Meh

I didn't really feel like posting tonight, but I don't want to get into that attitude of not posting. It was rainy and messy again today so I didn't go out and do anything.  I wish it would clear off already! I currently have a killer headache that I wish would go away.  I just took some ibuprofen a bit ago so hopefully, it will kick in.

I was looking at my Munzee app today and realized there are a LOT of Munzees that I haven't captured in my city.  I am hoping for a clear, cool day soon!  I want to go capture some.  I also want to deploy more at the beach in September and perhaps some other places too.  If my friend and I go on a hiking trail this summer, I'll try to deploy some then and look for ones to capture.  It's fun.  I just wish I had a local friend that was into it too.

My friend's son and stepson got into it about one day a few years back. It didn't last though.  It would be fun to have someone else to go around with and do it.  Even better if that friend had working air conditioning in their car! LOL!

I finished my zombie book last night and today I started another book. Not a zombie one, though. It was a collection of short stories.  It was a fast read and I finished it already!  Some of the stories were pretty good and some were just meh.  I am not sure which of the ones I have on my Kindle I'll read next.  I probably won't start one tonight as it will keep me up too late like the one did last night. lol

Stress

Yes, it was a pretty stressful day. I am not going to get into all that, but I will tell of the good things that happened.  I got my order from Etsy. It's e-reader sleeves. One is a Pacman design and one is coffee.  They are actually bigger than my Kindle, but they will still work for that.  They also will fit my bullet journal so I can use them for that too if I want!  I took a picture.  It's not the best because I waited for them to be delivered all day.  It never said they were but I checked and they were on my porch. The tracker still says 'unable to deliver'. This is twice that has happened with something I ordered.  I don't know what is going on with that.

Anyway, I got them too late to take a picture in natural light so here is the compromise for now.  Aren't they cute?  They are reversible too!

The color is way off in this photo. They are way prettier in person. I'll get a natural light picture tomorrow but I wanted to share how cute they were tonight!

More RAM? Yes!

My RAM came today and I installed it very quickly and easily.  I DO notice a difference.  My computer is working better.  Things that took forever to load before open right up. It was money well spent!  I'm very happy with the faster laptop!  It woke from sleep quite quickly when I just opened it to post here.  Very satisfied!  Now I don't have to wait forever for things to load.  While I was here, I did a quick test and opened Pages.  I use it to write penpal letters when I type them.  It usually takes a while to open. Not now!  Yay!

I did not sleep well at all last night and I've felt it all day.  I'm hoping to crash hard tonight and sleep well.  My lack of sleep lead to a nasty headache and I've been dealing with that all day too.  Boo on that! I finished my current read last night and I've started another.  I'm on book two of the ones I got from Kindle Unlimited.  The one I finished last night (or this morning) was a zombie book.  This one is a true crime book.  I have to explore more at Kindle Unlimited and see what else I can find!

Kindle Unlimited

I finished my current read today and decided to give Kindle Unlimited a try. I already have four books downloaded from it.  Two true crime, a new zombie book, and the second book of a series I read the first book of a week or so ago.  Sadly the book I just finished and the one series before that are not on Kindle unlimited, but there seem to be a lot of interesting books.  I might find some new authors and that is always a good thing.  For now, I'm going to enjoy my free three month access to books!

Guess what?

If you guessed that I just completed this year's Camp NaNoWriMo you would be correct.  I finished it at right at 50,468 words!  Goal met!  My character survived too! I can definitely revisit this story again as it is opened ended and can be continued. I'm pleased with what I have so far.

I didn't leave the house today as I felt sort of meh.  I hope to go to the store again in a few days to get the things I didn't get when I went yesterday.  I need sour cream and I'm hoping to get a few more of the frozen dinners that I've found and loved.  It seems I am not the only one as they are hard to find!  I just know they are delicious and I really like them.

I finished the second book in the series today and I'm definitely reading the last one!  It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger too!  These are really good and I'm enjoying them.  I am not going to worry about what I'm reading next until I finish this one. I'm sure I'll find something good to read.

Oh my Glob!

I got a late start on writing tonight but I still got in over 1700 words. I'm now less than 3000 from 50,000! Whoo-hoo!  I could have gone on tonight, but I was at a good point to stop, so I did. It's going well.

I got my bed linen washed today and it's ready to go back on the bed.  I just need to get up and do that!  I put away another load of laundry today that I washed yesterday, I washed my hair, and I washed my bed linens. I meant to go spend some time in the yard as it was nice today, but it rained overnight, so the ground would be wet.  I ended up staying in all day. D'oh!

I did read a lot in my current book. It's pretty good.  Depending on how it turns out, I'll decide if I am going to continue with the series or start something else. I'm thinking I'm going on, but we'll see.  I like a lot of characters in the book.

Speaking of my current book (the one I'm writing) I am considering killing off one of my main characters!  I am undecided at the moment.  It would make it so damn sad.  I was just going to have the character have some serious health issues, but I'm still unsure. I love him, I don't want to kill him!

45,000 words and getting close!

I have just hit the 45,000 mark. Actually, I've gone over it by 604 words.  Go me!  Guess what else I did today? I wrote pen pal letters!  I got seven written and sent off.  I went to the post office to mail them and found nine more!  Three are from people I haven't heard from before so potential new pals. I haven't opened them yet.  I was going to and go ahead and write to them and get them ready to mail, but I'm out of stamps!  I ordered some and hopefully, they'll come quickly.

I got a good way into my newest read last night. It's pretty good.  I am hoping to see if there are more of this series.  It's a different post-apocalyptic fiction than my usual. This one has aliens trying to kill everyone on earth.  Something different and so far it's a good read.  I still haven't signed up for Kindle Unlimited, but I plan to.  I figure why not?  I get three months free.  I'm sure in that time I can find out if it's worth it for me! I need to check to see if my library has more of my current series. I know Kindle Unlimited has some from ones I've read in the past that I wanted to continue with.

I just checked and my library has all three of the books from this series. I went ahead and borrowed books two and three! :) Might as well.  That way I can jump into the next book when I finish this one!

Oh! One more thing.  Remember how during the month of actual NaNoWriMo I award myself a pizza?  Well, I had forgotten all about it because of COVID and everything else.  Plus me not planning on writing 50,000 words and all.  Since I AM writing 50,000 + words, I treated myself to a pizza tonight! :p

Oh Starbucks!

I decided today that I was going over to Starbucks to get myself a smoke butterscotch latte.  Before I went, checked the app to see if I could order one.  They were sold out of them.  That means they are out until they bring it back next year. Now I have to figure out something new to try.  I'm so sad.  It was bad enough when they took away my cascara.  Now, this.  I'll find something I like as much, or close.  I'll just have to do some experimenting.  This is really not the time to be doing that though. Oh well!

I got my writing done today. I ended up typing over 2000 words.  I figured it out today and I only needed to do 1200 a day to finish NaNo on time and I went and did 2000.  Well, when it's flowing, I'm going to type!  I might be going past 50,000 because I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get everything in there I want to in 8000 more words.

I am anxious to get back to my current read. I finally had to stop last night so I could go to bed.  I'm really to get back to it.  It's so good!

40k badge!

I just hit the 40,000 mark on Camp NaNo. I have now written twice as much as I planned. I think I'm just going to change it to a goal of 50,000. I am surely going to hit it.  Let me do that now. Okay done!  It's now going to be at least 50,000 words!  Go me!

I didn't do a lot today. I've had a nasty headache.  It's one of those that feels like someone is shoving an ice pick in my forehead. Not good!  I hope to sleep it off tonight.  I read the second story in the new Stephen King book.  It was good, too! I'm going to read the third tonight and possibly start on the last.  It's supposed to be book-length and it's a Holy Gibney story, so that will be cool! She was in the Mr. Mecedes trilogy and The Outsider.  She is a good character and it will be fun to see her again.

For now, I'm signing off.  I want to get a few things done before settling in with my Kindle.  I know I have mentioned it before, but I LOVE my Kindle! :)

Migraine Monday

Yes, I had a pretty nasty one today. It was one of those where light was not happening! I turned off my room lights and only had the lights that are strung around my bed on so I wasn't totally in the dark. I finished my book, too!  It was good and I already found another book to borrow from the e-library.  I thought I had read this one, but I haven't.  I only got started on it.  So far, so good!

I finished up today's Camp NaNo session before posting here. I started out the month writing in the afternoons, but since then, it's been mainly at night.  As long as I get the day's writing done, I don't mind when I do it.  I am now over the 35,000 mark!  Wow, I was only going to do 20,000. I guess I showed myself! :)

Ooh, pretty!

My new case came a day early. It's a pretty blue color.  I tried my Kindle out in it and it's nice.  Good fit and all.  I am going to save it since I know I'll want to change out the cover at some point.  It is so pretty. It feels a bit like leather and has a leather look, but it's not leather.  I'm just glad it didn't have a funny smell.  Some of the reviews for it said it smelled skunky. I got lucky and got a non-skunky one. LOL!

Here is the outside and inside:

Not the best lighting, but there you go! I finished the zombie book last night, it was good!  I remembered I had another true crime book that I borrowed with Amazon Prime so I started it.  That is my current read.

I got in another 1700 words for Camp NaNo today.  I was going to skip today, but I sat down and I didn't so go me! :)

Is this Friday?

Yeah, I don't know.  I finished the true crime book I was reading today.  I immediately was looking for something else to read on my Kindle.  You can search the Kindle store on it. You could on my Kindle keyboard but it was a much longer process!  I found a zombie book that looked pretty good for free. It's the first of a series, so I downloaded it.  I have read a little over half of it already! :P

Have I mentioned I love my new Kindle?  I love my new Kindle.  It's so small, even with the case and it fits nicely right into my purse.  I can carry it with me when I can go back in public again! Yay!  If the other books in this series are on Kindle Unlimited, I might just give it a go.  Three free months is a good deal!  I have noticed a lot of times when I find a zombie book that I like that I get the first in a series for free the rest are available to borrow with Kindle unlimited.

I hit the 30,000 mark in Camp NaNo today!  It's going well.  I sit to write and it's just flowing. It's great. It's fun writing new characters. I love my zombie fiction characters, but these guys are pretty cool too.

In the mail today, I got the oldest Starbucks card in my collection.  It's actually the second one released in the US.  I was so happy to get it for a good price.  My dream card is the first one of course, but I was extremely happy to get this one!

Isn't it nice?  I loved adding this to my collection.   It's in great condition, too! Yay! I am only waiting on one package now and that is the other Kindle case I ordered.

I haven't added one of these in a while, so!  How I'm using Evernote today:  I am copying the text of each day's Camp NaNo writing into Evernote.  That way I have a backup and I can read over it on my phone.  I find more things I need to fix this way! ;p

Whoo hoo!

I forgot to mention in yesterday's post, but yes, I wrote for NaNo yesterday.  I just finished today's word count and I'm now at 28,759 words! My plan was 20,000.  Yay!  I'm very happy with my word count.  It might not be a best-seller, but it's mine and I'm enjoying it!

Today, my Kindle case came today. It's so pretty!  I popped my Kindle in and I love it.  I ordered one more case of a different kind so I'd have a choice.  This one is a pretty blue and it looks like leather, but I'm sure it's not!  I took a picture of the one I got today to show how pretty it is.

I got one batch of my Starbucks cards today.  They are so cool!  They are from 2006 and 2007 and I love them.  I am getting quite the collection! I took a picture of those too! Here is the case and the cards.  I love them all. :)

Pretty, yes?  It fits the Kindle perfectly!

Look at these beauties.  They were all from the same seller.  He had some great cards!  All in all, it was a good day for mail.

Amazon and UPS

So, I got up today and even though UPS doesn't usually get here until later in the day, I went and peeked out and saw a package!  I went and got it and it was this small flat box.  I thought that cannot be my Kindle!  It was from Amazon though so I opened it.  It was my Kindle! YAY!  I like the.enviroental packaging.  The Kindle comes in a slim box. It has the Kindle itself, a quick start guide, and a cord.  I opened everything and turned the Kindle on.  It turned on. YAY!  I got to set it up and play with it today.  I really like it.  I sideloaded the books I have on my computer in Calibre and Amazon automatically downloaded the books I had on the old Kindle that I had purchased from them.  I love that I can created collections like I did on my Kindle keyboard. I don't want just a bunch of book covers as organization. I put it on list view and then created a few collections. I still have several to go, but for now, I've already started a book!

As I was looking around on the Amazon site, I saw a true crime book that looked good and it was borrowable via Prime reads.  I am seriously considering doing Kindle Unlimited again.  I knew when I was looking up a lot of zombie fiction, some of the titles I wanted were available to read on Kindle Unlimited, so I might just do that.  With the new Kindle,  I got an offer for a three-month free trial, so I'm probably going to do that.  I can decide at that time if I can find enough to read to warrant the expense. I'm thinking I probably will, but we'll see!

25,000 words!

I got done writing just a few minutes ago and I was eight words from 25,000.  I fixed that immediately!  I added eight words and I hit the 25,000 mark.  I'm very happy with myself!  Go me!

In other news, I went to the recycle bins today, finally!  I get to the parking lot where they are and there were THREE people there in THREE different cars recycling.  I waited until they all left and was able to go to the bins and get mine done without anyone being there.  People are so stupid! Not one of them had on a mask and they were all up on top of each other. UGH!

While I already out, I went to get some gas. It's so cheap now, I only got $12 worth but I should have just filled it as it was almost full when I got in the car!  I like cheap gas.  It should last me a while since I'm not really going anywhere.

When I got home, I realized that I needed to mow the back.  The front was looking just a bit shaggy, but not too bad. I went ahead and did it anyway.  I got a good part of the back yard done too. I still have a section that needs to be done, but it can wait.  It's not visible from the street and it's not too bad back there just yet.  It is supposed to rain tomorrow so that will give me an excuse to wait an extra day! lol!

My Kindle is supposed to be here tomorrow! Yay!  The case JUST shipped today! LOL. I had a NookColor back in the day and I have a pink leather sleeve case for it, so I can use it for the Kindle until my hard case comes in. :)
