What the Junk?!

Yeah, there were absolutely no plans to thrift today.  My friend has been saying he'd put new tires on Goontz since we've driven it so much and it was needed new tires when he got it.  He took it today and got tires.  He then wanted me to drive it to see how it felt with the new tires.  That was nice.  I switched spots with him and we went by Wendy's for me to grab a bite to eat as it was past my lunchtime.  After that, we went to Cookout so he could get a shake.  He mentioned drying on the highway and said something about Eden, NC.  I said, how about Martinsville instead.  That is what we did.  We went to the Goodwill in Martinsville and the one in Bassett (just up the road about 10 minutes).  At the first GW, I found some Avery address labels new in the package, three packs of business card binder pages, (I use these for my Starbucks cards), a purple binder with some divider inserts already in there, a cute little canvas bag, and a plastic kitchen spoon!  That was a nice little haul.  We went to the Bassett one and I found a pair of Dr. Martens in my size that looked almost brand new.  They were $40 and I didn't have that much, so my friend got them and I'm going to pay him back $10 a month for the next four months. Cool!  They are pretty cool, they are a bit shiny and look either purple or burgundy.  Just depends on the lighting.  They are very cool and I've never had a pair of Docs.  Here they are:

Cool, yes? My size, in great condition for a good price, and they are comfy!  I was very pleased to get them.  The only other thing I found in there was a puzzle.  I got it for .69¢. I really need to start working on puzzles again!  While we were out, we went by the car wash and washed Goontz.  Later, we took it by another car wash and I vacuumed it well.  My Goontz has new tires, is clean inside and out and I'm pleased! ^_^

Here is the cute little bag. It has blueberries on it! It has a tag that says, "Stonewall Kitchen" in it.  I just thought it adorable and had to have it. It rang up a whole .99¢!

Impromptu thrift trips are fun!  In other news, my set of Styluses that I ordered from Amazon came today.  I also received my order from eBay of two DS games. One is Scribblenauts and one is an Adventure Time game! YAY! The AT game is, "Hey Ice King! Why Did You Steal Our Garbage??!" :p

My charger finally came! Whee!  I have charged the DS and I'll play with it a little later.  I have been doing other stuff that needed my attention first.  I am hoping to find a few games for the DS on the next thrifting trip.  My friend texted about possibly going tomorrow, so that will be great. I'll try to find a game or two. At this point, if I can find any game for a few bucks, I might get it just to keep the slot from getting dusty. :p

The styluses are still in Raleigh with no update on them. Phooey!  I don't know what is up with that.  My hard drive is finally on its way.  It was saying, 'shipping label printed, not received by UPS' but now it's on its way. I'm happy! I am glad they were able to get my stuff, too!  I will be able to figure out everything and give the borrowed drive back to my friend.

I only wrote a little tonight. I might go back and write some more.  It has just been an off day.  I have a part coming up that is going to be fun to write, I'm looking forward to that and not wanting to do the pages in between! :p I found an Adventure Time game on eBay for the DS the other day. I put it in my watch list. I might get it as it's not expensive.  I love Adventure Time, so it would be nice to have an AT game. I also want a Mario game or two. I'm an old-school Mario girl from way back.  Well, I prefer Luigi, but there you go! :p

My internal hard drive came today.  I unpacked it and opened the Macbook Pro and pulled out the old drive.  Then, I found that I had to get the screws from the sides of the drive to put in the new one to securely mount it.  I, of course, didn't have the right screwdriver!  I looked online and Lowe's had one that was a multi head one and it was only $10 so I left the computer and ran over there and got it. Easy peasy getting those little screws out then and I have a tool for future use!

I get the new drive in and turn on the computer to do the disk copy.  Well, disk utility is being snarky. I look up information and see it's a glitch with Disk utility in Catalina that causes this and to go get a clone software.  Oh no! I thought, more money.  I found Carbon Copy Clone and it has a free trial. It's a fully functioning trial, In other words, you can do everything as if it's the full version. YES! Thank you, CCC!  If I ever need you again I'll be happy to purchase the full version.  I'm currently in the process of copying the external to the new internal and I'm hoping that goes well. It took some doing to even get everything to start but it seems to be rolling along now.

While I that is running in the background, my mail lady came. (The hard drive came via UPS) My new tags for my car came! YAY!!!!!!!!  I went out to put the back one on and I was NOT going to put the new tag in the damn front window so I got some tools and sat down and worked on getting the tag holder on the front. I had to go slowly and work diligently so that I didn't mess up my bumper.  I also had to bring something outside to sit on because the ground is still wet and pretty saturated from all the rains.  I got the little holder on and then I went and found (after a search)  the screws to attach the plate to the holder.  I had put them in the little compartment in the new car in a Ziploc but of course, I had forgotten ALL about that.  I finally remembered and put my tag on.  I now have a car with front and back tags.  I'm so proud of myself.  My friend kept saying he was going to do it but it's been since July, so... 

I went out earlier before I knew I needed a screwdriver.  I knew via informed delivery that my new tags were coming today and I wanted to take my car over to Starbucks one more time with the STARBUX tags.  I got a Peppermint white mocha (delicious) and I took a picture of the car with the tags and Starbucks in the background.  I'm silly, I know but I don't care!

Of course with all the stuff I've been doing, I haven't written for NaNoWriMo yet.  I guess I'll be writing later this evening.  That isn't a problem at all.  I really want to work on my other story too, but NaNo work comes first!  The video I watched to make sure I was removing and installing the drive correctly gave links to the things he used.  He has a little 'case' to put the internal drive in to make it run like an external. I ordered one hoping I can access the drive.  I don't think I will be able to, but you never know! I'm hoping.

My friend and I went out of town to a new place to try today.  It was in Eden, NC so not too far away.  We ate there and then went to the Goodwill in Eden. I found a few cool things and bought them.  We then came back to Danville and decided to go to the Goodwill here too.  I found this neat guy:

He is actually a wax melt warmer that is missing his lid, but I didn't know that.  I just thought he was cute so I bought him! :). The mugs on either side were two of the items I found at Goodwill in Eden.  A coffee mug with coffee all over it and a mug that has a 1986 calendar. Very cool!

I received an item in the mail today that i ordered recently on eBay.  It's a Loot Crate exclusive Ice King statue with Goontz and several other penguins.  It's so cute! Here that is:

I want to get another one so I can keep one in the box and display one!  I'll probably do that because it's just too cute not to display. I found it when looking up Gunter stuff on eBay.  I love Ice King and I don't have any merchandise with him featured. I have a shirt he is on, but the other characters are there too. I've been wanting something Ice King so this gave me Simon and Goontz! :)

I put my Gunter decal on my car and the Myrtle Beach sticker I got on the recent trip. :)

Okay, so if you are not an Adventure Time fan, that title will make no sense!  Gunter or 'Goonts' as Ice King sometimes calls her/him? is a penguin on Adventure Time.  Ice King acts as if Gunter were a boy, but considering Gunter laid an egg and hatched a kitten, he is her.  Confusing?  Yes, but if you watch Adventure Time you get used to it. LOL! So what is with Gunter thing? I named my new car Gunter!

Yes, it is now parked in my backyard.  Whee!  It's a black 2015 Nissan Versa Note and I love it! It drives so smooth.  I filled it up in Greensboro (where we bought it) and drove it home.  My friend and I went to eat while we were in Greensboro and I just followed him to the diner we ate at.  We ate and I didn't even touch mine hardly at all.  I was a bundle of nerves.  I brought home the leftovers and ate them when I got here.  I need to put it on my insurance and get my tags transferred and I'm ready to go.

The AIR WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   It actually got too cold in there for me! That is a nice change from my car with absolutely no air.  It has a CD player/radio/aux. It has hands-free calling via Bluetooth, too!  It has a 12v adapter AND a USB and aux hook up.  I can put my iPod in there and listen to audiobooks, podcasts, or music.  Very nifty.  I'm quite pleased with it.  I just want to get my tags on it so I can drive it all over the place. :P. I took a few pictures when I got in and I'll share a few.  I'll take better ones when I can. :)

So, I went to the grocery store today and I got a lot of goodies.  I still need a few things, but I'll get those later. I have plenty of goodies in the house.  For lunch, I decided that I wanted something delicious and fun.  I went to Arby's.  The line at the drive-thru was long and not moving very fast, so I parked and went in.  I got my food pretty quickly that way and headed home to eat.  It was delicious!  I remembered this time to ask for a plain bun, but they gave me the onion one. Boo!  I, luckily, had a few hamburger buns so I was able to put it on that.  It was delicious!

My friend finally carried me to Starbucks! lol This is the one that I ask all the time and she doesn't want to go.  Her son wanted to, so that did the trick. :P  I got my beloved cascara latte.  It was so good.  Also, they were doing free samples today of the Nitro cold brew.  We all got samples.  I am not a fan of cold coffee, so it wasn't really my thing, but it wasn't bad.  

I went to the grocery store a lot earlier today than I usually do.  I was hoping it wouldn't be as crowded.  the aisles themselves weren't too bad, but the registers were pretty busy.  Luckily I got checked out in a timely matter and loaded my car.  I took my cart back and then went and crossed my fingers when I started my car!   It started right up and I was able to drive it home and put my stuff away. Every single thing I got was on sale except two items!  When he hit my total, it was over $160.  After he took off the savings card, it was $101.  MUCH better!  

I didn't get a lot more done on my puzzle today, but I did get some done.  I'm working on the sky part and I got half of that done.  It's going to be a pretty puzzle.  Of course I'll share the picture of my progress below.

What am I using Evernote for today?  Well, today, I used it to share a comic about Adventure Time with friend.  I had saved it in Evernote instead of just to my computer and I was able to show him.  I love my Evernote!

Sorry about not posting for the last two days.  On Wednesday, I walked, but I got blisters.  This was unusual.  I was not happy about that.  That evening, I fully intended to post to my blog and I got to doing other things I forgot.  I did a puzzle that day and wanted to share it.  I'll share it today.

First though, let's talk about yesterday.  I didn't walk.  I woke up feeling pretty bleah and out of sorts.  I decided I'd walk later in the day.  I took a nap, and relaxed.  I didn't feel like doing much.  My friend texted me and asked if I wanted to try one of the restaurants here in town we've wanted to try but have't yet.  I said, yes!  It's a local Italian restaurant. It was delicious.  I got Fettuccini Alfredo. OMG it was so good.  They serve it with a bread roll and Foccia bread.   Yummy!  I enjoyed it a lot.  Definitely a place to go back to!

When we got back to my house, my friend put some stuff in my car to see if it would help it run a little better. We drove around a bit to see if it helped.  It didn't. lol Oh well! After he left, I got in my mail and saw that I had a sample of dog treats.  I got them to give to my friend's dog.  I went up to their house and treats were passed out all around. lol . I stayed awhile and then headed home.  I didn't start my next puzzle because it was late.  I decided to wait until today.  I worked the whole thing. lol  Here is the one from two days ago and today's:

These were both from the box of 6.  The first was 300 pieces and the second was 500.  I'll probably do the last puzzle in the box tomorrow (or at least start it).  I also decided to put some of my Adventure Time stickers to good use.  I put them on the MacBook Pro.  I laid them out and figured out the design before sticking them on.  I wanted to put on Marcy and PB too, but I didn't have room.  I like the way the ones I put on look.  Here is that:

I love my Adventure Time episode tracker! I used some of my Adventure Time stickers. Here is the finished product: 

The Adventure Time logo at the bottom isn't a sticker. It came off some packaging and I just made a color copy. I love my spread. I am going to alternate the blue and yellow pens to mark episodes as I watch them. It's going to be fun! 

My walk was really hot today, but I got it in. Gladly, today is the last day of the festival! I probably won't be able to walk through the park tomorrow, but I should be able to by Wednesday at the latest. When I got home, cooled off, and relaxed, I worked on my puzzle. I finished it! 

So, I have been wanting to do an episode tracker in my bujo for some time.  I thought I'd do it for Adventure Time!  I printed out a list of all the episodes so I can do a layout in my bujo.  I want to put all the episode names, but that might take up too much room. I haven't decided exactly how I plan to do it.  We'll see!

As for walking, I did just that today.  It was very hot as I expected and it was not easy to convince myself to go, but I did it!  The park wasn't too bad when I went by.  I had to go around people a few times, but it was only on the way down.  On the way back, I avoided it completely. Instead of walking the sidewalk in front of the shopping center, I cut through the sidewalk IN the shopping center.  I didn't have to walk around anyone that way.

I came home and it took a while to cool down.  I was hot, I was sweaty, and most of my clothes were wet from that. Eww!  I finally cooled off, changed and started on my next puzzle.  I got a good portion of it done too.  I decided to stop and go mow.  I got the back park done that I didn't do last time.  I'll have to do the front tomorrow or Monday and again next Sunday before we leave for the beach.  That way, it will be done the day before we leave and hopefully it won't get too bad between then and when we get back that Sunday.

Here is the puzzle so far.  I might do a few more pieces before bed, but I might not.  I was up too late again last night and I'm certainly feeling it today!

Spring Fling, you ask?  That is the name of the design on the blog at the moment.  I always loved this one a lot and was able to get it to show up correctly.  Typepad support was able to get to display when I couldn't.  I went and changed something and then went back to it and it wouldn't display correctly. D'oh! I went in and did some more work and got it to display.  I'm not sure why my blog is giving me so many issues.  Boo on that!  Oh well, it's up.  I didn't realize that when I had the Macaroons, I didn't have my link list.  It is now back.  I might even try again with the GoodNotes widget.  Maybe it will work now? Who knows! :P

So today, when I was supposed to walk, it was raining off and on.  My weather apps all said different things!  I decided to not walk at my usual time and hope it was okay later.  I was able to get a walk in a bit after 5pm. It's a good thing I went when I did!  It rained and stormed off and on after that!  I was glad to have my walk completed.  I was home well before the storms hit. I even stopped off at CVS on my way back and picked up a few essentials that I needed.  One was buy one get one half off but they only had the one. The nice cashier gave me 25% off the item so that worked out well. I also had a $5.00 coupon for $5.00 in Extra bucks and used that.  I had over $10 worth of items and I ended up paying $3.00 and some change.  Nice!

I couldn't wash my hair when I came home because I need to cool down and relax for a moment.  Then, it was lightning, so I had to wait.  I just got that done and I'm sitting here with my hair up in a turby twist thingee.  I did not want to sit under the hair bonnet dryer.  I just hope it dries before bedtime. I don't usually wait this late to wash it!  My bed linen is in the dryer and I just need to get that and put it back on the bed.

I am in serious need of a snack.  Too bad I don't have any snacks in the house.  I do have some popsicles though.  They can be a nice cool snack. :p . I have been working on my packing list for the beach trip as I go along.  I already have a ton of shirts to carry.  I carry more than I need because when I walk during the day, I come back to the room all hot and sweaty and I don't want to wear that shirt if we go out in the evening.  I'm going to pack enough so I'll have at least two shirts a day.  I also figured I could wash some in the sink and toss them on the balcony to dry and re-wear them.  

Speaking of shirts, I was looking on eBay and I came across a really cute Finn one.  It was a Loot Crate exclusive.  It will shock anyone who knows me.  It doesn't have Jake on it anywhere! LOL . It was just too cute to pass up and since it was in a Loot Crate, I wouldn't have been able to get it any other way.  I paid less than $10 for it shipped, so I'm pretty happy about that!  

I wanted to order myself a Dead Dog Saloon shirt from DD at Murrell's Inlet, but they don't have any of their shirts on their site for sale at the moment.  Weird!  I am hoping we'll go to the Dead Dog while we are down there, but there is no guarantee.  If we do, I'm probably going to get a shirt.  

I have filled up my Beach Trip Bingo completely now except for one space!  I still need to figure out what to put in that space.  I made sure to only put things in there that I knew we'd do or things I could get to on my own.  My friend sometimes gets cranky and doesn't want to do certain things, so I only put things on there that I know I can accomplish.  Examples include: Visit the Gay Dolphin, Starbucks, Walk on beach, etc.  It's going to be fun to fill my bingo card. ^_^

Okay, I think I've rambled on enough for one day!  I need to get a few more things done and then I'm going to relax for a bit.  I'm currently reading a zombie book that is pretty boring. LOL . It's not that it's boring, really, I just don't care for the characters.  I'm going to try to finish it so I can get on to something else!  Wish me luck!  I also plan to try the Goodreads widget again. If you don't see a Goodreads widget on my blog by Monday, I failed again. :P

I added a sticker to the front of my bullet journal. It is one of the Adventure Time stickers that I got on Amazon recently. I think it's perfect!

I just watched the Adventure Time finale. OH MY GLOB!  OH MY GLOB! OH MY GLOB!  I can't even talk about it.  I don't want to spoil anyone that may not have seen it yet. It was EPIC.

Sorry about last night's post.  I got to watching Adventure Time on Hulu and it was too late to pull out my Macbook Pro to make a post, so I just typed up a quick one with the Goodyear blimp picture!  It was in my city this weekend.  I saw it go over while on my walk and took several pictures of it.  I've loved seeing it since I was a little girl. My daddy worked at Goodyear when I was growing up. ^_^

Today I woke up and it was hotter than it had been yesterday.  Yesterday's walk was horrid because of the heat.  I decided today that I would just skip it!  I did, too!  The fact that it was well after 4 am when I got to sleep last night probably had a lot to do with it too.  I was just so tired this morning.  I'll get back on track tomorrow.  I just hope it isn't as hot.  I didn't do my workouts today either. ^^;  Yeah, it was a lazy day.  I haven't felt too great lately, so I think a day off of doing nothing might help.  I can't be sick now, I leave for Myrtle Beach on Sunday! ^____________^  I can't wait to -post from the beach.  Yes, the MBP is going with me.  We'll be staying at a place we've never stayed before, so I'll have a new place to explore.  I think there is a coffee shop in the hotel.  Not a Starbucks, but still that is cool!

My friend recently got a puppy.  I hadn't seen it until today.  I was coming back from my walk and I saw her in the yard. I thought she was walking Cocoa the mini wiener dog that I love so much, but it was the puppy.  Since I haven't met him yet, I had to go see.  He has puppy breath and he is adorable!  He is a Boxer pup and so cute.  He whined when I left. Awww! I told her I was going to steal him. lol

I drove down to the post office this evening after going to McDonald's.  I had an alert on my phone that through the McDonald's app, you could get any medium McCafe beverage for FREE with a $1 order!  I decided to treat myself to a fry. :P  I used mobile payment for the first time there. It was pretty cool.  I ordered and paid.  I typed which 'bay' I was in and they brought my order out to me.  Pretty neat.

Since I was out, I went to the post office.  I had seven letters. YIKES!  I already have four to write and I have exactly 8 stamps.  HELP!!!!! lol  I am going to write the four I already have tonight or tomorrow and then I'll get to the others.  I hope to get some stamps asap!

I am STILL waiting on my payment to clear at Fingerhut so they will ship my Fitbit.  I'm getting so impatient.  I wish I had the money to order one from Fitbit themselves. I would probably already have it. I hate waiting.  I swear I've had other things clear the bank that have come out after that transaction.  So annoying!  If I had anything to sell, I would certainly do it.  I thought at one time of opening an Etsy shop, but I need a sewing machine if I want to do anything with fabric.  I can do repairs on my stuff, but to create something, I'd want a sewing machine!

I wish I still had some stuff to sell on Ebay.  Any extra money would help me a lot.  I shouldn't have gotten anything today from McDonald's, but the free coffee was too tempting! :p  I have money on my Starbucks card, so I'm covered there.  I hope to get over there soon.  I haven't had any since the beach trip.  I am hoping they have cascara syrup.  I want a cascara latte!

I got in a good walk today and then came home and did my workouts. I'm glad it was arm day, because my poor butt is still sore from yesterday's butt workouts. lol  OUCH!  I finished the book I was reading last night and started on a book about Ted Bundy. I've read many books about him, but not this one.  It's good so far.  

OH! I forgot to mention.  Sometime ago, I found a cute double pencil / pen case on Amazon that I loved.  It was an Adventure Time pen case with Finn and Jake on it.  I loved it but it was over twenty dollars and that didn't include shipping!  I recently found it on ebay by accident and I ordered it. I came today and it's so cute!  Here is a couple of pictures:
