Happy Holidays

I’m glad that is over!  I walked today and it was weird to see everything closed.  I got to see a few cute dogs along my walk. :). I also stopped by the neighbor’s house and loved on Zeus the dog.  He is such a sweetie pie. All I wanted to do after my walk was to come home, put on my give up on life pants and do absolutely nothing.  Sadly, I didn’t get to do that!  I was expected to go to my friend’s house to eat.  I got to see all my favorite pups, though! Cocoa, Daisy, and the demon dog Ceaser. Lol. I also saw Percy and a sweet Roxie!  Roxie at one point, climbed in an chair and onto the kitchen table. LOL!  She is such a silly!  I snuggled her a bunch.

I ate and stayed a bit and then came home.  They made me feel bad because they gave me gifts and I just didn’t have the money to buy any this year.  I got a cute Intuitions bracelet, a grocery store gift card and a Starbucks gift card.  I stayed a bit after eating and then headed home.

I waited until dark and then went to my car. I did my tradition of going down Riverside drive and seeing everything closed.  I also went to a few neighborhoods to see lights, but not a lot of people decorated.  When I was a child, most everyone decorated.  Not so much now.  Oh well.  I did that and came home.  Sheets was open (convenience store that has made to order food) but they were BUSY.  I knew they would be and hadn’t planned to go anyway! I didn’t take my extra key so I couldn’t have anyway.

Sunday Starbucks!

I truly wanted to go to Starbucks today and take my laptop and get in my NaNoWriMo writing in.  With my car acting up like it did on Friday, I decided that if my car would start at home, it would probably be a good idea to NOT turn it off until I got home! lol  I drove over to Starbucks and decided that I would get something different.  I got a Peppermint white mocha.  I hadn't had one in ages.  I had forgotten how good they are, but I also had forgotten how sweet they are.  Yowza! LOL . It was delicious, though!

I came straight home from there.  I have been doing chores.  I got in my walk today at my usual time.  I decided to wash my hair earlier in the day so I had to warm up some water. lol . Since it was cold and my water heater is 'off' at the moment, I did NOT want to wash my hair in cold water.  While I was folding and putting away a small load of laundry, I put a pot on the stove and filled it with water.  After I got the clothes folded and put away, the water was nice and warm.  I used it to wash my hair over the sink.  that way, I didn't have to use it straight from the faucet and freeze my poor head off. :p . I got that done and then immediately went to my room and dried it.  I walk around with a wet head in summer, but not in the fall when it's only in the low 50's!

I have my bed linen in the dryer and I'm pretty sure it's done and ready to go back on the bed, but I haven't gotten that far yet.  I've done my French lesson and I'm doing my blog post now.  Once I get the bed linen back on the bed, I only need to do my writing for today's NaNo.

I did some work in my current bullet journal today too. I already had this coming week's layout done, so I did the next week's.  I'll l have to put in my December habit tracker soon.  I'll do that later today or in a few days.  It's just the 18th, so I have some time!

I'm still finding great crime shows on Prime, but they are short. Usually it's just one season or so of a show.  I have a lot of them loaded up so I should be okay for awhile in any case.  I hope they add more shows.  I love true crime!

35,000 words are a go!

Yes, I hit the 35,000 word mark tonight for NaNo!  It was a good writing day.  I actually wrote almost 2500 today.  Today was a lot less stressful than yesterday! I got in a good walk.  It wasn't too cold but it wasn't really warm either.  It was nice for walking, though.  I got in my walk and then came home and relaxed for a bit. I didn't go back out.  I thought about it, but I didn't want to risk my car doing what it did yesterday.  I might try to go to Starbucks tomorrow afternoon, but I haven't decided yet. We'll see how I'm feeling.

I went down in my basement today because i don't have hot water again.  There was a lot of water down there, so there will be no hot water again for a few days.  I'll try to be patient and go down there again in four or five days.  It needs to go down a lot before I'll be able to do anything. I am trying to think of more trackers to put in my 2019 bullet journal.  If you have any idea, leave me a comment below!  I thought of a tracker / list today.  I'll put down major purchases and when I got them and where.  So say, a dryer, what date I got it and what store. It will be a good reference.  I also add some small appliances to it too.  Just to keep a list of things and when they were purchased. Of course the MacBook Pro will go on there!  Now, I just need to think up some other trackers to add!

Good Grief!

What a day.  I actually got to walk today and that was nice.  I came home and did some things around the house while waiting on a package.  The package was a Logitech wireless keyboard that I've wanted since last year's NaNo!  I ordered it two days ago on Amazon and it came today.  It's nice and I'm actually typing on it now.  I will use it mainly for my phone and tablet, but it's working grewat with my MacBook Pro.  it isn't working at all with my tablet at the moment.  I am going to work on that and see if I can't get it to work later.

When I was at Target the other week, I saw some laptop sleeves.  They were marked down to less than $5 and they were for a 11" size laptop. My MBP is 13 inch, so it wouldn't do me any good.  The keyboard is about that size though and I thought it would make a good case to keep it in when I'm not using it.  It's a snug fit, but it fits.  It will be good to have protection for it when not in use.  So, I go back to my car and try to start it to drive home.  No go.  I try a few more times and still nothing.  I waited awhile and tried again.  Nope.  Also, all of my attempts at trying to start it ran the battery down. ~_~;  Luckily, I had a friend come and give me a jump.  It started right up and I was able to get home.  While I was waiting for all this, I went back in Target and got a Cascara latte!  I was going to get one when I was in there but there was a line.  I decided I'd stop at the regular one on my way home.  I knew I wasn't going to stop again or not go straight home after I got my car started, so I just went in Target and got my latte.  They were out of almond milk and it wasn't as good as it usually is.  Oh well, it was something good and hot to drink. It was a bit chilly outside sitting in a car that wouldn't start!

So, I'm home now.  I have to do NaNo. I haven't done that yet.  I will work on that after I eat dinner.  I have no idea what I'm going to fix for dinner.  I guess I'll find out when I fix it. LOL . I did some more on my 2019 bullet journal.  I drew in lines on the rest of the trackers that needed them.  I also filled in my board game tracker. It looks so good! I love it! I hope to do a video and take some pictures of all the work I did on it soon.  Oh, I also fell in love with the blue Stabilo pen that I used to set up a lot of it.  It was also the pen I used to set up this year's NaNo tracker.  I looked online to see if I could order some of just this color of pens.  I found a site that had them for .60 each! I got five. LOL . I plan to use that color throughout the year in 2019 in that bujo.  I'll keep using the pen I have and put one of the new ones in my Stabilo roll that I got earlier this year.  The other three are backups. :P

Now, I need to start thinking about dinner and then getting prepared for NaNo.  I am really liking the feel of this keyboard. I might be using it tonight!–

Late start, but wow! :P

I didn't get to sit down and write for NaNo until just a while ago.  I hadn't planned to start so late today.  Why so late?  Well, let's see.  I walked as I always do.  I stopped by one place to see about after Halloween candy. :p . I got four bags of Halloween candy for 50% off. WHOO! lol . I got two bags of individual Reese's. YUM I also got two bags of this 'nut lovers' collection.  It has Mr. Goodbar, Hershey with Almond, Take 5, Paydays, and Reeses.  I was so happy to find this collection.  I usually don't find a collection of stuff that I like everything in the bag.  This is one where I like them all.I have a lot of goodies to snack on during NaNo. Yay!  It's funny that I got so many Reese's my main character, Sophie, LOVES peanut butter cups.  :P

So, I got my candy.  They also had some fuzzy 'at home' socks at the register for $1 a pair. I adore fuzzy socks, so I got three pair. lol . I came and had to sample my candy. :p . My friend texted and said he was coming straight from work and we'd go eat.  He said we'd eat quickly. I thought, great.  That way I can get home and write.  Well, we ate and it wasn't as quick as he said. lol He also had to pick up a few things at the dollar store.  He got me some chips and vitamins though.  Then, he got himself a milkshake.  When we does, he usually asks if I want a Frappe.  I did! :P . I rode with him to the grocery store.  He ran in for a couple of things and then ran him by his mom's.  He was in there a lot longer than he planned, so I didn't get some until much later than I had planned.  Oh well, I sat changed into comfy clothes and sat down.  I wrote 1942 words so that is just fine!  I don't think I'm going to add anymore tonight.  I need to pack up and put away my Halloween decorations and that is going to take a while..  lol . I have sooo many!

So, NaNo is off to a great start, I have snacks and I actually got a good start.  When I got home from my walk today, I finished re-reading the send half of book two.  I was ready to go when I sat down.  Now, I'm going to get my Halloween decorations put away.  Well, the ones that I don't keep up year round!  I also need to do my French, and then I'm going to fix dinner and read.  I started another true crime book last night.  This one is about Marie Hilley.  I've seen her story on Unsolved Mysteries and some of the true crime shows.  I'm looking forward to reading the book. She was a piece of work!

I used Scrivener for day one and I love it!  Bean is a great program, and I am grateful to have had it these last two years, but I know I'm going to enjoy Scrivener a lot!

Good news for a change!

So, the Visa gift cards came through today and I added them to my Paypal account.  I find that I can't move the money from them into my account. DOH!  So, I go online and look for solutions.  I took them off my Paypal account and then invoice myself at a different email address from my Paypal account.  I was able to use them as Visa and send myself the money.  I lost some in the fees, but I now have enough in my Paypal account to cover the bill when it hits.  Thank goodness.  I am so relieved.  That takes a lot off of me.  I can pay it back in payments and get it paid.  I'm just so relieved, you just don't know!

I walked today.  When I first got up, it was overcast and I thought, uh oh! I'm going to be walking in the rain.  Luckily, the sun came out by the time I left for my walk.  No rain for today's walk. Yay!  I am glad to get back in my routine.  Now, I just need to get back into doing my workouts! :p

I checked Informed Delivery for my post office box snd there is a letter in there from someone I haven't written before.  I'm thinking it's probably from a new pal. Yay!  I may run down there later and pick it up. I have a few more things in my box.  I think that is the only letter, though.  I think I should go get my mail and stop at Starbucks to get a treat for myself.  I have several freebies on my Starbucks card. ^_^

There's a Hurricane a Comin'

In the words of Sophia Petrillo, there is indeed "A hurricane a comin'".  It's headed for the east coast.  Myrtle Beach, which I just left on Sunday has already 'shut down' so to speak.  A lot of things are closed.  The Gay Dolphin closed at 1:30 today and plans to be closed until after the storm.  They dismantled the Sky Wheel.  I saw some pictures of the Boardwalk area that a local MB photographer posted and it is utterly deserted.  Places that are always open are boarded up.  It's sad.  I hope everything down there comes through safely.  It was SO weird seeing those places that usually have a ton of people around being totally deserted.

The hurricane is also supposed to affect my area even though I'm way inland.  The city is already preparing and sending out alerts ahead of time.  I have some bread and stuff to make sandwiches in case we lose power.  I also went tonight to the dollar store and got some snacks to have on hand. I got an extra package of tea lights, some batteries, and some ibuprofen.  I just needed that on general principles, not because of the hurricane! I finished my last bottle at the beach.

I plan to walk as long as I can.  If we get the heavy rains and winds later this week, I will not be walking.  It will be dangerous out there.  If we still have power, I can always use the treadmill.  I also have some bottled water and other things if I need them.  The stores here are crazy.  I am glad I got my stuff yesterday because they said today was worse.  I was lucky to get two cases of water yesterday.  From what I've heard, it's sold out all over the city.  I always buy bottled water.  I almost didn't get any because the shelf was empty yesterday.  Luckily, they had a pallet of it that they were putting out and I got two cases.  I could have gotten more, but two will get me through the hurricane time and I can get more later when there are more supplies.

I walked today and it was pretty toasty!  I was hoping it would be cooler, but no.  I was glad to get back to it.  I didn't do my workouts, though. ^^;  I'll get back to that soon, too.   A friend came by to do some patching work on my roof.  My roof leaks a lot when it rains and with all the rain we are expected to get, it might get crazy in my house!  Hopefully what he did will help.  I have containers ready just in case.

I would like to go to the grocery store and get some bananas and some almond butter, but I am scared of how crazy it will be in there.  I should have gotten the almond butter when i was in there yesterday, but I didn't.  I will look and see how crazy it is when I walk tomorrow.  If it doesn't look too bad, I'll try to slip in and get those two things.  If not, I do have a lot of other things I can fix.

Those snacks that I bought today are in a container and they are tempting, but they are going to stay in that container until this weekend.  I got some good stuff, too.  Nabs, cookies, candy, etc.  Yum!

Afternoon post!

Sorry about no early morning post . I actually slept until my Fitbit alarm went off at 10:30.  That was nice for a change.  I did wake up a few times, but I didn't get up except to go to the bathroom.  I went for one last walk today.  I went to 17 and waked to the Dollar Tree.  I got some things there and headed back here.  I stopped at McDonald's and got myself a Frappe.  It was quite tasty!  Now, I'm back in the room and I'm cooling off before we go out.  We are going out in a while to go to the one Goodwill we haven't gone to, and a pawn shop he wants to go to.  I'm also hoping we can get to a Tuesday Morning.  I didn't get to look as long as I would have liked when we went the other night.

I want to go to Broadway at the Beach to see the Kwik-e Mart that they just opened recently.  Not sure if we will make it on this trip or not.  I just want to try to get in as much as possible since this is our last full day here!  I'm going to go out on the balcony and look at the ocean for awhile.  Hopefully pokey will get ready to go!

What is life?

So, it was almost sometime around 4 am last night when I finally got to bed.  I was not feeling it today at all!  I got up at my regular time and did my regular routine though.  It's ridiculously hot.  We had a few days where it wasn't too bad and I was thinking, good, fall weather is coming.  Nope, it's still full summer here. UGH!  I hate to come home soaked to the skin with sweat.  It's gross.

I took a rest and cooled off after I got home and then did my workouts.  I was working on my French when my friend texted and said we were going to eat.  I figured I could do my French later. :P . We at at a local Italian restaurant that we really like.  It's great food and it's not expensive.  We usually share a pizza.  My half is alway pepperoni. YUM!  After that, we swung by his house.  He had some frozen sandwiches to give me and he ordered a key for my treadmill and it came today.  He also had a houseplant on his porch!

His stepdad died a week or so ago and his place of work sent a plant.  He let me take it home. Yay!  It's got Pothos, Peace Lily and three other plants in it.  It's very pretty.  I just have to find the perfect spot to put it in.  He came in with me to make sure the treadmill worked.  It did! Yay! I only got on it for a few minutes for a test run.  I don't have any fans in there yet and it was stifling hot in there.  I hope to get some fans next month on end of the season sales!  I really need some anyway.  It would be nice to have some for other parts of the house so I'm not dying in them.

I hope it's is a little cooler tomorrow for my walk.  It's just brutal out there.  It makes me want to just stay home in my air conditioned room and never leave!

Ooh, nice!

I wanted to changed the area next to my desk.  I had an old cabinet that held VHS tapes and I put my printer and modem on the top of it. I wanted more room to organize stuff, so I went looking for something.  I got a little cubical. I put it together and realized I wanted another to sit beside it.  I went back and got another.  They were easy to put together and I love them!  It gives me a lot more room to store things in.

It looks exactly like this except I took the bluetooth keyboard off the bottom shelf and put it somewhere else.  I also put down a rug.  My floor is pretty messed up in that spot.  I plan to get some wood cleaner/conditioner and go over that spot.

I really like this little set.  I have a larger 9 opening cubical in another part of my room.   These things are handy.  You can use them for decorating or as a book shelf.  In my case, both! ^_^
