Trees Feed

Sunday evening post

So, we went out and were going to eat at Red Robin, but there was a wait because of low staffing.  Cracker Barrel is right across the lot, so we went there, still a wait but a shorter one and plenty of staff.  We looked in the gift shop while waiting and I found something to buy! :D  This is Stumpers:

Look at the wittle Corgo! <3 We went to a Goodwill and my friend went to a Pawnshop.  We also got Krispy Kreme donuts. YUM!!!!  I took a nice beach walk and now I'm back in the room trying to cool off. I'm roasting. It's rather humid out. I only planned to walk to the water and back, but I ended up walking down to the hotel we have stayed at before and came back.  I took a picture of a cute little Palm tree to share too!

This was in between the Krispy Kreme and the Cook out.  Baby Palm! :)

Friday and thrifting

My friend and I went for our Friday thrift trip today. We went to Reidsville, Walkertown, Mayodan, and Martinsville.  All those places and I didn't get a lot.  At the Salvation Army in Reidsville, I got a flash drive new in the package for $3. I didn't get anything at the Reidsville Goodwill.  We went to Walkertown and I found a Starbucks tumbler that I wanted. Sadly while we were in there their power went out and they would not ring up anyone. They wouldn't even do cash transactions.  It was very annoying.  We waited a bit hoping it would come back up but no.  That was frustrating.

We left there and went to the Mayodan Goodwill. I found two bags with stuff for $2 each. In between the two bags, there were craft supplies, two packages of pencils, a multi-pen, a ruler, and three loose pencils. The funniest thing is, two of the loose pencils are promo items for my bank! I thought that was pretty cool. There were also three brand new (at least I am pretty sure) Sakura gelly roll white pens! Very neat.  We went on from there to Martinsville and I only found one thing there.  I found a DayTimer planner for $1. Not a huge haul, but some good finds. At the Mayodan Goodwill, I found four Fossil bags! I didn't buy any of them. One I already had the exact same back and the other three were nice but they were not bags I would carry myself.  Yes, I could have gotten them to re-sell, but I'm a bit low on funds this month as I just had to pay taxes on my car. Yikes! I took a picture of a cute little tree at the Goodwill in Reidsville:

Munzee in the park in the fall

I went out today to find a Munzee in Ballou park that I somehow missed all this time!  I found it and while I was there, I took a picture of these two cute little trees in their autumn glory. (click on them to see them full size)

I thought they were just so cute.  I was able to finish up this weekly mission of the Zeeops and found out that there is yet another week! Hopefully I can complete that too.  It's fun and I'm getting more points and badges and things in Munzee.  Lots of fun for me and it was a perfect day for it. Sunny and just plain nice out there.

I'm not dead!

Yes, I know it's been several days since I posted here.  Sorry about that.  I didn't mean to go so many days without posting.  I actually was going to post last night and then it was after midnight. Oops! Anyway, I'm posting now, so I guess that is okay.

I changed the font of the blog today.  I made it the same font throughout. I like it.  I might change it to some other font in a day or two, but it's good for now.  I love fonts and it's fun to try out all different ones.  This is a Google font and it's called Quicksand.  I tried out about 15 different fonts before picking this one.

I ran out to the park today just to get out for a bit.  I sat near my friend Piney the pine tree.  I noticed this little tree that is near him.  It's a cute little tree and I took this picture:

PXL_20200926_180519691.MP

It's going to be showing off it's colors soon.  I love fall!  I'll try to remember to take a picture when it's changing later on.

At home, I decided to finally put my Halloween decorations out.  It took an hour to get them out and put them out.  Here is a picture of the majority of them.  Those boxes in this picture? All stuffed with stuff. It is a LOT of stuff and this doesn't even include all the stuff I have out all year.  This picture does not do justice to the amount of stuff I have. lol

Point Blur_Sep262020_184610

The ceramic / glass /wax / wooden /plastic Jack o lantens are in the boxes.  I have some in each type I mentioned.  By the way that white smushed looking thing is a ghost! lol He hangs and will make noise when he has batteries.  He goes, "WooooOOOooo!" :P

Whoo Hoo!

No, I didn't get the mower going, I didn't get the lawn mown either.  What did I do?  Well, I got my car registered and the tags transferred from the old car to the new car. Yay! My car is now street legal.  I was going to get a Virginia inspection sticker, (I have a NC inspection but they don't give stickers) but the place I go to was closed for the week. I have a backup place but by the time we got to the first place, the other would be closed. My friend got off early today and we drove an hour away to a DMV express location that took 'walk-ins'.  They did everything from inside, but I was able to get. my business taken care of. I'm so glad!  I, of course, had to take it out for a bit this evening.  So smooth!  I love it.

While I was out, I took it through the car wash and got some food.  I'm going to have to get used to the new interior.  My cup holder is not in the same place, my window buttons are in a different place too.  I love that it has the controls for the radio on the steering wheel!  I listened to my iPod while driving and that was fun. :)

I stopped by the park and my favorite tree and deployed a virtual Munzee. I also got a Pokestop while out.  I was going by the post office, but I figured that I could do that tomorrow when I went to get the inspection sticker.  I need to get a book of stamps, too!  I want to get my letters caught up.  I might even go to Starbucks and hit and the drive-thru. Who knows? :)

By the way, the DMV Express office that we went to is in a VERY rural area.  These are pictures from where we were in line.  We thought the GPS was tricking us. lol

One more Munzee post. :p

I went out and did some Munzee playing today!  I looked at my list of deployed ones and found that I have several that need to be replaced.  I was able to replace one. I'll get the others on another day.  I deployed five new ones!  That was fun.  I really like the ones they sent.  They are lightly laminated and they should hold up a lot better than the ones I do myself.  I ordered some more. I still have some, but I can get a sheet of 50 for $6 so I did that. It will take me a long time to use that many so they will last forever.

It was fun to go out and do it.  It was a deploy trip, but I did find one that I haven't captured before, so I did that.  I was going to deploy one there but it said there was one close by, I found it and captured it.  I also deployed my very first virtual one. :). Luckily, it wasn't too hot out there.  My car didn't give me any issues.

Since I was still out and about, I got lunch while out and ate in the shade of these trees and bushes:

It was nice to sit there and eat. This is a parking lot that is right at a part of the Riverwalk trail.  I noticed a sign nearby so when I finished eating, I deployed a Munzee there!  It was a nice afternoon.  I came home and took the trash out to the can and then I carried branches to the street.  I had been meaning to put them out forever and finally remembered today.  They pick up yard debris on Monday which is the same day they pick up trash.  I don't like to put it out there too many days ahead of time.

I have my bed linen in the dryer, the clothes I washed yesterday are now put away, and my hair is nice and clean.  All I have to do now is to put the linens back on the bed and decide what I'm fixing for dinner. I'm going to rest and read for a bit and wait for my linens to dry. :)

Walking on Wednesday!

It rained a bit today and it was a little chilly at times.  My friend and I walked anyway!  We had planned to walk today and it was a little up in the air because of the rain, but it had stopped and cleared off for the most part.  We went to the trail and walked.  It was a bit cool and I should have carried my hoodie, but I didn't. It was okay though.  We got in a nice walk.

While I was waiting for my friend to pick me up, I took a picture of the sky over my house.  I love the way the green trees look against the sky. So pretty!

Oh yeah!

I was very late getting to my writing today but I still got it done and I wrote over 1700 words and I hit the 10,000 word mark. Yeah, boi! That was fun and I actually had to stop since it was so late.  I have a lot of good stuff for tomorrow, too!

My Kindle case was supposed to be delivered today.  I got an update from USPS that said, "it could not be delivered". That means the mail person didn't even try.  Hopefully, it will come tomorrow.  The Kindle itself still hasn't shipped. lol. The case wasn't supposed to arrive until Wednesday so I'm hoping the Kindle will get here earlier too.

I was watching a lot of Starbucks cards on eBay.  They were not buy it now but an actual auction.  I got a notification that it was ending soon and decided to bid.  I won! Yeah!  I'll, of course, show pictures when I get them.  There are a few really cool ones in there.  A couple of rare ones. I love getting new cards.

It rained for a brief bit today and afterward, the sky was so pretty.  I took a few pictures. Look at this:

I love that beautiful dark blue sky with the fresh greenery on the spring trees!

Friday again!

I got my walk in at my regular time and it was HOT.  I came home and took off all my sweaty clothes and cooled off for a bit.  I needed to go to the grocery store and I didn't want to wait until too late as they would have been a LOT busier.  I got in, got what I needed and got home.  I forgot two things.  One, my granola bars that I get every month for breakfasts.  I also forgot that I was going to get some popsicles. I bought a box of the fancy ones last month and they were so good as a cold treat.  I was going to buy some of the regular cheaper ones, but I totally forgot. D'oh!  Oh well, I'll get the granola bars and popsicles on another trip.  I was able to get there and back with no issues. My car started up at the store so that was good.

I came home and was putting my groceries away and I got hotter than I did on my walk. LOL!  I got those done and my friend texted me saying he was bringing me a couple of sausage biscuits, fries, and a Coke. I said, whoo hoo since I was tired from walking and shopping. I ate one biscuit and the fries and saved the other biscuit for another meal. Yummy!

After eating, I finished the puzzle.  It didn't take too long to do that as I didn't have a lot left.  I'll start the last new one I have tomorrow or Sunday.  I am not sure about tomorrow yet as I have a graduation to go to in the morning and I have to be up early.  I hate to get up early.  D'oh!  Oh well, I'll live.  I'll just get my friend to take me to Starbucks. LOL!

I am done with everything I need to do for today.  Well, almost.  I have to pick out an outfit for tomorrow, make sure it fits and looks okay and lay it out.  I have a skirt in mind, but I need to see if I have a shirt that will go with it.  I'm not sure I do! If not, I'll have to settle for something else.  Right now, I'm sitting under the hair bonnet hair dryer drying my hair.  With the heat, it gets dirtier quicker so I'm washing it more often!

Bonus picture today.  I took this in the park as I walked through it on my walk.  It looked so pretty against the sky, I stopped to take a picture.

Spring time and puzzles

I got in my walk today.  It was overcast for the whole walk, and the wind really got up towards the end.  I was a bit afraid I was going to get rained on, but I didn't.  It never rained at all today as far as I know.  It might tonight for a bit as they are predicting possible thunderstorms, but it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow, so I won't have to worry about rain while walking then!

I didn't get a lot more done on the puzzle.  All that sky is pretty daunting.  I did get a little done. I also took a couple of pictures of my walk today that I wanted to share.  One of some cool looking mushrooms in the park.  When I first was walking up on them, I thought they were stones.  Then, latter, I noticed one of the blooming spring trees had shed most of it's blossoms and they were a blanket below it.

Pretty, yes?  I thought so.  I haven't done much since coming home from my walk.  I worked on the puzzle off and on.  I think I need to get out the chess board to put the rest of the pieces in the box on.  I think it would make working it easier.  I did find some pieces today by just shuffling through the box!  I found the pieces I was looking for last night and now the lighthouse is complete.

I did forget one thing last night, though.  I didn't do any words for NaNo!  It hit me and I was like, D'oh!  I hit 10,000 words tonight, so I'm half way there so I'm happy with that.  I still can't believe I totally forgot last night. Oops!

I did my next week's layout in my bullet journal.  I had that on today's 'to do' list in my bujo.  I washed my bed linen and I just need to put it back on the bed.  I'll do that in a bit. I did my French lesson too.  I might work on the puzzle a  bit more tonight. I'm not sure yet.  We'll see how it goes.  I have a feeling this is not going to be easy to finish! :p

Il Neige! (It’s snowing)

Oh boy is it snowing here.  When I went to bed last night, it hadn’t started.  I was thinking it wasn’t going to be that big of a deal. I was wrong. LOL!  It is crazy out there.  Here is a picture I took on my iPad.  The camera on it isn’t as good as on my phone, but it’s not too bad.  I have pictures on my phone, too, but I’m typing this up on the iPad. Here is a picture of the backyard.

23DDA108-67B5-498D-85DD-54F04382E526

It’s pretty deep out there and it’s still steadily snowing!  I am watching it from my bedroom window as I type this. So pretty.  I love snow so much.  I may go out in the yard later and see how that is. I might not though. It’s so deep, I might get lost. :p

I just finished my second cup of coffee for the day and I’m ready for another. :)

Tree down!

Well, not the whole tree, just a huge branch that could make it's own tree!  It rained HARD last night.  Today, I looked out in my backyard and saw this:

20180725_112953_Burst01

I don't have a chain saw.  I just have a hand saw.  It took two trips out to work on it but this is the result:

20180725_172022
20180725_172022

That was a lot of hard work, let me tell you!  I also got in my walk and did my workouts.  Go me! :p . The big branch that is left is going to have to stay for a bit.  It is too hard to saw with my little saw.  I have a friend with .a chain saw.  Hopefully he'll come and cut it into manageable pieces!  I'm glad the worst of it is done and the branches are at the street!

Saturday storm?

Well, I was all dressed and heading out my door today for my walk when I heard thunder.  Well, I thought it was thunder! I heard it again and really thought it was thunder, so I decided to put my walk off.  I came in, took off my earbuds, and sat down on the sofa.  I kept waiting for the storm that didn't happen!  I am guessing some of the neighbors were doing something that was really loud and I just mistook it for thunder.  I have no clue.  By the time I realized it wasn't thunder, it was too late to go on my walk and stay on schedule.  What did I do instead?  Well, I mowed part of the lawn that needed it and planted two trees!  On my walk yesterday, a guy stopped me and asked if I liked flowers and plants.  He said someone gave him the two little saplings and he didn't have anywhere to put them.  I took them home with me.  One is an Oak, but I am not sure what the other is.  It didn't have an id tag on it.  I have an app that you can snap a picture of the leaf and it'll id the tree.  I plan to do that tomorrow.  I was going to do it today, but I never got around to it.

I did my workouts at the usual time and my French lesson also.  I had my lunch and then headed out for my walk.  It was a lot later than usual, but it was pretty nice.  It was cooler than it would have been earlier in the day.  I got in my regular route.  I came home and sat down to cool off.  Even though it was later and cooler, it was still rather warm!  It's been overcast all day and I think it's supposed to rain tomorrow.  I just hope it will be nice and hold off until after my walk!

Wednesday walks and things

So, it was overcast but not raining when I got up today.  Guess what it was doing when I started walking?  Yup, you guessed it, raining!  Luckily it didn't last too long and I was able to walk without using my umbrella after a bit.  There was a big power outage along my trail.  Seems a tree fell over last night and took out a couple of power poles!  The businesses along my route were all dark and closed.  I walked past the Hardee's and there were people in the drive thru all the way around the building.  There were no lights or people inside.  I don't know how they thought they would get any service. I just shook my head and walked on!

They had the tree and the poles mostly cleared up when I got to that point.  I had to cross the street because the sidewalk was blocked on the side I usually go down, but that was it.  I noticed that at the busy intersections, they had generators hooked up to the street lights to keep traffic moving.  I was an interesting walk!

As for my Fitbit, I guess I'm going to have to learn to deal with the fact that it's just not going to give me as many steps as my One did.  It's really frustrating.  I feel like I'm working so much harder just to get to 15,000 which is what I set for myself in a day.  I used to get home from a walk and have either right under or right over 13,000.  Now, I get home with 11,000 if I am lucky!  I have done all the fixes I can think of.  I changed my stride length, I wear the Fitbit in the right place.  I don't know what else to do!  I did see that someone said they had the same issues and after a couple of weeks, it seemed to work itself out.  I'm hoping this will happen for me, too!  I love the Charge 2 and I don't want to have to start over again.

I got a teal Fitbit branded band today.  I like the after market bands I have, and I will order more, but I wanted a Fitbit branded teal one since that is the color I wanted for my Charge 2.  I just wish Target had had the teal ones!  I do love purple and the plum is so nice, but teal is my color. ^_^

It cleared off after I got home, of course! lol  I did my workouts.  Abs today.  Not too bad, but the cardio workout was modified because some of the moves and my foot pain are not compatible!  I decided that I would mow a bit more of the lawn.  I probably should have waited until tomorrow to let it dry, but it cut fine.  I have one more section to go and I'll get it another day.  I wanted to mow to get in more steps! lol  I am at 18,047 at the moment.  I probably won't get a lot more tonight as it's already after 11.

Oh!  After my walk, when I'm at my most tired and my feet are killing me, my friend called.  She said her mom had a gas line leak earlier and the police and fire department and all kinds of other people were up at her house and she couldn't get her on the phone and would I go check on her.  I knew her mom was okay since I walked right by there and didn't see anything when I came home.  I walked up there and her mom was on the phone.... to her. ~_~;;;  I got to see and love on her mom's dog Roxie though so it wasn't a wasted trip. I love me some Roxie.  She is a little cutie and one of the pups I dog sit for sometimes.

I  finished the true crime book I was reading last night and I've started on another.  This one is another by M. William Phelps.  I love his books!  Speaking of true crime, did you see that they caught the Golden State killer today?  I remember that case from Unsolved Mysteries and I saw a show about it on HLN while at the beach.

So tired!

So, I got in my regular walk today.  I came home and did my workouts.  My friend called and asked if I wanted to go for a walk on the trail we found.  I did, so we did.  We walked four miles total.  I am at almost 30,000 steps for today on my Fitbit!  I will hit that before bed as I'm less than 300 steps from it.

Our walk was on the same trail, but we got on at a different point.  This has to be my favorite.  There was a bridge over a stream that was beautiful!  There was a lot of pretty trees and other things along the trail too.  Definitely my favorite part that we've been on so far.  Here are a few of the pictures that I took:

It's so pretty on this part of the trail.  It's going to be even prettier this fall! :)
