What the Junk?!

Well, I didn't get my inspection sticker today.  I went but he was really busy and said if I came back tomorrow he'd work me in.  I will head back up there tomorrow and get it done.  I did get by the post office while I was out though.  I picked up a stack of mail and was able to get a 'book' of stamps.  It was actually a sheet of stamps, but there you go!  Now I can get my letters written and mail them out.

I should have worked on them today, but I didn't get around to it.  I had to go back out for a quick errand this weekend and ended up riding around a bit. I couldn't help myself. :) It's nice to not worry about the car cutting off, overheating, etc!

In other news, I need to get one of my mowers going so I can get the front lawn mown.  The back doesn't really need it and even if it did, I'm not worried about it as no one can see it.  The front is still not horrible, but it's getting shaggy and I don't like that! I'll see what I can do tomorrow after I get my sticker.  

I added a few words to my book today.  I had a day where I forgot to add something and I went back and did that today and updated my word count.  Now, if I could just get my 50,000 badge! AHHHH! 

I hope to get to my new stack of letters in the next few days. I ordered some stamps online and they came today! Yay!  I was going to order from USPS which I usually do, but it would have taken longer. I went on eBay and there are a lot of people selling stamps on there!  I got two 10 stamp books for the regular retail price with free shipping, so I did that.  When I don't get them online, I get them at the drug store as they sell them.  I really didn't want to go to CVS just for stamps, so I got them online.  Easy peasy!

My walk today was quite interesting.  Why? It was crazy windy out there.  It was cooler too, so that made it worse.  I was very glad to get home and out of that wind!  I did stop while on my walk at CVS.  I needed stamps, and I knew I could get a book of them there.  I got those and four boxes of clearance mini candy canes.  I love peppermint!  

I didn't go out again after I came home as the temperature was supposed to drop and the wind was still pretty bad.  It's supposed to get down in the teens tonight.  Yikes!  I hope it's warmer than that tomorrow when I walk! lol . 

My friend didn't get over here this weekend at all, so I still don't have hot water.  I had soooo many dishes to wash and I was trying to wait for the hot water.  I don't feel they get as clean in cold water.  I finally gave in and washed them today.  I couldn't wait any longer to wash them.  I was almost out of plates and I was totally out of forks. lol . I also washed my bed linen.  I just need to put that back on the bed and I'll be done for the day. 

I am trying to find an Apple pencil (1st generation) online for a low price, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen!  Apple has refurbished ones for $85.  I can't afford that either.  Maybe one day I can get one for less than $40 but I'm not holding my breath. lol . I would like one to use with my iPad mini.  

So, I went for my walk today and it was a bit cloudy, but the sun was out.  I was partially in my walk when it started raining.  it wasn't too bad, but I did have to use the umbrella.  It stopped a bit and the sun came out.  Then, it started to cloud up and it was pouring rain!  It stopped after a while, and the sun came out.  This went on for the entire walk.  Sun, rain, sun, etc!  Luckily, it never rained as hard as it did that one time.  I got home and I was glad to get here!  I relaxed a bit and then did my workouts.  It was ab day so that wasn't the most fun. :p

After workouts, I did my French lesson.  While I doing that, I heard a boom.  It was thundering!  It stormed for  a while and then stopped.  The sun came back out.  Now, it's overcast again and it looks like rain and it looks like we might have another storm.  I'm in for the night, so if it wants to storm, let it be!  I don't mind and I love to be home during a good thunderstorm.  I just had a cup of coffee. I really wanted to go to Starbucks since I haven't been this month.  I knew my friend that usually won't carry me over there sure wouldn't today.  There would be some excuse.  Probably the weather, but who knows.  Between her, and her mom, they have four, count them four vehicles.  Also, her husband has a vehicle, her son has one and her stepson has one.  My car  has been messed up for three years and she has never, not once, offered to carry me anywhere.  The few times I've gotten to carry me anywhere I needed to go, she acted like it was  huge hassle.  I really need new friends.  As an introvert, I don't make friends easily so getting new friends is out of the question. :( 

I finished watching all the episodes of Unusual Suspects on Hulu.  I watched those after finishing all the episodes of Nightmare Next Door on there.  I'm currently watching Cold Case Files (the new version) on Hulu.  I loved the original on A&E and was glad when they brought it back.  I was even happier when they got Bill Kurtis back to narrate! :D  Danny Glover did a great job, but the show was always narrated by Bill Kurtis. 

I just stood up and looked out the window. It's pouring rain again! I hope it clears off for my walk tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath!  After I type this post, I guess I should get out my stationery and pen pal letters and try to get caught up on them.  I feel bad for letting them get behind.  I should have written the ones I had even when I didn't have stamps.  They would have been ready to go when I did get stamps.

So, I'm posting early today so I don't do like I did last night!  I walked further today on my walk since I needed to go to the post office.  I picked up my piece of mail. It was a pen pal letter that needed postage.  They considered it a package and not a letter because it felt like it was too thick to be just a letter.  It  WAS just a letter.  UGH.  I paid the $2.50 to get it and I also got five international stamps.  I then headed on my way back home.  I didn't do my workouts when I got here as I was extremely hot and very tired.  I'll either do them later tonight or I may skip them today.  Why?  Well, I am going for another walk later, so I might not get a chance to do them.  I am not sure exactly when we are going to walk, but we will sometime.

I got my replacement piece for my Fitbit Charge 2 today.  I charged the battery to full and I'm wearing it now.  I already have a good feeling about this one. It's going to count steps, distance, and everything else correctly!  It charged easily and it's syncing well, too.  I'm quite pleased.  I will see how it tracks on tonights walk and tomorrow's too.  My usual daily walk is the best test for it.

When I went to the post office, luckily, the nice lady was working.  There is a guy that works the counter sometimes and I DO NOT like him.  I was so happy to see her and not him.  He is a pain in the butt and acts like an ass!  The lady that waited on me today is always sweet as she can be.  Her name is Queen and she is certainly as nice as one!  I also had to stop to get my prescription.  The guy at the pharmacy kept putting my birthdate in wrong and he was cracking us both up.  He tried to put in that I was born in the twenties at one point! LOL!  It was hilarious.  I got my script and headed home.  It was the first good experience I've had at this pharmacy since having to switch to it after Kmart closed.

I am not sure when my friend will come for us to walk.  I hope it's not too long.  I have to put my socks and shoes on.  I also have to put my bra back on and I'm not doing that until I absolutely have to! LOL!  I finished the first Oz book on my walk today and I'm just getting started on the second one.  The second one has Jack Pumpkinhead in it so I'm quite happy! ^_^

Well, it was cool today when I started my walk and it didn't get much warmer as I went along!  It did get warmer after I got home from my walk though.  I got hot after my walk too. I did my workouts and they were all cardio! LOL!  I got through that and then did my French lesson.  I noticed that my Fitbit today seemed to be more in tune with my steps.  I did walk a bit further today and got more steps.  I think it's starting to adjust to me. I decided to try sleep mode last night in sensitive instead of normal. That was insanity! LOL!  My sleep patterns were horrid.  I put it back to normal for tonight. :p

I ran to the post office today. I had one letter.  I only have one other already.  I only have one stamp left though.  I wished I'd gotten some stamps this month.  Maybe I'll get a windfall and I can get some stamps. If not, my letters will be delayed on sending.  I hate that, but I can't mail them without stamps!

My friend recently got a puppy.  I hadn't seen it until today.  I was coming back from my walk and I saw her in the yard. I thought she was walking Cocoa the mini wiener dog that I love so much, but it was the puppy.  Since I haven't met him yet, I had to go see.  He has puppy breath and he is adorable!  He is a Boxer pup and so cute.  He whined when I left. Awww! I told her I was going to steal him. lol

I drove down to the post office this evening after going to McDonald's.  I had an alert on my phone that through the McDonald's app, you could get any medium McCafe beverage for FREE with a $1 order!  I decided to treat myself to a fry. :P  I used mobile payment for the first time there. It was pretty cool.  I ordered and paid.  I typed which 'bay' I was in and they brought my order out to me.  Pretty neat.

Since I was out, I went to the post office.  I had seven letters. YIKES!  I already have four to write and I have exactly 8 stamps.  HELP!!!!! lol  I am going to write the four I already have tonight or tomorrow and then I'll get to the others.  I hope to get some stamps asap!

I am STILL waiting on my payment to clear at Fingerhut so they will ship my Fitbit.  I'm getting so impatient.  I wish I had the money to order one from Fitbit themselves. I would probably already have it. I hate waiting.  I swear I've had other things clear the bank that have come out after that transaction.  So annoying!  If I had anything to sell, I would certainly do it.  I thought at one time of opening an Etsy shop, but I need a sewing machine if I want to do anything with fabric.  I can do repairs on my stuff, but to create something, I'd want a sewing machine!

I wish I still had some stuff to sell on Ebay.  Any extra money would help me a lot.  I shouldn't have gotten anything today from McDonald's, but the free coffee was too tempting! :p  I have money on my Starbucks card, so I'm covered there.  I hope to get over there soon.  I haven't had any since the beach trip.  I am hoping they have cascara syrup.  I want a cascara latte!

I got in a good walk today and then came home and did my workouts. I'm glad it was arm day, because my poor butt is still sore from yesterday's butt workouts. lol  OUCH!  I finished the book I was reading last night and started on a book about Ted Bundy. I've read many books about him, but not this one.  It's good so far.  

OH! I forgot to mention.  Sometime ago, I found a cute double pencil / pen case on Amazon that I loved.  It was an Adventure Time pen case with Finn and Jake on it.  I loved it but it was over twenty dollars and that didn't include shipping!  I recently found it on ebay by accident and I ordered it. I came today and it's so cute!  Here is a couple of pictures:

So, I woke up today to warm weather!  The high today was 72!  It was really nice.  The sun even came out for a bit.  It's been so cloudy and overcast for so long.  It was nice to see the sun.  I got in a nice walk and came home and relaxed a bit before doing my workouts.  I got those done and then did my French lesson and had a few minutes to relax before fixing lunch.  After lunch, I was just hanging out and then I thought about going to Starbucks.  I wanted to go, but I didn't want to get there and not have a place to sit.  I decided that I'd go and if there was nowhere to sit, I'd get a drink and bring it home with me.

I got there and one of the little tables was free!!!!  I put my messenger bag down to hold that table and went to get in line.  I got my cascara latte, a venti!  I also got two new gift cards that I didn't have.  They were just putting them out! I had my pen pal letters with me.  I wrote to all my pen pals and drank my latte.  While I was writing, I noticed that the couple that has the Corgi.  I had to go see him.  I got lots of Corgi kisses!!!!!! He is such a sweet pup.  The pair are regulars like myself.  I was telling her about this being my fourth time coming and trying to get a place to sit.  She said they'd been having the same issues.  I really wish the place was bigger.  We both miss the old location.

I stayed at Starbucks after I finished my letters for a bit and then headed out.  I went by the post office to check my box.  I couldn't mail my letters as I didn't take any envelopes or stamps with me.  I'll mail them on tomorrow's walk.  I only had one letter at my box.  I'm totally caught up except for the new one that just came.  I have the names of two potential pals and I'm going to write a couple of  small intro letters to sent to them with my 'new pal' letter.  I'll do that and then I'll read and play more Pocket Camp.  I'm watching the Olympics again.  More Skeleton tonight.  This stuff is nuts!  The male figure skaters are on tonight too.  

No, I didn't go to the post office and get more letters, yet!  I did sit down and write a stack of letters today.  I have one more to do and then I'll have them all done.  Since I had so many, I decided to type them.  I prefer handwriting, but with 12 letters, I knew my hand would give out.  I didn't want to just write some and type others.  To be fair to all my pals, I just typed them all!  I figured that would be the best way to do it.  I got a book of stamps today so I can mail the letters tomorrow.

I went to Starbucks to get a drink and bring it home to sip on while writing my letters.  Again, when I didn't plan to stay, one of my two favorite spots was open. Figures! Oh well!  I got my drink and came home and enjoyed it.  It lasted until after all the letters were done.  The last letter that I need to do is  a new pal.  I always send new pals a 'new pal' letter that is typed and include a small handwritten letter in it.  I'll do that later so that it can go out with the other letters.  This is a new international pen pal and I've used all my international stamps. Oops!  I'll probably just put regular stamps on it to make it go.

In other news, I ordered a cute little mini messenger bag.  I've been waiting all weekend for the tracking to update.  It finally did today and it's at the post office.  That means it should be delivered tomorrow! YAY!  I found it when looking at different things on Amazon. It was only $10 and I had just gotten a $5 gift card for Amazon so I bought it.  I can't wait to see it.  It's pretty small according to the description.  I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Okay, I'm out of here.  I need to do a few more things and then I need to write that last pen pal.  I also want to work on my bullet journal.  See you tomorrow! :)

I got these cool stamps back several months ago and meant to post them then.  I really like them.  I only have a few left.  I need more stamps! Ah!

Please forgive my long delay in posting.  I haven't posted here since September.  I was sick during August and September and got very behind on everything.  I even got behind on my pen pal letters and this blog (and my main blog) too!  I plan to get back into posting at my blogs more often.

I am now caught up with pen pal letters.  I have recently sent out some letters to potential new pals.  I have heard back from one and I'm writing her back soon.  I also got matched up at LWA and I have a new pal from Germany to write.  Yay!  I hope to write letters either tomorrow on Wednesday. If Wednesday, I'll probably go to Starbucks.  

Since I posted last, I have purchased a new desk.  I love it and I've been writing all my letters from here.  I miss my Starbucks visits though, so I hope to get back to those soon. I'll be sitting in Starbucks, writing letters and sipping on a Cascara latte.  I tried these recently and they are GOOD!

I also hope to get back to posting ideas here for people who like to pen pal.  Writing letters is great fun.  I have updated my pen pal ad at a few of the sites I'm listed at and hope to get some new pen pals from that.  I have several great pen pals that I got last year, but I've also lost some.  I hate to start writing to a great pal and then lost them.  A few of my favorites changed their address and my letters were sent back. I'm hoping that they will send an updated address as I miss hearing from them.

I still would like to have more pen pals.  It's such fun to hand write letters!  Okay, I've actually done an update.  Go me!  I want to make another post with some cool stamps I got a few months ago. Look for that up next!

I went to the post office earlier this month to get some stamps.  The lady working was really nice.  She pulled out a bunch of different stamps for me to choose from.  She was enthusiastic about them, too!  That was cool.  I got a sheet of 4 of the planet stamps. (This block featuring Pluto) and a sheet of 16 of the National parks stamps.  I love getting new and interesting stamps!  After I purchased these, a pen pal sent me a letter with a planet stamp.  Hers was Jupiter!  Very cool.  I took a picture of the stamp sheets to share:

The stamps themselves are round.  They each feature the Moon.  I have a few International pals, so I like getting these. I think they look really nice on the envelopes.  

I received my postal order today of stamps.  I got a sheet of the International moon stamps and I also got the new Soda Fountain favorites.  These are such nifty stamps:

The banana split ones are really big.  The others are pretty much regular size.  It's a cute collection of stamps.  I love getting fun stamps for my letters!

I was going to buy some stamps at my local post office today and then realized that the local one I go to isn't open on Saturday! Phooey!  Oh well, I'm sort of glad now, though.  Why?  I found these beauties at USPS.com:

I ordered a sheet of 20 and I also ordered a sheet of International stamps.  These Soda Fountain ones are a new release.  They say they were just released on June 30!  I love them.  Awesome stamps are fun!
