Trip recap!

I'm actually going to do one. Yay! I also hope to put a picture I pick at random from my beach pictures. Let's see, so, like I said, I only found out on Tuesday that we were going down that Thursday.  I spent Wednesday washing clothes and packing.  I didn't sleep worth a damn on Wednesday night so I was extremely tired Thursday when we got there.  We found our room very nice and clean. As I mentioned, it was a bit small, but it was perfectly fine.  10/10 we would both stay again.  That first night, we went to Victoria's to eat and then got a few groceries. We'd brought soda with us so we only had to buy a bit of food for the room.  We did that and then settled in.

That night I had a hard time sleeping again because of the pillows on my bed. They sucked. I always carry my feather pillow with me when I travel, so at least I had that. I had to double over my pillow on top of one of the ones they had to finally get comfortable. Their pillows were weird! I was tired on Friday too but luckily, we didn't leave the room.  I spend a lot of balcony time as I did on the September trip. I had my beach chair out there and just camped out. That was nice. I was out there when I heard about Betty White and was so upset. I went in to tell my friend. It was so sad to hear. She was such a sweetheart and will be sorely missed by so many people.  The rest of the day, I spend either on the balcony or in the room relaxing.  I was able to watch the ball drop on ABC and did that.  People were shooting off fireworks on the beach for a long time after that. The bad thing was, the fog had rolled in THICK that night and if the fireworks were not right next to the hotel or really close by there was no use to look. You couldn't see anything! lol We ordered two meals from DoorDash. One from Hungry Howie's and one from Charlie's Cheeseteaks.

So, Saturday, we went out to do our thrift and pawn shops.  We found a new Goodwill we'd never been to, so that was nice. Sadly, the pawnshops he likes were closed.  We did make it to four more Goodwills. Two in Myrtle, one in Surfside / Murrell's, and one in North Myrtle beach. I didn't get a lot, but I did get a few things. I found a Fossil bag in one Goodwill that had the key still on it and a bonus! Someone had bought one of the key and lock Fossil keychains and attached it to the bag too. Score! :D  I was very happy to have that and the bag rang up a whole $2.00! Nice!  We at that night at King's Famous Pizza in NMB and I got baklava to carry back to the room. YUM!  I packed up that night and had everything ready for an easier day on Sunday.

Sunday we got up and ate some of the last of our leftover pizza and get our things together and checked out. We drove up to NMB and went back to Goodwill. We were looking for something my friend had seen the day before and told me about that I wanted, but sadly, it was gone. :(  We headed on and went to Long's to the Goodwill there and then on.  We stopped in Tabor City and got some fries and drinks at McDonald's there.  We also stopped at the Sandwich hut in Rockingham NC.

We at in Reidsville, NC, and went to the Goodwill there. I found a black leather Fossil bag! :) Atter that, we headed home. All in all a nice trip. I got several fun thrifting items. My favorites are the Fossil keychain that I found on that one purse, and a nice Speck case for my iPad Mini!  So, I finally did a Myrtle Beach trip recap. Yay!  Now, let's share a random picture and hope it isn't one I've already shared. lol Ah, the fog. I never did show a good picture of that. It was much more ominous in person, btw!

Neat, yes? I like the way the hotel next door is the only light you can see.

Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, we are heading to Myrtle Beach tomorrow! :D  I just finished packing! LOL, I am usually done way before this. I have my things all ready. I only have to put a few things from the kitchen in a bag (coffee, creamer, etc.) I'm ready to leave now! :p  I wrote a bunch today and yesterday and I plan to write some more before putting my laptop in the bag to carry it. I always put my laptop in my suitcase with the electronics, but this laptop is too big so I'm going to use the laptop backpack that I bought at Office Max.  I think I got everything I need for the trip ready to go. I still can't decide on which bag to carry. I want to carry one of my cute little Fossil bags but I want to make sure it's the right size.  I don't like carrying my regular bag with me to the beach.  I usually pick one big enough for my trip journal to fit, but I am thinking if we are going into a restaurant, I can just carry it in with me.  I wouldn't carry it in a store.  The little Fossil bag I got last summer is so cute and I've not been able to use it because it was smaller than I thought it would be. I think I'll probably use that and just carry the trip journal.  Ah, I wish we could go tonight! I'm ready. I wasn't this morning, but nows that everything is packed, It's a go! I will try to post several times a day from the beach as I usually do.  The room we have is a two-room, room.  In other words, there is a bed, desk, dresser, tv, closet, and SINK! in the first part, then a kitchen and bathroom in the middle, and a two-bed bedroom with all the things in the first room (except the sink) and a table and chairs.  I can set my MacBook up at the desk.  I will try to do at least two posts a day and possibly three.  I will be sharing beach pictures and I'll try to take pictures of some other interesting things as I go. I'll also be posted to Insta. :) I have not used any money on my Starbucks card all month and I have several freebies so I'm set on that too.  I just finished the kitchen stuff, I've laid out my clothes, I just need to load this laptop in it's bag and load my friend's car.  No Goontz this trip. I drove him for a bit tonight so he wouldn't feel left out. :p

Hoo Boy!

What a thrifting trip that was! We started in Reidsville and went to the Salvation Army store and Goodwill. I found an Apple-branded cover for my iPad mini in there. It's light blue and I love it.  At Salvation Army, I got some cards, a snowman pin, a wallet, a CD, a cheese grater, and two packs of those cute little animal cable protectors.  We went from there to Wentworth NC and ate at a place called Mom's Kitchen.  We were looking forward to it. It was not great.  It was just.... I don't want to be mean, but it wasn't good. We won't be going back there.  We went from there to the Mayodan Goodwill that we recently discovered and I found a few things there.  A small Keurig k-cup holder (It fits under the little brewer in my room! LOL), a case (that will fit an external HD), a set of Tetris magnets, and a cute little Halloween ceramic thingee with a ghost, a tree, and little jack o lanterns.  We went on to a 'new' Goodwill in Walkertown NC.  I found a Sak bag exactly like the one I wanted at Myrtle that I bought on eBay. This one is the same bag but instead of being black, it's teal. I absolutely LOVE it.  I got that, a bit metal jack o lantern, a S'well bottle with donut design, a purple zipper pouch, a box of Ticonderoga pencils, and a Homer Simpson shirt! I can't wear it, it's way too small, but I had to have it! Lol

We left there and were heading to the Goodwill in Eden but we ended up going right past the one in Mayodan. They are constantly putting stuff out there so we stopped back in. I found some stampers and a cute crab plush.  I love crabs! He is red is so cute!  We then went to the Goodwill in Eden and I found a DS game! They had quite a few, but there was one that I was pretty sure I'd love. It was Crafting Mama!  I always adored the Cooking Mama games so I got this. It was still in the original case, too. That was $4. I was so happy to finally see some DS games and one I actually wanted! I'll try it later as I haven't been home long and I've been working on my writing.  I'm too tired to do it justice tonight so I've just been editing.

After Eden, we headed to our last stop, Martinsville, VA, and to the Goodwill there.  We ate again in Eden at a drive-up place.  That was much better than our lunch!  At the Martinsville Goodwill, I didn't find anything!  That was okay because I had already spent plenty.  I love all my finds. I'm so happy that I found that purse! I adore the black one so much and this is the same purse only in a cooler color. This once still has the Sak dangle thingee on it, too!

The CD I found in the Salvation Army in Reidsville is from the Vince Guaraldi Trio. It's all the music from the 1965 A Charlie Brown Christmas special  I just happened to see it while I was in line and snatched it up!  I've already ripped it to my MacBook Pro so I can enjoy it on here and on my iPod. I love the music from it.

I just looked up the cover I got for the iPad Mini. It sells new on the Apple store for $39.99! @_@; I got it for $4.99. SCORE!!!! lol  I am pretty sure this will also fit any iPad Mini so if I get a newer one, I should be able to use it with those too. :) It was a good thrifting trip. I'll try to remember to take pictures tomorrow.  I need to move everything off my bed so I can actually sleep in it tonight. Plus, I want to try Crafting Mama!

Yum!

So, my friend texted me today and asked if I'd like to go to Reidsville and eat at Carmela's or Pete's. I said, YES!  He came over and we went and we ate at Carmela's. They are an Italian place that is great.  I got fettuccine alfredo. I have been wanting some good alfredo for quite a while now, so I was so happy to get this.  It was delicious.  Just look at it:

PXL_20201211_184748296.MP~2

Makes me hungry all over again! :p. After we ate, we went to the Salvation Army store and the Goodwill over there.  We didn't go to Eden and on to Martinsville, this was a Reidsville only trip.  I found a 16 oz Starbucks holiday mug from 2013 in the SA store. I also got a case for my iPad Mini for $1 and I got a little scrapbook 'kit'.  It's the scrapbook and inside it has stickers and papers to use in it.  I looked it up online and found the same thing at Amazon for $24. I paid $2 so I think that is a great score! I think I'll save it and use it after the next beach trip.

At Goodwill, I found a Kate Spade wallet! It's in perfect condition. It's only missing the clip-on wrist strap which I wouldn't use in any case.  It's nice and I was happy to find it.  I only have one Kate Spade thing and this just made my day.  I also got two mugs. One with a penguin and one that is a jack o lantern! :) Both are adorable and for display, not drinking.  The Starbucks mug I found at SA is for drinking. It's in excellent condition. It was a small thrift run and a small thrift haul, but it was a good one.  I enjoyed getting out for a bit and I love the things I found. I tried my phone in the Kate Spade wallet and it fits fine! I love that I can just toss my debit card, license, and phone in it and go.  Good for when I don't want to carry a purse.

By the way, Big Sur is no longer laggy. In fact, it's pretty damn fast! I love it.  Everything is so neat. I have read some sites and watched a few videos on it to get tips and tricks.  I want to do more of that tomorrow.  While we were in Reidsville, I was capturing a lot of virtual Munzees as we came to them.  That was fun! I was able to get some unique stuff that isn't around here so that was even better.  There are a LOT of virtual over there.  A zillion times more than are here in Danville.

I'll be ready to go out and I can't go!

What am I babbling about?  Well, I ordered a laptop bag today for the MBP since my laptop bag was too small, yes, I could use the sleeve and I might use that too at times, but I wanted an actual bag. I ordered one on Amazon and I also ordered a clear snap-on case for the MBP.  It's blue and clear. This MBP is in such great shape so it will look so nice in that case.  I looked at a lot of cases.  The ones I really wanted were $20 and up. This one was $10 and it looked nice.  I hope I like it. I am not a fan of the 'frosted' look and that is the case that is on it now.  I could have gotten a pink one but my new laptop bag is pink.  That is too much pink! :p. The laptop bag came in black (too basic), blue (not a good shade) and grey (I think). I liked the pink the best.  It's pretty cool. It opens completely. If you pulled the zipper down, you can lay the bag out flat.  The laptop goes in the big sleeve side and there are two smaller pockets on the other side and it has an outside pocket.  I like it.  I hope I picked right by getting the pink.  I like pink in limited doses. :p

As for I'll be ready to go and I can't go.  I can pack up my laptop to go out, but that is really not an option now.  I miss going out and sitting in Starbucks on my laptop. I am getting the bag and case with the hope that a future time will be back to normal and I can go sit in Starbucks!  I shouldn't have bought them both this month, I'm low on money because my personal property taxes were due and my post office box was due.  I plan to go to the post office tomorrow and check my box, pay for my po box, and get any letters.  Then I hope to write all my letters.  Any that are at the post office and any at home.  I need to buy stamps too. I haven't had any in a while.  I want to get my letters caught up and sent out asap!

Here is the bag as shown on Amazon:

Sunday morning post from Myrtle

I went to bed right after midnight and I was able to sleep! I woke up several times during the night, but I fell back asleep each time. It was unbelievably nice to get to sleep like that.  I feel like an actual human today! :P

The hotel here has coffee pots but no coffee for them! AHHHHHHH I will have to go and get some ..soon... lol. The hotel we are going to has single serve coffee makers (if they still have the same ones as when we stayed before) so they should have coffee available.  I'm going to look on Google and see where the closest place is that I can get coffee.  The nearest Starbucks is quite a walk away.  There is a Dunkin closer.  I will decide what to do.  I need to eat something before I go out and I'm not ready to get dressed and go just yet.  I will though as this is the only day we'll be staying this close to the SkyWheel / Pavilion area.  I really want to go to a few storesup that way.  I will pass a Starbucks on the way and there is the Oceanfront one... Mmmmmm Starbucks...

So, yeah, that is my day so far. LOL I have gotten some sleep and now it's just a time to decide what to do. I just checked and it's 82˚ here today.  Yikes! I think that since this is the day I'll be closest to the Pavilion, I'll go there today.  I just have to get myself up and going.  I know once I eat some leftover pizza and head out, I'll be good.  There are places I can get a snack on the way too, if I want.  Yes, I guess it's Pavilion today.  I'll try to take pictures to share later.

For now, I took a few pictures from the balcony just before coming to post this to share. Enjoy and I'll be back later this afternoon!

20200524_110300

Hello again!

I have gotten my second wind and I'm a little more with it now. I wanted to post about the interesting thing that happened on my way to Myrtle Beach!  My friend and I usually do this trip from Monday - Sunday. He had this planned well before Covid-19 and all that mess.  When he found out that we would actually be allowed to go, he also found out that he would be off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the day we'd usually leave.  What does this nut do?  He books us a room at a different hotel for those two nights! LOL!  Yes, we are here until Monday morning and then we change hotels.  Fun, eh?  Two extra days for having to move twice?  I'm not complaining!

So, we were getting close to getting to Myrtle and his battery light comes on. Uh oh! Not good.  He pulls over on a busy highway and risks life and limb to check under the hood.  Everything looked okay, so he said since we were less than 10 miles from the hotel, we'd try our best to make it.  Well, when we get in Mrytle, they have Ocean Boulevard only going ONE WAY. You have to get on a certain cross streets and go to your hotel.  We didn't know this at first and we below ours and we were going to just drive up. NOPE. You can only go right onto Ocean Blvd.  So, we had to go eight streets above our hotel and go through there.  The car was struggling.

We get to the hotel and he sees a few parking spots near the front and he goes for it.  The car dies right there.  Luckily he was almost  in the spot so he was able to maneuver it and park it.  We went to hopefully check in.  This was just before noon and check in is at 4pm!  Of course the room wasn't ready but she said she'd call.

So, we can't go anywhere because of the car. This first hotel is right next to the beginning of the Beach Boardwalk so we go sit on a bench in the shade there.  He does some looking online and calls around and finds an autoshop store that will deliver the parts here to the hotel. Score!  They do and he hs been out working on putting the two parts on.  Hopefully this will fix the problem.  It's been a very long day and we are both tired to death.

We stopped at a Goodwill in Longs SC. My first thrift store in almost two months!  I got really 'weird' in there.  The only thing I could describe it was I felt like I was going to fall over in the floor. I actually stumbled into a clothing rack and was swaying badly. We checked out and then got on the road. It wasn't long after that the car issues started up so I was freaking out about feeling like I was dying and the car was trying to die too!  I think the car and I are both better now.  I hope he is coming back in soon with good news.

As for me, I felt better once I sat down in a cool environment.  We ordered pizza and I ate three slices of that on the balcony with some of my beloved Mountain Dew (I AM NOT A NECKBEARD!) I just happen to love their drink of choice. D'oh!  Anyway, I felt a lot better after eating and I've been just sitting and relaxing since.  I am starting to feel like myself again but damn I'm hungry again. LOL

That pizza was almost six hours ago now so it's okay that I'm hungry. I want to wait for my friend to get done with the car and hope that was a success.  I can eat leftover pizza or if the car is running we can risk it and go out in this insane traffic. AHHHH!

So, that was my day so far. I wanted to share with you. I didn't realise I would be writing my next novel right here in the blog. :P Here are a few more -pictures including that fabulous Hungry Howie's pizza!

NaNoWriMo Day Two and a Day Trip Too!

I am done with NaNoWriMo day two!  I also went on a day trip to The High Bridge Trail. It's located in and around Farmville VA.  The trail head we got on was at Rice, VA.  There is a almost half mile long bridge that is 125 feet  over the Appomattox River.  It's a beautiful spot.  I took a lot of pictures from the bridge and some along the parts of the trail we walked on.  I came home and got my NaNoWriMo words done for today.  Still on track and I'm a bit ahead. ^_^

I forgot to mention that on the way up, we were stopped by a herd of cows in the middle of the highway! lol . I tried to get a picture before they mooooved, but this is the best I got:

Ouch ouch ouch

My poor head is killing me at the moment.  I have the headache from hell.  I didn't sleep well last night and then woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep.  My friend wanted to go to South Boston today and go to a pawn shop, a Goodwill, and to eat.  He asked me a few days ago if I'd like to go.  He would buy lunch and get me some things at the thrift store.  I went.  I usually find a lot of things at that particular Goodwill, but I only found a little bag with various office supplies and a pair of black flats.  I have been needing a pair of nice black flats. These look pretty much brand new, too.  They are comfy and I like them a lot.

We ate at Dini's brothers. It's a pizza / sub place in SoBo.  We split a pizza and it was good.  When we got back to Danville, we went to the Goodwill here.  I found more goodies.  A journal, a digital camera kit, a Spirograph with all the pieces but one, some cute stationery, and two Starbucks tumblers!! They are from 2007 and they are both grande size.  The lid on one of them wasn't the right lid, but the other one's lid fit on both, and I wouldn't be using both at the same time anyway!  I couldn't pass them up for .99 each!

Oh, I also got a caramel macchiato at the McDonald's as we were leaving SoBo.  It was pretty tasty, too! I was hoping to spot some extra cases for my iPad Mini at the thrift stores. I have seen them before.  I like having a variety of cases. lol

My Fossil canvas purse came today and it's so cute.  I'll have to do another post after this and do a picture post of some of today's goodies. I would do it with this post, but I'm sitting under the hair bonnet hair dryer so it's not possible at the moment. I took several pictures of the Starbucks tumblers, but I haven't taken one of the purse yet.  It's khaki colored canvas and it has a cute yellow floral interior.  It's a small bag, but it holds everything I need.  The front zipper pocket can be used as a wallet if you want.  I like it.  I'll post my haul in a bit after my hair is dry.  The heat from the dryer is very soothing to my painful head!

Another thing I needed came in today's mail.  My closet light went out recently.  To turn it on and off, you pull a string from the light bulb adapter thingee.  My adapter thingee quit working so I ordered one from Amazon. It's nice to have light in my closet again. I had tried one of those tap lights, but it wasn't nearly enough light.  I am glad to have this fixed again.

Now, I just need to finish drying my hair and I'll post some of my goodies. :)

Partial packing

Yes, I'm partially packed!  I have most everything packed but my clothes.  I have a load in the dryer now.  I figured I'd just pack all my clothes at once.  I have packed most of my electronics and toiletries.  I have to pack this Mac and I wanted to post to my blog before I did.  I knew I could have on my phone, but I tend to not write very long posts when I do it that way!

Today, I did get to see my friend for his birthday.  I rode with his mom to get him a cookie cake for his birthday and we also ran a few of her errands while out.  I went to their house and visited for a while too.  After that, we rode around for a little bit and then they brought me home.  I didn't walk today, I kind of wish I did, but at the same time, it was really hot.  It stormed this afternoon when I was with my friends, so it cooled down A LOT.  That was nice.  I think my clothes are about dry.  I'm going to get those out and pack everything and get everything ready so I don't have to do anything in the morning.  I like to be able to sleep later and just get up, wash off, and go.  I hopefully will sleep better tonight than I have been. It was around 4 last night when I finally laid down and I still wasn't sleepy. Boo!

I have to pack up my bullet journal, this MBP, my Kindle, and a few other things and that one bag will be packed.  That will just leave my clothes.  I hope I have enough. I usually take way more than I need.  It's a safety precaution.  I'd rather have too much and not need it than have too little and need more!

Pretty in pink!

After my walk today, I stopped by a friend's house for a bit to see all their pooches.  I was really roasting by the time I got home.  I relaxed and cooled off.  My mailbox had something in it today that I was hoping for.  I found a really cute small crossbody bag recently.  I don't like carrying my full purse on trips, but I like to carry something.  I found this little guy and he is perfect.  I took a picture of the outside and the front pocket/flap thingee.  It also has a big open zipper compartment, a snap close back pocket, and as you can see, several smaller pockets in the flap. I will be perfect for the trip and also for those times when I run out and don't want to carry my big purse.  Here it is:

Photostudio_1535772383793

Yes, it's pink! It also came in military green, khaki, grey, blue, and some other colors.  I though the pink would be fun. I have so many military green bags.  Oh, they had purple too.  It's a really cute and functional bag.  I had to run to do an errand earlier and I carried it.  It's perfect.  It has a small zipper pocket on top that is perfect for carrying my lip balm! Yay!

I hope to walk tomorrow.  I also have to wash more clothes tomorrow, wash my hair, pack, and all kinds of other things.  I needed to mow, so I did that today.  My friend's birthday is tomorrow.  He is my besties son.  He is turning 21 and I'm sure they'll all want to do something for his day.  I'll probably go see them.  He is the the friend I saw today, actually.  He saw me walking and waited when he got home for me to get to the neighborhood to wish me a belated birthday.  While I was there, I had to see all five dogs! LOL!  His mom and step dad have three, his grandma has two. :P I love them all.  I got and gave lots of love! ^_^

First full day back on my routine.

I got in  my walk today and luckily, it wasn't as hot as my walks were at the beach.  I stopped at the grocery store on the way home to pick up two things I needed so I didn't have to go for a big trip later.  I got home and relaxed and cooled off.  I got up and did my workouts.  I did those and then my French lesson.  I had time after that to relax a bit, so I did until lunch time.

I fixed myself some lunch.  I ate and then got up to go mow.  The front lawn had gotten pretty high while I was gone, so that needed doing.  I got it done and came in to cool off and relax.  I washed another load of laundry.  This was the things I didn't get around to yesterday.  I sat down and paid all my bills.  I'll have to be frugal at the grocery store this month.  I had two extra bills that I don't usually have.  I didn't spend as much as I usually do at the beach, so that helped out a lot!

I eventually want to do a recap post of the trip.  I also want to share pictures of some of the goodies I got.  I'll try to do that later this week.  I'm back on track for my usual stuff today, so that is good.  I am really sleepy, though. I never sleep well at the beach, and I tend to get up a lot earlier than I do at home.  I slept pretty well last night and I'm hoping to sleep just as well tonight! I need it.

I don't know if I mentioned it while at the beach, I got quite a stack of Starbucks cards that I didn't have.  I just put them in my binder that I keep them in.  I always love getting new ones.  I now need to add the four Starbucks stores that I visited to my tracker. ^_^  That will be awesome.

Beach trip recap...

So, I'm finally getting around to doing a recap of the trip. I'm pretty sure I told you everything as I was going along, but I was really tired on that trip so maybe not!  I went through my trip journal and pictures and took notes. :P

So, Thursday morning, my friend came.  We loaded my things in the car and then had breakfast.  He'd picked up biscuits from Hardee's on the way.  We ate and then headed out.  We stopped in Greensboro.  We don't usually stop until Rockingham, but he wanted a soda and I figured it would be a good chance to use the bathroom.  I did and I got a coffee! ^_^  We headed on and when we got to Rockingham, we topped off the tank and then went in the Sandwich Hut to use the restrooms and get snacks.  I usually get a drink and a Reese's, but I only got a Mountain Dew.  We drove on and when we were close to the beach, we stopped in Long's SC at a Goodwill there.  We found it on our last trip and stopped in.  I found a cute little purse/pouch.  It's fabric and it has two straps.  One to make it a wristlet and one to wear it around the neck.  The little purse is about the size of two decks of cards side by side.  It was only a dollar and I really liked it.

We left there and then headed on down to North Myrtle Beach.  We arrived at the Red Tree Inn and checked in.  We were able to get the same room we had last year. ^_^  That is always cool.  We put our things away and I had to go on the balcony some.  We were both hungry, so we headed out after a bit to eat.  We were going to Steak and Shake, but my friend decided to Golden Corral instead.  That was a good meal. I tried their honey sesame chicken and it was delicious.  I had put various things on my first plate and one piece of that.  I liked it so much, I went back and ate a plate of it.  We left there and went to a Dollar Tree and then back to the room.  We stayed in awhile and then headed out to a few places.  We went to the Goodwill and Dollar General.  We got some food, drinks, and snacks for the room in Dollar General.  My friend got a milkshake and then we went back to the room.  We ordered a pizza later in the evening from Hungry Howie's. I took a nice walk on the beach.  I was so tired, I forgot to look to see what the hotel looked like from the beach! LOL  Luckily, I did recognize it and I had my friend come to the window so I'd be sure.  I finally got back to the room.  I was exhausted, so I crashed a little bit after midnight.

I woke up at 6am on Friday. Yikes! My friend was up and he put on the Scoobynatural episode of Supernatural.  I watched it to the end and was fully awake, he was asleep! LOL!  I decided to get in my walk so I did.  I went to Starbucks and got my first cascara latte in a while.  BLISS.  I went in a few beachwear stores but didn't buy anything.  I went back to the room and ate some leftover pizza.  I was wanting to get out again but my friend was asleep so I decided to walk again.  I ended up walking about 3 miles from the hotel.  Keep in mind my first walk that morning was a total of six miles!  At the 3 mile walk on the second walk, I spotted a McDonald's.  I decided to go in and use the bathroom and then I got a frappe and a small fry to give myself a break from walking. I did that and then headed back.  I was one tired person that night!  I did go down and walk on the beach just a tiny bit. I have to have feet on sand everyday during the trip!

So the next day was our last full day.  My friend was going to hang out around the hotel for awhile, so I decided to head out.  He gave me some money so I could grab breakfast while I was out.  I stopped in at a pretty cool McDonald's and had biscuits.  After I finished there, I headed to the Starbucks and had another cascara latte. :D  On the way back to the room, I stopped in Tuesday Morning.  I got 2 rolls of washi, a card case, some stickers, and candy.  I walked to Ocean Blvd. and walked back to the hotel that way.  I went in three beachwear stores on my way back.

I got to the room and then got my tumbler and went to the lobby to fill it with coffee.  I went on the balcony for a bit and then decided I wanted to go down on the beach.  I took my trip journal, my bujo, my coffee, and a beach towel.  I sat on the beach for a while and then went in.  My friend was ready to go to dinner soon after that.  We headed to King's Famous pizza. One of our favorite spots to eat while at the beach.  Later, after we'd gotten back to the room, he decided he wanted a Milkshake at Cookout and I wanted some Starbucks.   Yes, I had Starbucks twice in one day. :p  I packed up most everything to be ready for the ride home.

On Sunday, I got up and packed the last few things that I couldn't the night before.  I went to the lobby and got coffee and I also walked on the beach a little bit.  I took lots of pictures.  We loaded up the car and then checked out of the hotel.  We went to Myrtle for the first time since the trip began.  Our destination was Lenny's Country Kitchen in Myrtle.  We've eaten here many times while in Myrtle.  They have a nice breakfast buffet.  We got that and it was good.  We left there and were heading out  I needed to use the bathroom and forgot to go in Lenny's, so I told my friend if he saw an easily accessible McDonald's to stop and i'd use the bathroom and get a frappe.  We passed one and I got a frappe for me and a soda for him.  We got on the road again and didn't stop until we got to Rockingham.  We stopped at the Sandwich hut again and then headed home.  We got here a bit before 5.  It was a good trip, but way too short.  I'll post some pictures soon.

Last full day. :(

Today is our last full day here.  We check out and head out in the morning unfortunately.  I slept a little longer today than yesterday.  I got up and walked.  I stopped at a McDonald's and got a couple of biscuits for my breakfast and then walked to Starbucks to get a cascara latte.  ^_^  It was delicious.  I was able to get a spot to sit too, so that was great.  I stayed there long enough to drink my coffee and then walked on.  I went to Tuesday Morning.  I got two rolls of cute washi, some stickers, and metal card case holder with JFK on it.  As in JFK airport.  They also had LHA for London's Heathrow airport.  I thought they looked cool.  I got the JFK one because I'm a Kennedy fan.

I left there and headed back towards the hotel.  I found the perfect coffee mug in a King's beachwear store.  I had been looking at coffee cups in every beach store I went in.  This one was cheaper than the others I'd liked and so cute.  Unfortunately it had a chip and a crack. :(  I didn't get it.  It was the only one they had, too.  I was so sad.  I went in several other beachwear stores around there, but none of them had it either.

I finally got back to the room and relaxed a bit.  I went to the lobby and filled my tumbler with coffee.  I went to sit on the balcony for a bit, but then decided to go out on the beach.  I carried my beach towel, my coffee, and my backpack.  I had my trip journal and my bujo in my backpack.  I sat on the beach for a while and just enjoyed it.  I took pictures.  I'll share a few with you here:

It's been a nice little trip, but it's gone by way too fast.  We are heading out for dinner in a bit.  Not sure where we are going to eat yet.

Wednesday catch up!

Since I didn't post a real post last night and I promised a real one today, I decided to do it early!  I am still very tired today.  I didn't sleep well again last night.  I am hoping to catch up on some tonight, but I probably won't.  Considering that my friend and I are leaving for the beach in the morning.  I never sleep well the night before a trip.  I sleep even less knowing I have to get up earlier than my usual time. :p

So, yesterday I walked, but I didn't do my workouts.  I would have, but there were a lot of moves that would hurt my foot.  My foot still hurts a lot.  Walking is bad, but it isn't as bad as some of the workouts.  I skipped my workouts  I decided since I won't be able to do any until I get back, I'm just skipping them until Monday.  I plan to eat and enjoy everything possible this weekend, because Monday, I plan to finally get on track!  I want to reach my goal weight!  Since I'll be at the beach this weekend, I plan to enjoy the food. :p

I washed clothes last night and packed my suitcase.  My clothes are all ready, but my other suitcase is still empty. I carry two small suitcases to the beach.  One has my clothes, the other has my electronics, notebooks, bujo, etc.  I also carry my messenager bag, but I carry it up front in the car with me.  I carry my phone, wallet, trip journal, and other things in it.  I also carry a Starbucks tumbler for coffee!  I picked one of of my more recent ones that I haven't used much.

I was thinking of leaving the laptop at home, but I got some electrical tape and was able to fix the cord.  It's not a permanent fix, but it is working fine at the moment.  I had some other tape on it and I could hear it sparking.  I put the electrical tape on and it's not sparking and it is charging well. ^_^  I really want to be able to use my Macbook!  I have to do nice blog posts at the beach, right?

Today I walked and it was sunny and in the seventies!  Yesterday it was around fifty.  I was able to walk in short sleeves today.  That was weird.  I am ready for this same weather but with an ocean view.  I hope to take a lot of pictures and you know I'll share some after I get home.  I'll also try to share one a day while there.  I plan to get to the Starbucks at North Myrtle.  I have three free drinks on there and I got my notification today that I'm gold for another year.  I already knew that. :p It's nice to see it though. :D

I have such a weird tan line from winter walking!  I wear a pair of long fitness capris so I have a nice tan on my calves but from half way up and past my knee, I have none. LOL  It looks so weird and makes me self conscious.  I plan to get some just above the knee shorts to wear on my walks.  I hope to get grey ones as all the black ones I've worn in the past all get bleached out from the sun.  Grey ones would too, but it wouldn't be so noticeable. I have never tanned in my life until I started walking!  It's so weird.

Ah, I think I totally made up for that short post last night.  I was just so tired.  I am also currently reading a true crime book by Ann Rule that I hadn't read before.  It's so good!  I am carrying my Kindle with me to the beach, and I will probably finish it there.  I'm also still reading the book on coffee.
