What the Junk?!

It has been a long and boring day.  I did get out this evening, though. I went to Starbucks and even though I knew they said their last bottle of cascara ran out on the 7th, I still asked to make sure they didn't have any.  They didn't. :(  I got a caramel macchiato instead.  It was okay, but I prefer my cascara. I'm going to try different things until I find something I like as well as the cascara latte. 

Speaking of Starbucks, I got the last card from the ones I purchased on November 30.  It finally arrived today. It's the corporate one that you couldn't get in stores.  It's pretty cool.  Here it is:

My poor head is killing me at the moment.  I have the headache from hell.  I didn't sleep well last night and then woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep.  My friend wanted to go to South Boston today and go to a pawn shop, a Goodwill, and to eat.  He asked me a few days ago if I'd like to go.  He would buy lunch and get me some things at the thrift store.  I went.  I usually find a lot of things at that particular Goodwill, but I only found a little bag with various office supplies and a pair of black flats.  I have been needing a pair of nice black flats. These look pretty much brand new, too.  They are comfy and I like them a lot. 

We ate at Dini's brothers. It's a pizza / sub place in SoBo.  We split a pizza and it was good.  When we got back to Danville, we went to the Goodwill here.  I found more goodies.  A journal, a digital camera kit, a Spirograph with all the pieces but one, some cute stationery, and two Starbucks tumblers!! They are from 2007 and they are both grande size.  The lid on one of them wasn't the right lid, but the other one's lid fit on both, and I wouldn't be using both at the same time anyway!  I couldn't pass them up for .99 each!

Oh, I also got a caramel macchiato at the McDonald's as we were leaving SoBo.  It was pretty tasty, too! I was hoping to spot some extra cases for my iPad Mini at the thrift stores. I have seen them before.  I like having a variety of cases. lol 

My Fossil canvas purse came today and it's so cute.  I'll have to do another post after this and do a picture post of some of today's goodies. I would do it with this post, but I'm sitting under the hair bonnet hair dryer so it's not possible at the moment. I took several pictures of the Starbucks tumblers, but I haven't taken one of the purse yet.  It's khaki colored canvas and it has a cute yellow floral interior.  It's a small bag, but it holds everything I need.  The front zipper pocket can be used as a wallet if you want.  I like it.  I'll post my haul in a bit after my hair is dry.  The heat from the dryer is very soothing to my painful head!

Another thing I needed came in today's mail.  My closet light went out recently.  To turn it on and off, you pull a string from the light bulb adapter thingee.  My adapter thingee quit working so I ordered one from Amazon. It's nice to have light in my closet again. I had tried one of those tap lights, but it wasn't nearly enough light.  I am glad to have this fixed again.

Now, I just need to finish drying my hair and I'll post some of my goodies. :)

Okay, so I am feeling just bleah and I don't really want to post, but I am going to.  I got up today and I felt like hell. I didn't sleep well and I surely didn't feel like walking.  I went anyway.  It did rain for a short while but it didn't last long and after that, I didn't have to use the umbrella at all.  I got home and decided to skip my workouts.  Then, I got up and did those too!  I put a load of clothes in to wash and my friend texted me that we'd go eat.  I didn't know where, but I am usually up for food!

We went to South Boston, Virginia.  It's about 25 miles or so away.  Maybe more, I'm not sure.  We ate a local pizza place. It was great!  The pizza was delicious.  The crust, the pepperoni, the cheese, yum.  Everything was delicious.  The only thing I'd change about the place is they serve pepsi products.  I prefer Coke when I have a soda.

We left there and went to the Goodwill.  Sadly, it was almost closing time, so we were only in there a few minutes.  We didn't want to hold them up.  After that, we stopped at a McDonald's.  He got some ice cream and I got a caramel macchiato. :P  I ordered and he paid for a small.  I didn't realize until we were down the road a bit that they gave me a medium!  

I came back here and watched an episode of Cold Case Files and read the new Stephen King short story that he has for free on his website: Stephen King .com

It was good as most of his works are.  Now, I'm waiting on a load of clothes in the dryer and I'm going back to the true crime book I started last night. It's really good so far!

So, I got in my walk and came home and relaxed for a bit before doing my workouts.  I was almost done with them when a friend called and wanted me to go somewhere with her.  I wanted to finish my workouts, so I said no.  I got my workout done and then my French and called her back.  She still wanted to go, so I decided to go too.  We went to Martinsville, Virginia which is not very far away for her to go to Belk and look at purses.  She didn't get the one she went for, but she got two others!  I on the other hand didn't go to look at purses and ended up with one.  I absolutely LOVE it.  It's a Lily Bloom.  I've never had one or even seen one before.  They are made from recycled plastic bottles and they have adorable designs.  Mine has cupcakes and coffee! :D  It's brown with colorful cupcakes and coffee cups on it.  The inside is bright green and it's gorgeous.  I'll share a few pictures:

Did I mention that I got it on sale?  Two discounts. Whee! So, after we finally got out of Belk, it took her forever to decide!  We went to Jerry's pizza.  It's a place in Martinsville that I've been to once before a long time ago.  They have remodeled since I went and it's pretty nice.  We shared a pizza and then went by McDonald's for caramel macchiatos.  We were in the drive thru for twenty minutes AFTER we ordered!  We finally got our coffees and headed home.  They were not very good. :(  I was disappointed!

We got back to town and I went to her house for a bit to see Cocoa, her mini Doxie whom I love!  Her son wanted something from Burger King so we rode down there.  While we were out, I got her to run me by Starbucks. LOL I had to get some good coffee to cancel out the bad coffee. :p  I got a tall blonde vanilla latte.  Delicious!  I came home and washed my hair. I'm drying it now and then I'll put my bed linen back on the bed.  I need to play some Pocket Camp as I haven't had a chance since this morning.  

Yes, all day it's felt like it should be Sunday and not Saturday!  I went for my walk and stopped by the grocery store on the way back.  BIG MISTAKE.  They were packed.  I only got four things, but it took a long time to check out.  I should have known better this close to a holiday!  Oh well, I got what I needed and headed home.  I came home and relaxed a bit and then did today's workouts.  I got those done and had time to relax before fixing lunch.

For dinner, my friend carried us to Aunt Millie's in Milton, NC.  It was the first time we'd been since that time we went and both our pizzas were gross.  They more than made up for it this time.  It was delicious and I have a lot left over for tomorrow. ^__^  On the way back into town, he stopped at McDonald's and got me a caramel macchiato.  YAY!  I went with him to the dollar store to pick up a few things he needed.  He got me a couple of dollar items while we were in there.  I have left over pizza and goodies in the house. ^_^

Tomorrow is Christmas eve.  It seems like it was just the beginning of the month.  I'll be glad when all this holiday crap is over with!  I want things to get back to normal!  I'm not sure if I'll go to my friend's house tomorrow or on Christmas day to give them their gifts.  I called today but no one answered and I didn't get a call back.  Yes, the same friend from yesterday!  Phooey!  

I am going to get off the computer after posting this. I've already done my French lesson. I want to play more Pocket Camp.  Yes, I'm addicted, but it's so cute!  I love the animals, especially Goldie and Rosie.  They are my favorites. ^_^

I started out the day with coffee.  I had breakfast and then went for my walk.  I didn't do my usual today.  Where I would usually turn around and head back, I kept going.  I stopped by the post office but I didn't have any letters.  I walked down to the Crossing and then walked around there for a bit until my friend came and picked me up.  He wanted to run to Reidsville today and I told him I'd go if I got in my walk first.  He went to a couple of pawn shops and we both went into a thrift store.  I didn't find anything I wanted.  We ate at Carmela's pizza and it was delicious as usual.

After eating, we headed to McDonald's and I got a Caramel macchiato and drank it on the way home.  I came home and did my workouts.  I am currently drying a load of clothes.  I've already done my French lesson for today.  I just have a few more things I need to do online, and then I am going to relax and play Pocket Camp on my Android.  It's a cute and fun game and I forgot to log in yesterday so I'm pretty sure I lost my streak.  Phooey!

Yes, more!  I was sitting here and I had finished my Macchiato.  I remembered that I had a free drink on my card so I decided to get my favorite Cascara latte.  I got it in venti and I had them add the caramel sprinkles from a caramel brulee! LOL  I am not sure if that is how to spell it as I can't see the sign from here! :P  I was at the register, minding my own business when this package of Starbucks peppermint bark called my name!  I had to buy that, too. :P  I absolutely LOVE peppermint.  I just had to have it.  I get the Hershey peppermint kisses at this time of year and they are so good!  I also love the Ghiardelli peppermint bark.  You would think we my love to peppermint, I'd get a peppermint white mocha every time I come in here.  Well, I used to!  I am trying to cut back on calories. That is why I get the cascara latte.  I also get it with almond milk which reduces the calories even more!

I wrote a pen pal letter just a bit ago and I've done some on NaNo.  I only got 1459 words done.  I am not sure if I'm going to do any more.  That will probably be my lowest daily word count.  I am not sure if I want to do more or not.  I'm getting close to being complete on word count, but I'm running out of things to write about!  I was thinking of making this into a trilogy, but I think next years Nano will be something entirely different.  I don't know what else to add to this particular story!

I can always add new characters, but I already have a LOT of them.  Oh well, I am going to get back to Nano and try to get a few more words in before I give up for the night. Wish me luck on driving home as my car was being a total bitch getting here!

PS I got a few more of the gift cards too.  They have a ceramic Virginia tumbler that I want SO much but it's over twenty dollars.  They do have a ceramic ornament that looks just like it for ten.  I might have to get one before the season is over if they still have them!

Yeah, here it is Sunday again and here I am at Starbucks.  I decided at the last minute to come and bring my laptop and one pen pal letter.  I had to wait to get a little table with an outlet, but I didn't have to wait long. I'm not at my favorite table, but this one is not bad.  I have already started on today's NaNo.  I only have 483 words so far.  I will probably keep going until I hit 2000  that is what I like to get a day if possible.  We'll see if I can do it today!

I'm sitting here with a caramel machiatto.  I had a promo where any caramel macchiato gets you ten bonus stars.  I'm all about the bonus stars! LOL!  I got that and  I'm blogging.  After I write this, I'll get back to NaNo.  I got more of the holiday Starbucks cards today.  I got four or the die cut ones.  The Barista said that you can get any of them without loading them except the multipacks.  Since the cards in the multi packs are the same ones as the individual ones, I don't mind that one bit. I think there is one that I didn't get last time, but I looked for it today and didn't see it.  I will have to check again when I get home to see what I'm missing.  They do have some that have greeting cards with them. I wonder if they are okay to get without a load?  That would be cool.  One of the giftcards in that is pretty cool looking and I want it! LOL!

It was really busy when I got here, but it's cleared out a lot since then.  I thought they were having another promotion when I pulled up and saw all the cars! LOL  It was insanity.  I'm thinking it will clear out even more as the evening progresses.  Right now, It's not too bad.  I just wish I could get my table. :p Oh well!  At least I have a good one, right?  Okay, I'm going back to NaNo now.  I need to get the rest done and then I'll write that one single pen pal letter!

Okay, so maybe not that serious.  I got up and got ready for my walk today.  I heard a loud noise outside and thought to myself, what the heck was that!?  I looked out and didn't see anything so I turned around and then I noticed that the light was off.  I thought I had turned it on.  I looked around and noticed that none of my displays were lit.  Yup, something knocked the power out!

I went for my walk and hoped that it would be on when I got back. I wanted to get home, drink a cup of coffee and relax before doing my workouts.  The power was still out!  I texted a friend and he suggested we go eat since my power was out.  I couldn't fix coffee or do my workouts without power, so I said, yes!  We went to Reidsville, NC to a pizza place called Carmela's.  They have delicious pizza.  Afterwards, we wanted ice cream and I wanted coffee! LOL!  We went to the McDonald's.  He got ice cream and he got me one of their caramel macchiatos.  It wasn't bad!  

We came back to town and I came in and the lights were back. Yay!  I put my leftover pizza in the fridge and came to my room and did my workouts.  I got those done and then read some on Not Always Right.  I ate my leftovers for dinner and then did my NaNo for today. I got over 2000 words today and I am now past the 40,000 mark!  Yay!  All I have left to do is my French lesson on Duolingo and then I'm going to read with my Kindle until bed. ^_^

My new tags came today and I had to put them on the car.  I washed my car and then put them on.  I drove to dry the car and ended up at the drive thru at Starbucks. :p  Well, I had Starbux tags, I had to go to Starbucks with them, right?! :D  So, I took a couple of pictures. One a close up of the tag, one of the car with the tag with Starbucks in the background, and one of my drink.  It was a grande Cascara latte.  Sadly, it seems they are fazing out my beloved Cascara syrup. NOOOOO! :(  I'll just have to switch to caramel macciattos when they do!  Here are the pictures I took:

I got my walk in and my workouts done. I just need to do NaNo.  I am really ahead on NaNo, so I don't mind waiting a little later to get started.  I hope to get at least 2000 words tonight, if not, it's okay.  Like I said, I'm way ahead.  I went to the grocery store and found a some Starbucks coffee that was K-cups with flavor packets. IT's Caffe Latte in caramel.  I am going to fix a cup to drink during NaNo.  I hope it's delicious as it sounds!

I can sit and write a blog post for today.  It's been a long and busy one!  This morning, I got up and took the dogs out and then brought them in and had some glorious coffee.  I really needed it as I slept horribly last night.  I enjoyed every sip!  I did a few of my morning things and then had breakfast and more coffee! :P  I called my friend around 1:30 to check on their progress home.  They had just walked in their door!  I was surprised!  I jumped up, dressed, and walked the two dogs up.  Then, she drove me back down to get the crate and food that was left.  I rode with her to take that back and then I headed home.  I was going to do my workouts right then as it was almost time to do them, but I was tired and hot so I decided I'd get them in later.

I watched Sailor Moon until time for lunch.  I'm less than ten episodes from finishing! WAH!  I had a delicious lunch and then I went for a walk.  I walked down to Ballou Park.  I went in the park and then across the street into the shopping center.  I went in Dollar General to look around and then headed back.  I got a cute reusable drink cup in there that looks like a cola can.  It has  pink lid and there are gumballs on it.  I didn't really need it, but I bought it.  I thought it was on sale for 70% off, but it only rang up as 25% off.  I declined at first, but she tossed it in a hand basket to take back later and I felt bad for it so I bought it! LOL  Yeah, I'm weird.  In any case, it's now sitting here on my desk until I decide if I'm going to use it for drinks or for something else!

I ran out of the creamer that I really like today.  It's International Delight brand and the flavor is Caramel Macchiato.  When I bought it this month, I had a coupon for two of their products.  I got one of those and one of the one touch latte cans.  I also saw the store brand of the caramel creamer and decided to try it.  I did and it's almost exactly the same at the ID one. It's good and a bit cheaper.  That is always a good thing!

I came back from my walk and relaxed a bit.  It was really hot as I walked pretty fast.  I had my dinner and then watched some shows on HLN.  I did my workouts.  I washed two loads of clothes today and both are put away.  I also took a bath and washed my hair.  I'm all caught up on everything I needed to do today.  Go me!  Now, I'm just going to grab the Kindle and read until bedtime.  I hope to sleep well tonight.  I'll have the bed to myself, so that might help. You wouldn't think two little dogs would take up SO MUCH space! LOL!

So, I finally got my pen pal letters written today! I'll try to mail them out tomorrow. I went by Starbucks and brought home a drink.  I asked for a Cascara latte as I usually get it.  It wasn't right.  I'm not sure what I got, but it had a cinnamon flavor to it.  It was very strange!  The receipt doesn't say cascara latte either.  It has "cacmlatte" I thought maybe a caramel macchiato, but they don't taste like cinnamon!  I still don't know what I got. lol

So, I decided I wanted to do something totally different with my bedroom.  I wanted to move my bed to a different spot.  I moved a bunch of stuff in my room, and then moved my bed.  I didn't like how it fit in the spot I had picked.  It was a bit too big for the spot and it hung out a little bit in front of the window.  I didn't like that, so I moved it back!  It took a lot longer than it should have.  I did get the areas behind some of the furniture cleaned up though!  These pieces are hardly ever moved, so it was nice to get back there and clean those up.  I dusted and swept the entire corner.  Everything is back in place now and I'm tired!  I usually eat dinner at 8pm.  I just finished it about five minutes ago!  

Earlier today, I went with a couple of friends to Starbucks to get the bogof on the Caramel Macchiato deal.  I used my new tumbler and I love it!  It was BUSY in there.  I saw two of the regulars that I know from the old location.  My friend had an errand to run and we went and did that and then went back to Starbucks to the drive thru.  My friend's mom and son wanted Starbucks too! LOL  We got them theirs and took it to them.

I went home and fixed lunch as it was time to eat.  I relaxed and did some stuff around the house and then did my workouts.  It was later than usual, but they got done!  I was just watching television and trying to figure out how I wanted to move my room around.  I did that and as I said before, I moved it back! LOL

I am going to watch some Unsolved Mysteries and relax until bedtime.  I hope to get a good night's sleep!

Yeah, it's 7:36 am and I'm awake.  I didn't get to bed until almost 3 am too.  Oh well, it's a beautiful day and I can sit here and type a blog post and look at the beautiful ocean.  It's absolutely gorgeous again today.  Yesterday was pretty too.  We got out in the afternoon and went to eat.  Then we hit a bunch of thrift stores.  I found something in several of them.  I also was able to get to a Starbucks and get a caramel macchiato.  Yum!  Sadly, they didn't have the cascara latte.  

I had a free pizza from Hungry Howies, so we stopped by there on the way back to the room.  I ate half last night and I'm going to finish the rest in a little bit.  I forgot to order pepperoni. Oh NO!  I got a plain old cheese pizza.  Oh well, it's still good.  Oh! I forgot, we did go to a Dollar General and got some food, snacks, and water to have in the room.  We definitely needed some snacks. :p

We took a late night walk on the beach last night.  We didn't get started until after midnight. It was nice and peaceful.  I collected fifty more pounds of shells.  LOL  Not that many, but a lot! 

So, I'm going to sit here and enjoy this beautiful view and relax.  I wish I hadn't woken up so early, but I am at the beach.  No need to sleep my day away!  

Okay, so on Thursday morning, I got up at 6:30.  Our plan was to be on the road by 7.  My friend was running behind so it was about 8:30 when we finally got going.  We had breakfast from Hardee's.  He picked it up on the way and we ate in the car at my house before heading out.

We didn't stop until we got to Rockingham North Carolina. There is a Shell gas station there that also has a convenience store.  We always stop here to get gas, use the restroom, and get a snack.  I got a water and a Reese's.  Yum!  We headed on and got to our hotel at North Myrtle Beach around 1 pm.  We were able to check it immediately and went to our room.  I was a nice little room on the fifth floor.  We unpacked and then decided to order pizza.  An hour later, no pizza.  We called and then said, "It was just coming out of the oven."  After several other excuses.  We cancelled it and ordered from somewhere else.  That actually came and we ate.  I had mine on the balcony so I could enjoy the ocean while eating.

That evening, we went to Dollar Tree. I was able to get three packs of mini washi. :)  Also, there was a Starbucks across the street from the shopping center we were at, so I got myself a caramel macchiato. :D  We also went to a Goodwill and I got a really cool package of stickers and rub ons.  There were a LOT of them in there and I paid 6.99 for them.  There was some great stuff in there.  I'll do  a picture post tomorrow and show all the goodies.

We walked on the beach for a bit that night and then crashed not long after.  Friday morning, we got a late start and we wanted breakfast, so we went to a restaurant called Eggs Up Grill.  It was pretty good!  We went and got some snacks for the room at a Dollar General and then went back to the room.  We took ourselves out to the beach and set up an umbrella on the beach.  We spent about two hours on the beach.  I took a lot of pictures!  

That evening, we went to go to a Sonic that we had enjoyed last year.  Unfortunately it was closed.  Torn completely down and a car wash was in it's place!  We then decided to check out Red Robin but they were packed.  Golden Corral was the same way, so we looked up another Sonic on the GPS and went there.  We ordered and about 45 minutes later, we had no food!  We tracked down one of the car hops and she went to check.  It was 'wrong' and they had to re-make part of it but the other part had been sitting.  We asked to just cancel the order and get a refund.  They came out with the refund and the food.  They had re-made everything fresh.  We ate and then went to the Dairy Queen at Myrtle to get some ice cream.  We got that and then headed back to the room for the night. We walked on the beach too.

Saturday, we got up in time to make it to Golden Corral while they still had breakfast out.  It was right at the time they were switching to lunch, but I was still able to get eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Yay!  I also had a couple of their delicious yeast rolls and some cotton candy. LOL!  What a combo, eh?  After breakfast, we went by the Goodwill again.  I was able to get a nice water bottle (stainless and insulated!) for .99!  We got back to the room and I decided to walk. My friend stayed at the room as he planned to go on the beach.

I walked out to 17 and walked across the highway to a Bargain Beachwear.  I got a shirt, a key chain, a shell bracelet and a little present for my friend back home.  I walked down 17 and went into a Tuesday Morning.  I got a lot of discounted Smash journal stuff for less than $10!  I'll include that in tomorrow's picture post.  I then walked on to the Dollar Tree and got three more packs of that thin washi.  I also got a water.  I was going to get Starbucks, but I decided to just head back to the room.

I went back onto Ocean Boulevard and walked back to the hotel that way.  I spent balcony time and relaxed a bit. When my friend was ready to go to dinner, we headed out and decided on King's Famous pizza.  We've eaten here on a previous trip.  The food and the service were terrific!  He got spaghetti and I got my own little pepperoni pizza.  Dinner was delicious.  We drove up 17 all the way to Little River and then headed back.  We got some ice cream at the Sonic at NMB and then went to the room.

I walked on the beach by myself.  I didn't stay out long though as I was really tired from my walk earlier and I wanted to get most everything packed up since we would be leaving the next day.

Sunday started with me waking up way too early!  I finished my packing and then waited for my friend to get going.  We finally got checked out and then went to Bojangles for breakfast.  We stopped once more before leaving the beach.  We stopped at a gas station in Myrtle that we usually hit going out.  After filling up, we went in to use the restroom and he got a soda and a candy bar. I got a coffee and a candy bar.  

Speaking of coffee!  The hotel didn't have a coffee maker in the room, but luckily, the lobby had a nice coffee maker and fresh coffee brewed all the time.  I had some delicious coffee at the beach!  I also got to play Pokemon Go every day, too!

We stopped in Rockingham on the way home at the Sandwich Hut.  He got more gas, snacks, and took a bathroom break.  We then headed home.  It was too short of a trip, but it was nice. I'll do a picture post of some of my goodies tomorrow!
