Friday thrift makes me tired!

My friend and I went on the Greensboro thrift trip today because he was off for the holiday. We ate a place we found on a previous trip. They were sooooooooo slooooooow. We finally got our food, ate, and then got to thrift. We went to all the Goodwill stores over there. I got a good amount of things. I found seasons 2-6 of LOST. I have the first season and I think a few more, but I couldn't remember when I was in there. They were $4 each, so I just got them. I also found some Starbucks tumblers (older ones) and a few nice reusable cold cups. One with the original price tag on it AND it still has the Starbucks branded straw. Nice! I also got some odds and ends, a few books, a little pouch just for the cute Eiffel Tower charm on it, and a cool vintage board game called Aggravation It has marbles! I love old board games and especially ones that I don't have or have never seen before! I got a cool Monopoly-themed mug in one Goodwill. I collect Monopoly sets and I also collect Monopoly-themed merchandise when I find it. It was a decent trip, but I spent too much! LOL

Oh and YES I did write today! I wrote the majority of my word count while I was waiting for him to get ready this morning and wrote the rest when I got home to get my word count to where I wanted it for the day. I've been doing a bit over 2000 words each day for NaNo and I wanted to keep the momentum going. I'm glad I wrote before because I'm so tired after the trip, my writing would have been pretty bleah tonight. I'm posting this and then I'm going to relax and listen to the shortwave!

Here are all my finds:

Stuff

Oops!

I totally meant to post yesterday.  I had a pretty nasty headache so it slipped my mind until it was too late.  I didn't do much yesterday because of the headache so I didn't have a lot to share in any case.  Today, I worked on one of the larger puzzles in the 12 pack.  It's was a 300 piece one. The biggest pieces were much easy to work with.  The puzzles in this box are all in separate bags with no info on them so I had to pull them all out to figure out which puzzle was which.  I put a note on each of them so I wouldn't have to go through that again! :p Here is the one I did:

I liked all the colors. Most of the puzzles in this set are very colorful, too.

A pumpkin and a puzzle

I went to the grocery store yesterday and wanted to get a pumpkin with my groceries, but they were out. Today, I had to run out for something else so I went to another location of the same grocery store.  I got my pumpkin. :)  I also worked another one of those crazy little puzzles. Only one more and then I can get to the bigger ones with good-sized pieces!

Busy Sunday

Phew, I'm glad the day is almost over. I got a lot done though. I just need to put my bed linen back on the bed. I mowed the front lawn. I was so hoping I wouldn't have to do it again this season, but I did. If it gets cool enough soon, I will be done. Please let it get cool! lol  I did another of the little puzzles today. Hoo boy was that one was nuts. All those colors and such tiny pieces. Look at this crazy thing:

It was fun, though.  It was nice to get another puzzle done. I also got a bunch written. :)

Small thrift and a puzzle

My friend asked if I wanted to go to a restaurant out of town that we like and I agreed, so we did. We also were able to go to the Goodwill that is along the way there.  I got a few things. My favorite? A wood wick candle! :)  I have always wanted to try one.  It's brand new, too.  I worked on another puzzle.  This one is a shaped one. It was interesting to do!  Sheesh! :P  This one had bigger pieces (yay) and it had more pieces, too.  This was a 200 piece one.  It was pretty fun but a bit weird with the shape of it.

Puzzle? Yes!

I actually worked on a jigsaw puzzle today. First one in over a year. I got a box of 12 puzzles some time ago. I thought, I'll work one of the small ones to get myself back in the habit. It was fun. The pieces were so small though.  It's only a 150 piece puzzle, but I worked it. I like the colors of it. I hope to continue on and start back working on puzzles again. I have so many that need to be put together.  Some are vintage and still sealed, too! :)

Sunday silliness.....

There isn't really any silliness, it just made a good title for this blog post! :p  I did my usual Sunday things.  I washed my hair and my bed linen, I put my laundry away that I washed yesterday, and I wrote. I was supposed to wash dishes but somehow that didn't happen. Oops. Oh well, there is always tomorrow! I have been smiling all day every time I look around my room. It looks so much better. I even did a bit more today. I got my stack of puzzles straightened up.   I just need to start doing puzzles again.  It's hard to believe that I haven't done one since March of 2020!  I have a huge pile just waiting for me.  I even got a pack of five on a recent thrift trip.  These are small ones (200 pieces each) so they won't take much time. I also have quite a few vintage ones. Some are even sealed. I need to get back into working on my puzzles. I miss it. It's very relaxing.  Well, except when I'm missing a piece! LOL!

I have my linens back on the bed so I'm pretty much done for today!  I got my word count uploaded at CampNaNoWriMo. I bypassed 40,000 words today! Yay! I will definitely be going over 50,000 for the month.  I am enjoying this story so much.  It's gotten extremely long, too.  Let me see the current word count. It's 252,634.  Wowee!

Tuesday seems to be a thrift day......

So I was sitting at home on the laptop and my friend texted and asked if we were going to Reidsville today. I said sure if he wanted.  I got dressed and then went over to his house. He pulled up right after I did, so that was great timing.  We got on the road after he went in for a few and went to the Salvation Army store first.  I found a few things in there.  I found a removable purse organizer (can also be used for bullet journal organization), a clear zipper pouch for a binder, a puzzle,  a little Post-it note dispenser, and I think that was it.  My friend found a nice car phone holder and bought it for me.  We left there and went to Pete's to eat.  After Pete's, we went to the Goodwill. Wait, he ran by a music store first, and then we went to Goodwill.  At Goodwill, I found a Fossil bag, It's one of the Key.Per bags.  It still had its key and little 'charm' thingee, too! I also found a little wooden 'basket' with jack o lanterns on both ends, I got a mini lunchbox with snowmen on it, and a nice Kitchen Aid kettle. I've been meaning to buy a kettle and I saw this one and it's in great shape and the inside is very clean.  We left there and went back to Pete's and got ice cream before heading back to Danville.  We went to the two Goodwill stores here.  We went to the regular one and I only found one thing. It was a cute ceramic Jack o lantern.  We went to the other one.  Now, for this store, we went once several years ago and they were rude and really pissed me off and I haven't been back since. I decided to give them one more chance and we went tonight.  Luckily it was different people working and much nicer ones, too!  I got TWO Fossil bags!  I also found a CD, a little package of Jack O lantern bags/envelopes, and a little thing of notes that are shaped like A's, and the little container that holds them has A's on it too.  Very cute  It was a good thrift trip! I wasn't really expecting it. I thought he would want to skip it but he didn't.  I am glad he didn't. Three 'new' Fossil bags! :)  It seems like I am forgetting something but I can't remember what it is! I did write today. I actually got in a little over 2000 words! I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to do CampNaNoWriMo this year and if I do, what I'm going to do for it.  I don't have a lot of time left to figure it out!

I just remembered the other thing I got tonight. The GW I gave another chance to had clothes hangers 10 for $1 so I got one pack. I seem to always be out of hangers! So, that is it, the accounting of my day.  I am home and I'm going to get off this laptop as soon as I post this. I am going to relax a bit before bed and re-read what I wrote today.  I have two packages that I hope are coming tomorrow. One package has two DS games that I found on eBay and the other package is a set of styluses for it. The first order never came and the seller refunded me so I ordered another set on Amazon.  I know Ill get those!  The next thing I want to get for it is a replacement bottom screen and then a clear case for the outside but those can both wait.

I'm not dead.

I haven't felt well for the last two days.  I felt like I had a slight cold or something the last few days. I feel better from that today, but I have a migraine. D'oh!  So, I don't feel like I have a cold anymore, but I'm constantly sick on my stomach because of the migraine.  I didn't start a puzzle yesterday or today!  Why?  Well, one reason was me feeling so bleah.  The other is my puzzles are running out and I am not sure when I'll be able to re-stock.  I have some 1000 piece ones and some old 500 or so ones, but I am trying to make them last.  Hopefully, I can get to the Dollar store next week.

My friend brought me some delicious food on his way home from work.  He got me a cheesesteak, fries, and a coke.  Lots of the local restaurants are doing takeout specials since they are all closed for dine-in.  It was a delicious lunch and I enjoyed it very much.  It was nice to not have to worry about fixing anything!

I hope I'm feeling a bit better tomorrow. If so, I'll run out to the post office, but that is the extent of my plans for going out tomorrow. I need to check my box and after I do, I hope to write letters.  I have two waiting for me unless any more came that didn't show up on informed delivery.

I am participating in Camp NaNoWriMo! I declared my book/novella today. I am only going to put a 20,000 word count on this project, but I might go more.  I have a basic outline in my head and I've gotten pictures and information in Scrivener for tomorrow's start.

Another busy day

I got a lot done today, too! I put away a ton of dishes that I washed yesterday.  I also folded and put away the laundry I washed last night.  I have my bed linen in the dryer I'm just waiting to put it back on the bed.  It's going to be so nice.  I love clean bed linen!

I washed my hair today and it was nice enough for me to let it dry naturally.  That was a nice change!  No sitting under the hair bonnet for a while.  That will be nice.  It was also warm enough that I didn't need to heat up water to do it.  I'm going to fix some dinner soon and then I'm going to relax until I put the linens back on the bed. I'm feeling a bit blah so I am hoping to crash early tonight and sleep it off.

By the way, I finished the puzzle today.  Here it is:

Whoo boy!

So, let's get this day done please!  I had a hard time sleeping because it was too warm in my room.  I turned on my fan and that helped.  This afternoon, I was sitting in my room and I was hot.  I looked up the weather on Google and it was in the 80's.  Well no wonder I felt warm!  I decided it was time to put my air conditioner in the window for the season.  It will make sleeping so much easier tonight.

I was thinking about putting that in the window while I was working a puzzle.  My friend texted and wanted to walk around 5 pm.  I agreed, so I got my lunch and then got the air conditioner in the window and had a little time to relax before he came.  We went to our new regular part of the trail and walked.  The sky got a little overcast and that helped make the walk a little cooler.  After we walked, he wanted a milkshake so we went to get that.  I got a soda and then we rode around a bit.  He asked if it were too early for me to eat.  I said, Nope! LOL. It's never too early. :p

We were going to Sonic, but they have now taped up all the drive-up bays and you can only go through the drive-thru and it was backed up a lot.  He decided to go to the barbeque place we recently tried.  They have a drive-thru and we got food there.  Delicious!  He ate here and then headed home.  After he left, I took my bed apart and then tightened everything back up and put the bed back together.  DOH!!!!!!  I just realized I forgot to measure the frame while I had it apart. ~_~;;; AHHHHHH. Hopefully this time my tightening will last for a while.  We'll hope so anyway.

So, let's share a picture of the puzzle in progress and one picture from the trail. Enjoy and see you tomorrow!

Hello!

Oh boy! Guess what?  Well, today I realized my debit card wasn't in my purse.  Uh oh! I looked through every pocket and place that I never put anything into and still no card.  Oh dear.  So, I go look in my car and didn't see it.  I thought back and realized the last time I used it I was at the drive-thru at CVS.  I went back by there when I ran out for groceries and stopped.  They didn't have it.  I had an idea where it might be at home, so I went and got my groceries. I lucked out and was able to get almost everything I wanted! Only a couple of things I wanted were out of stock so I was lucky!

I came home and looked in the place I thought of, no card.  Then I said to myself, it HAS to be in my car, It's fallen under the seat or in between the seats.  I go out and look in the front and look, nothing.  I have a little drawer under the passenger seat, I pull it out and look in it, nothing,  Then I look through and see it on the floor in the back. YAY!!!!!!!  I got it and carried it in and felt a whole lot of relief.

So happy to get some groceries. Now if we have a stay in place order here, I'll be okay.  I have enough food to get me through.  I'm quite happy about that.  Well, in between all the debit card stuff, I am looking under my bed.  I was thinking it might have fallen off the bed and slipped under there.  Guess what?  Remember me taking it apart to fix it when it didn't need to be fixed the other night?  Well, it needed to be fixed today! LOL. I did that, cooled down, and then sat down to finish my puzzle. I finally finished that damn thing.  I'm glad it is done. :p

Sleep is great!

I went to bed early last night since I wasn't feeling great.  That helped a bit.  What helped, even more, is when I took a nap this afternoon! LOL I don't think I'm sick, I think I just have allergies. It's so much going on that I am paranoid.  I don't feel bad at all tonight.  It's not like I've been around a lot of people!  Before all the social isolation stuff, I was a total social isolator! :P

I worked on the puzzle today but I didn't finish. It's a little intense.  I didn't get a lot more done but it felt like a lot. I should finish it off tomorrow.  Here is the progress, it's going to be interesting to finish, that is for sure!

20200325_205553

It doesn't look like I got a lot done today, but I actually did. Really. :P I mowed the front lawn today. Ahhhhhhh! It's too early for that! While typing up this post, I was watching a YouTube video by Matthew Santoro.  He was showing weird foods people eat. BLEAH! LOL!  I love his videos, he is so funny and they are always fun to watch.  I loved it when he was talking about the deep-fried tarantulas and had to leave the room.   Off to watch one more of his vids and then I'm going to turn the television off and relax.  See you tomorrow!

Pizza and more pizza!

I got one of the puzzles out today to work. I decide on a puzzle with a pizza on it. I was working on it when my friend texted and said he'd bring by some pizza. LOL!  I now have almost a whole pizza for leftovers for a few days.  I only eight two pieces when I got it so I'd have lots for later.  I'm going to enjoy it, too!

I have been staying up way too late for the last several nights, so I'm going to try my best to get to bed early tonight.  I feel a bit off.  I feel like I might have a bit of a cold, but I also know it's probably just paranoia with everything going on right now.  I'm going to try to sleep it off. I have been using my hand sanitizer religiously and I've been very cautious on anywhere I've gone.  I know I'm just being paranoid, but a good long sleep sure won't hurt!

Monday again?

Yes, it's Monday.  I was up way too late last night.  Why?  Well, I went to put my bed linen back on the bed.  I was struggling with the fitted sheet. It likes to come undone all the time so I was working at getting it on their more securely when I fell on the bed and heard a thump.  I thought I'd knocked the box springs through again.  I pulled everything off and realized I hadn't. ~_~;;  My bed doesn't have a lot of space under it, so I have two little mini bricks under each leg.  That raises I up enough to use under the bed boxes and such.  One of those had fallen.  Ahhhhhh!  So, I took the bed apart for nothing!

This is how it went.  I started at 11:45 pm to put my bed linen back on the bed.  It was 12:30 am before I got everything back together and the bedlinen on. Sheesh!  Of course by that time I was tired, irked, and out of breath! It took a while to cool off and get myself back to normal.  I'm hoping tonight is an easy night for sleep!

I finished my puzzle today.  That bottom part was intense.  All the pieces looked a lot alike.  I'm happy to say that all the pieces were included and no extras this time! ;p
