I forgot to post yesterday. Sorry about that. It was a pretty boring day, so there wasn't much to post about. Today isn't much different. lol I am currently waiting on an Amazon package. The truck is five stops away. As soon as I get that, I'm going to move from my desk to my bed and relax a bit. I've already written, and I have leftovers for dinner, so I'm good! Come on Amazon guy!

I have accomplished all my chores for today. Bed linen and hair washed, yesterday's laundry put away, and I wrote. I had a few other things that needed doing and I did those too. Now, I'm going to relax a bit like I did yesterday. I have an Amazon package that was supposed to arrive tomorrow, but now it's coming today. I was hoping it would be here by now. Oh well! I listened to the Shortwave a bit earlier yesterday and that was nice. It was fun to listen at a time when I usually don't. I might do that again today. I just wish the Prime truck would come! :)
So, it's my birthday. Another year down in this so-called life. I didn't do much. I had a delivery from Amazon Prime. I bought myself some rechargeable batteries to use in my Shortwave radio and they came today. Exciting, huh? :p
I was able to get 8 AA batteries. My little Eton takes four so I can use four and have another set charging or charged ready as a backup. They were less than $10 so that was a great deal. I tried several different 6-volt adapters and all caused static so batteries were the way to go. I didn't want to have to keep buying batteries all the time, so I went for some rechargeable ones. I can't wait to try them and see how long they go. That last set of regular batteries that I put in my radio have lasted a lot longer than the first set. I was able to turn off the lighted display when it's not in use and that helped immensely! I've been on this set for at least a week now. The others had only lasted a few days. I'm hoping to get at least a couple of weeks' charge out of the rechargeable ones when I start using those.
I had to run out to get my birthday drink from Starbucks! I also got gas while out because I got 20 cents extra off of gas today because of the reward card I use and it is my birthday. I already get 5¢ a gallon off with them, so today it was .25¢. I washed Goontz while out and went by the grocery store. I wanted a small cake for my birthday, but like last year, all they had left was chocolate. ~_~; I got cupcakes instead. Of course, I FORGOT that I bought cupcakes when I got to Starbucks and got a lime-frosted oat bar to go with my latte. :p Oops.
I went by the post office while out. I haven't checked my box in a while. I also needed to mail off something. Hopefully, I'll get a QSL from that soon! I had a yellow card in my box so now I have to go back during regular hours and stop by the desk. Not sure what that is. Nothing has shown up in informed delivery. Hmm.
So, busy day, I totally forgot that I do laundry today and just put that in to start washing a bit ago. I probably will not be putting that away today! lol. Right now, I'm just trying to cool down from all the running around. I want to pull out the Shortwave and see what's going on the bands. I meant to get to that earlier but it's been a day!
So, I used to listen to Shortwave radio and I really loved doing it. I thought about it recently and thought I'd like to get back into it. Well, I ordered a radio on Amazon and it came. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting and it didn't pick up anything on SW. So, I sent it back and got another brand that I had been looking at. It came today. It was an Amazon warehouse item. Now, I've gotten things from there before with no issues, always brand new, maybe damaged packaging or re-packaged. What came today just really upset me.
The little radio comes in its little leather case. It's in a box inside the display box. It has a manual and the radio in the box. Well, my package comes and I can actually FEEL the radio through the paper envelope. I open it and there is the radio, in just that inner box, the inner box is damaged and so is the back of the leather case. So, it's damaged, just floating around free in the package, no manual or anything else. I automatically set up a return. If only the box had been damaged and not the case you use on the radio, I might have kept it, I might even have then, but I was upset with no manual and the way it was sent. I already have the refund to my account as I ran out and dropped it at UPS. I ordered the exact same radio for less than $8 more brand new. Hopefully, it will come intact! Sheesh! The radio is a lot smaller than I'm used to, my old Shortwave radios were a bit larger, but I can adapt as it's a very nice one and cute, too. Plus, it will be good for travel as it's smaller. By the way, the one I got from the Amazon warehouse? It said, "LIKE NEW" Like new my butt! :P
Today was going okay, I got my writing done. I edited yesterday's work as it really needed it and wrote for today. CampNaNoWriMo is done! I will continue on with this story, and I hope to revisit my two other WIP soon. I was sitting relaxing when I started hearing low bass music. After several weeks of quiet from my idiot neighbors, they decided to go ALL OUT today. It was so loud and so bad that I had to leave my house. I only have air conditioning in my bedroom, and it's HOT so there was no escaping the damn noise in my house. While I was out, I called my friend that lives up the street. She lives just on the other side of these people and she has had her own issues with them.
Other than that, the day was okay. I got my laundry washed AND put away. That is rare for me. I also used one of my many bottles of sauce! lol, I DID let Amazon know. They were great, I can keep or donate the extra. Very nice. I will definitely use it all, it just might take a bit of time. I have eleven more jars to go! Now, I am just going to try to relax a bit before bedtime. I haven't been sleeping well, so I'm hoping to crash hard tonight!
I ordered my sauce and a few other things on Amazon as I told you. Well, they arrived today. It was one order, but they shipped separately, I guess they didn't have all the items at the same warehouse. In any case, they both were delivered together today. So, both are heavy. The only thing I ordered that should be even slightly heavy is the three bottles of sauce. They even divided those up! I open the first box and see a square box inside with my barbeque sauce. It's a box of four! What? I go and open the other package and it has the rest of my items and two more square boxes. Yes, they sent me three cases of my sauce for the price of one bottle! I am not sure what to do about that. I will use it all, so it's no problem. Also, the dates are great, 2024 for two boxes and 2025 for the third. I am going to contact Amazon and let them know about the issue. What a crazy thing to happen. All the other items I ordered are there and in the correct quantities, so that is good. We'll see what they say, I am going to do a support chat, but I am not going to start that tonight as it's late. I'll contact them tomorrow!
So, my air conditioner has been making a lot of noise lately. It's also spitting out some water at times, too. I was afraid it might die during the night one night while I was trying to sleep. I have enough sleeping issues as it is, I don't need more! So, I decided, reluctantly to pull it out and put in the other one I have. The one I put in is newer and fancier but it just does not cool as well as the older one. Plus, it doesn't smell as good either! LOL! It's in there. I had to move my desk and several things out of the way to get to the window. I got everything nearby so I could take one out and put one in. I had some issues, but I finally got it going. It's sad how much colder the other one was. Oh well, it's better to have one that isn't going to stop in the middle of the night, right?
The amount of water that dripped on my floor when I pulled this out was crazy! I have let it sit ever since and finally got it up and carried it to where I stored the other one. There is a damp patch on the floor. It will dry up soon, I hope! I'm glad I have the swap done. It was a crazy time. :p
In other news, I did my Camp writing. I've already gone over 50,000 words on this work, well the entire work is a LOT more than that, but I've added just over 55,000 words during Camp and will update my word count on the site for the remainder. I will either continue on with this one in August or go back to one of my two other words in progress. I have ideas for both of those!
By the way, I WAS able to buy some of my favorite BBQ sauce on Amazon last night. :p I also found a few more food-related things and added them to my order. :) I still need to go to the grocery store for a few things I couldn't get there, but I can do that later. I'm good for now.

I ordered a case for this similar to the one I found in Goodwill and it's being delivered to an Amazon locker down here. We will be picking that up at some point. Guess who got a new case for her phone today? Did you guess me? Well you guessed right! :p I love the case I had, but it got ink stains on it and I cannot get them out. I was going to order another one just like the one I had, but I thought I'd look and see what else I found. I haven't looked up cases since I first got the phone. I found some with the movable sparkly stuff and it was my color! It's a teal blue and clear and it's so pretty! It was pretty inexpensive, so I ordered it and it came today. I love getting Sunday deliveries from Amazon! :D
So, it came today and I opened it and I fell in love. It's so pretty! I tried to take a good picture of it, but I had to use things other than my Pixel and it has the best camera. I took about 49028493284902 pictures and came up with two that I'll share. lol Here we are:
Neither picture does it justice. You get the idea, though, right? :p I am glad I did get the white Pixel since the top part of the case is clear. It looks so nice with the blue at the bottom of the case. I am extra, so I went in and changed the keyboard in Swiftkey from a pink one to a blue one. :p I'm silly, I know, but it looks nice. The first picture was taken with my iPod touch and the second one was with my camera. Neither would be as good as if I could take it with my Pixel's camera. It's hard to take a picture of your phone in a case with the case on! :P Maybe I'll do a bathroom selfie with it tomorrow! lol
My friend and I went on a midweek thrift trip. We went to Reidsville. We ate at Camela's. It was delicious. We were going to Salvation Army as we had enough time, but they are closed on Wednesday. D'oh! We went to Goodwill and I found a few things. An old Tupperware divided plate (I have the plate but it's broken, so I was happy to find another one), a Halloween mug, a Seattle mug, a green plastic box (vintage check box), and a little souvenir 'horse' made of wood. The head is a clothespin! lol, It says "Straight from the horse's mouth" on it. It's cute! Since we didn't find a lot in there, we went to Mayodan to that Goodwill we just discovered last week. I found a lot of stuff in here. Two ceramic jack o lanterns (one small, one large), a pink zipper pouch (for small electronics, two grab bags of pencil and pens, (one had two Tombow brush pens in it! I didn't even see them when I picked it up), a SakRoots wallet, three desk bins (one long, one shorter, and a pencil cup), a pack of refills for a Zebra pen and a broken pen (I ordered a replacement pen on Amazon.), some Halloween string lights, and a secret message writing set. It had two invisible ink pens in it. Very cute. I think that is all. It was a good haul! We enjoyed this Goodwill much more this time. On the last trip, they were very busy, and it was hard to even look at stuff. This time, they weren't that busy and we were able to take our time.
That is basically what this is! I wanted to protect my desk to keep it from any issues so I looked up desk mats. I found one that would fit my desk. The writing surface isn't huge, so I had to measure it to get the right size. The only thing is, the smallest one height-wise is also the smallest one lengthwise! I wish I could get one that covered the majority of my desk. For now this will do.
It's nice, it's pink on one side and blue on the other. When I was looking these up and had ordered this one, I remembered I had an old Yoga mat that I didn't use anymore. It wasn't a real thick one and it was blue on one side and green on the other. I was thinking, I could cut this and make my own custom mat for my desk. There is only one problem. I can't find the Yoga mat! I moved it from the container I keep my other mats in. It only holds four and I took this one out to fit those in. Now, I can't remember what I did with the other mat. D'oh! I was thinking it would look pretty good on my desk and it would get used, but I can't find it. It's around here somewhere! :p
So, that came yesterday. Today I got another two packages from Amazon. I ordered a set of washi that has been on my wish list forever and I also ordered some coffee stickers! They had a set of 40 some (45 I think?) for $4 and some change. I looked and they had the same display box but it had twice as many stickers for $5 and change. I ordered that and I'm glad I did. It was two of the first one. So, an extra set of stickers for just a few dollars more. Good deal! Here are the stickers and the washi:
The stickers are neat. There are two of each design in the box so I have four of each with the two boxes. The washi is pretty and it's one of my favorite brands I've found on Amazon, it's Moleshine brand. Always nice quality and very pretty! As you can see on the bottom left of the washi box, they added a skinny roll, too!
Yesterday, my friend and I went to Reidsville and ate at Pete's and then went thrifting. At the Goodwill, he found a TomTom GPS and bought it and said it was for me! Yay! It's an older one, but it works well and it's got a nice size screen. He had bought me a tiny TomTom at the Goodwill in Longs SC on the way home from the last beach trip and I liked it, but it was hard to push the screen as it was so small. He saw this one and bought it. We set it up and it works fine. The maps may be a bit out of date, but they should be okay. It will still get us where we need to go, just maybe not to a specific restaurant or whatnot if we don't have the address. It will be nice to have a GPS in my car so I don't have to use my phone and Google Maps. I love my Google, but I don't want to run down my phone battery!
The day before that, when I forgot to post again, I went and got my car washed, filled up with gas, and got my oil changed They charged $10 more than last time and I wasn't very happy about that but I needed the oil change so I went ahead and got it. I like keeping on top of any maintenance on my Goontz!
What am I babbling about? Well, I ordered a laptop bag today for the MBP since my laptop bag was too small, yes, I could use the sleeve and I might use that too at times, but I wanted an actual bag. I ordered one on Amazon and I also ordered a clear snap-on case for the MBP. It's blue and clear. This MBP is in such great shape so it will look so nice in that case. I looked at a lot of cases. The ones I really wanted were $20 and up. This one was $10 and it looked nice. I hope I like it. I am not a fan of the 'frosted' look and that is the case that is on it now. I could have gotten a pink one but my new laptop bag is pink. That is too much pink! :p. The laptop bag came in black (too basic), blue (not a good shade) and grey (I think). I liked the pink the best. It's pretty cool. It opens completely. If you pulled the zipper down, you can lay the bag out flat. The laptop goes in the big sleeve side and there are two smaller pockets on the other side and it has an outside pocket. I like it. I hope I picked right by getting the pink. I like pink in limited doses. :p
As for I'll be ready to go and I can't go. I can pack up my laptop to go out, but that is really not an option now. I miss going out and sitting in Starbucks on my laptop. I am getting the bag and case with the hope that a future time will be back to normal and I can go sit in Starbucks! I shouldn't have bought them both this month, I'm low on money because my personal property taxes were due and my post office box was due. I plan to go to the post office tomorrow and check my box, pay for my po box, and get any letters. Then I hope to write all my letters. Any that are at the post office and any at home. I need to buy stamps too. I haven't had any in a while. I want to get my letters caught up and sent out asap!

So, I got up today and even though UPS doesn't usually get here until later in the day, I went and peeked out and saw a package! I went and got it and it was this small flat box. I thought that cannot be my Kindle! It was from Amazon though so I opened it. It was my Kindle! YAY! I like the.enviroental packaging. The Kindle comes in a slim box. It has the Kindle itself, a quick start guide, and a cord. I opened everything and turned the Kindle on. It turned on. YAY! I got to set it up and play with it today. I really like it. I sideloaded the books I have on my computer in Calibre and Amazon automatically downloaded the books I had on the old Kindle that I had purchased from them. I love that I can created collections like I did on my Kindle keyboard. I don't want just a bunch of book covers as organization. I put it on list view and then created a few collections. I still have several to go, but for now, I've already started a book!
As I was looking around on the Amazon site, I saw a true crime book that looked good and it was borrowable via Prime reads. I am seriously considering doing Kindle Unlimited again. I knew when I was looking up a lot of zombie fiction, some of the titles I wanted were available to read on Kindle Unlimited, so I might just do that. With the new Kindle, I got an offer for a three-month free trial, so I'm probably going to do that. I can decide at that time if I can find enough to read to warrant the expense. I'm thinking I probably will, but we'll see!
I got done writing just a few minutes ago and I was eight words from 25,000. I fixed that immediately! I added eight words and I hit the 25,000 mark. I'm very happy with myself! Go me!
In other news, I went to the recycle bins today, finally! I get to the parking lot where they are and there were THREE people there in THREE different cars recycling. I waited until they all left and was able to go to the bins and get mine done without anyone being there. People are so stupid! Not one of them had on a mask and they were all up on top of each other. UGH!
While I already out, I went to get some gas. It's so cheap now, I only got $12 worth but I should have just filled it as it was almost full when I got in the car! I like cheap gas. It should last me a while since I'm not really going anywhere.
When I got home, I realized that I needed to mow the back. The front was looking just a bit shaggy, but not too bad. I went ahead and did it anyway. I got a good part of the back yard done too. I still have a section that needs to be done, but it can wait. It's not visible from the street and it's not too bad back there just yet. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so that will give me an excuse to wait an extra day! lol!
My Kindle is supposed to be here tomorrow! Yay! The case JUST shipped today! LOL. I had a NookColor back in the day and I have a pink leather sleeve case for it, so I can use it for the Kindle until my hard case comes in. :)
Here it is, Monday again. I swear I don't know what day it is half the time anymore. Thanks, COVID- 19! I woke up a lot earlier than my alarm this morning. I got up to go to the bathroom and I was totally awake so there was no going back to bed. D'oh! Oh well, hopefully tonight I'll get to sleep early and crash until my alarm tomorrow.
I just finished writing for CampNaNoWriMo. I got a little over 1700 words today. It's going along pretty well! I was feeling sort of meh earlier and was going to just type a few words but I kept at it and got in what I did. That made me happy! I also had no nose bleeds today or overnight and that made me happy too! I was afraid I'd wake up with a mess but I didn't. I'm being very careful! I think the air purifier that my friend suggested it helping.
Oh! I mentioned yesterday that I was watching one of the earliest Starbucks cards on eBay. The seller offered me a deal today on it so I got it! :). I will be so happy to have that in my collection! It's in excellent condition and the pin is covered. Yay! The three that I won yesterday were shipped out today.
As for my Kindle, it is now saying it will be here Wednesday. Better than Friday! The only thing is the case for it hasn't shipped! lol. This is the reverse of last time. I got the case and then the Kindle. This time it looks like I'll get the Kindle and then the case. :p
I have something to keep it in for a few days so it will be okay. The case was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday so it may come the same day. I keep hoping that UPS will update and show the Kindle being delivered tomorrow. I can hope, right?!
