What the Junk?!

So, I'm going to post to the blog now just in case the power goes out here. So far, we've only had a bit of rain and some wind. Nothing crazy yet.  I have heard thumps a few times from things falling off trees and hitting the house, but nothing major. I have my stuff all charged and my little charging thing is ready if I need it. I have candles and all that good stuff, too. I probably won't need any of it, but it's better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it!

I just peeked out and it's not currently raining. The street is wet so it has been but it's not now. We'll see how it goes. I have my little Sterno stoves and some Sterno. I also have a French press so if I lose power, I can still have coffee in the morning, so that is good. Hell, I probably could run the little coffee maker I have in my room on the little charge station I have! It's all good. Luckily, it's cooler now so I won't be suffering without air conditioning. In fact, it's cool enough at the moment that I am not even running it.

My friend and I did not thrift today. I did go to Starbucks for national coffee day. :) Hurricane Ian is heading this way and we are supposed to get some rain and winds from it tomorrow. Probably nothing too bad, but I charged the M1 just in case we lose power. It was close to needing a change, so I did it a bit early just in case.

I had not expected it, but my friend and I went to one of our favorite out-of-town restaurants. There are two Goodwills that we visit when we got there. Well, sometimes more but they are a bit further along. I went to one and let him go in the second. I found. a few goodies in the first. He found me a goodie in the second! lol, It's a 2010 opaque Starbucks tumbler! I didn't have one like this so I was pleased. It had a big sticker on the front. I got most of it off, but I need to work on it some more.

At the one I went in, I got a Post-it note holder like I don't have, a pouch, a Starbucks mug, some craft/scrapbook papers, a little pouch, and some new batteries. I wanted to try out my little flashlights! 

My friend and I did our usual Tuesday thrift albeit a bit later in the day than usual. I only found one thing in each store. In the Salvation Army, I found a vintage plastic Myrtle Beach wallet/wristlet. In the Goodwill, I found a little baggie of flashlights for $4. Not an amazing haul, but it's something. :)

I am late on a lot of things and one of those and putting out my Halloween decorations. I usually put them out on the first day of September!  I got the boxes out yesterday, but I didn't actually unbox and put everything out until today.  It took a while as I've gotten even more stuff than last year. Oops. LOL, It's all out now. I have to plug in the pumpkins that look out at the street. I will probably drive out and around the block to make sure they look okay after I do that. I always like to see how they look from the street. Sometimes I don't get them where they can be seen as well as they should.  I know they aren't high enough at the moment, they need a box to sit on and I have a black drape I use, but I have no idea where the drape is... AH! lol

Sorry about that. I kept meaning to blog and knew I was going to do a post-beach post with pictures and all and it just got too overwhelming and I never did anything. I will share a few pictures from the morning we left. I do hope to do a wrap-up post with some of my trip finds. I know I didn't share much about them as I got them. I think I mentioned the cart that I got. I got it put together and it's very cute! It was deceptively harder to put together than it looked! Seriously! Anyway, here are a few pictures I took on the beach before we left. I will try to get back into posting regularly again.

We made it back. I am extremely tired so I will post a trip recap tomorrow with some pictures I took this morning.  I will share one picture today, though.

Ah, the last night post that will be posted from the beach itself. I probably will not post in the morning from here. I have already packed up a lot of my things to save myself time in the morning.  We went out to a couple of places tonight and then got dinner and ice cream. We were going to run to a Starbucks, but the only ones that are open until 10 or later are in North Myrtle Beach. So weird!  You would think that at least a few would be open that late here. Oh well.  So, I took one last walk down to the beach. I took a few pictures from a different perspective tonight.

I am currently on the balcony of the room.  I am going to spend as much time here as possible as we leave tomorrow.  It's another gorgeous day here. Sunny and hot! We are going out to dinner later, but that isn't going to be for quite a while as we both just ate some leftovers.  All my room food is gone except for some cheese slices and snacks. lol Here is the current view!

I am SO going to miss this!

It's our last full day here, sadly.  I am going to miss seeing the ocean every day, but I am going to enjoy being reunited with my bed!  Also, being able to spread out and have my things just like I like them will be nice too! I took a few pictures to share. Not sure what we are doing today.  

I meant to do this earlier, but time got away from me. We were up and out pretty early. We went to all of the Goodwills except the one at North Myrtle Beach, we got there last night.  We even went back to Conway and got that Goodwill and the Salvation Army store there.  I found a few goodies today.  A pencil pouch, an old vintage address thingee, a cute tote bag, and a bunch of other small things. We also made it to a Tuesday Morning and I got a two-pack of notebooks and a bamboo tabletop /board that fits on a rolling craft cart. I have been thinking of buying one of those carts for a while now. Even if I don't, I can use the board I got as a lap desk or similar. My friend got himself some inexpensive Bluetooth earbuds yesterday and said he'd buy me a pair like his today. We found some similar ones in Tuesday Morning and he got me them. I'm happy because the case is blue. :P. They work well, too. I paired them with the M1 and it was a go! 

Right now, I'm sitting on the balcony of our room. This is the first day it's been cool enough to stay out here for any length of time. It's been so muggy. Today, it was muggy and humid, but there is a nice breeze blowing out here so it's nice. I plan to stay out here and write. My writing has suffered greatly here. Not being able to get away and write has been stressful. I have written every day though Even if it's only 200 or so words! Here are a few pictures I took right before typing this up!

I forgot to post an evening post last night. Oops!  Well, I'll start the day with a few beach pics and.a pool pic. lol I will even toss in one I took last night that i had planned to post in an evening post. :)

I was going to post this from the balcony but it's very humid out there.  It's making my Mac fog up. That is not good for it, so back in I am. It was pouring rain earlier this morning, too. It was really crazy for a while. I will share a picture from the beginning of the rain and then a few pictures from just a moment ago when I was on the balcony. In the rain photo, you can actually see individual raindrops! Keep in mind I was ON the balcony, this was not taken through the balcony door.

The two from now are a lot darker than it actually is out there. There is a good amount of people all up and down the beach now that it has 'cleared'.
