Jack O Lanterns Feed

Late on that too?

I am late on a lot of things and one of those and putting out my Halloween decorations. I usually put them out on the first day of September!  I got the boxes out yesterday, but I didn't actually unbox and put everything out until today.  It took a while as I've gotten even more stuff than last year. Oops. LOL, It's all out now. I have to plug in the pumpkins that look out at the street. I will probably drive out and around the block to make sure they look okay after I do that. I always like to see how they look from the street. Sometimes I don't get them where they can be seen as well as they should.  I know they aren't high enough at the moment, they need a box to sit on and I have a black drape I use, but I have no idea where the drape is... AH! lol

Different thrift

So, my friend texted me today and asked if I wanted to go to South Boston instead of our usual Reidsville trip. I was up for a change so I said yes. We drove up and went to the Goodwill there. He also went to a few pawn shops and then we went to a local Italian place that we both like. I got a small pepperoni pizza and he got spaghetti and we both enjoyed it. My pizza was the best I've had in a while, too! So tasty. That was a nice change. At Goodwill, I found a Myrtle Beach coffee mug with a picture of the beach on it, it's pretty cool. I also found a jack o lantern ceramic tealight holder and a Silhouette Mint for $3! Score! I just need to get ink and the 'papers' for it to make the stamps, but I was able to find those online. Nice find. I was able to get the software online for it easily and it works on my current version of Mac OS so I'm happy. I was able to get a few cute free designs from them and I'll research more later. I have to get the stuff to work with first. I'll do that soon. It was a small thrift, but I a pretty good one. Plus, the food was great! I am getting out the Shortwave radio after this and scanning for a bit. I meant to do it earlier but I'm just now getting caught up on everything else. I made myself a good logging sheet that I can use when I'm listening to keep track of what I'm listening to. I will then save these and I can bind them in a booklet later on.

A list

Ha ha, love the title. :P  So, here is a complete (I think) list of the goodies:

The ten Starbucks items:

One black Starbucks mug

One large holiday Starbucks mug

Two ceramic tumblers (SC and Reserve)

A green tumbler with a handle

a holiday tumbler (I found this exact same one recently and there may be a picture of it on my blog further down)

A 'make your own' tumbler (this one you unscrew and put in a picture or whatever you want)

A stainless smaller tumbler with a cork bottom (no lid)

Really big stainless tumbler (this one has seen better days)

24oz cold cup (no lid)

Everything else: MacBook, Sherpani crossbody bag, Hello Pumpkin mug, Corgi mug, Fossil wallet, ceramic jack o lantern, metal jack o lantern, roll stickers, 'tul' disc notebook cover, rainbow pencil case for a binder, and a Narwhal plush.  What a haul, yes? Whew, glad I finally typed it all out. lol

I didn't mention it yesterday because I was so out of it, but we did go to one Goodwill yesterday.  I got two t-shirts (in the $1 bin), a small Nike backpack (in case I ever start walking again), a mini Myrtle Beach bag, some Sugar Daddys, and a mini Sak Roots bag.  We went to eat and decided to run by a nearby Goodwill that we don't get to very often.

I am not sure if we'll do our regular thrift run tomorrow. To be honest, I'd be just as glad to stay home and skip it! Ad for today, I had to run out and mail something and I also mowed the front lawn.  It took longer to get the stupid mower started than it did to mow. That made mowing more frustrating, Yay! ~_~  I'm going to try to relax the rest of the evening and then see how tomorrow goes. I've written a good bit in my current story, and I may write a bit more. I'm not sure yet.I am very happy that it's back on track and I'm also happy the front lawn is mown! :p

Still tired

I am extremely tired as I didn't sleep well at all last night. I also had to get my air conditioner in my window today as it's starting to get hot enough for it.  I was already tired and now I'm tired and sore.  I did take some pictures of the haul to share. I hope to do a complete list soon. Here is a little sample of some of my goodies:

You can click on any image to see it larger.  These are a few of my finds. I hope to post a list tomorrow.

Thrifting a bit

We went on our full thrifting trip today. I didn't find very many finds at all. It was sort of a thrifting fail for me. My friend found quite a few things he liked. I did find a few things but nothing spectacular. I found a little jack o lantern aluminum mini pan for baking. That is I found it at one store and it was the third store we'd been in and it was my first find! LOL! At the last Goodwill, I found a Golla pouch. I have one exactly like it in blue, this one is pink. I also found a little set of crafting things (It had some glitter glue, some regular glue, mini pom-poms, and some glitter things. I also found a mask.  That was the extent of my thrifting finds today. Exciting, no? :P  Here is the little pan and the pouch. You can see how small the little pan is:

Not the biggest haul, but I did get a few cute things. :)

Tuesday seems to be a thrift day......

So I was sitting at home on the laptop and my friend texted and asked if we were going to Reidsville today. I said sure if he wanted.  I got dressed and then went over to his house. He pulled up right after I did, so that was great timing.  We got on the road after he went in for a few and went to the Salvation Army store first.  I found a few things in there.  I found a removable purse organizer (can also be used for bullet journal organization), a clear zipper pouch for a binder, a puzzle,  a little Post-it note dispenser, and I think that was it.  My friend found a nice car phone holder and bought it for me.  We left there and went to Pete's to eat.  After Pete's, we went to the Goodwill. Wait, he ran by a music store first, and then we went to Goodwill.  At Goodwill, I found a Fossil bag, It's one of the Key.Per bags.  It still had its key and little 'charm' thingee, too! I also found a little wooden 'basket' with jack o lanterns on both ends, I got a mini lunchbox with snowmen on it, and a nice Kitchen Aid kettle. I've been meaning to buy a kettle and I saw this one and it's in great shape and the inside is very clean.  We left there and went back to Pete's and got ice cream before heading back to Danville.  We went to the two Goodwill stores here.  We went to the regular one and I only found one thing. It was a cute ceramic Jack o lantern.  We went to the other one.  Now, for this store, we went once several years ago and they were rude and really pissed me off and I haven't been back since. I decided to give them one more chance and we went tonight.  Luckily it was different people working and much nicer ones, too!  I got TWO Fossil bags!  I also found a CD, a little package of Jack O lantern bags/envelopes, and a little thing of notes that are shaped like A's, and the little container that holds them has A's on it too.  Very cute  It was a good thrift trip! I wasn't really expecting it. I thought he would want to skip it but he didn't.  I am glad he didn't. Three 'new' Fossil bags! :)  It seems like I am forgetting something but I can't remember what it is! I did write today. I actually got in a little over 2000 words! I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to do CampNaNoWriMo this year and if I do, what I'm going to do for it.  I don't have a lot of time left to figure it out!

I just remembered the other thing I got tonight. The GW I gave another chance to had clothes hangers 10 for $1 so I got one pack. I seem to always be out of hangers! So, that is it, the accounting of my day.  I am home and I'm going to get off this laptop as soon as I post this. I am going to relax a bit before bed and re-read what I wrote today.  I have two packages that I hope are coming tomorrow. One package has two DS games that I found on eBay and the other package is a set of styluses for it. The first order never came and the seller refunded me so I ordered another set on Amazon.  I know Ill get those!  The next thing I want to get for it is a replacement bottom screen and then a clear case for the outside but those can both wait.

I'm not dead!

Yes, I know it's been several days since I posted here.  Sorry about that.  I didn't mean to go so many days without posting.  I actually was going to post last night and then it was after midnight. Oops! Anyway, I'm posting now, so I guess that is okay.

I changed the font of the blog today.  I made it the same font throughout. I like it.  I might change it to some other font in a day or two, but it's good for now.  I love fonts and it's fun to try out all different ones.  This is a Google font and it's called Quicksand.  I tried out about 15 different fonts before picking this one.

I ran out to the park today just to get out for a bit.  I sat near my friend Piney the pine tree.  I noticed this little tree that is near him.  It's a cute little tree and I took this picture:

PXL_20200926_180519691.MP

It's going to be showing off it's colors soon.  I love fall!  I'll try to remember to take a picture when it's changing later on.

At home, I decided to finally put my Halloween decorations out.  It took an hour to get them out and put them out.  Here is a picture of the majority of them.  Those boxes in this picture? All stuffed with stuff. It is a LOT of stuff and this doesn't even include all the stuff I have out all year.  This picture does not do justice to the amount of stuff I have. lol

Point Blur_Sep262020_184610

The ceramic / glass /wax / wooden /plastic Jack o lantens are in the boxes.  I have some in each type I mentioned.  By the way that white smushed looking thing is a ghost! lol He hangs and will make noise when he has batteries.  He goes, "WooooOOOooo!" :P

Oops I did it again!

Well, I DID plan to post last night.  I just ran out of time. Why?  Well, my crazy bed did it's thing again and the boxspring fell through the frame.  I pulled the bed out, took everything out from under it, cleaned all around it, and then got down to business.  I tightened everything and anything I could to make sure it didn't do it again. I hope I was successful this time, but I hope that every time!  Hopefully, if I didn't get it perfect, it will last a while.

After I got it back together, I put the clean linens back on.  By that point, I was sore, injured, and dripping sweat.  I had to cool off before I died.  It took a while, but I finally got cooled down and was able to relax for a bit.  It was midnight before I finished getting everything back together so it was too late to post to my blog. I figured I would just wait until today.

I ran out for a quick errand earlier today before the rain came.  I took a picture of my little TN in the car.  It's a better representation of the actual color.  It's so pretty.  I want another one just like it! LOL. Here it is resting on my steering wheel:

MVIMG_20200831_140917

It's so pretty! I'm thinking of using it not only for Munzee but for journaling on the go.  I have the Munzee notebook in there and I had another notebook in there.  I can use it for journaling or notes.  I also stuck a little stack of Post-it notes in for quick notes.  It's so nifty.  I could also but the insert to make it into a wallet if I wanted.

I took a picture of a couple of my latest Jack o' lantern finds at Goodwill.  I mentioned each of these as I got them, but I don't think I ever showed a picture of them.  Here they are together.  Such cuties!

MVIMG_20200830_164043

I love jack o' lanterns, but I particularly love ceramic ones.  They are fun to display with or without a tealight in them.  I might take pictures of my entire collection at one point and share them.  I will be decorating for Halloween very, very soon. I have boxes and boxes and boxes of Halloween stuff and the majority of it is .... yes, jack o' lanterns!

Surprise thrifting!

My friend and I went out of town to a new place to try today.  It was in Eden, NC so not too far away.  We ate there and then went to the Goodwill in Eden. I found a few cool things and bought them.  We then came back to Danville and decided to go to the Goodwill here too.  I found this neat guy:

Photostudio_1597365786543

He is actually a wax melt warmer that is missing his lid, but I didn't know that.  I just thought he was cute so I bought him! :). The mugs on either side were two of the items I found at Goodwill in Eden.  A coffee mug with coffee all over it and a mug that has a 1986 calendar. Very cool!

I received an item in the mail today that i ordered recently on eBay.  It's a Loot Crate exclusive Ice King statue with Goontz and several other penguins.  It's so cute! Here that is:

20200813_211244

I want to get another one so I can keep one in the box and display one!  I'll probably do that because it's just too cute not to display. I found it when looking up Gunter stuff on eBay.  I love Ice King and I don't have any merchandise with him featured. I have a shirt he is on, but the other characters are there too. I've been wanting something Ice King so this gave me Simon and Goontz! :)

Hoo boy am I tired!

I was up until around 3 am finishing my latest read (Zombie fiction). It was so good! I just found the second book in the series and loaded it to my Kindle to start tonight.  The first book was great, I'm hoping book two will be just as good.

So, I got up at my regular time today and texted my friend.  He was in the middle of something but said he'd be on in a bit.  He got here around noon and we headed out.  We went first to Reidsville, NC to the Salvation Army store, the Goodwill store, and two pawn shops.  He went in those, I just thrifted.  In the SA store, I got a S'well bottle for .49¢!  Those things are expensive new!  I also found a Fossil purse!  It's the brown one you'll see in the pictures below.

We went to the Goodwill in Reidsville and I found a Starbucks mug, which I love, and a little table/container.  It was new in box.  The price new was $20 and I paid $8! I have a picture of it below too.  I put it together when I got home.  It will be a nice little storage unit.

After leaving Reidsville, we went to Eden NC.  At the Goodwill there, I only got a little wicker Snowman basket.  He was cute and only .49¢.  We found a Salvation Army store that we'd never been to before and I got a ceramic jack o' lantern, a puzzle, and some watercolors.  The puzzle is the one with the fall trees.

We ate while Eden at a little drive up place we love.  They have delicious cheeseburgers!  We left Eden and headed to Martinsville, VA.  We went to the Salvation Army store there that we found last trip.  I found another Fossil bag.  Last time I got a Fossil bag there I spent $1.50.  This one was $10!  It was red leather and I loved it. I kept debating on and finally just bought it.  $10 is not expensive and I actually love this bag. I'll carry it.

We went to two more Goodwills.  One is on the other side of Martinsville but not too far away and one is in Martinsville.  At one, I got a cute Jack o' lantern container and a pair of Ked like shoes.  The grand total? $3.50. Whoo hoo!  At the last Goodwill we went to, I found a cool tote bag that I loved, an Ipsy zipper pouch, and a cute Cake pop puzzle.

All in all it was a good day! I got two 'new' Fossil bags, that little bin thingee, some puzzles, jack o' lantern goodies and more.  And now for the pictures!

Half price Halloween! :D

I needed a few things today from Dollar General.  I went and they were out of the main thing I went for so I walked next door to the Roses.  They had two of the things I needed, but no leftover Halloween candy. Boo! Dollar General had some, but it was only 25% off and they were low on selections.

After I got the things I needed at Roses, I stopped at CVS.  I remembered that last year I got a lot of great candy after Halloween.  They didn't have as good of a selection as last year, but I did get three bags of goodies.  I also got a bunch of Halloween goodies!  I took a picture of all my goodies. I got two cute trays, a pumpkin bucket, a light-up pumpkin spinner, a projection flashlight, a stamper set, cups, cupcake wrappers, and a gift bag that I forgot to put in the picture.  Oh, I also got a jack o lantern lotion/soap dispenser. :p . I love all my Halloween goodies.  The round tray is so adorable that I might go back and get another one.  I might pick up another of the lotion/soap thingees too.  They were only .50 each!

I got my NaNoWriMo session in this afternoon and did pretty well.  I left off at a good place to pick up tomorrow. I'm trying to do that so that when I start my writing each day, I'm ready to go in and I have the idea of what I want to write already worked out.  So far it's working well. I'm over the 7000 word mark now. Yay!

If you look into the pumpkin bucket, you'll see it's filled with my half-price candy! :p

Friday frenzy!

Yeah, not really. :P  It's been a pretty calm day.  I had to go pick up my prescriptions, so I did that this afternoon. My car did so well! I was so happy with it.  I had to run out again a little bit ago and it didn't do as well. :(  It turned off on me and didn't want to go like it should.  I was able to get where I was going though, so that was good.  I got the things I needed and picked out this year's pumpkin! He is a cutie and they had pumpkins for $1.99 so he was a good price too!  I, of course, took a picture to share.

I started on another puzzle today and it's pretty.  It's colorful, but there are distinctive sections, so it's easy to find pieces for each section.  I am going to do the rest tomorrow, but I got a good deal done today.  I have a migraine that is mainly in the sick on my stomach stages, but when I went out this last time, there was someone in line behind me that had enough cologne on to kill a cow.  They stuck and it made my headache come raging back.  Then I drove home and got two different people behind me with ultra bright headlights. I'm glad to be home and in my room!

Fall?

Well, yesterday it was in the 90's here and today when I looked at my weather app it was 56˚!  No, seriously! It was cool enough today that I was able to turn the air off.  I am not taking it out of the window just yet, because it could get hot again.  Who knows with this crazy weather!

I went out this afternoon and went to a local store that makes their own chicken salad.  The stuff is amazing.  I got a container of that, a little smidge of country ham, and an orange. They have a little bit of everything in there. It's a small, local business that has been there for a long time.  I love the chicken salad and I hadn't gotten any in awhile.  It was delicious!

I didn't do much today.  I watched a ton of episodes of Web Of Lies (It's a show on Investigation Discovery that I love) I worked the puzzle too.  I didn't finish it even though it's only 300 pieces and they are big pieces.  I decided to finish tomorrow because the puzzle is really busy.  Lots of colors.  You'll see when I post a picture with this post.

I put my outside Halloween decorations out today.  With the cooler weather, it felt more like October and fall.  I put out a little flag, a ghost on a pole, and my two scarecrows.  I also lit up the electric pumpkins that I keep in the window in my living room.  My house has an old picture window and they look so cute in there!  I still want to get a real pumpkin before Halloween.  I usually get one every year and keep it in my room until it starts to go bad.  They usually last well into Spring, but last year's didn't.  I hope this years lasts longer!

Cooler weather ....

Well, for a bit anyway. I know it will be back up to 90 in a day or two. lol . I took advantage of the cooler weather today and finally put up my Halloween stuff.  It usually goes up on September 1st, but that was the day I went to the beach and came home from the beach. lol

It's been way too hot here.  It felt like July last week!  It was a bit cooler today, so I figured I'd get my Halloween stuff out.  I realized when I was done that I was missing one thing.  That lead me to remember another two things and then one more.  That means there is a box o' Halloween still missing. I have no clue where to look for it as I always keep all the boxes together and it's not with the others. :(

Aha! I just found two of the four items.  That means only two things are unaccounted for and I'm sure I'll find those. I sort of remember that I didn't pack them up with the rest of the stuff last year and did something else with them. I just have to remember what it was I did with them. LOL

The main thing I missed first was broken last year and I put in a box to keep it safe. I don't know why I didn't fix it then, but I've glued it together now and I have it sitting until the glue sets. Hopefully that will fix it. :) It has a matching friend and I didn't want to separate them.

I didn't start a puzzle today.  I planned to.  I got out the board, the puzzle, and had it ready to go, but I never got around to it.  Maybe tomorrow.  I might just wait until I get back.  Then I'll have more than enough puzzles. :p

When your errands lead to Starbucks

So, I had to go to two places. One was Office Max to get some pens.  They have their brand ball point pens on a door buster price of .99 according to the website.  I love these pens. It's a 12 pack and it's usually over $2 a pack.  I had to pick up a few packs at this price.  I went and they were marked $1.49 but there was also a sign that said .99!  I took it to the register and showed the clerk and he rang them up for the price online.  The best thing?  They actually rang up with a discount off of that so I got them for .79 a box!  Yay! I bought four boxes.  That should keep me for a while.  They are the best writing pens.  The ink flows so smoothly.  I love them!  Here is the LINK if you want to check them out. They are the best pens ever.  Seriously!

So, that is all I got at Office Max.  I then went to Dollar Tree to see if they had any puzzles.  The last time I was in this particular Dollar Tree, they had a bunch . This time they had a lot less.  I was able to find three though!  I got those and a cute jack o' lantern hanging decoration and a big zipper pouch that is adorable.  It has coffee and donuts on it. So cute!  Here they are:

20190827_212727
20190827_212727

Cute, yes?  You'll see the puzzles as I do them.  I didn't start one today since I went out so late.  The Dollar Tree I went to and the Office Max are right at the Starbucks.  I figured a frappuccino would be a nice end to an errand trip!  It was!  I got that and headed home.  My car acted up a little, but not too badly. It also started up both times that I turned it off, so that was great!
