July 2021

I'm not dead!

I am so sorry for not posting in so long. I don't know how the time got away from me. I was thinking it had only been about a week, it's been almost two! D'oh!  There have been a few thrift trips since I last posted.  I found some goodies as always.  I realized my Starbucks tumbler collection was growing at an incredible rate, so i decided to do something about it!  I have a china hutch in a room in my house that was full of miscellaneious dishes.  I cleared those out and it now holds the majority of my Starbucks tumbler collection. There are still about 10 that I didn't put in.  I also did put in mugs or ceramic tumblers.  It looks nice and there is plenty of room for more. I put the French press in there, too! (The Starbucks one of course)

I have been writing on my Camp NaNoWriMo work and have long since past the 50,000 mark.  I am trying to decide what I'm going to do for actual NaNoWriMo in November. I have been re-reading some of the last zombie book I wrote and I may right the next book in that series. I just have to figure out what happens next.

Again, sorry for not posting in so long. I have been enjoying the heck out of digital planning and I adore eerything I have gotten from DPCDigitals. Either the freebies or the things I've bought.  I get to use my one month planner I bought from them on Sunday. Yay!  I will try to remember to put a link to them in my links on the sidebar.  If you are new to Digital planning, they are the best. You can get so many freebies and their stuff in their Etsy store is very reasonably priced. Check them out!

Thrift and Walk!

We went back over to Reidsville today and got in two thrift stores and then went to walk on the walking trail at the old Chinqua Penn estate.  I took quite a few pictures to share. I hope to upload them to a Google photo album tomorrow.  For now, here is a preview!

It's a pretty trail. We enjoyed it and would like to go again, but I want to wait until it's a bit cooler out.  It was so hot.  The shady parts weren't too bad, though! I found another Starbucks mug in Goodwill and a nice whiteboard/corkboard too.

Quick thrift!

So, my friend and I went to Reidsville, we were going to thrift in Salvation Army, Goodwill, and then walk on a trail we found there. We get there and go to Bojangles to eat first.  They took a very long time and by the time we got our food and ate, it was too late to go to Salvation Army. They close at 5.  We went to Goodwill and I found some fuzzy socks (yay!), a light-up snowman (for the holidays), some candy, (new not used! LOL!), and a very cute SakRoots bag!  It has an Owl patch and the charm still on it. Very, very cute! Look:

It's just so cute! I don't usually like the SakRoots bags because a lot of them have that slick coating, this one is just fabric. I love it! We didn't get to walk because it started raining and it was storming a bit so we will do that another day.

Digital planner bliss?

Well, I found this one site that does a LOT of digital freebies and when I say a LOT, I mean a lot!  They have an Etsy shop too. I have gotten a ton of freebies from the site and I've bought two sticker packs from them and a one-month planner. I love everything!  They are great. All the things are so pretty and colorful and I love them. I'm going to use the month planner in August (and set it up again for each month until December) I hope to get one of their undated ones or a 2022 one. We'll see.  So far I'm loving everything.  I bought a coffee sticker set and a weather sticker set.  All the designs are adorable.  The freebies are excellent, too.  Want to check them out? Of course, you do!

DPC Digitals

You will NOT be disappointed! Here is a fun page I made with some free and paid stickers from the shop:

How cute are those stickers?????

I am still searching for the best digital planner.  I have several I've looked at on Etsy. I can't decide which is the best for me. I've been searching for free ones too to try out different types. I might end up making my own. I did make myself a daily page, so I might put together a planner for 2022.  If I can't find a premade undated one that I love, that is probably the way I'm going. I might look into dated 2022 ones too.   I have found a lot of cool sticker freebies and several nice undated planners, but none exactly like what I want.  I'll keep looking and I'll be searching Etsy again, too.

Friday Thrift

My friend and I went thrifting today. We went to Reidsville, Mayodan, and Walkertown.  I didn't get a lot, but I did get some goodies.  I got an old Hangman board game with Vincent Price on the box. Very cool!  I love adding 'new' board games to my collection. I found a Starbucks tumbler in two different stores.  That is four I've gotten this past week!  I'm always happy to find those. The ones today, one if from 2007 and one is from the past 2020 holiday collection!  I found a small pink Caboodle that I bought for $2. I still have two of my Caboodles from back in the day. They are great for storing things.  The biggest one that I already have is my sewing kit. It has spools of thread, buttons, needles, and all sorts of sewing supplies in it. Very handy, indeed.

Trail and thrift!

My friend texted me today and asked if I wanted to do our thrifting in Reidsville, NC only. I did, so we headed over there after he got off work.  We went to the Salvation Army store after eating at Bojangles (yummy).  I found some notecards, some tea lights, some little sequin Christmas patch thingees, Big Boggle (complete!) and I think that was all. At Goodwill, I found two Starbucks tumblers, some dishwashing gloves (hey they were cheap and brand new in the package), and, a Life board game. Not any Life board game, a Simpsons-based one! :D  It's complete except for one of the little cars. Everything else is there.  Very cool find! I snatched that right up and it definitely went home with me! :) It was a good haul.

So, after we left there, we decided to go look for a trail that we have been meaning to go look for.  We went to find it and did! Since we were there, we walked on it just a little bit.  It looks pretty nice from what we saw of it. I picked up a brochure and the entire trail is only 1.7 miles. It's a loop.  I want to go back and walk the entire thing. I just want to go in the correct clothes and shoes for walking. Speaking of shoes, I forgot that I found a nice pair of New Balance in Goodwill. I knew I was forgetting something! They are a size bigger than my usual size, but they fit fine and they are comfy!  They are going to replace my daily shoes that are getting so worn out.

Here are a couple of pictures I took on the trail:

I went to get my car inspected today. I got it inspected, but it needed front brakes. D'oh. I got them and the inspection sticker but I'm now pretty broke.  Thrifting trips will have to be very thrifty! :p  The place I went to has this cool old Pepsi bottle return rack. It's from way back in the day when soda all came in glass bottles and you returned them for the deposit. They had some old bottles in it, but most of them were newer ones. I thought it was cool in any case, so I took a picture to share.

They even had some old soda crates next to it as you can see in the second picture. I love vintage things. Of course, it would have been cooler had it been Coca Cola. :p

Looking for the perfect one....

I have been looking through a bunch of digital planners, both paid and free. I'm trying to find the perfect one. I found a few I really like on Etsy. Two from the same shop.  I like two of her planners that are very similar. I can't figure what is different about them except for colors and maybe a few things in them. I wish there was a comparison thing for them.  I did find a few freebies and loaded them to the iPad so I'll be checking those out later. I'd like to find the perfect undated planner that I can use over and over.  Just make a new clean copy each year. I know what I want and I know I'll know when I see it. The two I'm looking at are almost perfect, but I can't decide.  I am trying to go digital to save money and paper.  There are so many digital planners out there! Ah!

Sunday thrifting?

Yes. We did. We only were able to make it to two Goodwill stores. The one in Reidsville and the one in Mayodan. i did find some goodies.  I got a nice Starbucks mug in Reidsville and a unique purse in Mayodan.  I've seen people post pictures before of recycled purses or 'gumwrapper' purses. I found one and I bought it just because I've never seen one.  It's pretty cool.  Want to see it?

I have needed to wash dishes for a long time. I kept putting it off. I finally got off my booty and washed them.  I am so glad to get those washed. I don't want to use any dishes and have to do it again. :p  I got my laundry going today, too. I just need to put it away, but it's getting close to midnight, so I'll put it away tomorrow.  In fact, I need to go and check and make sure it's dry.  I have written and done all the other things I needed to do today.  I"m going to relax for a bit.  I need to get Goontz a new inspection sticker on Monday. It's hard to believe that it's almost been a year since I got my Goontz!

Pup went home.

My little visitor went home today.  I'll miss that sweet little face.  They took a loooooooong time to drive back from the beach.  Where we go is further and it takes less time! LOL, They finally got back and then I had to wait longer and finally they came and got Cocoa. I had some things I needed to do, so I left after that.  My friend and I wanted to thrift today, but they got back way too late for us to go.  I went out and did a few things and then decided I'd run by the grocery store. I was afraid they'd be extremely busy, but they weren't too bad, so I went and got some things I needed.  I'm set for the weekend. I am planning on staying in the entire weekend. I plan to relax, write, and just enjoy being home!  Happy weekend to me. :p

I went by the cemetery where my parents and grandparents are and checked on things.  While I was there, I noticed how pretty the sky was. here is the picture I took:

Pup, day two!

So I still have the pup.  This little rotten girl got hand-fed today by me, twice. Rotten! lol, I ran out while she was sleeping this afternoon and got some Starbucks! Starting the month off right. :) I didn't do much else today.  I am participating in Camp NaNoWriMo with the story I'm currently working on. I WILL be doing NaNoWriMo this year. It's either going to be the skater store (book 3) or the zombie epic (book 5) OR something totally new. I have no idea which! I'm glad I have a while.  I am seriously considering getting Scrivener on my iPad. I haven't decided yet because just how often would I write there?  I do have a Bluetooth keyboard so it wouldn't be hard to do. I'll think on it. For now, I'm going to relax a bit and then take the pup out one more time tonight.  I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm hoping to make up for that tonight!
