Tuesday thrift

My friend and I went on our usual Tuesday thrift, but with a twist. We went to a few other cities too. We went to Reidsville first, as always. We ate there and then went to Salvation Army. I found two mugs, one Starbucks and one vintage mug. I also found a nice black Fossil purse. At Goodwill, I found a cute Paris-themed kitchen set (hot pad and hot glove), a cute little ornament, and a small zipper pouch. I'm going to use it for earbuds.  We went to Eden and I found a pouch that was FULL of pens/pencils and various items. Just look at how much they jammed in this pouch for $4

PXL_20220823_215354458

There are so many pens and pencils. Also some tape, a glue stick, paperclips, binder clips, Post-it flags, Post-it minis, and a nice stapler. All this for $4. Not bad, eh? We also went to the Salvation Army there too and I got a Happy Planner (without the discs). The last thing I got was a 2011 Starbucks tumbler. A It was a good little trip.

Thrift fun!

My friend and I went on our usual Tuesday thrift trip. We added Eden NC to the mix since we planned to eat there. I'm glad we did because I found three, yes three Fossil handbags in there. :D I also found a Sony Walman that has TV/Weather/Radio. Neat. It was a whole ninety cents. Score! It works too! The only thing missing is the little clip but I'm not too concerned about that.  I haven't really played with it a lot, but I did confirm that it works. I've only tried out the FM band. I found a manual pdf online so I am going to play with it more in a bit. Here is that little guy:

PXL_20220810_002207504~2

In Reidsville, I found a few cute things. At Salvation Army, my favorite was a Pac-man glass from the '80s! SCORE! It's heavy glass and it's in great shape!

PXL_20220810_001955128~2

Cool, yes? At Goodwill there, I found two Starbucks items. A plastic tumbler and a mug. Here they are:

All in all a good thrifting trip. :). There were other things. A scanner thing that I need to research and learn more about. (I will update if I remember), a cute leather coin purse shaped like a dog from Hawaii, and a box with a Hemmingway quote. All in all, fun finds. The box with the quote has pens and pencils on top. It's heavy, not sure what it's made of.

It actually came!

I checked the iPad this morning as I did every day since I ordered my item and it actually said it was out for delivery! :D I was so happy and so shocked. I really didn't think it was ever coming!  It came.  I wanted to do a photoshoot of it, but I wasn't able to today. My friend had texted and wanted to know if I wanted to go a couple of places, but I said I couldn't because the package I've been waiting for years on (seems like it) was coming today and hadn't been delivered yet.  I had planned to do an unboxing video and everything!  Well, since we didn't go anywhere, he was nice enough to bring me some food from KFC. (that sammich is the bomb!) He was here when the mail came. I got my package in, but I didn't open it until after he left and by then, it wasn't light enough out to get a good photoshoot.  I did take a picture in my room in my crappy lighting though. :p So, what is the mystery goodie I ordered myself? A traveler's notebook.  I've been wanting a traditional A5 size TN that would hold some of my largersized notebooks. I saw this one and fell in love with the color and design.  I wasn't sure until it actually got here if the notebooks would work as the dimensions weren't lining up but they did fit! :)  I am also going to make a slip of paper to carry in my purse that I can compare to notebooks with I find them in stores. I do occasionally come across these little notebooks.  Right now, it has three in it and it's made to have four, but I think that will make it too chunky.  I have a charm on it. It's a keychain that I got from Myrtle Beach and modified and made into a charm. It's very cute!  The color of the TN in person was darker than the pictures on the website, but I like it. It's so soft and it smells sooooo good.  Here is the picture, remember, it's not the greatest as it's in poor lighting:

PXL_20211215_001250245

There it is without the charm. D'oh! Here it is with the charm. :p

PXL_20211215_010515807

The little star was filled with copper-colored glitter, I took it out and put pink and blue in there. I thought it was a nice addition.  Of course, the cork broke and I had to find a way to replace it.  The second picture is more what it looks like on the website and the color I wanted, it's more like the first picture in person, but again, I have crappy lighting, so...   The color is pink and grey according to the Etsy listing. The grey to me is more blue grey than grey so that makes me happy as I love blue.  It's a gorgeous TN!

Sunday

Yes, it's Sunday and I did my usual. I washed my hair and my bed linen so they would both be clean! :p I also paid all my bills, got lunch out while doing errands, and bought two cute sets of Halloween stickers from DPC Digitals. I love all over her stuff. It's all so cute! I am going to import them into GoodNotes after I get the linens back on the bed. That is next on today's to-do list.  I would have liked to toss a nap in somewhere but I didn't! I also wrote a bunch today. I was on a roll. I love when that happens. I wrote 3712 words. Whoo hoo!

Friday afternoon / early evening post

Hoo boy am I tired. I decided to walk to the Pavilion area today.  It's been a LONG time since I walked that much. I was hurting coming back, let me tell you! LOL I walked to the beginning of the boardwalk and walked it down to the Pavilion area. I went in the Gay Dolphin and bought a cute shirt and a few stickers/decals.  I then walked across the street to I love Sugar.  I wanted bulk nerds. Guess what they didn't have? WAH!!!!!!!! lol, I wanted my damn Nerds! I did get some of the little Cotton candy-flavored candies that I like a few random things to try. I love bulk candy. Goodness, gracious! :p

I went to the first Starbucks that I came to, the one in the Bay View Resort.  I got a caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino and it was delicious! I was able to pick up a few cards I didn't have, too.  I went to the Oceanfront Starbucks but I didn't get anything in there today.  I just wanted to visit. I saw a water bottle that I adored at the Bay View and was going to buy it at the Ocean Front one, but they didn't have it. Oh well, I'll get one or something else I love. :P

I walked back along the Boardwalk and then when I got to the end, I took off my shoes and gave my poor feets a break, and walked in the surf back to the hotel. That was nice and my feet were much happier with me! It was nice to walk in the daytime as so far, I've only been on the beach at night.  I still will go tonight, but you know how it is! :P I took a lot of pictures and I'll share some here. Maybe I'll do a complete Google photo album of the trip when I get home. For now, enjoy these pictures I took along the way.

Thrifting is fun!

I got some great things today! I found a Sak bag, a Fossil bag, two Starbucks mugs, and the cutest Starbucks ceramic tumbler EVER. It's so damn cute! It's from 2015 and you'll see it below.  I got various other things, too! One of the neat finds was a Ziploc bag of vintage iron-on patches still in the original packaging! Very, very cool! Here are some of my finds and a cute tree at one of the Goodwill stores:

You can click on any picture to see the entire thing.  I love my finds!

Sigh, so much for staying home on my birthday!

I went over to Starbucks to get my birthday drink. As I'm leaving the drive-thru, my friend texts me.  I had been re-considering doing a thrifting trip today. I decided to go for it! We went to Reidsville, Walkertown, and Mayodan. I got a vintage General Electric tape recorder! :)  I also two two Starbucks tumblers. One a sparkly hot or cold tumbler and one a venti cold cup.  I was happy to find these as they were in wonderful condition.  I also found a Kate Spade handbag! @[email protected]; I'm not sure it's genuine, but I think it is, I'll have to research tomorrow. It looks just like a real one I found via a search. It's not really my style bag, but it was a Kate Spade! :p

Other things I got were a bag of scrunchies, an 'art' kit, a container with some various markers, a glittery jack o lantern, 2 pairs of fuzzy socks and one pair of striped knee-high socks (all new), an adulting note pad, and a pack of inserts for a Happy Planner. Oh, also two sets with a pen and a pad of matching notes.  Not a bad haul.  Here are the cups:

Nice, yes?  Here is the Kate Spade bag:

Thursday Evening Post

We went out and went to a few places.  We drove down to Pawley's Island! I've never been, so that was pretty cool. We went to a GW boutique (Goodwill only higher-end items), a Salvation Army, and a Tuesday Morning. I got stuff in all three. :p  We ate in Murrell's Inlet on the way back up at a place called Judy Boone's kitchen. It was pretty good, too!  We came back up to Myrtle and went to the Tuesday Morning here.  We have been back to the room for some time now.  I have sat down and paid bills, and now I'm typing this up.  My phone is currently on charge.  We went by a Starbucks in Pawley's Island and my friend stopped so I could go in! This was right before we were headed to eat, so I didn't get a drink, but I got more cards I needed and a new tumbler. :p  Oops. Hee hee.

PXL_20210603_203149467.MP

That is the Starbucks we stopped by. Very nice location and I have a new one to add to my list! Joy!

Wednesday evening post

Hello there! We just got back to the room about an hour ago.  We got a lot of thrifting done.  We've been to five Goodwill stores, one Salvation Army, one beach store, and Tuesday Morning!  I didn't get a lot at the Goodwill stores. I got a little metal sign and a pouch in the one at NMB.  At the one off 501 I got a tote bag with a Corgi on it. I also got a clock radio in there for the room.  The room doesn't have one and this one is small and cute so it works and I can bring it on trips since it's small.

The Conway Goodwill I bought some shoes, and then at the one on Loyola, I got a Jack O' lantern and something else but I cannot remember what it was! Umm... yeah, no clue! I just remembered! It was a vintage radio/cassette player (knockoff Walkman)  The last Goodwill we went to at Murrell's Inlet, I got a vintage Rook card game.  I didn't buy anything at the Salvation Army.  I passed up on a Fossil bag, too! It was one that I wouldn't carry, so I was easy to pass up.

At Tuesday morning, I got a little TN, a two-pack of notebooks, and a pack of neon/pastel fineliners.  Everything was on clearance too! :) At the beachwear store (Beach Life) I got a shirt and a sticker. My friend got me another shirt so I got two. Yay!  After we left the Loyola GW, we went to the Cookout that is down the road. While my friend went through the drive-thru line, I walked over to Starbucks! I got a pretty rainbow tumbler and some cards I didn't have.  I also got a peppermint white mocha. Yummy! Here are some pictures that aren't just beach. :p

As you can see in the first picture, it got really dark in Conway.  I took this picture.  The second picture was of the waterfall at one of the miniature gofl places down here. I thought it was pretty.

Friday fun with thrifting.....

So, I thought my friend and I were not going to thrift today. He had the day off and didn't mention it so I was settled in at my desk ready to spend the day on my Mac and write and just enjoy my day.  He had texted me earlier this morning and didn't mention going, so I thought that was that. He texted around 2 this afternoon and mentioned going. I really wanted to just stay at home, but I agreed to go.  I dressed and went out and washed off Goontz.  It's pollen season and my Goontz had a layer of yellow/green pollen all over.  I got that done and then waited for my friend.  He came and we went to Reidsville. He ate at Bojangles and then went to the Salvation Army store.  I found a Sony clock radio for $2, a pack of Post-it note page flags, (Well two packs), and a package of pretty napkins. Don't judge me! lol  We went to the Goodwill and I only found one item. It's a Jack o lantern metal candle holder that originally came from Bath and Body Works. It was very cute and caught my eye so I got it.

We then went to the Goodwill in Walkertown NC. I found a little purple jack o lantern candle holder in there.  I also found a very nice little cabinet/stand. Here is a picture.  It still has the letter stickers from where it was assembled and the price sticker.  It was only $8 and I am not sure where I'm going to put it, but it's in excellent condition. The drawer works well and the shelf is adjustable.

Point Blur_Apr162021_225035

It will be a nice addition to my house.  I just have to figure out where I'm going to use it!  We went to Mayodan after that and I only found two things.  A disk holder and a sleep mask.  The disk holder is a Fellows brand and it was for computer disks back in the day. It will be perfect to hold my specialty Starbucks cards.  I was going to search for one of these for that purpose and this one was there so I got it. It's in great shape, too! Speaking of Starbucks cards, several I ordered on eBay arrived today!  I was happy to get them. I only have one thing that I'm waiting on now and that is a Starbucks tumbler.  I saw it in-store when I went to the 'new' Starbucks in Greensboro and I knew I wanted it.  I decided to look on eBay. I knew I'd have to pay more for it, but I found one that was only a few dollars more with free shipping so that saves me trying to find it at the local Starbucks. :)

I forgot to mention that I found a Fossil purse at the Walkertown store but I had to pass it up as it was priced pretty high.  I was short on funds. My friend got the little cabinet for me. He would have gotten the purse too and let me pay him back for both, but I'm still doing monthly payments on the Docs! We went back to Reidsville before heading home and ate at Carmela's.

Friday fun?

Yes, I realize I didn't post last night.  Sorry about that.  I only went out once yesterday and that was to pick up a gardening bucket at Lowe's.  They have a promotion going through the month of April where you can go each week and get some things for free.  This week was a bucket with a bag of potting soil, plant food, gardening gloves, and seeds! Very cool! You can use the bucket and do container gardening or plant the seeds elsewhere.  I am not sure what next week's 'kit' will be, but this was very cool. While I was out, I called my bestie to see if she would like STarbucks.  She is recovering from Covid, so she can't really go out right now.  I took her a peppermint white mocha (her favorite) and place it outside her back door and hurried away! :p  I felt a little treat would be nice for her.  I got myself one, too! :p

Today, my friend and did a thrifting trip.  He did not get off at noon like he sometimes does on Friday, so we had to wait until he got off at 2:30.  We went to Greensboro and ate at Herbie's place.  They have breakfast all day and it's good, too!  We ate and then went to five Goodwill stores over there and we didn't even get to all of them!  I found some goodies, too!  Remember the Sak bag that I found at the beach and didn't get and then bought on eBay? The one I found in teal later and then had two?  Well, one of the Goodwill stores had it in purple!  Now I have three versions of that bag. :p  I also picked up another Sak bag in there that is blue. It was very pretty and in excellent shape.  I found two Starbucks things.  One at two different Goodwill stores.  One is a plastic 16oz tumbler and one is a lidded ceramic tumbler from the holiday collection in 2011! Very cool.  Here are those finds:

PXL_20210410_031217566

I have another green tumbler like this one that I bought in the store back in the early days of me going to Starbucks.  This one is just like it with a different design.  The ceramic was is nice and in perfect condition, not a nick or scratch on it!  Other finds today were a small paper cutter, some pens, a ream of printer paper for $2, a cute Mario Bros mushroom zipper case, three ceramic jack o lanterns and one big fabric 'bucket' jack o lantern, and a weather alert radio just like the one I found on the way home from the beach last year.  This is the same radio, only the newer model and it wax still in the box and had the manual. It will be nice to have backup or I could put it in another part of the house.  Speaking of weather alerts, it's storming here and the lightning was so intense I could see it through my blinds.  I was waiting for a loud BOOM!  I hope I don't lose power before I get this posted. Yikes! :P

In one Goodwill, I saw a pair of almost brand new Nike shoes and they were my color and they were in my size.  My friend bought them for me. Yay!  I love them and they'll probably replace my daily shoes. I even wore them for a bit after I got them to test them out.  Pretty comfy.  like Nike shoes so its was a nice thing to find.  I have one more picture to share.  I took a picture of the pretty little tree in the parking lot at Herbie's.  Here you go!

PXL_20210409_204615034.MP

Such a pretty little tree! :)  I forgot to mention that after we left one Goodwill and were headed to another, we passed a Starbucks that I'd never been to.  My friend asked if I wanted to stop, I said YES!!!!!!!!! lol, I got a peppermint white mocha again and was able to grab a stack of cards to add to my collection.  I also saw a Tumber I want. :p  I didn't get it, but it's on my 'want list' now.

Tuesday seems to be a thrift day......

So I was sitting at home on the laptop and my friend texted and asked if we were going to Reidsville today. I said sure if he wanted.  I got dressed and then went over to his house. He pulled up right after I did, so that was great timing.  We got on the road after he went in for a few and went to the Salvation Army store first.  I found a few things in there.  I found a removable purse organizer (can also be used for bullet journal organization), a clear zipper pouch for a binder, a puzzle,  a little Post-it note dispenser, and I think that was it.  My friend found a nice car phone holder and bought it for me.  We left there and went to Pete's to eat.  After Pete's, we went to the Goodwill. Wait, he ran by a music store first, and then we went to Goodwill.  At Goodwill, I found a Fossil bag, It's one of the Key.Per bags.  It still had its key and little 'charm' thingee, too! I also found a little wooden 'basket' with jack o lanterns on both ends, I got a mini lunchbox with snowmen on it, and a nice Kitchen Aid kettle. I've been meaning to buy a kettle and I saw this one and it's in great shape and the inside is very clean.  We left there and went back to Pete's and got ice cream before heading back to Danville.  We went to the two Goodwill stores here.  We went to the regular one and I only found one thing. It was a cute ceramic Jack o lantern.  We went to the other one.  Now, for this store, we went once several years ago and they were rude and really pissed me off and I haven't been back since. I decided to give them one more chance and we went tonight.  Luckily it was different people working and much nicer ones, too!  I got TWO Fossil bags!  I also found a CD, a little package of Jack O lantern bags/envelopes, and a little thing of notes that are shaped like A's, and the little container that holds them has A's on it too.  Very cute  It was a good thrift trip! I wasn't really expecting it. I thought he would want to skip it but he didn't.  I am glad he didn't. Three 'new' Fossil bags! :)  It seems like I am forgetting something but I can't remember what it is! I did write today. I actually got in a little over 2000 words! I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to do CampNaNoWriMo this year and if I do, what I'm going to do for it.  I don't have a lot of time left to figure it out!

I just remembered the other thing I got tonight. The GW I gave another chance to had clothes hangers 10 for $1 so I got one pack. I seem to always be out of hangers! So, that is it, the accounting of my day.  I am home and I'm going to get off this laptop as soon as I post this. I am going to relax a bit before bed and re-read what I wrote today.  I have two packages that I hope are coming tomorrow. One package has two DS games that I found on eBay and the other package is a set of styluses for it. The first order never came and the seller refunded me so I ordered another set on Amazon.  I know Ill get those!  The next thing I want to get for it is a replacement bottom screen and then a clear case for the outside but those can both wait.

Groceries!

I went to the grocery store today. I didn't really want to go out at all, but I needed some things in the house.  One of the things on my list was some milk and that is the one thing I forgot to get. D'oh! I went right up the aisle too! I got coffee creamer, but no milk  They actually had my favorite creamer in stock so I bought two! :p  I also got a few boxes of K-cups since they were on sale.

I got in and out pretty easily, I picked the right time to go, that is for sure. They weren't very busy at all. I like to go when it's like that.  It's so much easier and less stressful!  I am very happy to have that done. I still need to get milk, but I'll get it another time.  My friend texted tonight and he wants to go to Reidsville again tomorrow! That means a thrift trip. I hope I don't find a lot of things because I'm about to be broke.  We've thrifted a lot lately and it's catching up to me!

I wrote a little over 2000 words today!  Whoo-hoo!  I hope to write tomorrow too. Days where we thrift sometimes feel like they go by too fast.  I should be able to write some before he gets off work. He has to work to the regular time tomorrow and not get off at noon, so that will give me a little time. I plan to use it!

Hoo Boy!

What a thrifting trip that was! We started in Reidsville and went to the Salvation Army store and Goodwill. I found an Apple-branded cover for my iPad mini in there. It's light blue and I love it.  At Salvation Army, I got some cards, a snowman pin, a wallet, a CD, a cheese grater, and two packs of those cute little animal cable protectors.  We went from there to Wentworth NC and ate at a place called Mom's Kitchen.  We were looking forward to it. It was not great.  It was just.... I don't want to be mean, but it wasn't good. We won't be going back there.  We went from there to the Mayodan Goodwill that we recently discovered and I found a few things there.  A small Keurig k-cup holder (It fits under the little brewer in my room! LOL), a case (that will fit an external HD), a set of Tetris magnets, and a cute little Halloween ceramic thingee with a ghost, a tree, and little jack o lanterns.  We went on to a 'new' Goodwill in Walkertown NC.  I found a Sak bag exactly like the one I wanted at Myrtle that I bought on eBay. This one is the same bag but instead of being black, it's teal. I absolutely LOVE it.  I got that, a bit metal jack o lantern, a S'well bottle with donut design, a purple zipper pouch, a box of Ticonderoga pencils, and a Homer Simpson shirt! I can't wear it, it's way too small, but I had to have it! Lol

We left there and were heading to the Goodwill in Eden but we ended up going right past the one in Mayodan. They are constantly putting stuff out there so we stopped back in. I found some stampers and a cute crab plush.  I love crabs! He is red is so cute!  We then went to the Goodwill in Eden and I found a DS game! They had quite a few, but there was one that I was pretty sure I'd love. It was Crafting Mama!  I always adored the Cooking Mama games so I got this. It was still in the original case, too. That was $4. I was so happy to finally see some DS games and one I actually wanted! I'll try it later as I haven't been home long and I've been working on my writing.  I'm too tired to do it justice tonight so I've just been editing.

After Eden, we headed to our last stop, Martinsville, VA, and to the Goodwill there.  We ate again in Eden at a drive-up place.  That was much better than our lunch!  At the Martinsville Goodwill, I didn't find anything!  That was okay because I had already spent plenty.  I love all my finds. I'm so happy that I found that purse! I adore the black one so much and this is the same purse only in a cooler color. This once still has the Sak dangle thingee on it, too!

The CD I found in the Salvation Army in Reidsville is from the Vince Guaraldi Trio. It's all the music from the 1965 A Charlie Brown Christmas special  I just happened to see it while I was in line and snatched it up!  I've already ripped it to my MacBook Pro so I can enjoy it on here and on my iPod. I love the music from it.

I just looked up the cover I got for the iPad Mini. It sells new on the Apple store for $39.99! @[email protected]; I got it for $4.99. SCORE!!!! lol  I am pretty sure this will also fit any iPad Mini so if I get a newer one, I should be able to use it with those too. :) It was a good thrifting trip. I'll try to remember to take pictures tomorrow.  I need to move everything off my bed so I can actually sleep in it tonight. Plus, I want to try Crafting Mama!

Thursday again.

I actually know it's Thursday this week!  I got the hard drive returned today with my data.  They said they would put it on a drive the size of my data recovered.  I figured they would send a 1 GB drive as the stuff on it was a little less than that.  They send me a 4 GB drive with my files!  That was more than generous and I was extremely happy!  I finally cloned the drive my friend lent me and erased it to return it to him tomorrow.

As for tomorrow, we are doing a thrifting trip.  He sometimes gets off at noon on Friday and we are hoping he will tomorrow so we can do a few different places.  I'd love to make it to the Salvation Army since they were closed yesterday.  I'm also hoping to find some DS games and other goodies!  I wrote tonight and it was an emotional scene, so I only wrote a little over 1000 words. I'll probably edit it tomorrow and then write more. It was pretty good!

I remembered that today I had an offer from Starbucks that if you did order ahead, you would get a free drink loaded onto your card for a future purchase. It was for a Grande or Venti.  Guess what my dumb ass bought? Tall. ~_~; I realized my mistake when I got home.  Oh well.  I tried another new drink.  This was the Oatmilk honey latte.  I don't think I like it.  It wasn't horrible by any means, it just isn't something I would enjoy.  It's weird though, the more I drank it, the better it got? It was weird.  I don't know. I am desperately trying to find something to fill the void left by my cascara syrup being discontinued!

I hope to do a post tomorrow night about thrifting, but I might be too tired if we go to a bunch of places. I'll try to check in any way even if I have to do a write up of all the goodies I get on Saturday.  I am planning on staying home the entire weekend, so I can get writing, chores, and other things done!
