Traveler's Notebook Feed

Another day done

I didn't go out today or really do much of anything. Well, that isn't entirely true. I did a load of laundry and washed a ton of dishes. I was so glad to get those done. I say every time that I'm going to wash them as I go and I start off doing that and then forget and don't. Oops. I meant to mention that I made a pocket folder for my TN yesterday. I took a regular file folder and cut it to the size of one of the notebooks, then put the pockets in with a part of the folder I cut to make it.  I then taped that together and then covered the outside with washi to give it some character. I think it turned out nicely. It will be nice to have a pocket in there to save things.  I have made similar ones before. A few for my B6 TN and one for another one of my TNs.  Here is this one I made yesterday.

Simple, easy, and cute!  This TN has strings for four notebooks but I don't want to overload it so I am only using three, I used the fourth string to put this one in there between the second and third notebook. I like it.

It actually came!

I checked the iPad this morning as I did every day since I ordered my item and it actually said it was out for delivery! :D I was so happy and so shocked. I really didn't think it was ever coming!  It came.  I wanted to do a photoshoot of it, but I wasn't able to today. My friend had texted and wanted to know if I wanted to go a couple of places, but I said I couldn't because the package I've been waiting for years on (seems like it) was coming today and hadn't been delivered yet.  I had planned to do an unboxing video and everything!  Well, since we didn't go anywhere, he was nice enough to bring me some food from KFC. (that sammich is the bomb!) He was here when the mail came. I got my package in, but I didn't open it until after he left and by then, it wasn't light enough out to get a good photoshoot.  I did take a picture in my room in my crappy lighting though. :p So, what is the mystery goodie I ordered myself? A traveler's notebook.  I've been wanting a traditional A5 size TN that would hold some of my largersized notebooks. I saw this one and fell in love with the color and design.  I wasn't sure until it actually got here if the notebooks would work as the dimensions weren't lining up but they did fit! :)  I am also going to make a slip of paper to carry in my purse that I can compare to notebooks with I find them in stores. I do occasionally come across these little notebooks.  Right now, it has three in it and it's made to have four, but I think that will make it too chunky.  I have a charm on it. It's a keychain that I got from Myrtle Beach and modified and made into a charm. It's very cute!  The color of the TN in person was darker than the pictures on the website, but I like it. It's so soft and it smells sooooo good.  Here is the picture, remember, it's not the greatest as it's in poor lighting:

There it is without the charm. D'oh! Here it is with the charm. :p

The little star was filled with copper-colored glitter, I took it out and put pink and blue in there. I thought it was a nice addition.  Of course, the cork broke and I had to find a way to replace it.  The second picture is more what it looks like on the website and the color I wanted, it's more like the first picture in person, but again, I have crappy lighting, so...   The color is pink and grey according to the Etsy listing. The grey to me is more blue grey than grey so that makes me happy as I love blue.  It's a gorgeous TN!

Boring!

Yes, this post is going to be boring. Why? I have nothing to share.  I haven't really done much today.  I did write a ton, but other than that, nothing. OH! I did do one thing.  I have several Traveler's notebooks as you know. Well, the blue one that is actually a Traveler's company notebook has an insert that I made for the first half of the year.  I bought the set last year from them already done.  This year, I just used a blank book and created a weekly.  It's going to run out in June so I found another one of my blank notebooks (well this one is dotted) and I made the rest of the year.  I try to put one word or something in there that I am grateful for that day.  It all started when I got a generic insert in 2019 for November and December and one of the boxes was 'today's gratitude' or something to that effect.  I have continued that with the purchased inserts last year and the ones I made myself this year.  I got the rest of the year's one set up today.  It is ready to go. :)

So tired and stuff!

I am so tired. I haven't been sleeping well and then today, I have been busy!   I went on a quick errand earlier so I could Munzee. I came back and washed my hair. I put away the dishes I washed yesterday and had my bed linen in to wash.  I need to go and get the laundry I washed yesterday out and put it away so I can dry the bed linen. I put away most of the dishes I washed yesterday too.  I thought I had remembered where I had put that yoga mat, so I looked. Nope! I did clean up as I made a mess looking for it! lol, I am just stumped on ideas.   I can't imagine where I put it! The two places I looked today, I was sure it would be.  Either in one or the other and it wasn't!  At least I got those areas nice and clean.  Um.... guess what I JUST found?  Yeah, the yoga mat!  I was sitting here typing that and I remembered one other place and there it was! :D  I just... wow. lol It WAS in one of the two places I looked today.  It was at the opposite end of where I was looking.  D'oh!  I cut it down and now it's one my desk. I like it!  It gives me some nice padding on the desk, too.

PXL_20210208_013958079

I like it!  It's not cut perfectly, but it's not bad.  I then decided that I could put the mat I bought to good use.  My little metal organizer I have near my bed is now sporting it! I used the blue side and I think it looks nice. Here that is:

PXL_20210208_014428671

It's almost a perfect fit.  I might trim the corners in the future but for now, it's okay.  I think it looks nice and I had been wanting to put some kind of topper on it and this works.

And so it goes...

I am suffering from cool notebook syndrome.  My little Moleskine Cahiers are so nice I don't know how to go about using them! LOL! I have this issue with a lot of my notebooks.  I really want to make my TN a TN for learning French.  I just have to decide how to go about it.  I was thinking of one notebook for notes while taking lessons.  (Words I have trouble with, things I didn't understand, etc.) and the other two for certain things.  I just haven't decided on those things yet!  I DID put an address label in one of the cahiers.  Progress, I guess?

In other news, I have been writing on my fic every day.  I figure it's good practice for NaNo.  I do need to do some more prep for NaNo but not too much.  I have the idea of the book in my head.  I just need to decide on what the main thing will be.  If my male skater is hurt, I have to research that.  If I do the stalking story, that will be easy peasy.  I read and watch enough true crime to have that one in the bag. LOL!  I will probably do the stalking and the injury in another book.  Who knows with me?

I have been playing Munzee every day for the past couple of weeks.  They have a Zeeops event going on and I've been able to do everything so far.  Tomorrow is the last day of this week's tasks.  I hope I'm able to do it and get the bonus. If you complete every day you get an extra perk at the end.  It's been fun and I've had a lot of fun deploying Munzees.

Set up complete... for now!

I thought I would use a Traveler's notebook to enhance my French language studies and this is what I came up with.  I love it!  I'm using my latest TN in an A5 size with three Moleskine cahiers inside.  I hope to have something in each and use this to advance my learning.  I made it all Paris/French themed throughout.  Check it out here:

Sunday

I got so much done today.  I washed a load of laundry yesterday and I put it away today.  I washed my bed linen and my hair.  I also washed a week's worth of dishes.  I swear I'm going to keep them washed as I go and it never happens. D'oh!  I've been playing special Zeeops in Munzee so I ran out today to do the daily 'mission'.  It's fun and I earn things to make playing more fun.

Today, yes on Sunday, I got a package in the mail. It was a package from Amazon.  I decided that I wanted Moleskine cahiers in my new TN instead of the Moleskines volants.  The cahiers are pale yellow and so pretty.  I also printed some things to put in the 'dashboard' I made.  I'll take pictures in good lighting tomorrow.  I think it looks so pretty!

Traveler's Notebook in the park

I finally got to take some pictures of my new TN and I also took a few photos of the Foxy with the new 'dashboard' I created!  To get more info on each picture just click on it. It explains what is in each picture.  I hope you enjoy!

Well then

Guess what I forgot all about today? Yup, to take pictures of my new TN stuff.  Oops.  I needed to go to Walgreens for something and found some Halloween goodies.  Look at these guys.  So cute.  The Reese's was a nice treat.

PXL_20201008_190252064

I love that mug! It was the last one they had.  They were buy one get one 50% off.  I saw the cute 'potion' bottle and got it since it would be half off.  I love adding things to my ever growing Halloween collection.

I was messing around at home later on my phone and was looking in the Munzee app. There was a little thing in there to earn points for the mobile store so I did that, then I saw I could get more points for deploying or capturing a Munzee.  I haven't played in a while, so I went out and deployed three physical ones at Dan Daniel's park.  There is a little area at DD that I didn't even know existed!  That was cool.  I took a few sky pictures and a picture of a cute little tree.

I enjoyed my quick trip there and hope to go back and explore soon.  I didn't know that part was even there!  It was good to get out and Munzee again.  Maybe I can go out tomorrow and carry my TNs and Munzee, explore and take pictures of my TNs.  We'll see. I don't feel great at the moment, but I'm hoping to sleep off anything that I may have.

Friday evening post

We went out and visited three Goodwill stores, a Salvation Army store, Tuesday Morning and we ate at King's Famous Pizza in North Myrtle Beach.  It was delicious as always.  I got some cool things.  I found a Sak roots handbag at the Salvation Army store, three pair of shoes at the Goodwill in NMB plus an amazing pen/pencil zip-up case that hold over 100 pens!  It's awesome and it's my favorite color, too!  It was a good day of thrifting for sure.  I found some really cute stuff at Tuesday Morning.  Two packs of washi (like I needed more!), a odd sized TN, some Halloween stampers, and a little book with notes in it.  Very cute! I love everything.  The little TN has two inserts that are regular size TN ones so I can use them in something else if I want.

I took a few pictures while out, too.  Here are some to share:

The first picture is some military plane (I think).  We saw it quite a few places unless there were more of them.

Oops I did it again!

Well, I DID plan to post last night.  I just ran out of time. Why?  Well, my crazy bed did it's thing again and the boxspring fell through the frame.  I pulled the bed out, took everything out from under it, cleaned all around it, and then got down to business.  I tightened everything and anything I could to make sure it didn't do it again. I hope I was successful this time, but I hope that every time!  Hopefully, if I didn't get it perfect, it will last a while.

After I got it back together, I put the clean linens back on.  By that point, I was sore, injured, and dripping sweat.  I had to cool off before I died.  It took a while, but I finally got cooled down and was able to relax for a bit.  It was midnight before I finished getting everything back together so it was too late to post to my blog. I figured I would just wait until today.

I ran out for a quick errand earlier today before the rain came.  I took a picture of my little TN in the car.  It's a better representation of the actual color.  It's so pretty.  I want another one just like it! LOL. Here it is resting on my steering wheel:

MVIMG_20200831_140917

It's so pretty! I'm thinking of using it not only for Munzee but for journaling on the go.  I have the Munzee notebook in there and I had another notebook in there.  I can use it for journaling or notes.  I also stuck a little stack of Post-it notes in for quick notes.  It's so nifty.  I could also but the insert to make it into a wallet if I wanted.

I took a picture of a couple of my latest Jack o' lantern finds at Goodwill.  I mentioned each of these as I got them, but I don't think I ever showed a picture of them.  Here they are together.  Such cuties!

MVIMG_20200830_164043

I love jack o' lanterns, but I particularly love ceramic ones.  They are fun to display with or without a tealight in them.  I might take pictures of my entire collection at one point and share them.  I will be decorating for Halloween very, very soon. I have boxes and boxes and boxes of Halloween stuff and the majority of it is .... yes, jack o' lanterns!

Munzee and more!

I received a new traveler's notebook in the mail today. :P. This one is bigger than a passport size.  It will hold small Moleskine cahiers and Field Note notebooks.  I made mine into a Munzee kit!  I can use it as that and if I want to change it up, carry it as a smaller tn in the future! I like the way I set it up.  I want to get another pocket type insert.  The one I'm using cam in another thing I got and I saved it. It fits perfectly in this little TN and I can store Munzees in there.  All the extras I have in an old Altoid tin.  I can add more to the TN as needed.  Neat, yes?

Of course, I had to give it a test run!  First I drove to a place where there was a virtual Munzee and captured it, then I rode to Ballou park and drove around trying to decide where to deploy a couple of Munzees.  I have deployed several in the park.  You can deploy one within 50 feet of someone else's and at least 150 feet from your own. (Or the other way around, I forget! LOL!) Anyway!  I was able to deploy two and that was fun.  I took pictures of the TN while there since I was outside is beautiful natural light.  Here are the pictures:

20200625_185037

This is the TN itself.  I put it in the bag my Foxy came in to carry it in my purse.  It's such a cute size!

20200625_185037

The inside.  I have a Moleskine Evernote notebook in there.  I am using it to keep track k of the Munzees as I deploy them to keep a record. (I also have a tracker in my bujo)

20200625_185037

The little plastic guy that I'm using for now to hold my Munzees.  I used washi tape to secure everything since it's easy to remove and re-stick.  The blue post it has a list of ones that I need to repair that I've deployed in the past.

I think this will be a neat system and I can easily toss this TN in another bag if I go out without my  purse.  I think I'm going to love it.  I found this TN on Amazon for a very good price. It comes in brown, black, and dark brown (what I have).  Very nice quality. It came with one notebook and an extra band. Highly recommended!

Slow Sunday

It's Sunday yet again and I'm currently washing my bed linens.  I was about to toss them in the wash when I realized that I washed a load of laundry last night and left it in the dryer after it dried so now I have to get that out to finish my bed linen. D'oh!  I was in the kitchen (where the washer and dryer are) and was about to start my bed linen drying when I realized.  I already had my pot of water on the stove to warm for washing my hair, so I just decided I'd wash it, dry it and then fold the laundry and dry the bed linen.

I started a new puzzle today.  It's a Puzzlebug one and I'm happy about that.  They just seem to be the best quality puzzles I've found that I can get at Dollar Tree.  The pieces are a decent size, they interlock well, and they are nice.  I'm currently working one with a lot of sky and a lighthouse.  I got a good portion done before stopping.

As soon as my hair is done drying, I will be working on putting away laundry.  Yes, I'm currently sitting under the hair bonnet dryer.  See my setup:

20200322_170801

That is the puzzle in the background. Here is what I've done so far:

20200322_164109

It's going to be another pretty one.  After I get the laundry put away and my bed linen in the dry, I'm going to relax for a bit.  I might read or work on more things to add to my Foxy Fix.  I love that thing so much.  The first time I ever saw a FF that was the Sugar Coconut, I fell in love.  I wanted a Foxy and I wanted a Sugar Coconut.  They aren't on the site anymore so I'm thinking it's a retired color.  I would see them from time to time on buy/sell sites but never a size I wanted of if it was the right size, it was too expensive.  When I saw this one, and the price with shipping being $20 I couldn't believe my luck.  It's b6 and that is just a bit smaller than A5.  I like A5 size and this is so close that it's perfect.  I am so happy I found the right size notebooks for it.  I just want to make another folder.  Since I have three inserts, I would like to have three folders.  I have the two folders I made in the Foxy.  One is behind notebook two and the other is at the back behind notebook 3.  I want to make one more and put it behind notebook one.  They are so easy to make with file folders that I already have on hand.  :)
