Bonus stars are fun!

So, I didn't walk today as I had planned.  The funny thing is, the rain stopped right about the time I would be going for my walk! LOL  Since I had already decided to skip the walk today, I did just that!  I went out later and hit a Pokestop as this was day seven of a streak and I didn't want to lose my streak!  While I was out, I found myself at Starbucks.  Today and tomorrow, they are giving you 20 bonus stars for any holiday drink.  I got a caramel brulee and it was delicious!  I came home and went in the basement. No luck on getting the pilot light lit on the water heater, but I got nice cold feet. :( .

I decided to wash my hair because it's been bothering me.  When I washed it before, I didn't realize until later that I didn't get all the shampoo out and it was driving me crazy. That water was COLD.  Brrrr.  While I was washing it and freeing my head off, I had the hair bonnet hair dryer on and warming up.  It felt so nice to get under that thing, let me tell you!

I thought about putting up my Yule tree, but last year, a lot of my light strands were faulty..  Either part of the string worked or none of them worked. I went to Target online and got five boxes of lights.  I went to the drive up to pick them up, but no one ever came out. My car was trying to overheat, so I pulled into a another parking spot and went in.  I picked up my lights and headed out.  The lady said the drive up pick up should have worked, but it didn't!  I got my lights and headed home.  I had put the tree up before leaving the house.  Just the actual tree.  When I got home, I tested the five strands of lights I had from last year and only two of them worked!  One strand worked only half way.  In other words, half of the strand would light up and the other half didn't! The one strand that did completely work was an old string and the blue lights weren't as dark as the newer ones. I didn't us that one.  I had enough with the five I bought and the half strand.  I think it looks lovely.  What do you think?

I also did my French and got 1777 words for NaNo!  One of my library books that I had a hold on came in today so I am going to switch to that one on my Kindle.  The one I'm currently reading can be renewed anytime.  I want to get this one that is on a limited time schedule first.

Saturday Survival! :p

So, it was nice an sunny when I got up today.  I nice change from yesterday.  I went for my walk and it was quite nice.  It was in the low 60's so it wasn't cold and it wasn't hot.  Just perfect!  I came home and relaxed a bit.  I saw where my new glasses were to be delivered today. Yay! I didn't think they were coming until Monday.  Back earlier this year when I bought new glasses to replace the ones I broke, I wanted a pair just like the ones I had.  They are just about my favorite glasses ever.  I tried several times and they were always out of stock.  I was afraid they'd been discontinued, but I still had hope.  The other day on a whim, I checked my old orders on Zenni and instead of 'reorder' by that pair being greyed out, it was clickable.  I clicked on it and I was able to order a pair of my favorites.  Yay! I can't wait until tomorrow to wear them.  I always(even when it's the same prescription)  save a new pair of glasses until I wake up the next day so that my eyes are not having the adjust from the old pair to the new pair.  The ones I have now will be kept as a backup pair.  It will be good to have a backup pair.  As I'm writing this, I feel as if I've posted about this earlier in my blog.  If so, sorry!

I finished another book today and started on yet another. LOL . I am on a roll.  I read a book about Zodiac.  I've always been fascinated by the Zodiac killings.  It's about a guy who thinks his dad was Zodiac.  Pretty compelling and interesting read.  I read it pretty damn quick!  I started on another true crime book.  I discovered Hoopla through my local library and there are so many true crime books available!  I can't use my Kindle for them, but I can read on my phone or my tablet.  I don't really like the way the books load on the tablet, but hey, it's free books to read!  The library has books on Overdrive . which I can use with my Kindle, but they have a very limited selection of true crime.  I was amazed at how much stuff popped up on Hoopla.  If I ever get an Amazon Fire, I can read on that.  I think I would like that. I had a Fire for a few days before I realized I couldn't load Google Play on it.  The screen was nice.  I wouldn't mine having one for reading on Hoopla.  I prefer reading ebooks on my Kindle because the screen looks more like the page of an actual book.

So, after my walk, I've mainly spent my Saturday reading.  I am currently cooking dinner.  I decided I wanted something different tonight, so I put the last few frozen chicken breasts in the oven to cook.  I should have put them in earlier, but oh well!  They are marinated in honey teriyaki sauce.  Yum! I can't wait to dig in.  I'll cook some rice to go with them and have a delicious meal!

I re-read the end of my book two today.  I sort of left it hanging.  It seems like there could have been more.  I'm trying to decide if I want to add a few lines to it and then start fresh with book three.  The end of book two has given me the idea for the main part of book three.  I think I could leave book two where I did, but I am not sure.  Decisions, decisions!  I need to hurry up with them.  NaNo starts in 5 days. AHHHHH!

Prep? Nope!

Yeah, I didn't get any prep done today.  I meant to re-read my books, but I downloaded a book on my Kindle and I got to reading it and now I'm almost done with it. LOL . It just drew me right in.  I only have a little bit left, but I needed to post to my blog and to do my French lesson, so I took a quick break.

It was rainy and cold all day so I did skip my walk.  I went out briefly in my car this afternoon to hit a Pokestop and catch a Pokemon.  It was day six of a streak, so I didn't want to lost out on that.  I just stayed out long enough to do that and then headed back.  It was pretty yucky out there.  I have spent the day either in, on, or near my bed.  I also took an extremely long hot bath the afternoon.  I loaded the book to the Kindle app on my phone and was going to read a little of it.  Well, that didn't end so well.  Several hours later, the water was getting cold and I was still reading. lol . I finally got out of the tub and then got my Kindle and synced the book to where I'd left off in the app.  Technology is such a cool thing! I picked up where I left off and even read through dinner.  I can't wait to get back to it as it's near the end and exciting things are going on.

I am hoping to get back to walking tomorrow.  I don't like to miss too many days in a row.  I only got 6000 steps today.  I try for 15,000 every day.  If it hadn't been for the book, I had planned to do some time on the treadmill.  Oh well! LOL . It was a nice day for a book and some coffee. ^_^

Sunny today!

Yes, it was sunny today.  No problems with my walk at all.  I was happy that it didn't rain on me again.  I wouldn't have minded the overcast sky, though! :P . Even though it was sunny, it wasn't too bad out there.  I'm hoping that Fall weather if finally going to show up around here.  That would be so nice. I'm ready to wear all my hoodies. ^_^

I have been watching a good true crime show on Amazon Prime on my Roku.  It's called Crime Stories and it's based in Canada.  I've enjoyed all the episodes so far and there are still some on there to watch.  After I finish this, I'll see what else in on there.  I love that on streaming you can get shows from other countries that you might not get to see here.  I watched a show from France on TubiTv recently.  I was loving TubiTV until the commercials came.  BOO! lol I watched it for a few weeks before I saw the first commercial.  That was cool.  I was watching a show called The Prosecutors on there and hadn't finished when the commercials started. I found the show on Prime so I finished watching it there.  The Prosecutors is done by the same people behind FBI Files and New Detectives.  Both shows that I love.  I see quite a few shows that look like true crime on the Prime channel, so after I finish this series, I'll check those out.

I finished book four the Dan Wells books.  I'm ready to start on book five.  It's ready to go on my Kindle.  I finished Doctor Sleep on today's walk, so I went to the library and got The Bazaar of Bad Dreams.  I've read it, just like Dr. Sleep, but this will be my first listen.  After I finish that, I'll see what else the library has. I might see if they have some books by other authors I like.  There are a LOT of Stephen King ebooks, but not as many audiobooks.  I'll find something to 'read' after Bazaar, I'm sure!

UGH and it's not even summer yet!

Today's walk was HOT.  It was in the 90's today and believe me, I felt it!  I was so glad to get home to my air conditioned room!  I relaxed and cooled off as long as possible before doing today's workouts.  I got those done and my French and then relaxed before fixing lunch.  I didn't want to do my squats just then.

Later this evening, I did my squats.  I also went out and did some roadwork! At some point, some jackass parked half in the edge of my yard and it made parts of the yard go out in the street.  I went out with a shovel and got the majority of that out of the road.  I then got my hose and washed some more away.  It's made mowing at the edge a lot harder.  I wish I knew who did it so I can give them a kick in the teeth!

I got that done and had to bury a bird. :(  I noticed a dead bird when getting the hose.  I've seen more than my fair share of dead birds lately on my walks.  Today there was one in my yard.  It's so weird!  Poor birds!

I'm pretty sure my bed linen is dry and ready to go back on the bed, but I'm being lazy and don't feel like messing with it at the moment.  I will have to do it eventually as I can't sleep tonight without linens on the bed. :p  I've felt so tired all day. I'd really like to just say phooey on it all and go to bed!  I did start on a book last night and it's good.  It is Friend Request.  I wasn't sure when I started it, but it's pretty good.  I want to read more of that.  I should re-make my bed and then put on pajamas and snuggle in my clean bed linen and read for the rest of the evening.  That sounds pretty good, actually!

What day is this again?

I think it's Thursday, but I'm not really sure at this point. lol  It's been a long hot day.  My walk was pretty brutal heat wise. It's scary that it's this hot and it's only May. Ugh!  When I got home, it took a while to cool off.  I did it by lying on my bed in my room with the air conditioning!  I did my workouts and my French lesson and then had lunch.  My friend had prep work to do for the trip, so we didn't walk today.  I don't know if I would have wanted to. I did want to go to the post office, but since we didn't walk, I didn't get to go. I'm hoping to go before I leave for the trip!

I wrote out a list of things to carry on the trip. Of course this Macbook will be going so I can do daily beachy blog posts. ^_^  I also plan to carry my Fitbit charger and my extra bands. Who knows what I might want to wear while there.  Since it has to be charged every five days, I'll have to charge it during the trip!  I don't want my Fitbit to die while on vacation.

I'm over half way done with The Outsider and it's good!  I am not sure if I'll finish it tonight, but I'll probably get close if I don't.  It draws you in from the very beginning.  It's so good.  Classic King for sure!

I mentioned sometime ago that my replacement Fitbit Charge 2 had acted up and wouldn't sync. I've been using the first one.  I sent the other one back and they sent me a replacement again.  I fully charged it up and I'm wearing it now.  I hope this one will be with me for  long time.  Just in case anything goes crazy, I'm going to keep the first one so I'll have it as a backup if anything happens. I have faith that this one is going to work well for me and last for many years to come!

Phooey

I am in the midst of a migraine and it's not fun.  It came out of nowhere, too.  I hate migraines.  I want it to go away so I can read more on The Outsider.  I started it last night and it's good!

I walked today and it was hot.  I was so glad to get home and get to the air conditioning!  I did my workouts at the usual time today and then my French lesson.  I was a bit late fixing lunch because I got distracted online.  I really haven't done much else today.  I did do a sink full of dishes. The majority of the dishes were coffee cups. :p

Speaking of coffee.  I bought a bag of Eight O'Clock coffee beans at the beginning of the month.  I just finished up the other bag of coffee I had and opened it.  It's so good! I'd never had this brand before, but it was on sale, they sell it whole bean, and it smelled delicious!  It was!  I like it quite well.  It's definitely a keeper.  I would like to get to Starbucks and get a bag of whole bean Pike Place roast.  I haven't been over there still! The grocery store sells Starbucks coffee, but it's ground. I want the beans.  I'm addicted to grinding my own. It makes the kitchen smell so good!

Yes, this is a short post, but like I said, I have a migraine and I really need to relax a bit before getting the Kindle out to read more of the new Stephen King book.

What a day!

I got in my regular walk today and it was hot.  I was sweating like crazy when I got home.  I cooled down and then decided to mow the lawn!  I was dripping with sweat when I was done with that.  I only did the front and part of the back.  I was glad to have it done.  I had to cool off again and I didn't do my workouts right then!  I did relax and do my French lesson and then it was time to fix lunch.

After lunch, I relaxed a while.  I thought my friend and I would walk, but we didn't.  I sort of wanted to, but at the same time I didn't since I'd done so much earlier.  I finished the true crime book I was reading and went to the library website hoping to find The Outsider.  It's the new novel by Stephen King.  They actually had it and it was available to borrow as an ebook. YES!  I am going to start it tonight.

When I came here tonight, my blog was missing!  I thought maybe Typepad was having issues.  I checked, and no.  So then I went to the blog via Typepad and there it was.  My domain had expired and I didn't realize it!  I went and renewed it and it took a few minutes for it to show back up.  If you visited today and couldn't find the blog via the domain name, forgive me!  I'm glad it's back.

I mailed my huge stack of mail on my walk.  I had all my letters plus I had two friendship books I was returning to people.  Hopefully they'll both become new pen pals. ^_^  That would be nice.  I also finally did my workouts.  I am going to finish up this post and get into that book!

Wednesday walks and things

So, it was overcast but not raining when I got up today.  Guess what it was doing when I started walking?  Yup, you guessed it, raining!  Luckily it didn't last too long and I was able to walk without using my umbrella after a bit.  There was a big power outage along my trail.  Seems a tree fell over last night and took out a couple of power poles!  The businesses along my route were all dark and closed.  I walked past the Hardee's and there were people in the drive thru all the way around the building.  There were no lights or people inside.  I don't know how they thought they would get any service. I just shook my head and walked on!

They had the tree and the poles mostly cleared up when I got to that point.  I had to cross the street because the sidewalk was blocked on the side I usually go down, but that was it.  I noticed that at the busy intersections, they had generators hooked up to the street lights to keep traffic moving.  I was an interesting walk!

As for my Fitbit, I guess I'm going to have to learn to deal with the fact that it's just not going to give me as many steps as my One did.  It's really frustrating.  I feel like I'm working so much harder just to get to 15,000 which is what I set for myself in a day.  I used to get home from a walk and have either right under or right over 13,000.  Now, I get home with 11,000 if I am lucky!  I have done all the fixes I can think of.  I changed my stride length, I wear the Fitbit in the right place.  I don't know what else to do!  I did see that someone said they had the same issues and after a couple of weeks, it seemed to work itself out.  I'm hoping this will happen for me, too!  I love the Charge 2 and I don't want to have to start over again.

I got a teal Fitbit branded band today.  I like the after market bands I have, and I will order more, but I wanted a Fitbit branded teal one since that is the color I wanted for my Charge 2.  I just wish Target had had the teal ones!  I do love purple and the plum is so nice, but teal is my color. ^_^

It cleared off after I got home, of course! lol  I did my workouts.  Abs today.  Not too bad, but the cardio workout was modified because some of the moves and my foot pain are not compatible!  I decided that I would mow a bit more of the lawn.  I probably should have waited until tomorrow to let it dry, but it cut fine.  I have one more section to go and I'll get it another day.  I wanted to mow to get in more steps! lol  I am at 18,047 at the moment.  I probably won't get a lot more tonight as it's already after 11.

Oh!  After my walk, when I'm at my most tired and my feet are killing me, my friend called.  She said her mom had a gas line leak earlier and the police and fire department and all kinds of other people were up at her house and she couldn't get her on the phone and would I go check on her.  I knew her mom was okay since I walked right by there and didn't see anything when I came home.  I walked up there and her mom was on the phone.... to her. ~_~;;;  I got to see and love on her mom's dog Roxie though so it wasn't a wasted trip. I love me some Roxie.  She is a little cutie and one of the pups I dog sit for sometimes.

I  finished the true crime book I was reading last night and I've started on another.  This one is another by M. William Phelps.  I love his books!  Speaking of true crime, did you see that they caught the Golden State killer today?  I remember that case from Unsolved Mysteries and I saw a show about it on HLN while at the beach.

Wednesday catch up!

Since I didn't post a real post last night and I promised a real one today, I decided to do it early!  I am still very tired today.  I didn't sleep well again last night.  I am hoping to catch up on some tonight, but I probably won't.  Considering that my friend and I are leaving for the beach in the morning.  I never sleep well the night before a trip.  I sleep even less knowing I have to get up earlier than my usual time. :p

So, yesterday I walked, but I didn't do my workouts.  I would have, but there were a lot of moves that would hurt my foot.  My foot still hurts a lot.  Walking is bad, but it isn't as bad as some of the workouts.  I skipped my workouts  I decided since I won't be able to do any until I get back, I'm just skipping them until Monday.  I plan to eat and enjoy everything possible this weekend, because Monday, I plan to finally get on track!  I want to reach my goal weight!  Since I'll be at the beach this weekend, I plan to enjoy the food. :p

I washed clothes last night and packed my suitcase.  My clothes are all ready, but my other suitcase is still empty. I carry two small suitcases to the beach.  One has my clothes, the other has my electronics, notebooks, bujo, etc.  I also carry my messenager bag, but I carry it up front in the car with me.  I carry my phone, wallet, trip journal, and other things in it.  I also carry a Starbucks tumbler for coffee!  I picked one of of my more recent ones that I haven't used much.

I was thinking of leaving the laptop at home, but I got some electrical tape and was able to fix the cord.  It's not a permanent fix, but it is working fine at the moment.  I had some other tape on it and I could hear it sparking.  I put the electrical tape on and it's not sparking and it is charging well. ^_^  I really want to be able to use my Macbook!  I have to do nice blog posts at the beach, right?

Today I walked and it was sunny and in the seventies!  Yesterday it was around fifty.  I was able to walk in short sleeves today.  That was weird.  I am ready for this same weather but with an ocean view.  I hope to take a lot of pictures and you know I'll share some after I get home.  I'll also try to share one a day while there.  I plan to get to the Starbucks at North Myrtle.  I have three free drinks on there and I got my notification today that I'm gold for another year.  I already knew that. :p It's nice to see it though. :D

I have such a weird tan line from winter walking!  I wear a pair of long fitness capris so I have a nice tan on my calves but from half way up and past my knee, I have none. LOL  It looks so weird and makes me self conscious.  I plan to get some just above the knee shorts to wear on my walks.  I hope to get grey ones as all the black ones I've worn in the past all get bleached out from the sun.  Grey ones would too, but it wouldn't be so noticeable. I have never tanned in my life until I started walking!  It's so weird.

Ah, I think I totally made up for that short post last night.  I was just so tired.  I am also currently reading a true crime book by Ann Rule that I hadn't read before.  It's so good!  I am carrying my Kindle with me to the beach, and I will probably finish it there.  I'm also still reading the book on coffee.
