Double Star Day and NaNo stickers!

So, it was double star day at Starbucks today.  I told myself yesterday that if I actually walked today, I could go to Starbucks. If I didn't go for my walk, no Starbucks for me!  I walked! It was overcast, but it didn't rain.  It was too terribly cold but it wasn't great either!  I got in my walk and came home.  When I was walking by my friend's house, there was a red balloon tied to the pole at the street.  My friend's hubby, (also a friend) was outside with their German Shepard.  I mentioned the balloon and realized he did it. lol I had mentioned that I had been listening to IT on my daily walks. We Geeks have to stick together! :P

I got home from my walk and relaxed a bit. I decided to run to the post office.  I only had one piece of mail, but it was an anticipated one.  It was a NaNo postcard and a NaNo sticker that my ML sent me for participating in a virtual write in! I scanned the sticker into my MBP and printed myself out a sheet of them to use in my Bujo and other places.  The original one will reside in the pocket in my bujo until I decide where it's going to be permanently. It's got a lot of blue in it and I was thinking of putting it on my 2019 bujo!  I'll see what I come up with.

Before I went to the post office, I went to Starbucks and got a cascara latte.  Yummmmmmm I swear it was the best one I've had in a long time.  They are always good, but this one was just extra delicious.  Of course today would be the day I got a tall instead of a venti! Sheesh! Lol

I might not be able to walk again tomorrow. BOOO.  It's supposed to be nasty here tomorrow.  There were plenty of places today where there was mud and junk from the earlier rain.  The river has flooded several places and part of the Riverwalk are under water yet again!  My route is pretty water free except for the muddy sidewalks.  Those are gross and I have to walk extremely slow on them so I don't slip and fall!

I ran to the grocery store this evening to pick up a few things. I got a thing of their deli chicken bites.  They were okay, but htey were a bit plain.  If I'd had some gravy to dip them in, it would have been better!  I've been wanting some fried chicken for awhile now. I still want some. LOL . Hopefully I'll get some good chicken soon!

I got 1825 words written for NaNo today! Go me!  If tomorrow is gross and rainy, and I can't walk, I have plans!  I have been meaning to set up my 2019 bullet journal. I finally decided to go with the Leuchtturm1917. It's ice blue and it just looks like a great one to start the year in. ^_^ I'll use my Lemome either for 2020 or for something else entirely.  I am anxious to set up the new bujo.  I just know once I set it up, I'll want to move to it.  :p

Booo!

So, I didn't walk today either.  I woke up with a horrible headache.  The idea of going out in the cold and wet was not very appealing.  I decided to lay back down after eating breakfast and taking some Advil.  I actually napped on and off for several hours.  Luckily, when I got up, my headache was gone.  So glad for that!  I only ran out once this afternoon to hit a Pokestop so I wouldn't lose my streak.  I did that and came right back home.

I spend the day not doing much. I watched some true crime shows on Prime and I watched Sunday's episode of The Simpsons.  I didn't even think about it yesterday!  I decided that updating my Mac would be a great idea tonight and started it and then I was stuck.  I had nothing to review for writing on NaNo tonight.  I just opened the old MacBook and opened Bean and wrote.  I got some of my writing done and then the update was done on the MacBook Pro.  I connected them over the network and transferred over what I had written.  I put it in Scrivener and finished my writing for the day.  After I type this out, I'm going to relax and read before bed.  I plan to walk tomorrow.  It's supposed to be overcast, but I don't think it's supposed to rain.  It's also double star day at Starbucks, so I might just go over there and do NaNo tomorrow night and write some pen pals letters.  We'll see how that goes!

Brrr!

Today's walk was rather chilly! It was only in the 40's today and the wind was blowing. It wasn't so bad when it wasn't windy, but when it was.  BRRR!  I got my walk in though and then came home and put on warm 'at home' clothes which include 'give up on life pants' (sweat pants) lol . I actually turned my heater on in my room for the first time today!  I had brought it in a while ago, but I hadn't turned it on yet.  I finally broke down today and turned it on.

Last night, my friend needed to go to Target to pick up some things and I rode with him.  I saw some gift cards at Starbucks as we were leaving that I'd missed the night before.  He was on a schedule so I didn't get to look at them.  I ran back over there tonight and got the ones they have that I didn't have.  I now have 11 of the holidays cards. I think there are about 50 this year. Yikes! LOL I took a picture of the ones I had so when I get to the regular Starbucks and go in, I will know which ones I already have.  My collection is really growing!

I was going to get a drink at the Starbucks in Target but there was a long line and it's usually only one person working the Starbucks in there.  I decided to hit the drive thru of the regular one. I did that and came home with my delicious caramel brulee latte!  It was so good.  I got home and realized that I needed a few staples at the grocery store, so I decided to go.  I figured wiht it being a little later in the day (after 7) it wouldn't be as crowded and I was right.  I got sugar, bananas, cheese, Coke, ketchup, bread, and 3 froxen dinners. My favorite ones.  They were 2/$5 and buy two, get one free. So technically, 3/$5.  i was lucky with my bread.  Sometimes they won't have any of it as I buy a kind that they don't stock a lot of. It's Heiner's 35 if you are interested.  Each slice is only 35 calories and it tastes like regular bread to me.  They had one loaf and I grabbed it!

I came home and was sort of slacking off.  I finally opened Scrivener and wrote my NaNo words for today.  I'm now officially over 20000! Yay!  I've done my French and I'm blogging now, so the only thing I need to do is some work in my bullet journal and then I'm going to climb into bed and read.  I'm still reading the book about Marie Hilley.  I'm getting near the end.  I put it on hold for a few days early on in NaNo.  I hope one of my holds at the library show up soon so I'll have something to read when I'm done with it.

I'm almost done with IT, too. I've been listening to the audiobook on my daily walks.  I think I'm going to load the Dark Tower books on my iPod touch to listen to after IT.  I should be finished with IT tomorrow and then I'll re-start that epic journey to the Tower again. ^_^

Hello!

Yeah, I didn't forget to post last night.  I had some crazy house issues!  Let me tell you about my day yesterday and then we'll get to today, okay?  Well, I got in a good walk yesterday.  I came home and did some things around the house.  I decided to take a hot bath since I hadn't had a good soak in a while.  This was the start of my misery! Lol . The bath itself was lovely.  I got out and went to do other things. I went back and noticed that the tub hadn't drained any.  Also, my faucet leaks so it wasn't draining and the faucet was just making things worse!  I took a bucket and got out as much water as I could and then put a towel down to catch the rest.  I put a bucket in to catch the drips and then went to do something else.  I come back and the drip isn't all going into the bucket and the tub is starting to get water again.  UGH!  I was in there plunging like nobody's business! LOL!  I worked on it so long I was sweating and getting more frustrated. My friend texted me and I gave a terse, "ok" reply.  He asked if anything was wrong. I told him what was going on and that I was just frustrated.  He offered to come and try to fix it.  I didn't want him to since it was already after 11pm and he works early in the mornings.  He came anyway! He was able to get it to drain. YAY!  By the time he did that and left, it was after midnight!

I had been working on NaNo before all the water issues happened and didn't get to finish.  I had the lowest word count I've had since I started.  I only had 1525 words last night.  I updated my count at NaNo and just decided that since I've been going over every day, that wasn't going to hurt.  I was right as I wrote 2358 tonight! Whoo!  I have now hit 16,000 words! WHEE!  I happened to notice that the Pizza Hut site had a deal on a large two topping pizza.  Guess what I had for dinner?  I had my NaNo pizza after all! I had already hit my goal of 10,000.  I have to hit that before I treat myself to the pizza.  I shouldn't have gotten it, but it was a lot cheaper than I was expecting so I got it! It was delicious and I have leftovers for tomorrow!

So, I had to run an errand to Target right before my writing session tonight. I went to the Starbucks in there and asked if they honored the happy hour special that the regular Starbucks did.  They do, so I got my grande Cascara latte. Half price Starbucks? I'm there!  I also got several of the holiday gift cards to add to my collection AND a cup.  I had the red cup and green cup already. I wanted the white cup with the green leaves and red coffee cherries on it.  The cup I got wasn't that one and I mentioned to the Barista that I'd been hoping for the other one.  She gave me one. ^___^ So, I got my errands done, got some new cards for my collection and got the cup I wanted to add to my collection. :)

I did walk today too.  I have done my French lesson too.  The new colors and banner have been up for a few days here on the blog. I'm still not sure if I love them yet. LOL . I don't hate them, so that is good. I guess they'll stay for a bit.  Of course, knowing me, I might change them tomorrow! LOL!

Issues, issues!

So, I came to do some editing to my blog. I wanted to change my banner and my program wasn't working.  I finally got it open and working and i still haven't gotten around to getting the banner created.  Hopefully I'll get it done before midnight. :P  I didn't want to let the day pass without posting.  I didn't walk today, but I did go vote, I mailed 11 letters and picked up three more at the post office!  I also got my NaNo in.  I am off to do my French and work on this banner. If it works out well, I'll have a new banner and colors on the blog tonight or tomorrow.

UPDATE:  I created a new banner and changed the colors of the layout.  I am not sure if I love it or hate it!

Almost a bad day!

So, I got up today and I was getting ready for my walk.  I was going to toss something in the dryer for a bit.  I had already started my bed linen in the wash.  The dryer wouldn't start!  Oh no!  I messed with it for a bit but I had to leave it and ate breakfast and went for my walk.  I figured if I couldn't get it started when I got home, I'd have to carry my linen to the laundry and dry them there.  I really didn't want to do this as I am extremely short on funds this month and that would have taken money I didn't ned to be spending. Plus, I'd have to go somewhere and get cash back since I never carry cash.  The dryer had done this exact same thing before and my friend came and unplugged it, took it apart, couldn't find anything wrong with it and put it back together and plugged it in.  It worked! LOL!  So, I decided, I'm going to do that too!

I didn't take the back off, but I did unplug it and check the 'hose' that goes into the wall.  I re-seated that and cleaned out some of the lint.  I put the dryer back carefully, turned it on and it worked! YAY!  I didn't have to go to the laundromat and I didn't have to leave.  I was a happy camper. It's nice when something actually goes right for me every now and then.  I put my bed linen in and it dried it.

I did other errands around the house that needed doing and I ran out and got some gas.  I plan to go to Starbucks at least once to write during NaNo and i was low on gas.  I didn't get a lot, because like I said, I'm low on funds.  I had extra bills this month and it's really screwed me up.  I need to buy stamps.  I need to write letters, too!  I'll write my letters tomorrow and get them mailed off.

As for NaNo, I did get that done for today. I wrote 2022 words!  I have been on a roll.  I am glad to get several early days with extra words in case I have days later that I need the buffer.  It's always good to have it.  Sadly, my pizza tradition after I hit 10,000 words will not be realized this month.  I don't have enough to do that as I'm already going to struggle to make it through.  Oh well!

Whoo!

I just hit 6538 at a word count!  Day three of NaNo and I'm already at 6500! Go me.  I actually could have written more tonight, but I have been gone and busy for most of the day so I have a few things I need to do before bed.  I figured where I stopped was a great place to stop for tonight.  I did that and then updated my count.  I got the email that I'd hit 5000 word badge. Yay!

I walked today and it was good to get back to it.  As I was coming back into my neighborhood, my friend pulled over and said, "Hop in, we are going to Starbucks!"   I told them I needed to go home first.  They told me to hop in and they'd carry me.  I said, nope, I'm going to finish my walk! LOL! I did and was able to use the bathroom and grab my purse.  I didn't really want to go to Starbucks right then, but I'm ALWAYS asking them to go so it would be hilarious if I said, nope! :P

We went and I got another caramel brulee.  So good!  My friend tried one too.  She said she liked it and then she didn't like it!  Sheesh!  Oh well, hers was a Venti and mine was a tall.  They were both holiday cups, so I got her to give me hers after she drank it. :p . I went to her house to see all her animals.  I had to love on Cocoa and I even got to see my favorite cat, the demon kitty! <3 . My friend I went to eat lunch together as we don't get to go do stuff together much.  She works until 6:30 on most days. When she has a day off, she is usually busy running errands for her mom, so today we were able to just go out and enjoy lunch.  We ate at one of the local Mexican restaurants.  It's one of my favorites.  I haven't been in ages.  My other friend, the one I go out and eat with all the time, doesn't like Mexican, Chinese, or other good ethnic food, so I was glad to go!

I finally got home and then relaxed for a little bit.  Being around people stresses me out.  I got myself together and then wrote myself a list and went to the grocery store.  I got a lot of goodies, but not nearly as much as I wanted to.  My favorite frozen dinners were on sale.  Two for five dollars and if you buy two, you get one free.  So technically three for five.  I was planning on getting a LOT of them.  They had a total of three. ~_~; I got those though!  I also got creamer and then remembered I hadn't gotten coffee.  That wouldn't do!  The store went through a remodel a few months back and I still don't know where anything is. lol I totally missed the coffee on my first trip through.  It used to be on the very first aisle!  So, I got groceries, I brought them home and put them away.  I did a few things I needed to do.  I washed a ton of dishes and then ate some supper.  After that, I sat down to write.  I got over 2000 words written tonight so I was happy about that.  I just have my French to do online and then I will get off of here and get the other things done that need doing. ^_^

Late start, but wow! :P

I didn't get to sit down and write for NaNo until just a while ago.  I hadn't planned to start so late today.  Why so late?  Well, let's see.  I walked as I always do.  I stopped by one place to see about after Halloween candy. :p . I got four bags of Halloween candy for 50% off. WHOO! lol . I got two bags of individual Reese's. YUM I also got two bags of this 'nut lovers' collection.  It has Mr. Goodbar, Hershey with Almond, Take 5, Paydays, and Reeses.  I was so happy to find this collection.  I usually don't find a collection of stuff that I like everything in the bag.  This is one where I like them all.I have a lot of goodies to snack on during NaNo. Yay!  It's funny that I got so many Reese's my main character, Sophie, LOVES peanut butter cups.  :P

So, I got my candy.  They also had some fuzzy 'at home' socks at the register for $1 a pair. I adore fuzzy socks, so I got three pair. lol . I came and had to sample my candy. :p . My friend texted and said he was coming straight from work and we'd go eat.  He said we'd eat quickly. I thought, great.  That way I can get home and write.  Well, we ate and it wasn't as quick as he said. lol He also had to pick up a few things at the dollar store.  He got me some chips and vitamins though.  Then, he got himself a milkshake.  When we does, he usually asks if I want a Frappe.  I did! :P . I rode with him to the grocery store.  He ran in for a couple of things and then ran him by his mom's.  He was in there a lot longer than he planned, so I didn't get some until much later than I had planned.  Oh well, I sat changed into comfy clothes and sat down.  I wrote 1942 words so that is just fine!  I don't think I'm going to add anymore tonight.  I need to pack up and put away my Halloween decorations and that is going to take a while..  lol . I have sooo many!

So, NaNo is off to a great start, I have snacks and I actually got a good start.  When I got home from my walk today, I finished re-reading the send half of book two.  I was ready to go when I sat down.  Now, I'm going to get my Halloween decorations put away.  Well, the ones that I don't keep up year round!  I also need to do my French, and then I'm going to fix dinner and read.  I started another true crime book last night.  This one is about Marie Hilley.  I've seen her story on Unsolved Mysteries and some of the true crime shows.  I'm looking forward to reading the book. She was a piece of work!

I used Scrivener for day one and I love it!  Bean is a great program, and I am grateful to have had it these last two years, but I know I'm going to enjoy Scrivener a lot!

Last minute prep!

First of all, Happy Halloween and a Blessed Samhain to you!  I hope you had a wonderful day.  I got in my walk and came home and rested for just a bit and then drove to two local cemeteries.  It's a Halloween tradition for me.  I always visit at least one old cemetery on Halloween.  I went to two and then headed home.  I almost got Starbucks, but it was close to lunch, so I came home and ate.

I have just finished re-reading my first book and I'm about to re-read the second one.  I want all my characters to be fresh and in my mind for tomorrow.  I can't believe NaNo is tomorrow! Whoo! I'm happy about it though!  I am ready.  I was reading my first book on the Kindle and realized I had the wrong 'copy' of the first book.  I found the correct one on my computer and fixed that.  I took notes on things I need to change.  I've done small editing on both of the first two books but not major editing, yet.  I want to write down everything so I know what and where to edit when the time comes.

I did a bit of a leaf page in my bullet journal.  I went in my yard this afternoon after the walk and cemtery visits and collected some leaves.  I glued them in my bujo and then used mod podge to make sure they stayed.  I added some Halloween stickers.  It's a little Halloween spread that is totally different.  I like it!  Here is the spread and a few pictures from each of the cemeteries I visited.

Lame Library?!

Please tell me why I can get ebooks and audiobooks online through my local library, but I can't renew my library card online.  What is this, 1995?!  LOL . I had to go down to the library today to renew my card.  It took all of 2 minutes. Why they can't do it online is beyond me.  Oh well!  It actually expired recently and I went to put a book on hold on Overdrive and it said the card was expired and I'd have to go to the library.  I didn't want to have to go all the way down there, so I asked online if it could be done online.  Sadly, no!  The lady from the library told me that she would extend my card until November 1 so i could use it and it would give me time to come in.  I was glad to get that done.  It used to be you had to renew it every year.  Now it's two years, so I won't have to worry about this until 2020!

While I was downtown, I went by the post office.  Good thing I did.  My box was stuffed!  I had eight pen pal letters! Yikes! LOL!  I thought I had about four, I was not expecting eight.  I also had an ad or two.  I got all that and then swung by McDonald's.  I had a game piece for a free snack sized McFlurry.  Yummy!  I got that and came home.

I walked today and afterwards, I ran to get my car inspected.  I, for some reason, thought my inspection was in February.  That was my old car from eight years ago! LOL!  I looked in my journal at the beginning of February this year and didn't see anything about inspection.  I got out last's years journal and there is was, in October. Oops! LOL!  The place I usually go only does cash for inspections. No checks/credit.  I went to another place I've been before and asked if he had time to do one and if they took credit cards.  He said yes to both so I was able to get it done.  I felt bad going at the end of the month.  I am not one to wait until the last minute!  I was so glad to get that done and not have to worry about it.  One less worry on me is a good thing!
