Tired and thrifting

My friend and I went on our usual Friday thrift trip. I bought more than I should have as I had an unexpected, but urgent, bill pops up.  We went our usual route. I found a small, cute black Fossil bag in Salvation Army along with a pouch, and a Vermiso machine like the one I found and left at the Goodwill in Walkertown last week. This one was only $7.99. The fun part begins now trying to find pods to fit it. Starbucks doesn't make them anymore, but there are a couple of other brands that make them. All expensive, of course. Ugh. Oh well.

At Goodwill, I only found a cute notebook in a zip-around 'case', I am pretty sure I can swap any A5 notebook. I'll check tomorrow. At Walkertown, I got a few cables (They have this bin of all kinds of assorted cables. I got one that fits my little Shortwave radio, but like the one I bought on Amazon, it makes static, too. :( At least it was only a dollar! I also found a nice USB C cable.  I got a little notebook in there, it's a daily wellness journal, and I got a vintage Password game.  At Mayodan, I found a cool Starbucks tumbler with München on it! Neat!  It's a vintage city tumbler. I've never seen one from out of the country, so that was a nice find. I think that is all? Oh, I got some wet wipes in one Goodwill and some sanitizing wipes in Salvation Army, and a cute novelty pen. I think that was everything. Now, I'm going to try to wind down and relax a bit while listening to the Shortwave. I really wish I could find a power cord that doesn't make static.

Oh, almost forgot, I passed up a Starbucks mug in the Reidsville Goodwill. I am pretty sure I have the exact one or a similar one, so I passed it up. It was $2.99. If it had been .99¢, I would have just gotten it.

Thrift fun!

My friend and I went on our usual Tuesday thrift trip. We added Eden NC to the mix since we planned to eat there. I'm glad we did because I found three, yes three Fossil handbags in there. :D I also found a Sony Walman that has TV/Weather/Radio. Neat. It was a whole ninety cents. Score! It works too! The only thing missing is the little clip but I'm not too concerned about that.  I haven't really played with it a lot, but I did confirm that it works. I've only tried out the FM band. I found a manual pdf online so I am going to play with it more in a bit. Here is that little guy:

PXL_20220810_002207504~2

In Reidsville, I found a few cute things. At Salvation Army, my favorite was a Pac-man glass from the '80s! SCORE! It's heavy glass and it's in great shape!

PXL_20220810_001955128~2

Cool, yes? At Goodwill there, I found two Starbucks items. A plastic tumbler and a mug. Here they are:

All in all a good thrifting trip. :). There were other things. A scanner thing that I need to research and learn more about. (I will update if I remember), a cute leather coin purse shaped like a dog from Hawaii, and a box with a Hemmingway quote. All in all, fun finds. The box with the quote has pens and pencils on top. It's heavy, not sure what it's made of.

Hello on Friday!

I am so sorry for not posting yesterday. I had a horrible night's sleep and I was so tired all day yesterday. I didn't really do much of anything! I did write, and that was good, but I wrote a ton, today!  Today, I also went thrifting with my friend. We did the regular Friday route. Reidsville, Walkertown, and Mayodan NC.  I didn't find any huge finds, but I found some goodies. Here is a picture of my finds:

PXL_20220806_005443978

Items from the top left are a sleep mask, a puzzle, a Harry Potter sign, a red planner with carrying handles, a small vintage key wallet, a Happy Halloween sign, some striped socks, a Moleskine, a Starbucks mug with a lid, and a Starbucks VIA tumbler. Not a bad haul, eh?

The planner thing is cool. There is an A5 size binder in there with actual planner pages. It was in the purse section! It does look like a purse, so I can see why they did that.  When I got home, my replacement radio had arrived. Yay! This one was brand new and it came safely. I put some batteries in (I'll get an adapter later) and turned it on. It's going to take a bit to get used to the controls, but I've already figured out a few things. As I said, I used to listen to Shortwave in the 90's so it's not a new thing for me. I played around on the LW (AM band a bit) and I did on the SW band. I actually found quite a few broadcasts! That was fun. This radio had a ton of presets for memory, so I saved several of the channels I found. With shortwave, most stations are only available at certain times, so sometimes it's a search thing. There used to be a great publication that I bought every year that listed everything. It had information on radios too. I miss that book! It was Passport To World Band Radio  and it was great!  I have bookmarked a few sites online that have information and I'll use those. I'm very happy this little radio came undamaged. It's the smallest shortwave radio I've ever had, but I actually like the size, it's very portable and I can carry it to the beach and see if I can get more / different broadcasts there. Today I was listening to a Spanish-speaking channel. I didn't understand anything, but it was fun to listen anyway. I'd love to find a French one to listen to and see if I catch any words. :) So, here is the little guy:

The leather case that protects the radio can be removed. It has to be to put batteries in! Also, the radio itself has a kick stand so you can use that. That front panel on the right opens down and there is s dial with major cities. (You dial to the time zone you are in) and there are a few function buttons. All in all I love my cute little radio!

A list

Ha ha, love the title. :P  So, here is a complete (I think) list of the goodies:

The ten Starbucks items:

One black Starbucks mug

One large holiday Starbucks mug

Two ceramic tumblers (SC and Reserve)

A green tumbler with a handle

a holiday tumbler (I found this exact same one recently and there may be a picture of it on my blog further down)

A 'make your own' tumbler (this one you unscrew and put in a picture or whatever you want)

A stainless smaller tumbler with a cork bottom (no lid)

Really big stainless tumbler (this one has seen better days)

24oz cold cup (no lid)

Everything else: MacBook, Sherpani crossbody bag, Hello Pumpkin mug, Corgi mug, Fossil wallet, ceramic jack o lantern, metal jack o lantern, roll stickers, 'tul' disc notebook cover, rainbow pencil case for a binder, and a Narwhal plush.  What a haul, yes? Whew, glad I finally typed it all out. lol

I didn't mention it yesterday because I was so out of it, but we did go to one Goodwill yesterday.  I got two t-shirts (in the $1 bin), a small Nike backpack (in case I ever start walking again), a mini Myrtle Beach bag, some Sugar Daddys, and a mini Sak Roots bag.  We went to eat and decided to run by a nearby Goodwill that we don't get to very often.

I am not sure if we'll do our regular thrift run tomorrow. To be honest, I'd be just as glad to stay home and skip it! Ad for today, I had to run out and mail something and I also mowed the front lawn.  It took longer to get the stupid mower started than it did to mow. That made mowing more frustrating, Yay! ~_~  I'm going to try to relax the rest of the evening and then see how tomorrow goes. I've written a good bit in my current story, and I may write a bit more. I'm not sure yet.I am very happy that it's back on track and I'm also happy the front lawn is mown! :p

Still tired

I am extremely tired as I didn't sleep well at all last night. I also had to get my air conditioner in my window today as it's starting to get hot enough for it.  I was already tired and now I'm tired and sore.  I did take some pictures of the haul to share. I hope to do a complete list soon. Here is a little sample of some of my goodies:

You can click on any image to see it larger.  These are a few of my finds. I hope to post a list tomorrow.

Oh dear, there is so much stuff.

My friend got off work early today so we started in Reidsville and then went to Greensboro. I found SO. MUCH. STUFF. I'm extremely tired from all the crowds and the long hours, so I am not going to do a picture post tonight. I hope to get a bunch of pictures tomorrow.  As for the things, I found TEN Starbucks items.  Mostly tumblers, but there were a few mugs.  I found a rolling drawer cart (something I've been hoping to find on a thrift trip) and a MacBook from 2007! LOL, It boots, but the screen is cracked BUMMER! :(  I couldn't see that when I bought it. It was also missing the charger and battery, but I was able to test its booting up with my charger.  I am sad it's broken, but it was only $15.00. I have never seen a MacBook of any kind when thrifting so I had to have it. It's in a good home, now. There are a bunch of other miscellaneous things, A Corgi mug, a random mug,  a couple of jack o lanterns, and more. I'll do a legit full post tomorrow and post a list. It was a fruitful trip and now I hope to not go thrifting again for years.

I'm seriously tired af! I haven't written yet and i promised myself that I would not miss a day of writing even if I just write a few lines, so as soon as I post this, I'm going to try to write a few paragraphs and call it good. I'm too tired to get into a lot of serious writing tonight. :)

Thursday Thrift

My friend is off tomorrow, so he texted me today and asked if I wanted to do our usual Friday thrift, today. I did, so we did! Yes, I wrote for Camp first! So, we went to our usual, Reidsville, Walkertown, and Mayodan. I found a small leather wallet in Salvation Army and nothing in Goodwill Reidsville.  At Walkertown, I found several nice things!  Some time back, I found a nice, working Brother label maker. I saw two refills in there tonight. I wasn't sure they'd fit as I didn't know the number of the refills I needed. For $3 for the two of them, I figured I would take a chance. They are the ones I need. Yay!   I was happy to find that. Last week when we were in there, I found a little mini notebook that I really liked. They had another so I got it too. They had a HUGE pencil/pen zipper case and I got it and it was $2. Nice!  I also found a cool kit that scores and cuts paper to make envelopes. I am so happy with that find. Price? $3! Yes!

At Mayodan, I found a small brown leather Fossil bag, a S'ip bottle with Doxies on it. A couple of t-shirts, a green Starbucks mug, and a ceramic North Carolina Starbucks tumbler. Nice!  Here are a few of the mentioned items: PXL_20220415_031727239.MP

In the picture of the envelope maker, you can see a cute little mini envelope I made to test it out. It works so well and it's going to be great to use. No more boring envelopes for my pen pals! LOL

Oops

So, guess who watched the entire third season of Sailor Moon Crystal last night and today? Yup, me. :p SO good. Now I have to see the movies. Ahhh. Of course,
they are on Netflix and I don't have it. I'm hoping my friend will let me watch on his. I want to see them.  Crystal was so well done. I hope the movies are as good.

In other news, we did our usual small thrift today.  Just Reidsville. I found a few things but my favorite is a lamp I found. It's actually a kids lamp as I found out after looking it up on Amazon, but I don't care. It's so cute! Here is the picture from Amazon:

Screen Shot 2022-03-01 at 8.25.09 PM

It's just that cute!  It's no longer being sold on Amazon, so I have no idea what it cost new, but I got it for $5.00!  Very cute and I love the colors. If you can't tell, the lampshade is faux fur! :p   My other finds were some blank labels (for making return address labels), a Starbucks mug, a sleep mask, and a pretty glass with daisies painted on it.  Not a huge haul, but I fun one.  I need to write a bit more as I haven't written as much as I planned today. With thrifting and watching Sailor Moon, I didn't get enough time. Oh! I did run to Starbucks for my traditional first-of-the-month visit. Now, I'm going to relax and possibly write some more. If not, it's not a huge deal as I DID write some today. One of my resolutions for 2022 was to write every day even it was just a few lines. :)

Thrift Tuesday

I have no idea how I forgot about yesterday, but here we are. I DID make two trips to recycle so that might have finished me off. :p  We went to Reidsville and only thrifted there. Salvation Army and Goodwill. We ate while there too at a local place. It was yummy!  At Salvation Army, I found two candles, a cool handmade soap, It's from a place called Joy Bunny Soap and the bar I got is Karma. It smells nice!  I found a German Coca Cola glass, too! I also found two pouches. One is a pencil/pen planner type pouch and the other is a make up fold up type deal.  Cute finds. I have another pencil/planner pouch exactly like this one that I bought on Amazon. This one is just another color. I couldn't pass it up for .99¢.

At Goodwill I found a nice Starbucks mug, a cute jack o lantern 'bottle', a Life's a Beach hangee, and a cool Super Mario backpack! :D  All in all a good haul for the two stores.  Yes, I took pictures of everything to share.  Here we go!

Oops!

I never meant to stop posting. I actually meant to try to post more regularly this year. D'oh!  I was going to post this last night, but I was extremely tired, felt like crap, and just wanted to relax. I even went to be early!  I'm feeling a lot better today, so I thought I would try to get a blog post out so maybe I could get back in the habit of it! My city and area is under a winter storm advisory. It's gone from a dusting to up to 12 inches, to 3 inches, to 6 inches, etc. Who knows what we'll actually get? :p  I am prepared in case. I have my power box thing ready and I'm charging another one I have too. I also have candles set aside, Sterno, and my little Sterno stoves. I'm ready in case we do have a power outage. My one power thingee is almost fully charged, but I cannot figure out where in the heck I put its charging cord. ARGH!  I'll look again later. I was getting frustrated looking earlier. I'm going to relax until lunch, eat that and then look again.

Yesterday, my friend and I went on a thrift trip yesterday. It has been a while! We went to Reidsville and then to Walkertown and Mayodan.  We ate at a little restaurant in Reidsville and then went to Goodwill. We'd already visited the Salvation Army store.  I only got a little green dish, a Starbucks mug, and a little hook thing in there. Of these items, only the green dish will be in the picture below!  After eating, we went to Goodwill. I found a nice Fossil wallet for $1.99 so I got it.  We then headed to Walkertown. They usually have a LOT of stuff in certain areas, but they were very limited on items in those areas. My friend and I figured either someone came in and bought a ton of stuff or they tossed a bunch of stuff out.  It was a big difference. Weird.  I only got three pouches there, two identical ones with cute cacti and a glittery one from Seattle. I also got a little case that had Mtn. Dew on it and it had a pair of earbuds in it and a car charger. Neat!! All but one of the Cactus pouches are in the picture below!

We went to Mayodan last and I was finding things left and right. lol I found two brand new lamps still in the box.  I also found a selfie ring light. I had been looking at them on Amazon to use for filming unboxing, and taking pictures of things I buy to make a brighter picture since the lighting in my house sucks. It was $3 and it had the phone holder, tripod, and power cord/usb charger. Nice! It's not pictured in the photo below but it was used to take all the pictures. :p  I also got a set of two cute Penquin Starbucks mugs, 2020 The year of the Introvert mug, a cute SakRoots wallet (brand new with the strap still with it), a cute candle, and a vintage Jeopardy board game. Great haul. It was a fun trip and we ate in Reidsville on our way back through at Pete's Burgers and More one of my favorite places!  I made a cute spread in my DPC journal as a memory page of the finds.  As I said before, not everything is shown, but it is the majority of my items.

Thrift

Cute, yes? I love my DPC planner and all my thrift goodies!

Thrift...

Well, my friend wanted to celebrate being off for the next couple of weeks, so we went to eat. We ate at a favorite local place and then traveled to Yanceyville, NC (about 15 miles) and went to the Goodwill there.  I got a pen set, a set of planner clips (at least I think that is that they are for), a strand of Halloween lights, and two Starbucks things! :) A burnt orange colored 16oz tumbler from 2014 and a 16 oz Valentimes mug from 2019.  The tumbler is a bit worn, but still serviceable and the mug looks like it's never been used. I took a picture of them and you can see the retro mug I mentioned from yesterday in the picture:

PXL_20211218_005014103

I'm happy with my finds.  It was very unexpected for us to go out again today, but I'm glad we did. I love finding more things to add to my Starubkcs collection.  One day, I'll take all my tumblers and mugs and photograph them all. That should be fun! :P

Thrifting is fun!

I got some great things today! I found a Sak bag, a Fossil bag, two Starbucks mugs, and the cutest Starbucks ceramic tumbler EVER. It's so damn cute! It's from 2015 and you'll see it below.  I got various other things, too! One of the neat finds was a Ziploc bag of vintage iron-on patches still in the original packaging! Very, very cool! Here are some of my finds and a cute tree at one of the Goodwill stores:

You can click on any picture to see the entire thing.  I love my finds!

Thrifting post a day late.

I sat down to make this post last night and got distracted. I don't even know what distracted me, now.  We went to Reidsville and went to Salvation Army and Goodwill.  I was able to find a Coca-Cola crate at Salvation Army. I already have two, so I was happy to add another. I also got a stamper, a little tray, and some stickers. The tray was neat. It hs the Eiffel tower on it and it's got French writing on it. Very cute.

At Goodwill, I found a clear Starbucks cold cup and a tumbler.  I also found a little pack of four mini notebooks and a silicon tray with pumpkins. I'm guessing either for candy or ice cubes. I'm going to use it for pumpkin ice cubes. :) We got back to Danville and went to one of the Goodwill stores here.  I found a red and white Starbucks holiday mug and another small pack of stickers. Decent haul for all. Here are the Starbucks things:

Thrift yesterday? :p

Yes, I totally forgot to post yesterday.  It's bad especially since I said I would try to post more.  So, what did I get?  A few good things. In the Salvation Army, I found a steal!  I have been wanting one of those receipt scanners for a while now. They are so expensive! I saw one in Salvation Army and opened the box to look. The scanner was still in the plastic!  I bought it and it was complete. The software, cord, and literature were there and it was brand new.  I was able to get the latest software online and install it. I plugged it and it was a go! It works. I'm very pleased with it. It's an older model but it works great and it's very small and portable. Here it is:

PXL_20210819_015325310~2

I love it! We went to Goodwill and I found a box of assorted pencils and crayons in a nice reusable box. I also picked up two mugs.  A Starbucks one and a Bee one.

PXL_20210819_020916438

The angle is odd on this. The Starbucks cup looks tiny but it's not. It was a short trip, only two stores, but I am glad we went. That little scanner is so cute! I can save receipts (or anything for that matter) as a .png file or a .pdf file on my computer.  I'm going to add a notebook in Evernote for receipts. Another great use for Evernote. ^_^

I'm not dead!

I am so sorry for not posting in so long. I don't know how the time got away from me. I was thinking it had only been about a week, it's been almost two! D'oh!  There have been a few thrift trips since I last posted.  I found some goodies as always.  I realized my Starbucks tumbler collection was growing at an incredible rate, so i decided to do something about it!  I have a china hutch in a room in my house that was full of miscellaneious dishes.  I cleared those out and it now holds the majority of my Starbucks tumbler collection. There are still about 10 that I didn't put in.  I also did put in mugs or ceramic tumblers.  It looks nice and there is plenty of room for more. I put the French press in there, too! (The Starbucks one of course)

I have been writing on my Camp NaNoWriMo work and have long since past the 50,000 mark.  I am trying to decide what I'm going to do for actual NaNoWriMo in November. I have been re-reading some of the last zombie book I wrote and I may right the next book in that series. I just have to figure out what happens next.

Again, sorry for not posting in so long. I have been enjoying the heck out of digital planning and I adore eerything I have gotten from DPCDigitals. Either the freebies or the things I've bought.  I get to use my one month planner I bought from them on Sunday. Yay!  I will try to remember to put a link to them in my links on the sidebar.  If you are new to Digital planning, they are the best. You can get so many freebies and their stuff in their Etsy store is very reasonably priced. Check them out!
