Goodbye 2018

It's hard to believe that this year is almost over.  Just a few more hours and we get to start anew.  It was overcast when I left for my walk today.  The weather apps said it would not rain during my walk.  Well, my weather apps, LIED.  As soon as my feet hit the street and I started up my street, it began raining. It rained for almost my entire walk.  I was not amused!  I was quite happy when I got home.  I had to put my clothes in the dryer.  I also put my shoes on either side of the heater to dry them out, too.

I mailed off letters during today's walk and then I had one more I needed to mail after I got home.  I decided to mail that and went to Starbucks while I was out. Yay! It was delicious, of course. :p  I wanted to end the year right.

With my walk and my trip to Starbucks, I also took down my Yule tree.  It took longer than it should because all the lights decided they wanted to get tangled up. lol . I was finally able to get them all off and packed away.  Everything is back in the boxes for next year.  I am going to relax the rest of the evening and get ready to watch the ball drop on TV.  I  was able to stream that last year, so I'm hoping I'll be able to again this year. It won't feel like New Year's Eve without that!

Happy Holidays

I’m glad that is over!  I walked today and it was weird to see everything closed.  I got to see a few cute dogs along my walk. :). I also stopped by the neighbor’s house and loved on Zeus the dog.  He is such a sweetie pie. All I wanted to do after my walk was to come home, put on my give up on life pants and do absolutely nothing.  Sadly, I didn’t get to do that!  I was expected to go to my friend’s house to eat.  I got to see all my favorite pups, though! Cocoa, Daisy, and the demon dog Ceaser. Lol. I also saw Percy and a sweet Roxie!  Roxie at one point, climbed in an chair and onto the kitchen table. LOL!  She is such a silly!  I snuggled her a bunch.

I ate and stayed a bit and then came home.  They made me feel bad because they gave me gifts and I just didn’t have the money to buy any this year.  I got a cute Intuitions bracelet, a grocery store gift card and a Starbucks gift card.  I stayed a bit after eating and then headed home.

I waited until dark and then went to my car. I did my tradition of going down Riverside drive and seeing everything closed.  I also went to a few neighborhoods to see lights, but not a lot of people decorated.  When I was a child, most everyone decorated.  Not so much now.  Oh well.  I did that and came home.  Sheets was open (convenience store that has made to order food) but they were BUSY.  I knew they would be and hadn’t planned to go anyway! I didn’t take my extra key so I couldn’t have anyway.

Much better!

I got up today and took my walk.  I came so close to skipping it and staying in bed.  I prevented myself from backing out and staying home by taking my bed linen off the bed and throwing it in the washer.  That way, my bed wouldn't be much fun to get back into.

It was nice to get back to it.  I wanted to go to the post office, but I figured since it was my first day back to walking in almost a week, I should just skip that part. I did run into Dollar General on the way back and picked up a few things I needed.

I came home and was happy to relax!  I played some bingo on the iPad.  I washed my hair and my bed linen.  I just need to put the bed linen back on the bed.  I've already done my French lesson, too.  I finished my current read last night and I'm starting a new one tonight.

I hope to get to the post office tomorrow.  I really need to go.  I have some things that I need to pick up that I know are there.  I have informed delivery at my post office box and at home!  It keeps me from going when I don't have anything in my box. :)

Ouch ouch ouch

My poor head is killing me at the moment.  I have the headache from hell.  I didn't sleep well last night and then woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep.  My friend wanted to go to South Boston today and go to a pawn shop, a Goodwill, and to eat.  He asked me a few days ago if I'd like to go.  He would buy lunch and get me some things at the thrift store.  I went.  I usually find a lot of things at that particular Goodwill, but I only found a little bag with various office supplies and a pair of black flats.  I have been needing a pair of nice black flats. These look pretty much brand new, too.  They are comfy and I like them a lot.

We ate at Dini's brothers. It's a pizza / sub place in SoBo.  We split a pizza and it was good.  When we got back to Danville, we went to the Goodwill here.  I found more goodies.  A journal, a digital camera kit, a Spirograph with all the pieces but one, some cute stationery, and two Starbucks tumblers!! They are from 2007 and they are both grande size.  The lid on one of them wasn't the right lid, but the other one's lid fit on both, and I wouldn't be using both at the same time anyway!  I couldn't pass them up for .99 each!

Oh, I also got a caramel macchiato at the McDonald's as we were leaving SoBo.  It was pretty tasty, too! I was hoping to spot some extra cases for my iPad Mini at the thrift stores. I have seen them before.  I like having a variety of cases. lol

My Fossil canvas purse came today and it's so cute.  I'll have to do another post after this and do a picture post of some of today's goodies. I would do it with this post, but I'm sitting under the hair bonnet hair dryer so it's not possible at the moment. I took several pictures of the Starbucks tumblers, but I haven't taken one of the purse yet.  It's khaki colored canvas and it has a cute yellow floral interior.  It's a small bag, but it holds everything I need.  The front zipper pocket can be used as a wallet if you want.  I like it.  I'll post my haul in a bit after my hair is dry.  The heat from the dryer is very soothing to my painful head!

Another thing I needed came in today's mail.  My closet light went out recently.  To turn it on and off, you pull a string from the light bulb adapter thingee.  My adapter thingee quit working so I ordered one from Amazon. It's nice to have light in my closet again. I had tried one of those tap lights, but it wasn't nearly enough light.  I am glad to have this fixed again.

Now, I just need to finish drying my hair and I'll post some of my goodies. :)

Yay for Starbucks!

Guess who got Starbucks today?  Yes, that would be me!  I had to run out for an errand this evening and I decided to run over to Starbucks.  I went to the drive thru and got my favorite. A Cascara latte.  It was delicious!  It has been way too long since I went to Starbucks.

I noticed that there were plenty of seats inside, too! Figures.  If I had gone and planned to stay, there would have been no where at all to sit.  Oh well.  I still need to get over there and go in before Christmas is over so I can get the rest of the cards to add to my collection.

Oops!

Yeah, I almost forgot to post to my blog today.  Sorry, it’s just been one of those days.  I left for my walk today and my friend was  outside with Cocoa, her mini Doxie.  I adore Cocoa and don’t get to see her enough, so I stopped!  I got to love on my little Cocoa for quite a while.  I also got to see my favorite German Shepard, Daisy!  I decided to just skip my walk and came back home.  I’ve been a lazy slug all day. I’ve played bingo on the iPad and watched The Addam’s Family. Lol

Bingo crazy?

Well, just a little. I have four different bingo apps on my iPad mini. lol . I started with Bingo Bash on my iPod touch a long time ago.  I found that they had the version for the iPad and I started playing it again.  I had also tried Bingo Blitz some time back because an in app thing in another app . (You download the app and play to a certain level and then get stuff in the other app.) . So, I played both of these on my iPad and liked them.  I wanted another to try since I played so much I ran out of the 'tokens' to play! lol

I now  have Monopoly Bingo which is really fun.  I love Monopoly and I love bingo so it was a good choice.  I also have Bingo Win.  They are all pretty fun!  I will probably try a few more before it's all over.  Each app had it's good points and bad points.  I love the bigger screen for playing too.  When I played on the iPod touch, I could play four cards at a time, but I had to scroll.  On the iPad, I can see all four at once.  It's easier to play more cards at once.

Sunday and no Starbucks!

i walked again today.  The sun was out for most of my walk.  It sprinkled just a bit near the end, but it wasn't enough to have to use my umbrella.  That was a good thing!  I got to see one of my neighbors dogs that I love. His name is Zeus and he is a a big ole sweetie pie.  i also saw a guy that usually has beagles.  His current beagle was with him today and he had him in a Santa suit!  Cutest Santa ever! I should have taken a picture.

I got to warm water up on the stove to wash my hair today.  I haven't been down to try and get my water heaters pilot light lit in over a week.  The last time I went down was Saturday.  A week a go yesterday.  I was hoping to get it lit before the big snowfall, but I didn't.  My friend came and tried to get it lit too, but no luck.  He is going to come back again sometime and try again.  His plant is on vacation from the end of this week through the new year, so hopefully I'll have hot water soon.

Hello!

Sorry about yesterday.  It was almost midnight and I didn't have a chance to make a real post.  I just posted a quick line and called it good.  Yesterday, it rained a lot.  That helped with the snow a lot.  I went out to check my route and it was looking much better.  It was supposed to rain some today too, but it wasn't raining at my regular walk time.

I went for my walk. There were several places where I had to be very careful not to slip and a few places I had to walk in the road a bit to get around huge piles that were still there.  I was able to get my walk in successfully though.  It was nice to get back at it.  It was overcast for my walk until I got on the way back and then it started to rain. I had to use my umbrella the rest of the walk.  At least it wasn't too much of my walk.  I got home and had to put my clothes in the dryer and put my shoes by the heater.  My shoes got pretty wet, my clothes only a little bit.

I am glad I was able to get back out there and walk.  Of course, it was hard to get back to it, too.  I almost talked myself into waiting one more day.  I needed to get back to it. Hopefully tomorrow I won't get my shoes wet!
