Tuesday thrift

My friend and I went on our usual Tuesday thrift, but with a twist. We went to a few other cities too. We went to Reidsville first, as always. We ate there and then went to Salvation Army. I found two mugs, one Starbucks and one vintage mug. I also found a nice black Fossil purse. At Goodwill, I found a cute Paris-themed kitchen set (hot pad and hot glove), a cute little ornament, and a small zipper pouch. I'm going to use it for earbuds.  We went to Eden and I found a pouch that was FULL of pens/pencils and various items. Just look at how much they jammed in this pouch for $4

PXL_20220823_215354458

There are so many pens and pencils. Also some tape, a glue stick, paperclips, binder clips, Post-it flags, Post-it minis, and a nice stapler. All this for $4. Not bad, eh? We also went to the Salvation Army there too and I got a Happy Planner (without the discs). The last thing I got was a 2011 Starbucks tumbler. A It was a good little trip.

Small thrift

My friend and I went to one of our favorite places to eat today so we went to a couple of Goodwill stores, too. I didn't a lot. At one, I got two books, an old HTML one and a Wordpress one.  At the other, I found a few little things and one huge nostalglic one! What was that? Well, when I was little, I had a cool thing from Whitman that was 56 games in one box. I've found modern versions of this, but nothing beats the old one that I had.  It was lost many years ago, but I found one today and it's MINT. It looks almost brand new and it's from 1976. Nice! I even remember some of the little game 'boards' in there. Cool!  Here is the box, it's in such great condition.

I'm very happy that I found this. It was so much fun to see it again after all this time. :) By the way, I paid .99¢!

Sorry!

I meant to post last night but I never got around to it. I thought about it too late to get one in.  I didn't really do much yesterday. Today, my friend and I did our usual thrift trip.  I didn't find a lot this trip.  It was a bit of a letdown. I did find one nice Starbucks ceramic 8oz tumbler at the Goodwill in Reidsville. It's immaculate. I don't think it was ever used.

PXL_20220305_025803196.MP

I also found a cool Halloween book and a sleep aid device. The sleep device is $60 on Amazon. :O

Oh and here is the lid of the Starbucks tumbler:

PXL_20220305_025806614.MP

All in all not a lot of finds, but several pretty good ones. The other things I found were a lingerie laundry bag, a steno notebook, a box of straws, and a 9volt battery! lol

Oops!

I never meant to stop posting. I actually meant to try to post more regularly this year. D'oh!  I was going to post this last night, but I was extremely tired, felt like crap, and just wanted to relax. I even went to be early!  I'm feeling a lot better today, so I thought I would try to get a blog post out so maybe I could get back in the habit of it! My city and area is under a winter storm advisory. It's gone from a dusting to up to 12 inches, to 3 inches, to 6 inches, etc. Who knows what we'll actually get? :p  I am prepared in case. I have my power box thing ready and I'm charging another one I have too. I also have candles set aside, Sterno, and my little Sterno stoves. I'm ready in case we do have a power outage. My one power thingee is almost fully charged, but I cannot figure out where in the heck I put its charging cord. ARGH!  I'll look again later. I was getting frustrated looking earlier. I'm going to relax until lunch, eat that and then look again.

Yesterday, my friend and I went on a thrift trip yesterday. It has been a while! We went to Reidsville and then to Walkertown and Mayodan.  We ate at a little restaurant in Reidsville and then went to Goodwill. We'd already visited the Salvation Army store.  I only got a little green dish, a Starbucks mug, and a little hook thing in there. Of these items, only the green dish will be in the picture below!  After eating, we went to Goodwill. I found a nice Fossil wallet for $1.99 so I got it.  We then headed to Walkertown. They usually have a LOT of stuff in certain areas, but they were very limited on items in those areas. My friend and I figured either someone came in and bought a ton of stuff or they tossed a bunch of stuff out.  It was a big difference. Weird.  I only got three pouches there, two identical ones with cute cacti and a glittery one from Seattle. I also got a little case that had Mtn. Dew on it and it had a pair of earbuds in it and a car charger. Neat!! All but one of the Cactus pouches are in the picture below!

We went to Mayodan last and I was finding things left and right. lol I found two brand new lamps still in the box.  I also found a selfie ring light. I had been looking at them on Amazon to use for filming unboxing, and taking pictures of things I buy to make a brighter picture since the lighting in my house sucks. It was $3 and it had the phone holder, tripod, and power cord/usb charger. Nice! It's not pictured in the photo below but it was used to take all the pictures. :p  I also got a set of two cute Penquin Starbucks mugs, 2020 The year of the Introvert mug, a cute SakRoots wallet (brand new with the strap still with it), a cute candle, and a vintage Jeopardy board game. Great haul. It was a fun trip and we ate in Reidsville on our way back through at Pete's Burgers and More one of my favorite places!  I made a cute spread in my DPC journal as a memory page of the finds.  As I said before, not everything is shown, but it is the majority of my items.

Thrift

Cute, yes? I love my DPC planner and all my thrift goodies!

Greensboro thrifing list and picture! :p

Here you go, here is the picture of all my goodies. I'll do a list under it, too.  It was a successful trip with lots of goodies. The only thing in the picture that I didn't buy is the Saucony shoes, my friend got those for me since they were my size and in such great shape.

An undated planner
A mostly empty six-ring planner binder
A full six-ring planner

A planetarium thingee
A Sakroots convertible bag. You can carry it as a backpack or a cross-body! Very neat.

Very crazy but fun trip. We went to seven or eight different Goodwill stores.  It was fun and as you see, I got a lot of stuff. Today I'm just staying home and relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. ^__^

I'm not dead!

I am so sorry for not posting in so long. I don't know how the time got away from me. I was thinking it had only been about a week, it's been almost two! D'oh!  There have been a few thrift trips since I last posted.  I found some goodies as always.  I realized my Starbucks tumbler collection was growing at an incredible rate, so i decided to do something about it!  I have a china hutch in a room in my house that was full of miscellaneious dishes.  I cleared those out and it now holds the majority of my Starbucks tumbler collection. There are still about 10 that I didn't put in.  I also did put in mugs or ceramic tumblers.  It looks nice and there is plenty of room for more. I put the French press in there, too! (The Starbucks one of course)

I have been writing on my Camp NaNoWriMo work and have long since past the 50,000 mark.  I am trying to decide what I'm going to do for actual NaNoWriMo in November. I have been re-reading some of the last zombie book I wrote and I may right the next book in that series. I just have to figure out what happens next.

Again, sorry for not posting in so long. I have been enjoying the heck out of digital planning and I adore eerything I have gotten from DPCDigitals. Either the freebies or the things I've bought.  I get to use my one month planner I bought from them on Sunday. Yay!  I will try to remember to put a link to them in my links on the sidebar.  If you are new to Digital planning, they are the best. You can get so many freebies and their stuff in their Etsy store is very reasonably priced. Check them out!

Yes, the last time I posted was a week ago. Sorry about that! I have NOT found my Golla pouch! I have looked several times but so far, it's nowhere to be found. It will show up eventually. I thought I'd check on eBay to see if I could find one.  I found someone selling the exact same pouch in a different color scheme.  Mine is dark grey on the outside and purple on the inside. The one I found on ebay is light grey on the outside and orange on the inside. It's brand new, too!  I ordered it and the estimate was from May 28 - June 2. I was hoping earlier since I bought it for the beach!  Luckily, it came on Wednesday!  I have it and it's ready to go to the beach.  Wednesday was also a busy day. My friend purchased a new car that for himself. It's a 2018 and it's very nice. He has been wanting to get a newer car so we don't put so many miles on Goontz. It will be a thrift trip and beach trip vehicle. He'll keep his old vehicle for work and other stuff.  It's very nice and it's comfy to ride in.  He got it Wednesday and we rode up to Nathalie where I got my title transfer and tags for Goontz back in July. We had to wait a long time then, Wednesday we didn't have to wait at all! It was crazy, but nice!

We came back to Danville and then he wanted to drive the car a bit more so he suggested driving to Reidsville. Since we had been holding off on thrift trips because of the upcoming beach trip, this was a great idea! We ate at Pete's and went to the Goodwill.  I got the cutest little Starbucks cup. It's 3 oz and adorable. I am very happy to add it to my collection.  Here is that and the new pouch. The color is so pretty and bright. I think it's very beachy! :)

I love my new pouch!  It's so pretty! The little Starbucks cup is adorable.  So tiny.  Sorry again for such a long time between posts. I'm sure I'll make up for it during the beach trip! I'll try my best to post again tomorrow and Sunday, too.  We leave for the beach on Monday.

Impromtu Thrift!

Yeah, there were absolutely no plans to thrift today.  My friend has been saying he'd put new tires on Goontz since we've driven it so much and it was needed new tires when he got it.  He took it today and got tires.  He then wanted me to drive it to see how it felt with the new tires.  That was nice.  I switched spots with him and we went by Wendy's for me to grab a bite to eat as it was past my lunchtime.  After that, we went to Cookout so he could get a shake.  He mentioned drying on the highway and said something about Eden, NC.  I said, how about Martinsville instead.  That is what we did.  We went to the Goodwill in Martinsville and the one in Bassett (just up the road about 10 minutes).  At the first GW, I found some Avery address labels new in the package, three packs of business card binder pages, (I use these for my Starbucks cards), a purple binder with some divider inserts already in there, a cute little canvas bag, and a plastic kitchen spoon!  That was a nice little haul.  We went to the Bassett one and I found a pair of Dr. Martens in my size that looked almost brand new.  They were $40 and I didn't have that much, so my friend got them and I'm going to pay him back $10 a month for the next four months. Cool!  They are pretty cool, they are a bit shiny and look either purple or burgundy.  Just depends on the lighting.  They are very cool and I've never had a pair of Docs.  Here they are:

PXL_20210325_004436520.MP

Cool, yes? My size, in great condition for a good price, and they are comfy!  I was very pleased to get them.  The only other thing I found in there was a puzzle.  I got it for .69¢. I really need to start working on puzzles again!  While we were out, we went by the car wash and washed Goontz.  Later, we took it by another car wash and I vacuumed it well.  My Goontz has new tires, is clean inside and out and I'm pleased! ^_^

Here is the cute little bag. It has blueberries on it! It has a tag that says, "Stonewall Kitchen" in it.  I just thought it adorable and had to have it. It rang up a whole .99¢!

Impromptu thrift trips are fun!  In other news, my set of Styluses that I ordered from Amazon came today.  I also received my order from eBay of two DS games. One is Scribblenauts and one is an Adventure Time game! YAY! The AT game is, "Hey Ice King! Why Did You Steal Our Garbage??!" :p

Tuesday seems to be a thrift day......

So I was sitting at home on the laptop and my friend texted and asked if we were going to Reidsville today. I said sure if he wanted.  I got dressed and then went over to his house. He pulled up right after I did, so that was great timing.  We got on the road after he went in for a few and went to the Salvation Army store first.  I found a few things in there.  I found a removable purse organizer (can also be used for bullet journal organization), a clear zipper pouch for a binder, a puzzle,  a little Post-it note dispenser, and I think that was it.  My friend found a nice car phone holder and bought it for me.  We left there and went to Pete's to eat.  After Pete's, we went to the Goodwill. Wait, he ran by a music store first, and then we went to Goodwill.  At Goodwill, I found a Fossil bag, It's one of the Key.Per bags.  It still had its key and little 'charm' thingee, too! I also found a little wooden 'basket' with jack o lanterns on both ends, I got a mini lunchbox with snowmen on it, and a nice Kitchen Aid kettle. I've been meaning to buy a kettle and I saw this one and it's in great shape and the inside is very clean.  We left there and went back to Pete's and got ice cream before heading back to Danville.  We went to the two Goodwill stores here.  We went to the regular one and I only found one thing. It was a cute ceramic Jack o lantern.  We went to the other one.  Now, for this store, we went once several years ago and they were rude and really pissed me off and I haven't been back since. I decided to give them one more chance and we went tonight.  Luckily it was different people working and much nicer ones, too!  I got TWO Fossil bags!  I also found a CD, a little package of Jack O lantern bags/envelopes, and a little thing of notes that are shaped like A's, and the little container that holds them has A's on it too.  Very cute  It was a good thrift trip! I wasn't really expecting it. I thought he would want to skip it but he didn't.  I am glad he didn't. Three 'new' Fossil bags! :)  It seems like I am forgetting something but I can't remember what it is! I did write today. I actually got in a little over 2000 words! I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to do CampNaNoWriMo this year and if I do, what I'm going to do for it.  I don't have a lot of time left to figure it out!

I just remembered the other thing I got tonight. The GW I gave another chance to had clothes hangers 10 for $1 so I got one pack. I seem to always be out of hangers! So, that is it, the accounting of my day.  I am home and I'm going to get off this laptop as soon as I post this. I am going to relax a bit before bed and re-read what I wrote today.  I have two packages that I hope are coming tomorrow. One package has two DS games that I found on eBay and the other package is a set of styluses for it. The first order never came and the seller refunded me so I ordered another set on Amazon.  I know Ill get those!  The next thing I want to get for it is a replacement bottom screen and then a clear case for the outside but those can both wait.

Well that didn't work!

My laptop bag came today and although it's lovely and sturdy, it's not wide enough.  If I have my laptop in it alone, it's fine, but if I add my charger and Anything else, it's bulky and looks bad. I decided that I would look around town for something else. I found a few options on clearance on the Office Max website. I was debating on two.  I decided to go over and see what I could find.  The one I had looked at that I thought I was going to get was way too small. It was marked as a lot bigger on the website.  It took forever for me to find it, too since I was looking for a bigger bag.  I saw another bag that I REALLY liked while looking for that one.  It was a bit more than the one I had been there to look at, and a few dollars more than the other one I had looked at, but it was perfect. It's grey and aqua and aqua is my color!  It has several zipper pockets.  The other bag had one on the outside and the inside had the laptop pocket on one side and two little pockets on the other.  Not great for organization.

The new bag has a big section with the padded laptop 'sleeve' area.  There is a zipper pocket in front of that with some organizer parts and the front has a slip pocket and a small zipper pocket. It also has two pockets on either side for a water bottle or coffee tumbler. :p It's very sturdy and I love it.  It has a top handle which is a feature I love on backpacks and it's a sturdy handle, too.  I really like this bag.  I can load up everything I need to go to Starbucks! :p Or the beach, or wherever.  I did think to take a picture of it in my car when I came out of Office Max. I knew I would probably be later getting home and wanted a picture in natural light.  Here is that picture:

PXL_20201205_214140701.MP~2

I love it!  Now, after I got that, I went to grab some lunch since it was way past my lunchtime.  I got a burger and ate in my car.  I headed home and as SOON as I pulled down my street to pull into my driveway, I got a text message from Munzee.  Their system has been down ALL day.  There was a special Munzee that I had wanted to try and cap but Munzee was completely 'broken' all day. Of course, the minute I get home, it is up! I figured that the special Munzee would be gone, but I checked the app.  It was going to be there for another hour.  I backed up and went right back out and got it! lol. I got one more that I hadn't gotten on that side of town and headed home.  That completed my Zeeops mission for today, too!  I was quite happy that the special was still there. I just knew it was going to be gone by the time it came back up.  I just checked and I got a badge for catching it.  The "Over The Rainbow" badge.  I LOVE the Wizard of Oz, so that made me doubly happy. :)

Hello from Wednesday!

So, I found a software that does recovery.  Sadly, it only lets you get so much back for free.  The price is expensive so I will only be able to get a little bit.  The good about this program is that I can save the search I don't have to do it again.  It's been scanning for HOURS and it is only at 66%. Ahhhhhhh! I might be able to get some important things with the limited version.  I also plan to keep the program in case I'm able to get a license to recover it all.

I had to run out for a bit today so I headed to Starbucks! I had a prize from the summer game that was for 50% off a Frappuccino.  I wanted to use it as it runs out tomorrow.  I got a venti caramel ribbon crunch one for half off. It was very tasty!  I got my word count in for NaNo too.  I will hit 10,000 words tomorrow!!!  Whoo Hoo!  I am trying to decide where I want to get myself a pizza. It's now a tradition.  I hit 10,000 words on NaNo, I get pizza!  I'm ready for it now! :p

Slow Sunday

It's Sunday yet again and I'm currently washing my bed linens.  I was about to toss them in the wash when I realized that I washed a load of laundry last night and left it in the dryer after it dried so now I have to get that out to finish my bed linen. D'oh!  I was in the kitchen (where the washer and dryer are) and was about to start my bed linen drying when I realized.  I already had my pot of water on the stove to warm for washing my hair, so I just decided I'd wash it, dry it and then fold the laundry and dry the bed linen.

I started a new puzzle today.  It's a Puzzlebug one and I'm happy about that.  They just seem to be the best quality puzzles I've found that I can get at Dollar Tree.  The pieces are a decent size, they interlock well, and they are nice.  I'm currently working one with a lot of sky and a lighthouse.  I got a good portion done before stopping.

As soon as my hair is done drying, I will be working on putting away laundry.  Yes, I'm currently sitting under the hair bonnet dryer.  See my setup:

20200322_170801

That is the puzzle in the background. Here is what I've done so far:

20200322_164109

It's going to be another pretty one.  After I get the laundry put away and my bed linen in the dry, I'm going to relax for a bit.  I might read or work on more things to add to my Foxy Fix.  I love that thing so much.  The first time I ever saw a FF that was the Sugar Coconut, I fell in love.  I wanted a Foxy and I wanted a Sugar Coconut.  They aren't on the site anymore so I'm thinking it's a retired color.  I would see them from time to time on buy/sell sites but never a size I wanted of if it was the right size, it was too expensive.  When I saw this one, and the price with shipping being $20 I couldn't believe my luck.  It's b6 and that is just a bit smaller than A5.  I like A5 size and this is so close that it's perfect.  I am so happy I found the right size notebooks for it.  I just want to make another folder.  Since I have three inserts, I would like to have three folders.  I have the two folders I made in the Foxy.  One is behind notebook two and the other is at the back behind notebook 3.  I want to make one more and put it behind notebook one.  They are so easy to make with file folders that I already have on hand.  :)

NaNoWriMo and my Midori Traveler's Notebook

I didn't get as many words for NaNoWriMo today as I've been getting, but I still got over 1600.  I am getting there!  I am now on the down stretch.  I think. LOL. I noticed my writing seems to be slowing down.  I've been using my Midori TN that I got recently and I love it.  I'm seriously thinking of making it my TN for 2020!  We'll see how it goes closer to January. I try to get whatever I'm going to use set up in advance.  I'll decide soon.  For now, I wanted to share a picture of some of the goodies I put in there for decoration.  In the little clear pocket on the front, I have an Evernote sticker and a Starbucks hangtag from where I bought a gift card.  I thought they looked pretty good in there! Two obsessions together.  Evernote and Starbucks. :p   I have been using an undated daily planner insert in there and it's making me want to use it for my bujo for 2020.  I ordered the Midori weekly planner for it.  I might use it and then have two other notebooks in there for trackers and such.  I also might just use it for a on the go planner.  I haven't decided.  I have done a sample layout on a page from one of the blank TN inserts and it looks pretty cool.  I have a lot ot decide on!  For now, enjoy this my decorations.  The little thing in the middle is from the cool travel washi I got recently.

Starbucks denied!

I had to run to Dollar Tree to pick up a few things I needed and decided while I was out, I would get some Starbucks and bring it home with me.  I hadn't written for NaNo yet today and I thought it would be good writing fuel.  I go over, get in line, and am the only one.  Yay!  I ask if they still have cascara because they are about to be out of it.  They DO have it. Yippee!  I order my usual.  A cascara latte.  Then, the dreaded words come.  We can't make hot drinks, the machine is not working correctly. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It can be made over ice! The helpful barista suggests to me. I do not like iced coffee so I had to turn her down. lol . I was nice about it and she was nice, so it was all good, but I didn't get my latte. :(   Oh well!  I came home after that.  I opened up Scrivener to start my NaNo but so far I only wrote 67 words. LOL!  I might write some more in a little bit.  I'm a good deal ahead, so I very small word count day is not going to hurt much.

I went to Goodwill this afternoon and found two pair of jeans that I liked.  They both fit and I had to figure out which pair I wanted.  I got one and told my friend that takes me out to eat about them.  I had mentioned before that I desperately needed some pants for winter but I hadn't had a chance to go look for any.  He offered to buy me the other pair. Yay!  He came and got me and we went over there and I was able to go right to the pair I'd tried and grabbed them.  I also found a cute little stuff RCA dog Nipper.  :)

Oh, earlier when I went, I saw a nice padded laptop sleeve for $2 so I bought it. When I got home, I realized that it was brand new. Score!  It's bigger than my MBP but it will still work for it.  I can also use it for some of my Linux laptops if I want to carry them anywhere.  I found a little set of cute stationery for .59 while in there too.

On my second trip to Goodwill with my friend, I only got the second pair of jeans and the little Nipper plush.  Afterward, we went to a local place we'd heard about but never tried.  We tried it and it was great!  The cheeseburger and fries were cooked to order and they were both delicious!  A definite spot to add to our list of places to eat. :)

Beautiful day!

So, I was doing my regular stuff today.  My friend texted me and said it was really nice outside and I should go out and enjoy it.  I had checked the weather on my phone when I woke up and it said it was 41˚.  I looked again and this time the better weather app and it was in the mid-sixties.  I needed to go vote, so I got dressed and headed out.  I did that and then went to pick up a few things I forgot to get yesterday and headed home.  It was so nice out there, that I carried my laptop and a blanket to the yard and did today's NaNoWriMo writing out there! It was a nice change and it was just lovely out there.

I got 1873 words done.  I'm a little under 800 words from 10,000!  I will hit and pass 10,000 tomorrow.  Whoo hoo! I usually buy myself a pizza for hitting 10,000 words, but I'm a bit more broke than usual this month.  I might have to treat myself to something cheaper.  I might go to the grocery store and get a cupcake. :P  My local store has these individual cupcakes that are about twice the size of a regular cupcake and they sell them like that.  That is something I love and it would be a good substitute.  I have frozen pizza, so I can still have pizza if I want it.  I might do that.  I'll update tomorrow and say what my 10,000 word treat was!

Oh, by the way, I found this cute little flag clips at Dollar General for $1.  They are cute, functional, and cheap!
