Camp NaNoWriMo Feed

Decision made!

Well, at least I'm almost positive!  I am going to do book two of my skating story for NaNoWriMo. (I created the first book in April for CampNaNo) I have announced it at NaNo and I created a cover for the book.  It's going to follow my skating pair as they spend a summer at their exclusive boarding school.  They'll train all summer and maybe have a short vacation.  They are training for the Olympics in the coming winter games.  I have some ideas for their summer and as of now, they are not going to have a very relaxing summer!

I have two scenarios in mind and I have to pick between the two. There is either going to be a serious injury or a stalking case.  The main female character had a bit of a stalker in the first book but he was sent away to get help. He may just get released without her knowledge.  The other scenario is the male skater (her partner on and off the ice) is going to have a serious injury that is going to put their Olympic goals in jeopardy.  I still have a little over two weeks to go so I'll be trying to work out what is going to happen.  I do want them to have some fun over the summer break since they will be staying at the school for the majority and training, training, training!

As of now, the book will be called, "Summer At Meadows Academy."  That is the name of their school.  It may change depending on how the story goes.  I am ready to start now and I am also not even remotely ready to start now! I may do some side writing of other stuff just to get myself in the mood and going.  I have been re-reading a lot of my old fiction stories and they are making me want to write about that duo again, too! I might do that just for fun and to warm up my writing for NaNo!

Pretty and useful

I received my new cover/case for my MacBook Pro today.  I was looking for a new case to snap on it to protect it.  I have taken great care of my MBP since I got it, but whoever had it before me didn't.  They let it get banged up a bit.  I have been using a blue case on it but I wanted a change.  I went looking and found a black one with flowers on it.  I thought it was just black with off white flowers.  It's black and the flowers are a more silver color and it's got a bit of shine to it.  I wasn't sure I liked it when I opened it as it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but after putting it on and looking at it a bit, I actually love it!  It gives is a nice new look.

I took a few pictures to share before I went out and mowed the front lawn. I really should have mowed yesterday before all the rain last night, but oh well. I did get the front done and it looks so much better.  I didn't do it yesterday because I really didn't feel well.  I'm glad to have done it today.

I did a little going back over my CampNaNo project.  There was one part where I thought I had made two buildings into one, but I looked and I did it right. Yay! I didn't have to change it.  I have a lot o editing to do but it's pretty well done.  I am not sure if I'm going to do a sequel.  It's very possible!

As for the cover for my MacBook Pro, here are a few pictures I took. It's a lot prettier in person!

Just a few more

I added a few words to my book today.  I had a day where I forgot to add something and I went back and did that today and updated my word count.  Now, if I could just get my 50,000 badge! AHHHH!

I hope to get to my new stack of letters in the next few days. I ordered some stamps online and they came today! Yay!  I was going to order from USPS which I usually do, but it would have taken longer. I went on eBay and there are a lot of people selling stamps on there!  I got two 10 stamp books for the regular retail price with free shipping, so I did that.  When I don't get them online, I get them at the drug store as they sell them.  I really didn't want to go to CVS just for stamps, so I got them online.  Easy peasy!

Guess what?

If you guessed that I just completed this year's Camp NaNoWriMo you would be correct.  I finished it at right at 50,468 words!  Goal met!  My character survived too! I can definitely revisit this story again as it is opened ended and can be continued. I'm pleased with what I have so far.

I didn't leave the house today as I felt sort of meh.  I hope to go to the store again in a few days to get the things I didn't get when I went yesterday.  I need sour cream and I'm hoping to get a few more of the frozen dinners that I've found and loved.  It seems I am not the only one as they are hard to find!  I just know they are delicious and I really like them.

I finished the second book in the series today and I'm definitely reading the last one!  It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger too!  These are really good and I'm enjoying them.  I am not going to worry about what I'm reading next until I finish this one. I'm sure I'll find something good to read.

Almost there

Yes, I'm now within 635 words of 50,000 for this year's CampNaNoWriMo! I still can't believe it.  I could have finished tonight, but I got to a good point and stopped.  I'm sure it will end up being over 50,000. I've decided NOT to kill off my main character. I love him too much and so does my main leading lady!  We both would be devastated.  He still may have some health problems but not fatal ones.  I'm not sure if I'll get to that before I finish. There might be a longer book in the works or I may go for two.  We'll see.

I went to get groceries today and stock up before the beginning of the month when a lot of things are sold out.  The shelves were a lot fuller than the last time I went.  There were empty spots though.  A lot of canned goods were gone and I had wanted to get a few boxes of Hamberger Helper. I like to make it with Morningstar Farms veggie crumbles.    It's delicious that way. Sadly, they were out of most of the HH and they didn't have the ones I wanted so I passed on that.  I did get all the things to make a hashbrown casserole but I forgot the sour cream! D'oh!  I'm hoping to go to the other location of this store in a day or two and see if I can get a certain frozen dinner that I love and I'll pick up the sour cream then.  I hate going into crowded stores in good times, with all the COVID-19 worries, I hate it even more!  I am glad I have a lot of good food though.  I actually got myself a few 'treats' that I normally don't get.  Food, but fun food. :P

Speaking of food, I need to go fix some now! I finished my book last night and it left it on sort of a cliffhanger so I had to start the next book!  I did today and it's pretty good so far. I am pretty sure at this point I'll finish the trilogy.  Right now though, I'm fixing food and eating everything on my plate, or bowl, or whatever it is that I eat off of.  I haven't decided what I'm fixing yet. lol

Oh my Glob!

I got a late start on writing tonight but I still got in over 1700 words. I'm now less than 3000 from 50,000! Whoo-hoo!  I could have gone on tonight, but I was at a good point to stop, so I did. It's going well.

I got my bed linen washed today and it's ready to go back on the bed.  I just need to get up and do that!  I put away another load of laundry today that I washed yesterday, I washed my hair, and I washed my bed linens. I meant to go spend some time in the yard as it was nice today, but it rained overnight, so the ground would be wet.  I ended up staying in all day. D'oh!

I did read a lot in my current book. It's pretty good.  Depending on how it turns out, I'll decide if I am going to continue with the series or start something else. I'm thinking I'm going on, but we'll see.  I like a lot of characters in the book.

Speaking of my current book (the one I'm writing) I am considering killing off one of my main characters!  I am undecided at the moment.  It would make it so damn sad.  I was just going to have the character have some serious health issues, but I'm still unsure. I love him, I don't want to kill him!

45,000 words and getting close!

I have just hit the 45,000 mark. Actually, I've gone over it by 604 words.  Go me!  Guess what else I did today? I wrote pen pal letters!  I got seven written and sent off.  I went to the post office to mail them and found nine more!  Three are from people I haven't heard from before so potential new pals. I haven't opened them yet.  I was going to and go ahead and write to them and get them ready to mail, but I'm out of stamps!  I ordered some and hopefully, they'll come quickly.

I got a good way into my newest read last night. It's pretty good.  I am hoping to see if there are more of this series.  It's a different post-apocalyptic fiction than my usual. This one has aliens trying to kill everyone on earth.  Something different and so far it's a good read.  I still haven't signed up for Kindle Unlimited, but I plan to.  I figure why not?  I get three months free.  I'm sure in that time I can find out if it's worth it for me! I need to check to see if my library has more of my current series. I know Kindle Unlimited has some from ones I've read in the past that I wanted to continue with.

I just checked and my library has all three of the books from this series. I went ahead and borrowed books two and three! :) Might as well.  That way I can jump into the next book when I finish this one!

Oh! One more thing.  Remember how during the month of actual NaNoWriMo I award myself a pizza?  Well, I had forgotten all about it because of COVID and everything else.  Plus me not planning on writing 50,000 words and all.  Since I AM writing 50,000 + words, I treated myself to a pizza tonight! :p

If It Bleeds

I finished If It Bleeds today and it was great!  I just searched at the e-library and found a new book to try. It's post-apocalyptic and it looks interesting. It will be a possible new series as this is the first of several.  We'll see how I like it! It's got good reviews and the blurb looked interesting so we'll see.

I just realized that I was posting this and got distracted! lol. I was watching a video about the best and worst MacBooks of the past decade.  This little guy was on the best five list. Yay!  I then looked up RAM and found that I can upgrade the RAM in this guy to 4x what it is now.  That should make it run so much better.  I'm definitely going to look into upgrading my RAM!
