Evernote Feed

Oops I did it again!

Totally meant to post last night.  I've been trying out different recovery software and I FINALLY found one that will let me get up to 1 GB of data. I was able to get my Scrivener files. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am now hoping to find a discount link so that I can purchase the license for the program so I can get everything back. It's less than the other software options I've tried and I've been able to get my Scrivener stuff so I'm happy to use it.  I just need to save up for it.

I participated in a virtual write-in again tonight and I just realized that I never ate dinner. D'oh!  I was busy working with the program trying to recover files right up until I went into the session. I got my writing done with everyone and was happy to know it's all back again! (all my old works)  So so, relieved to have that. I have now done backups to Dropbox and I plan to do weekly ones. I'll still do daily ones to Evernote!  Evernote saved my butt last week for sure! Now I have to get something to eat and I am going to relax.  So happy to have my old Scrivener files!

OH DEAR!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a hectic 24 hours for me.  Last night I did a write-in for NaNoWriMo and that was fun!  My computer was slowing down terribly so I went to restart it.  I was smart enough to back up the day's writing in Evernote.  Good thing I did because my hard drive failed quite spectacularly!  I went to Target and bought an external hard drive and I was able to re-install Lion (SO OLD) and then I was able to upgrade to... I think it was El Capitan and from that, I was able to install Catalina.   I currently have Scrivener, Chrome, and Evernote on here.  I am going to try to save my files from the bad hard drive, but for now I'm satisfied.  I have my first two days of NaNo writing and I can keep on.  I haven't written today because I was trying to get my MacBook Pro back to a working laptop.  It is and I hope tomorrow to get the files from the dead drive. It's there, but I'm going to have to do so work to get my files back. I'm just happy to have a working laptop for now.  The other stuff will come later.  I'm going to get my daily word count for NaNo and I'll feel so much better.  Wish me luck in getting all my files back!

A little Prep

I am still not sure if I'm doing my zombie fic or the skating fic, but I am working on full character profiles for my skating characters.  I'm probably going with that to do for NaNo. If not that, a whole new one.  I do want to write more on my zombie fic, but I'm not sure I want to do that for this year's NaNo.  I might re-read the first four and see.  I have a lot of ideas for the skating story, so ...  Yes, I still have no clue which to do. :P

I had all the stuff in one notebook stack in Evernote.  I fixed that by making two stacks in Evernote.  One for the zombie books and one for the skating books.  It makes it easier to keep up with everything.  I love Evernote so much!  It's so dang handy!  I still use an Evernote template for my characters.  I write up the info in the template in Evernote. I keep a copy of it in there and I copy the templates into Scrivener.  That way I can reference it either way.  It helps to have those in Evernote for on the go since I always have my phone with me.

Missing brush, found lipbalm?

Okay, so... since I got home from the beach, I'm missing my round brush.  I'm sure it's here because we always check the room a few times before leaving. It's probably somewhere I haven't looked.  I did look in my car just in case it fell out there.  While I was looking in there I found a tube of my Softlips lip balm. I have no idea when it got in there.  I know it's mine but I'm not sure where it came from. lol

As we were leaving the room, I couldn't lay my hands on my Starbucks tumbler that I took with me.  I had filled it with coffee for the road.  When we stopped at Victoria's for breakfast, I looked in the car, but we'd packed it so tight, I couldn't get to everything to look.  Happily, it was located when I unpacked everything in my house.

During the trip, my friend bought five CDs at a Goodwill and they went missing.  We went to a car wash while at the beach and they had vacuums.  We were vacuuming out the car and I located his CDs under the passenger seat.  Neither of us put them there, so I don't know how the heck they got there!  When I told him about my brush missing, he said to look in the car.  "Maybe they fell into the abyss like my CDs!"  :p.  I didn't find the brush but I found a random lip balm.  Weird stuff. Hopefully, the brush will also turn up eventually.  I didn't pack it last, it went in on Saturday night because I had my other brush out and it made it home!  I swear, weird stuff happens like that a lot.

OH! I meant to mention about the missing part of my book from April.  I found it!  When I pasted it in Evernote, I pasted the same day twice but labeled it different days.  I was able to fix that in Evernote. I like to have it in Evernote for on the go in case I want to review parts and to write myself notes for the next book. It was a whole day I was missing, not just a scene. D'oh!

Hmm

So when I wrote my latest book for Camp Nano back in April, I saved each day as a separate file in Evernote. I saved it all in a notebook for that book. I was re-reading through it recently and realized that there is a part missing.  I also found a continuity error and a place where I need to rename a character.  What worries me is the missing portion. I'm hoping it's actually in Scrivener and for some reason I didn't copy and paste that part into Evernote. I think for Novembers NaNo I'm going to write the second book to this one.  I really love the characters and they have a good future.

I'll use Preptober to do some character profiles and plan out the details for the next book.  I'm opening Scrivener now to see if that part is there or if I have to add it back.  I introduced a character when I was writing, but his intro is missing in the copied parts. D'oh!

Munzee and more!

I received a new traveler's notebook in the mail today. :P. This one is bigger than a passport size.  It will hold small Moleskine cahiers and Field Note notebooks.  I made mine into a Munzee kit!  I can use it as that and if I want to change it up, carry it as a smaller tn in the future! I like the way I set it up.  I want to get another pocket type insert.  The one I'm using cam in another thing I got and I saved it. It fits perfectly in this little TN and I can store Munzees in there.  All the extras I have in an old Altoid tin.  I can add more to the TN as needed.  Neat, yes?

Of course, I had to give it a test run!  First I drove to a place where there was a virtual Munzee and captured it, then I rode to Ballou park and drove around trying to decide where to deploy a couple of Munzees.  I have deployed several in the park.  You can deploy one within 50 feet of someone else's and at least 150 feet from your own. (Or the other way around, I forget! LOL!) Anyway!  I was able to deploy two and that was fun.  I took pictures of the TN while there since I was outside is beautiful natural light.  Here are the pictures:

This is the TN itself.  I put it in the bag my Foxy came in to carry it in my purse.  It's such a cute size!

The inside.  I have a Moleskine Evernote notebook in there.  I am using it to keep track k of the Munzees as I deploy them to keep a record. (I also have a tracker in my bujo)

The little plastic guy that I'm using for now to hold my Munzees.  I used washi tape to secure everything since it's easy to remove and re-stick.  The blue post it has a list of ones that I need to repair that I've deployed in the past.

I think this will be a neat system and I can easily toss this TN in another bag if I go out without my  purse.  I think I'm going to love it.  I found this TN on Amazon for a very good price. It comes in brown, black, and dark brown (what I have).  Very nice quality. It came with one notebook and an extra band. Highly recommended!

Evernote love!

If you have read my blog for a while, you know I love Evernote. I have Moleskine Evernote notebooks, en Evernote Jot stylus, and even some cool Evernote stickers.  I added one more thing to my collection today.  This awesome Evernote triangle messenger/laptop bag.  It was originally sold via Evernote Marketplace.  Sadly, they closed shop so it's hard to find anything except via eBay or other second hand methods.  Well, I found my holy grail of Evernote items.  (well, one of two.  There is still a shirt I must have!) Anyway!  I found two sellers with the Evernote commuter bag on eBay recently and I was able to snag one.  It's so cool!  It is very awesome. It takes up a small amount of space, but it has a lot of room inside!  It is made to sit upright on the desk or surface you are using.  I love it.  I can't wait for things to get back to normal so I can take it to Starbucks. :)

I took a few pictures to share. I couldn't do outside pictures because of the rain, but I tried my best to use the best lighting. I swear the lighting in my house SUCKS!  I should have filled the bag for one shot, but I didn't.  Here is the outside and two shots of inside:

That little divider in the last picture can be moved.  It originally came with two more of those, but I'm not complaining. I'm going to move that one down to the end and have it big enough to hold my laptop charger. I'll have the rest of the room for other stuff.  That is the one thing about most laptop bags, they aren't really designed for chargers! This has room for it and so much more.  I love that the front flap folds down so you can get to everything.

The seller also tossed in an unexpected bonus.  A Moleskine travel journal!  Awesome sauce!  You know I love Moleskines!  Such a nice surprise. ^_^.

Good mail day!

Why?  Well, three different orders came! I got an adorable pencil case that I've been eyeing forever. It was out of stock for the longest time. I got a notification that it was available and I ordered it. It came today.  I also got a nice set of Starbucks cards from eBay.  All were ones I needed that I didn't have except one. Well, there were about three that I did have but they weren't 'mint' as in they had their code uncovered.  I was able to swap those out and add all these new cards to my collection.  It was 40 cards in all so I made a good contribution to my collection!   I am going to put them all in order at some point, but for now, they are all in there as I get them.

The third item I got was a cute Evernote/Moleskine notebook. It's the smaller one.  Around 3in x 5 inches.  It's black with an Evernote green ribbon bookmark, green elastic, and it has the elephant embossed with other stuff on the front. It came with one of the Moleskine slip-on pens, too!  Also, it had the code in there for 3 months of Evernote premium! YAY!  I like this size notebook for slipping into my purse.  Plus it's Moleskine and Evernote!  It's a 'smart notebook' so it has the stickers so you can scan the pages into Evernote.  Very nifty.  I can always use a new notebook, and I love pens!  The 3 months of premium just sealed the deal!

Here is the pencil case. It's a pulldown one that can be used as a pen cup.  So cute and it's beautiful!

Isn't that pretty!  I keep my most used pens in a case with my bujo. I also have a few other pens in there that aren't used as much and a small ruler, a pencil, and a ballpoint pen. Before, I just used a basic pencil case. This is cool.  I love it!

Is this Friday?

Yeah, I don't know.  I finished the true crime book I was reading today.  I immediately was looking for something else to read on my Kindle.  You can search the Kindle store on it. You could on my Kindle keyboard but it was a much longer process!  I found a zombie book that looked pretty good for free. It's the first of a series, so I downloaded it.  I have read a little over half of it already! :P

Have I mentioned I love my new Kindle?  I love my new Kindle.  It's so small, even with the case and it fits nicely right into my purse.  I can carry it with me when I can go back in public again! Yay!  If the other books in this series are on Kindle Unlimited, I might just give it a go.  Three free months is a good deal!  I have noticed a lot of times when I find a zombie book that I like that I get the first in a series for free the rest are available to borrow with Kindle unlimited.

I hit the 30,000 mark in Camp NaNo today!  It's going well.  I sit to write and it's just flowing. It's great. It's fun writing new characters. I love my zombie fiction characters, but these guys are pretty cool too.

In the mail today, I got the oldest Starbucks card in my collection.  It's actually the second one released in the US.  I was so happy to get it for a good price.  My dream card is the first one of course, but I was extremely happy to get this one!

Isn't it nice?  I loved adding this to my collection.   It's in great condition, too! Yay! I am only waiting on one package now and that is the other Kindle case I ordered.

I haven't added one of these in a while, so!  How I'm using Evernote today:  I am copying the text of each day's Camp NaNo writing into Evernote.  That way I have a backup and I can read over it on my phone.  I find more things I need to fix this way! ;p
