Camp NaNoWriMo Feed

Down to the wire! :p

I finally decided on my plans of Camp NaNoWriMo for July. I'm going to add words to my work in progress. I'm not ready to put it aside for my skater fic right now. I have some intereseting things coming up and it's going to give me plenty to write! I added a goal to add 35,000 words to it, but I may go over. I like to go low on Camp just in case. I still have no idea what I'm doing in November, but I have plenty of time between now and then to figure that one out! It's hard to believe that tomorrow is July!

Boring midweek

Yeah, nothing exciting to report today. Just a lazy day at home. I really should have mowed the front lawn today, but it was pretty nasty out there. I was going to wait until the evening when it cooled off and then forgot. lol. Maybe tomorrow.  Oh well, it's not horrible yet.

I stayed in my room with the air conditioning! I did write a good bit on my current work. July is not that far away and that means Camp NaNoWriMo. I am undecided if I am participating. I WILL be doing NaNoWriMo in November, but I haven't decided on Camp.  I could just add words to my current work, but I could also get part two of the book I did for April's camp. I'll decide later.  If I do the second part of book three of my Olympic skater story, I need something new for NaNo in November. I am pretty much written out on my zombie epic. Plus, I wrapped that up pretty well last year.  Of course, every book in the series has had a complete ending, so..... I really need a new idea!  I'll ponder it and decide later.

Fail!

The new drive enclosure I got today didn't work at all. sigh I don't know what to do now.  I did a return. I'm not sure if I want to even try to order another one. It's just so frustrating! In other news, I started a new story today. It was the one I mentioned when I was working on Camp. It's an old story that I'm completely re-doing. I like it so far. I think it will work. I also feel the characters are going to get ahead of me so I might have to change the name of the story soon. lol

Backup done!

I actually started it last night after I posted here. It took an hour and a half, but it's all backed up on Time Machine. :). Now, I need to get that 2 TB drive working. Soon.  I hope. lol.  I didn't do a lot today. I wrote. I needed to write a good bit because yesterday I didn't get much written. I was happy to get a good amount out today.  I am just finishing up a dramatic portion of the story. I am not sure what is coming next! I also want to start the other story I mentioned during Camp NaNo. I just need to figure out how to start that one.

One other thing, I mowed the front yard today. That is always a PITA! :P

Sunday is for Starbucks

Well, when the Sunday falls on the first of the month it is!  I went to Starbucks to get my first of the month jolt start. I got a nice Peppermint white mocha and yes, it was delicious!  I finished Camp yesterday. The story has a lot more to it, so I'll pick it back up in July for that Camp. As for now, I'm back to the work I was doing before Camp. It wasn't as hard to get back into it as I was thinking. I meant to do a review of a lot of it last night and got caught up in another old story I wrote. Oops! Oh well, it didn't affect my writing today, so that was good. I actually got a bit over 1800 words done on it, so I am pleased!

My regular Sunday chores are moving along nicely. I have my hair washed, my bed linen is in the washing machine. I need to get the laundry out from yesterday from the dryer so I can move the linens over.  I took the trash out and took the can to the street as it's stuffed.  It's a huge can, so I only have to actually put the can on the street once a month or so.  I am going to be putting away the laundry after I finish this post and get the bed linen in to dry. I want to do some work on my digital planner in GoodNotes.  DPCDigitals, my favorite shop for digital goodies dropped some cool things in the newsletter so I want to import them into GoodNotes and play a bit.  I just need to get the laundry sorted first and then I'm free to play a bit until I have to put the bed linens back on the bed. I'm trying to get things done earlier today so I'm not putting the linens back on the bed after 10 pm! :P

Yum!

I tried the spaghetti today that I fixed yesterday. It's delicious!  I will definitely do it like this again. It was so easy and it was all done in one pot! I love my Instant Pot!  I don't know how my friend liked his portion yet. He was supposed to eat when he got home from work this afternoon and got involved in working on something.  I'm still waiting to hear what he thought. As for me, I like it. I had my portion for lunch and dinner. I gave him a lot more than I saved out for myself, so I really hope he likes it!

I finally got my butt out of the house today to do my recycling. I've been meaning to do it for weeks.  I did that and then ran Goontz to the car wash. I really need a car cover. The pollen and bird dropping are getting out of hand! :p  In other news did write for Camp today. I'm doing well to write every day and I'm consistent with my word count. The only thing is, I'm not sure I'm going to finish the book by the end of April. I WILL have 50,000 words, but I will not be at the end of my work. I think I might just get to my 50,000 words and continue until April 30. Then, I'll pick the story back up in July for the second Camp. Then, I have to find something totally new for November. We'll see how it goes.

Saturday again

Yeah, boring title, boring post!  I didn't do much today. I did my writing for Camp NaNoWriMo of course. I went out and got the front lawn mown so that is done. I also did a load of laundry. I've been tired all day and I am so sleepy. I haven't been sleeping well lately, so I'm hoping to break that cycle tonight. The other thing I did today was finally put away a bunch of my thrift finds that have been stacking up. I need more room or that craft cart I mentioned. :p

Monday.. how exciting.

Haha, I didn't know what to use for a title, so there you go! Sorry I didn't get to post in time yesterday. I was busy, busy! I washed my bed linen, washed my hair, put away laundry from the day before, did a bit of cleaning, and also went out to the post office to check my box.  I got a few new letters so now I have them all. I hope to sit down and write everyone this week.  I"m behind again, but I'm hoping with being able to create cute envelopes it will encourage me to write more often!

As for Camp, I'm plugging along. I am now at 32,202 words! :D I'm very happy.  I have ways to go, but I'm over the halfway mark and I'm pacing myself well, so that is great. My skaters have been to their first competition of the year and they won, they are due for several more AND they have the Olympics! The series is called Olympic  Dreams after all! This is book three The Olympic Games  It's going well.  I have my other story to get back to when it's done and a couple more in the works. One is a story I mentioned that I want to re-write and the other is one that I only did a bit of a start on years ago. I'd like to explore that one too. As for the current one, I edited the last day's work on that yesterday. I last wrote on it on March 31 as I put it aside for Camp. I think I'll be ready to go back into it fresh on May 1st. I needed to edit that last day and I figured why not go ahead?

So, there is a decent update. I'm plugging along on my writing and I hope to get my pen pal letters written and out this week!  OH! One other thing. My crazy dryer needed some repair yesterday. I wasn't able to fix what I needed as I didn't have the things I needed. I ran out this afternoon and got those and I am pretty sure I fixed it. Go me! :)

Thursday Thrift

My friend is off tomorrow, so he texted me today and asked if I wanted to do our usual Friday thrift, today. I did, so we did! Yes, I wrote for Camp first! So, we went to our usual, Reidsville, Walkertown, and Mayodan. I found a small leather wallet in Salvation Army and nothing in Goodwill Reidsville.  At Walkertown, I found several nice things!  Some time back, I found a nice, working Brother label maker. I saw two refills in there tonight. I wasn't sure they'd fit as I didn't know the number of the refills I needed. For $3 for the two of them, I figured I would take a chance. They are the ones I need. Yay!   I was happy to find that. Last week when we were in there, I found a little mini notebook that I really liked. They had another so I got it too. They had a HUGE pencil/pen zipper case and I got it and it was $2. Nice!  I also found a cool kit that scores and cuts paper to make envelopes. I am so happy with that find. Price? $3! Yes!

At Mayodan, I found a small brown leather Fossil bag, a S'ip bottle with Doxies on it. A couple of t-shirts, a green Starbucks mug, and a ceramic North Carolina Starbucks tumbler. Nice!  Here are a few of the mentioned items: PXL_20220415_031727239.MP

In the picture of the envelope maker, you can see a cute little mini envelope I made to test it out. It works so well and it's going to be great to use. No more boring envelopes for my pen pals! LOL

Almost halfway!

In Camp word count that is. Today I hit 23,081 words. Not bad when I was waffling right up to the day of deciding what I was going to do!  It's going okay so far.  I just need some drama. :p  I have some coming, but I am not sure how to work it in.  Hopefully, I'll be able to do that soon.  I didn't really do much today. I wrote and then just hung around the house. I did run out for a quick lunch, but that was all. I just got a chicken strip meal at Hardee's and came right back home to eat it. It was nice outside today, too. I should have stayed out longer, oh well, maybe another day.  For now, I'm going to relax a bit. I want to re-read today's writing and see if I need to fix any typos.

Small thrift

My friend and I did our usual Tuesday thrift. We did the two usual stores, Salvation Army and Goodwill. I found three things in Salvation Army. A two-pack of bulbs for the "Itty Bitty Booklight", a package of snowcone cups/straws, and a vintage beaded clutch bag. I don't have that book light, but I think the bulbs will fit something else I do have. The little beaded bag is very nice. It's a Richere Bag by Walsons Japan. Here it is:

It's gorgeous and in excellent shape. I'm not sure what I'll use it for, but I just couldn't leave it. I only found one item in Goodwill.  I found a nice Farberware waffle maker for $5.00. Nice! Not a huge haul, but a few great items so I'm satisfied. I also went over 21,000 words for today's Camp NaNo was that is good, too!

Sunday is busy!

Yes, Sunday is my busy day. A bit busier today than usual, too. I had to mow my front lawn for the first time this season. That always sucks. I hate to start this early, but it was pretty shabby-looking. The grass isn't so bad, but the weeds. Boo! Plus several of my neighbors did theirs so mine looked that much worse. :p It looks better now and it's neat and looks better than a few other houses as they haven't done theirs yet.

I washed a ton of dishes, too.  All my chores are done, the linens are back on the bed and after I post this, I'm officially done for today! I'm very tired as I didn't sleep well last night. I'm hoping all the things I did today will help me sleep tonight. I can certainly hope! I did write for Camp NaNo.  I also got an idea for my current story I've been working on that I put aside to do Camp. I'll get right back into it after Camp, plus, I have another old story I want to pull out and re-do as I mentioned before.  I'll have lots to work with when Camp is done. :)

Regular Friday Thrift

My friend and I did our regular Friday thrift. I found a few goodies, too!  The highlight is a Fossil handbag and a Starbucks stainless tumbler.  The Fossil bag is actually listed on their site currently. It retailed for $198.00. I paid $4.99. SCORE! there was also a black leather Coach bag that I bought. I'm not sure if it's legit, but it's nice and it was the same price as the Fossil. There was another Fossil, but i have similar ones to it so I passed on it.  The one I did buy is pretty cool. I love finding things like that.  I wonder if the Coach is legit? It IS real leather and it great shape.  I don't really know how to find out.

I did my day's Camp NaNo writing before we went.  I'm now not for from 15000 words! Pretty good when I wasn't sure I wanted to slip back into this story.  I hope to get a nice relaxing day in tomorrow and of course, I'll write. I may go get my pizza tomorrow, we'll see. It all depends on how I feel then. For now, I'm going to relax until bedtime. I'm so sleepy, but as soon as I lie down tonight for sleep, I'll be wide awake. Boo!

No pizza, yet!

I might have gotten pizza today, but my friend and I went to eat out. We went to two Goodwills afterward. I got two Ziploc bags of crafting supplies and one Ziploc of jewelry-making supplies.  I also got a ceramic cauldron, a pink ceramic Eiffel Tower statue, a blanket, and a wireless charging pad for my phone. Not a bad haul.  My friend found the blanket knowing I'd been looking for new ones. He got that for me. It's nice and it's pretty new looking.  I will save it for a backup. It's good to have it.  It's the kind I like too.

I did write today and actually got a good deal done. A bit over 1800 words. I'm on a roll! I will pick up tomorrow where I left off on this and go on.  I left it in mid-scene as I'm trying to pace myself. This will make tomorrow easy as I can just pick up where i left off. :) I just went through tmy thrift receipt and It's not adding up. I either forgot a few things I bought, so I got overcharged. I'm leaning towards I forgot something as I put the things away when I got home. The jewelry stuff when with other jewelry stuff I have, etc.  I'm still in the dark about two items. Ugh! I hate the fact that I just bought this stuff not long ago and already have forgotten. D'oh!
