Instant Pot Feed

Boring!

I wasn't going to post today at all, but I don't want to get into that habit. I don't have much to report either. I got my day's writing for Camp done. I also set up August in my digital planner. That's all ready to go. Other than that, I just relaxed. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night so I'm tired. We had some storms go through today. A lot of rain and some pretty good thunder, too. I made lunch in the Instant Pot. Barbeque chicken breasts. Delicious! Unfortunately for me, I'm now out of sauces. Boo, that means a grocery trip unless I can find my sauces on Amazon... ooh.... see you tomorrow! LOL!

D'oh!

I totally forgot to post yesterday. I don't know what happened with that. I did my grocery shopping yesterday and that was a pain so maybe that was it! lol. I really needed to go, so I'm glad I did. I bought some chicken to make in the Instant Pot. I thought it was. nice size package with a bunch of chicken breasts in it. It was packaged with three HUGE chicken breasts. I mean HUGE. LOL. They were so big, that I used two in the IP with some bbq sauce and froze the other one.   I will fix it later. I SHOULD have cut it into small portions but I didn't think about it at the time. Oops.

I washed my dishes today and that was another thing I needed to do! I have to mow the front again either tomorrow or Sunday.  I don't want to do that either, but it has to be done.  I am glad I remembered to blog today! My favorite digital planner shop on Etsy, DPCDigitals released the CUTEST sticker sets today. I bought them and I love them. I decorated today's daily page with some of them. Her stuff is literally SO CUTE and she has a ton of freebies on her website too! Check that out if you are new to digital planning and want to try it out. DPCDigitals.com

Yum!

I tried the spaghetti today that I fixed yesterday. It's delicious!  I will definitely do it like this again. It was so easy and it was all done in one pot! I love my Instant Pot!  I don't know how my friend liked his portion yet. He was supposed to eat when he got home from work this afternoon and got involved in working on something.  I'm still waiting to hear what he thought. As for me, I like it. I had my portion for lunch and dinner. I gave him a lot more than I saved out for myself, so I really hope he likes it!

I finally got my butt out of the house today to do my recycling. I've been meaning to do it for weeks.  I did that and then ran Goontz to the car wash. I really need a car cover. The pollen and bird dropping are getting out of hand! :p  In other news did write for Camp today. I'm doing well to write every day and I'm consistent with my word count. The only thing is, I'm not sure I'm going to finish the book by the end of April. I WILL have 50,000 words, but I will not be at the end of my work. I think I might just get to my 50,000 words and continue until April 30. Then, I'll pick the story back up in July for the second Camp. Then, I have to find something totally new for November. We'll see how it goes.

Busy day!

Yes, Sunday is my busy day. I did my usual. I washed my hair and bed linen. I put away the clothes from yesterday, and ran out long enough to ail something that needed to go out in tomorrow's mail.  I also made some spaghetti in my Instant Pot!  It was my first actual recipe. I've only put meat in there with sauce up to this point, so I wanted to try something different. I did it mainly for my friend. He likes spaghetti. Since he got me the Instant Pot, I wanted to make something he'd like. He came later this evening and took a container home. I guess I'll find out tomorrow if he likes it or not! lol I didn't eat any of my portion yet. I didn't take a taste bite and it seemed to be pretty tasty. I'll have a nice portion of it tomorrow for one of my meals. Here it si in the Instant Pot. I'm not sure why it looks like there are yellow spots, there are no yellow spots!

Thrifting today

My friend and I went on our thrifting trip today. I didn't find a lot of things, but a few little ones. My friend found a great item and he bought it for me! What was it? A BRAND NEW still in the box, all items there, Instant Pot! :D This is the six-quart one so it's twice as big as mine. It's so nice. It has everything as it was literally brand new in the box. Even came with a little recipe book! :p  The best goodie of mine was a Starbucks tumbler from 2004. Here are my two favorite things found:

Very happy to find that Instant Pot. Now I can make bigger-sized recipes. ^____^ By the way, how much was it? $30! Score!

Yesterday's thrift!

So, we went on our regular route yesterday.  I didn't find any big finds, but several little ones.  Nothing spectacular. My favorite thing was a little binder/book that is a ticket stub collector. You put the stub in the little sleeve and there is a place to write beside it. I thought that was pretty neat.  I found that at the Walkertown Goodwill.  All my items were little things.  A bundle of items (a zipper pouch, two little plastic divider cases, and some safety scissors.) One of the cases had two rolls of washi! lol  I got a little metal desk organizer, some makers new in the box, a ziplock bag with some whiteboard markers, and some push pins. I got a few other random things like that. Not a huge haul, but a lot of little things. All in all, not a bag haul, just a small one.

Today, I'm staying in and relaxing. It was warmer the last two days, but it's cooler again today and will be for a bit. It was nice to have the warmer weather while it lasted!  I have written and have more to write before I'm done today. I fixed lunch in the Instant Pot! I used the rest of the chicken that I had and put it in with some barbeque sauce and a little water since the sauce was really thick.  Put it on for eight minutes and had some delicious barbeque chicken breasts for lunch. Delicious! I can't wait to try more advanced recipes in it. :)

Whee and D'oh!

My Instant Pot inner pot came today. I was very happy to get it. I washed it and had it ready to go. I went to the grocery store to pick up some fresh chicken to cook in it. Well, I didn't know how to set the time, so I set it for 3 hours instead of the 3 minutes the recipe called for. LOL! Luckily, I caught on and was able to fix that.  It didn't hurt it at all cooking longer so that was good.  The bottled sauce I used was really thick and it said to not use thick sauces in there without watering them down some. I did, but I watered it down a bit too much.  With all of this, and me wondering if I had a defective one. (I didn't realize how long it took to get to pressure!) It came actually came out pretty well!  The chicken was tender and delicious.  I will try this again with less water in the sauce and I think it will be better. I went lazy for the rice and just fixed a streamer bag of Basmati in the microwave. All in all, a good first attempt.  I can learn from my mistakes. I have more of the chicken I bought today and I'm going to try it tomorrow with another type of sauce and see how that goes.  So, here is my Teriyaki chicken and rice:

Not bad for a first attempt. I now have the basics down so I will be good to go next time. :)

Yay!

My friend and I decided to head back to Reidsville hoping we'd be able to find the pot for my Instant Pot. No luck on that, but I did find the little condensation catcher behind some things on a shelf! :D The same guy that checked us out last night was there and we told him about the missing items and that we'd found this one. He let me keep it since it went with the pot. I was very happy to find it. The replacement inner pot I bought comes tomorrow and I can't wait to try it out. :) The only thing I won't have that came with it originally is the rack for steaming and I'm very unlikely to use the steamer anyway. Maybe someday I'll find one second-hand. For now, I'm happy. I did find some cute Valentine's day cards in a little pack. I am going to send those to my penpals when I write letters soon. That will be fun to add. I hope they like them. I do, they are cute!

I added an Instant Pot section to my digital cookbook last night. I think I mentioned this last night, too.  Oh well! I did put on a recipe in there last night. One for cooking a batch of brown rice. I'm going to look up something fun and simple to try tomorrow. I don't have any brown rice in the house now, so I can't try that one. :p I do have some frozen chicken and some sauces, I might try something like that. I wish that replacement pot would come. I want to try it. Ahhh!

Tuesday Thrift

My friend and I did a small thrift today.  We went to Reidsville to Salvation Army and Goodwill. I found a cute SakRoots bag and a small tube of washi at Salvation Army.  At Goodwill, I found a little immersion heater. You can warm up your coffee with it. I will probably never use it, but it was only a dollar. I did see something in there I've wanted for a long time. An Instant Pot. They had one that looked practically brand new. They wanted $15 for it. I was going to pass even though I really wanted it.(Low on funds) My friend got it for me. Yay! I didn't realize until I got home that it's missing two things. Well, three, I knew that it had no power cord, but I had a spare, so that wasn't an issue.   It's missing the little pot you put in to cook in and the little thing that snaps on the back to collect the condensation. That, I'm sure isn't a big deal, but the missing pot is! I was able to get on on Amazon cheap since I had a gift card. It's coming on Thursday. I can't wait to try it out! I plugged it in and it comes on so I'm positive it will work. The protective plastic is still on the front display, too. I'm so happy to finally have an Instant Pot! It's the small one, a 3 quart one. Since I live alone, this will not be an issue! I am already searching for recipes and I added an 'Instant Pot' section to my digital recipe book. Now I just need to fill it. :) This little guy retails for about $70 so even with me having to get the pot, I got a great deal. I will add a category to the blog named Instant Pot and use it when  I mention it or things I make in it. I can't wait to get started. :)
