too! We left there and headed to Eden.  Since we were in Eden, we stopped by the Goodwill there. There were two Sak bags and a Fossil wallet. I didn't get any of those though as I was already low on cash and I couldn't see spending that much.  The bags were nice but not really my style. The wallet I would have gotten just because it was Fossil. It really wasn't one I would use.  The only thing I bought in there was a set of whiteboard markers.  I never seem to have a working whiteboard marker when I need it.  This was a pack of ten with some cool colors other than the usual blue, green, red, and black. :) It was a decent little trip and my friend was nice enough to fill my car up when we got back since we've taken two thrifting trips since I filled it up recently. :)

PXL_20210316_235653350.MP

I just realized that you can see Homer going, "Whoo Hoo!" in the background. He must like my tumbler. :p

Groceries!

I went to the grocery store today. I didn't really want to go out at all, but I needed some things in the house.  One of the things on my list was some milk and that is the one thing I forgot to get. D'oh! I went right up the aisle too! I got coffee creamer, but no milk  They actually had my favorite creamer in stock so I bought two! :p  I also got a few boxes of K-cups since they were on sale.

I got in and out pretty easily, I picked the right time to go, that is for sure. They weren't very busy at all. I like to go when it's like that.  It's so much easier and less stressful!  I am very happy to have that done. I still need to get milk, but I'll get it another time.  My friend texted tonight and he wants to go to Reidsville again tomorrow! That means a thrift trip. I hope I don't find a lot of things because I'm about to be broke.  We've thrifted a lot lately and it's catching up to me!

I wrote a little over 2000 words today!  Whoo-hoo!  I hope to write tomorrow too. Days where we thrift sometimes feel like they go by too fast.  I should be able to write some before he gets off work. He has to work to the regular time tomorrow and not get off at noon, so that will give me a little time. I plan to use it!

Sunday slow...... day

So, we turned the clock ahead here last night. UGH I hate the time change.  I woke up today all out of sorts and did NOT want to get up. I finally did and then after I ate my breakfast, I laid back down for a little bit.  I don't think I slept, but I was cozy comfy and did not want to get up. I finally made myself get up and get on with my day.  This delayed everything else I did.  One thing I did that helped speed up things a little? I washed my hair without heating up the water first.  I also put it up in a turby twist to dry so I didn't have use time sitting under the dryer when I could be doing other things.  I got dishes washed and my laundry from yesterday put away.  Then, I started drying my bed linen.  I waited way too late and now I'm just hoping it's dry before midnight.  It's not looking good at this point. Ahh!

I did get some writing done today, though.  I should have done more, but I got 1784 words, so I don't know why I think it wasn't much! LOL I just looked and saw the word count.  As for the rest of the evening, I'm going to relax and hope the bed linen is dry soon so I can put it back on the bed. Then, I'm going to crash on the bed and relax until bedtime.  I hope to shake off this stupid lethargy from the time change.  Did I mention I hate the time change?
