Journey app Feed

No puzzle today

Yes, I didn't start a puzzle today.  I meant to, but I was working on my Linux laptop longer than I planned.  Last night, I was going to see bout getting out my Linux laptop and putting Journey on it. It's the journal app I used on my Android phone, my MacBook Pro, and online.  I saw where it said you could download a Linux version.  I was excited so I got the laptop out last night, plugged it in and booted it.  It booted and then I got an error message about missing packages.  What?  ARGH! I used my Google Foo to look up a solution.  I went through the steps and it started loading. Yay!  But, it just kept loading. For over an hour.  I knew I wasn't going to fix it last night as it was late and I was tired, so I left it alone.

I got on it around 1:30 today and worked on it.  I went into recovery mode (something I had done last night) but I did a few more things in there, installed a few things via the terminal and rebooted.  Success!  I had to play with it a bit and then went to download Journey.  Sadly, since my Linux runs on i386 and not 64 (Bit? I forget the specs but I know the 64) it won't work.  At least I can use the cloud version!  Oh well.

So, I got my Linux laptop up and running without losing any of my stuff.  I don't have anything on there that is not backed up somewhere else, but I didn't want to install fresh and have to download all my apps and set up my personal settings again. I was happy to get this going!  As I was still playing around on it and hoping to find a way to make Journey work (I never did!) my friend texted and asked if I'd like to meet him at a restaurant that is near to his workplace. I said, sure! I went and we ate and then I drove home. I stopped by the post office and checked my box.  I got two penpal letters from regular pals and a letter from a potential new pal. Yay!

As I was leaving my house to go meet my friend, I had been waiting on a package. I checked my package tracking app before I went to my car and it wasn't delivered yet. I go out, get in my car and notice the mail truck drive down the street.  I drove out and noticed my package.  He had come right after I checked the app! lol . I turned around and went back to my house (I had pulled out of the driveway and was heading up the street before I saw the package) . I grabbed it and carried it with me.  I knew it was swag from Twitter Insiders but I didn't know exactly what it was.  I was so excited to get home and open it up!

I joined Twitter Insiders well over a year ago and I join in on discussions there and they send out surveys every so often. I got picked to win some Twitter Insiders swag!  YAY! I love swag.  I got four really nice items.  A tote bag, a water bottle, a notebook, and a pen.  I love it all and I took a picture of my goodies to share:

Nifty, eh?  I love swag!  I love that it is all useful things, too!  If you've read this blog for a while, you'll know how much I love notebooks and pens! It was a good day for mail.  Swag and penpal letters. :)

All in One! (Happy Leap Day!)

I opened the puzzle I got yesterday while thrifting and worked it today. The whole thing!  It was only 300 pieces and it had huge pieces.  I couldn't get the pieces on the board all at the same time because of the puzzle's size and the pieces. I worked in sections until I got the last of the pieces on the board.  At that point, I kept going along and finished it! It's very pretty.  I wish it was 'plain' like the other Thomas Kincade puzzles I worked.  This one has a verse on it. It isn't too noticeable, but I'd rather just have the picture. There were brighter colors on this one than the other ones I'd worked so it wasn't as hard to do.  I enjoyed working it and the big pieces were fun although they were shaped weird and fit weird, but that makes it more challenging.

I was playing with Evernote and Journey today.  I was wondering if there were a way to link the two.  I think I can, but I need to upgrade my plan with Journey and I might do that as it's not too much annually.  I love the app and I use it on all my different devices.  I have it on my Android, my iPad Mini, my MacBookPro, and my Linux computers! Just like Evernote. I have it everywhere too! :)

Sweltering Sunday

It was so hot on my walk today that I almost gave up and called for a ride!  I was sweating like crazy and I didn't think I'd make it far.  I figured I'd get to the park and sit on a bench there and cool off and see if I felt any better.  By the time I got to the park, I walked through it in the shade and that helped a lot.  I also found a five dollar bill on the ground!  That didn't hurt, either.  I decided it I would go on and see how I did.  I got to my turn around point and got a soda and a snack with the money and then headed back.  The snack and the sugar from the soda seemed to perk me up.

I got home and I was glad to have gotten my walk in.  I had to rest and cool off a long time before I could do my workouts.  I did those, my squats and my French lesson.  I washed my bed linen and my hair.  My bed linen just needs to be put  back on the bed.  I decided to bring my pen pal letters, bullet journal, and laptop into the living room and crash on the sofa.  I've written one whole letter. ^^:  I might just type up the rest.  I am still sort of feeling blah from that heat earlier.

It stormed briefly here today and they are calling for storms all week.  Hopefully they can all wait until later in the day so I can walk without any problems.  Hopefully it will cool down a bit.  That would be lovely!

By the way, I used an app on my iPod touch called Day One.  I loved this app a lot on there. I waited for YEARS for an Android version.  Well, before they made an Android version, they released a newer version of it for iOS.  I didn't care for it as much as the original but it was still a decent app.  Well, they now have an Android version.  I exported all my entries for Journey app and put them in Day One.  I found that the Android version is the newer version that I don't like as well.  Also, they make you pay a premium price to sync your journal? No thanks!  So, I realized that all of this if available with Journey and it's much better!

So, no more Day One.  I found that Journey is available for iOS but my iPod isn't supported. It's an older one, so I guess that is why.  I love Journey. I have the Android app, the Mac desktop version, and you can also use it online!  It's an amazing journal app and I love it.  It also has a premium subscription service, but you don't need it for basic things like syncing.  The Android app is $4.99 I think?  The Mac desktop app was less than $15 if I remember right.  I didn't even have to buy the Mac desktop app as I can use it online and via a Chrome extension, but I love the app so much, I want to support the developers.  Give Journey a try.  You will not be disappointed!
