Daily Feed

Hello from Sunday!

I finished my book today! I need to go back over the last few day's work and check it out.  I may need to add a few more things in, but it's pretty well done. I am almost at 55,000 words!  I might just write a few more and make it 55,000.  That would be neat. I am sure I have 800 more words I can add to it.

I got my usual Sunday stuff done today, bed linen washed, hair washed, etc.  I also washed a bunch of dishes and put away a load of laundry that was in the dryer from yesterday.  I meant to put them away last night but I was so tired last night I didn't even think about it.  I want to write on my story that I've had on semi-hold since the beginning of NaNo.  I also need to create the December habit tracker and the week's speak for the first week of December.  I will either do that tonight or tomorrow.  It's in my bujo to do today, but I might wait and do it tomorrow.  It depends on if I get on a roll while writing or not.

Thanksgiving and NaNoWriMo

I didn't go out to anyone's house for Thanksgiving this year.  I did do my tradition and drove down the main 'drag' in my city to see everything closed. I do this twice a year, Thanksgiving night and Christmas night.  It's just something I've been doing for years.  I did that and I came home and wrote 1000 more words for NaNoWriMo.  I am close to the end of this book, I still have some words to go.  It's supposed to be the summer session at the academy where my skaters go. It's late August now so it won't be much more.  I would like to write at least a little bit every day leading up to the 3oth as I want to get the update everyday badge! :P  I may or may not work on my other story tonight. I'm not sure. I'm really tired so I might just relax for a bit.  I've been doing more recovery work and I think I have just about 99.8% of my stuff back so I'm happy about that.  I just need to get a new hard drive cable, install that and clone my drive.  That is going to be fun. @_@;

Sunday stuff

Bed linen is in the dryer waiting to be put back on the bed.  Laundry from yesterday is put away, hair is clean, a few groceries are purchased!  It's been a day.  I knew going to the grocery store the weekend before Thanksgiving would be chancy, but I did it.  It wasn't too bad and I only needed a few things.  I got those and got out of there! lol

I got my word count today for NaNo but I didn't write on my other story. I meant to!  I hope to get some done on it tomorrow. I'm waaaay ahead on Nano at the moment!  I am at 45,680 words!  The main trouble I had for my character hasn't even happened yet. D'oh! That was not going to be the main issue in any case. I may have it happen right near the end to make a cliffhanger for the third book.  I might not even have this drama and go with something else. We'll see.  Right now, it's still undecided.

No excuses.

I'm sorry for not posting for two days. I meant to post every day but you know how that goes!  I am glad I remembered to post tonight! :p  I am now over 41,000 words on NaNo and I wrote a bunch on my other fic last night too.  I am hoping to get some written on it tonight, too.  I always make sure to get my NaNo words in first.  I am very tired, so if I get any words at all on my other work I'll be happy.

By the way, just out of curiosity, I downloaded another recovery software and it finds the parts on my drive that the one I was using won't find anymore. It only lets you recover 1Gb so I was able to get a few more things.  I am thinking if I download every recovery software that lets you get back so much stuff, eventually, I'll get it all back! lol, I would like to have it all.  The next bi thing on my work list is a new hard drive cable and I should be back in business with the internal drive I bought and I'll keep the 2 TB one for backups and such.

I washed a ridiculous amount of dishes today and I need to fix dinner but I am damned if I am going to dirty up any more plates or dishes tonight.  :p

Hoo boy!

I have been writing today, boi! I wrote over 2400 words for NaNoWriMo and then I went to my other story and wrote almost 2000!  I'm tired now.  I spend all day and part of the night trying to clone my drive.  I should have known something was off when it took so long.  It was a mess today.  I looked and found that it probably WAS the hard drive cable after all!  I am getting that adapter box tomorrow and I'll put the old hard drive in it.  If it recognizes it and reads it as a functioning drive, I know the next step is to replace the hard drive cable.  That should be fun! If that is the issue, it will be good to know.  Since I bought the little adapter thing, I can now use it as an extra backup drive.  It's 500 gb.  I am anxious to see it the drive it recognized. If it is I'm going to be irritated but happy if that makes any sense! Happy it works but irritated that I only needed an inexpensive cable.  Oh well, live and learn!  I'll update you tomorrow.  The package is coming via Amazon by USPS. It still makes me giddy when I get a package on a Sunday. I'm such a nerd. :P

This day is loooong and it's not over yet!

My internal hard drive came today.  I unpacked it and opened the Macbook Pro and pulled out the old drive.  Then, I found that I had to get the screws from the sides of the drive to put in the new one to securely mount it.  I, of course, didn't have the right screwdriver!  I looked online and Lowe's had one that was a multi head one and it was only $10 so I left the computer and ran over there and got it. Easy peasy getting those little screws out then and I have a tool for future use!

I get the new drive in and turn on the computer to do the disk copy.  Well, disk utility is being snarky. I look up information and see it's a glitch with Disk utility in Catalina that causes this and to go get a clone software.  Oh no! I thought, more money.  I found Carbon Copy Clone and it has a free trial. It's a fully functioning trial, In other words, you can do everything as if it's the full version. YES! Thank you, CCC!  If I ever need you again I'll be happy to purchase the full version.  I'm currently in the process of copying the external to the new internal and I'm hoping that goes well. It took some doing to even get everything to start but it seems to be rolling along now.

While I that is running in the background, my mail lady came. (The hard drive came via UPS) My new tags for my car came! YAY!!!!!!!!  I went out to put the back one on and I was NOT going to put the new tag in the damn front window so I got some tools and sat down and worked on getting the tag holder on the front. I had to go slowly and work diligently so that I didn't mess up my bumper.  I also had to bring something outside to sit on because the ground is still wet and pretty saturated from all the rains.  I got the little holder on and then I went and found (after a search)  the screws to attach the plate to the holder.  I had put them in the little compartment in the new car in a Ziploc but of course, I had forgotten ALL about that.  I finally remembered and put my tag on.  I now have a car with front and back tags.  I'm so proud of myself.  My friend kept saying he was going to do it but it's been since July, so...

I went out earlier before I knew I needed a screwdriver.  I knew via informed delivery that my new tags were coming today and I wanted to take my car over to Starbucks one more time with the STARBUX tags.  I got a Peppermint white mocha (delicious) and I took a picture of the car with the tags and Starbucks in the background.  I'm silly, I know but I don't care!

Of course with all the stuff I've been doing, I haven't written for NaNoWriMo yet.  I guess I'll be writing later this evening.  That isn't a problem at all.  I really want to work on my other story too, but NaNo work comes first!  The video I watched to make sure I was removing and installing the drive correctly gave links to the things he used.  He has a little 'case' to put the internal drive in to make it run like an external. I ordered one hoping I can access the drive.  I don't think I will be able to, but you never know! I'm hoping.

Here are the pictures I took at Starbucks. :)

If you are wondering what the little blob is in the first picture on the upper right, it's LSP from Adventure Time! Oh, My Glob! lol

It was like this....

I actually had the blog posting option open on my laptop last night to post.  I was working along on some of my writing.  I had gotten my days NaNo session done and had worked on the other story I've been writing.  I got on a roll on that one and when I finally took a breath and looked at the clock, it was after midnight. D'oh!  So, I didn't post here last night as I planned, but here I am tonight.

I have been gone all day on a thrift run.  My friend got off at noon and he and I went on our thrift run, Reidsville, Eden, and then Martinsville.  I got a lot of goodies and some useful things, too! I found a wireless mouse almost exactly like the one I have brand new for $2.99.  I don't need one now, but it never hurts to have a spare.  It is Logitech just like the one I use every day with my MacBook Pro.  I like the wireless ones a lot.  I got four candles, a lot of crafting stuff (card stock, scrapbook papers, a whole bag of assorted stampers, and some envelopes and notepads.  I also got other assorted things. It was a good run. In the last Goodwill, there was one of those metal pencil/pen holders that had pencils in it.  Brand new, Ticonderoga pencils just chilling in it.  I picked it up and got the pencils and the container for .99ยข!   I love Ticonderoga pencils so 24 brand new ones in a pencil cup? Yes, please!  One of the useful things I got was a George Foreman grill in the Salvation Army store in Eden. The inside looked brand new.  Mine has gotten where the coating is starting to come off (the non-stick stuff). I saw this one for $7.99. I plugged it in and the light came on so I figured I would take a chance with it working.  I was going to replace mine with a new one but this was a lot cheaper!  If it works, that will be great.  It was a fun trip and I came home and unloaded all my goodies, looked through them, and then got to work on today's NaNo session.  I hit my 10,000-word mark yesterday! Yay!

I may write a little on my other work.  I am running another disk recovery app on the Mac. I'm hoping it will let me recover at least my old Scrivener files and THIS time, I'd definitely going to back them up on Dropbox and the MBP! I started the lately scan today before I left and it's still running.  That is over ten hours so far! Sheesh! The bad thing with this one is there is no progress bar.  I hope it's still scanning away.  Who knows?

Hello from Wednesday!

So, I found a software that does recovery.  Sadly, it only lets you get so much back for free.  The price is expensive so I will only be able to get a little bit.  The good about this program is that I can save the search I don't have to do it again.  It's been scanning for HOURS and it is only at 66%. Ahhhhhhh! I might be able to get some important things with the limited version.  I also plan to keep the program in case I'm able to get a license to recover it all.

I had to run out for a bit today so I headed to Starbucks! I had a prize from the summer game that was for 50% off a Frappuccino.  I wanted to use it as it runs out tomorrow.  I got a venti caramel ribbon crunch one for half off. It was very tasty!  I got my word count in for NaNo too.  I will hit 10,000 words tomorrow!!!  Whoo Hoo!  I am trying to decide where I want to get myself a pizza. It's now a tradition.  I hit 10,000 words on NaNo, I get pizza!  I'm ready for it now! :p

OH DEAR!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a hectic 24 hours for me.  Last night I did a write-in for NaNoWriMo and that was fun!  My computer was slowing down terribly so I went to restart it.  I was smart enough to back up the day's writing in Evernote.  Good thing I did because my hard drive failed quite spectacularly!  I went to Target and bought an external hard drive and I was able to re-install Lion (SO OLD) and then I was able to upgrade to... I think it was El Capitan and from that, I was able to install Catalina.   I currently have Scrivener, Chrome, and Evernote on here.  I am going to try to save my files from the bad hard drive, but for now I'm satisfied.  I have my first two days of NaNo writing and I can keep on.  I haven't written today because I was trying to get my MacBook Pro back to a working laptop.  It is and I hope tomorrow to get the files from the dead drive. It's there, but I'm going to have to do so work to get my files back. I'm just happy to have a working laptop for now.  The other stuff will come later.  I'm going to get my daily word count for NaNo and I'll feel so much better.  Wish me luck in getting all my files back!

Day one complete!

I actually got a great start to this year's NaNoWriMo.  I have 2230 words!  It was easy to get back into the story and the characters.  I thought it would be harder since I've been working on my other story, but I jumped right in.  I am going to write some on the other story tonight, too. I have been busy today.  I went to Starbucks in the early afternoon and then came back here and wrote.  I put away the laundry I washed yesterday and washed my bed linen. It's in the dryer now.  I washed my hair and I'm currently posting this while sitting under the hair bonnet dryer.  I washed dishes, too.  I am extremely tired today.  My sleep last night was horrendous.  I woke up around 7 and had so much pain I couldn't go right back to sleep. I got up for a little bit and walked around and came back to bed and laid down.  I was finally able to get back to sleep, but I kept waking up.  It was not the best night.

My day would have been great after getting Starbucks, but they gave me the wrong thing! :( I was so disappointed.  They were extremely busy so I didn't want to have to go in or go back through the line so I just came home with it.  They never and I mean, never get my order wrong. This was just not the day for that!  I am still doing daily Zeeops via Munzee and I was able to take care of today's mission while I was in line at Starbucks! lol My mission was to get 200 points by deploying or captured Munzees.  I have a virtual at Starbucks and I magnetized it for an hour.  It will bring Munzzess to the Munzee you magnetize and you can capture them.  They will be random ones so I can capture my own Munzee because it's not 'mine' for the times the random ones come.  It lasts for an hour or until three Munzzees are captured.  I was able to do that while in line. That was easy peasy and I'm glad because after getting the wrong drink, I was just ready to be home!

I am going to sit here until my hair is dry and then I'll worry about what I'm going to fix for dinner.  I'm very hungry, but I don't have anything I want.  I might break down and make a hash brown casserole, but I'm a bit reluctant since I JUST washed dishes!
