True Crime Feed

And so it goes...

I am suffering from cool notebook syndrome.  My little Moleskine Cahiers are so nice I don't know how to go about using them! LOL! I have this issue with a lot of my notebooks.  I really want to make my TN a TN for learning French.  I just have to decide how to go about it.  I was thinking of one notebook for notes while taking lessons.  (Words I have trouble with, things I didn't understand, etc.) and the other two for certain things.  I just haven't decided on those things yet!  I DID put an address label in one of the cahiers.  Progress, I guess?

In other news, I have been writing on my fic every day.  I figure it's good practice for NaNo.  I do need to do some more prep for NaNo but not too much.  I have the idea of the book in my head.  I just need to decide on what the main thing will be.  If my male skater is hurt, I have to research that.  If I do the stalking story, that will be easy peasy.  I read and watch enough true crime to have that one in the bag. LOL!  I will probably do the stalking and the injury in another book.  Who knows with me?

I have been playing Munzee every day for the past couple of weeks.  They have a Zeeops event going on and I've been able to do everything so far.  Tomorrow is the last day of this week's tasks.  I hope I'm able to do it and get the bonus. If you complete every day you get an extra perk at the end.  It's been fun and I've had a lot of fun deploying Munzees.

Kindle Unlimited

I finished my current read today and decided to give Kindle Unlimited a try. I already have four books downloaded from it.  Two true crime, a new zombie book, and the second book of a series I read the first book of a week or so ago.  Sadly the book I just finished and the one series before that are not on Kindle unlimited, but there seem to be a lot of interesting books.  I might find some new authors and that is always a good thing.  For now, I'm going to enjoy my free three month access to books!

Sunday

Well, let's see.  I have gotten a few things done today. Not a lot, but some. :p My bed linen is in the dryer waiting to go back on my bed.  I have washed and dried my hair and the laundry that I washed yesterday has been put away.  I meant to do it last night, I just never got around to it.

I have been reading on my current true crime book today.  I was about to give up on it when it took an unexpected turn and now I am pretty sure I'm going to finish it!  It had gotten to a trial and that part was boring, but then there was a mistrial and then a major thing happened and then it got good again!  As soon as I get the linens back on the bed, I'm going to read more.  I had to stop to get today's Camp NaNo writing done.  I had to do a bit of research first for something I am planning on adding.  I am now at 34,000 + words! Yay!

How I'm using Evernote today.  I send the articles I found on the research to Evernote so I can have a copy and review them as needed.

Good Gravy Marie!

I was about to let the day pass without posting. I got groceries today in the rain and then voted and that wore me out. lol. After it stopped raining, I went out and trimmed some greenery and dead things in the yard and took the branches to the street.  I ran back out later to get gas as my gas light was coming on and going off earlier.  It acts up when it's low.

So, I didn't start a puzzle today since I was doing other things, I will start one tomorrow.  I did get a present today! My friend texted me a picture of a shirt a few days ago and I only replied, "Mighty Need!"  Guess what he brought by today? Yes, the shirt.  Yes, I'm into true crime, yes, I find serial killers fascinating.  Yes, I have a 'favorite' known serial killer. My favorite unknown would be Zodiac, but I digress.  In any case, this is what my friend brought me today. Now I have to see if I have the nerve to wear it! :D

Fall?

Well, yesterday it was in the 90's here and today when I looked at my weather app it was 56˚!  No, seriously! It was cool enough today that I was able to turn the air off.  I am not taking it out of the window just yet, because it could get hot again.  Who knows with this crazy weather!

I went out this afternoon and went to a local store that makes their own chicken salad.  The stuff is amazing.  I got a container of that, a little smidge of country ham, and an orange. They have a little bit of everything in there. It's a small, local business that has been there for a long time.  I love the chicken salad and I hadn't gotten any in awhile.  It was delicious!

I didn't do much today.  I watched a ton of episodes of Web Of Lies (It's a show on Investigation Discovery that I love) I worked the puzzle too.  I didn't finish it even though it's only 300 pieces and they are big pieces.  I decided to finish tomorrow because the puzzle is really busy.  Lots of colors.  You'll see when I post a picture with this post.

I put my outside Halloween decorations out today.  With the cooler weather, it felt more like October and fall.  I put out a little flag, a ghost on a pole, and my two scarecrows.  I also lit up the electric pumpkins that I keep in the window in my living room.  My house has an old picture window and they look so cute in there!  I still want to get a real pumpkin before Halloween.  I usually get one every year and keep it in my room until it starts to go bad.  They usually last well into Spring, but last year's didn't.  I hope this years lasts longer!

Bonus stars are fun!

So, I didn't walk today as I had planned.  The funny thing is, the rain stopped right about the time I would be going for my walk! LOL  Since I had already decided to skip the walk today, I did just that!  I went out later and hit a Pokestop as this was day seven of a streak and I didn't want to lose my streak!  While I was out, I found myself at Starbucks.  Today and tomorrow, they are giving you 20 bonus stars for any holiday drink.  I got a caramel brulee and it was delicious!  I came home and went in the basement. No luck on getting the pilot light lit on the water heater, but I got nice cold feet. :( .

I decided to wash my hair because it's been bothering me.  When I washed it before, I didn't realize until later that I didn't get all the shampoo out and it was driving me crazy. That water was COLD.  Brrrr.  While I was washing it and freeing my head off, I had the hair bonnet hair dryer on and warming up.  It felt so nice to get under that thing, let me tell you!

I thought about putting up my Yule tree, but last year, a lot of my light strands were faulty..  Either part of the string worked or none of them worked. I went to Target online and got five boxes of lights.  I went to the drive up to pick them up, but no one ever came out. My car was trying to overheat, so I pulled into a another parking spot and went in.  I picked up my lights and headed out.  The lady said the drive up pick up should have worked, but it didn't!  I got my lights and headed home.  I had put the tree up before leaving the house.  Just the actual tree.  When I got home, I tested the five strands of lights I had from last year and only two of them worked!  One strand worked only half way.  In other words, half of the strand would light up and the other half didn't! The one strand that did completely work was an old string and the blue lights weren't as dark as the newer ones. I didn't us that one.  I had enough with the five I bought and the half strand.  I think it looks lovely.  What do you think?

I also did my French and got 1777 words for NaNo!  One of my library books that I had a hold on came in today so I am going to switch to that one on my Kindle.  The one I'm currently reading can be renewed anytime.  I want to get this one that is on a limited time schedule first.

Sunday Starbucks!

I truly wanted to go to Starbucks today and take my laptop and get in my NaNoWriMo writing in.  With my car acting up like it did on Friday, I decided that if my car would start at home, it would probably be a good idea to NOT turn it off until I got home! lol  I drove over to Starbucks and decided that I would get something different.  I got a Peppermint white mocha.  I hadn't had one in ages.  I had forgotten how good they are, but I also had forgotten how sweet they are.  Yowza! LOL . It was delicious, though!

I came straight home from there.  I have been doing chores.  I got in my walk today at my usual time.  I decided to wash my hair earlier in the day so I had to warm up some water. lol . Since it was cold and my water heater is 'off' at the moment, I did NOT want to wash my hair in cold water.  While I was folding and putting away a small load of laundry, I put a pot on the stove and filled it with water.  After I got the clothes folded and put away, the water was nice and warm.  I used it to wash my hair over the sink.  that way, I didn't have to use it straight from the faucet and freeze my poor head off. :p . I got that done and then immediately went to my room and dried it.  I walk around with a wet head in summer, but not in the fall when it's only in the low 50's!

I have my bed linen in the dryer and I'm pretty sure it's done and ready to go back on the bed, but I haven't gotten that far yet.  I've done my French lesson and I'm doing my blog post now.  Once I get the bed linen back on the bed, I only need to do my writing for today's NaNo.

I did some work in my current bullet journal today too. I already had this coming week's layout done, so I did the next week's.  I'll l have to put in my December habit tracker soon.  I'll do that later today or in a few days.  It's just the 18th, so I have some time!

I'm still finding great crime shows on Prime, but they are short. Usually it's just one season or so of a show.  I have a lot of them loaded up so I should be okay for awhile in any case.  I hope they add more shows.  I love true crime!

Saturday's post.

Thrilling title, I know. :p . I walked today.  It was overcast so it wasn't too hot and that was nice.  I don't mind walking so much when it isn't scoring hot.  I got my walk in and came home and relaxed until lunch time.  I fixed lunch and called a friend. I wanted to go to her house and drop off something and then run some errands.  She wasn't home, so I went waited and did some things here.  When she got home, I went up there and was going to do what I needed to do up there and then do my errands.  Well, that didn't happen! I got there and she got me to ride with her somewhere. I did and then we ran back by her house to get her son to take him by McDonald's to get some food.  We did that and then went back to her house. I had to see all the animals, so I did that and then did what I needed to do. After that, I ended up staying a lot longer than I had planned.  My hubby and I discussed books.  He gave me those first three books that I read recently so we were talking about those and serial killers and true crime.  It was a good time. lol

After I left there, I came home and relaxed a few minutes before fixing some dinner.  I did that and watched a couple of episodes of Crime Stories.  I just finished those and did my French.  I have charged my Fitbit and now I'm going to do some more notes and prep work for Nano.

Oh! Cassey Ho, also know online as Blogilates got married today to her long time boyfriend. ^_^ Her brand Popflex Active sent all the people registered at the site a gift card today to celebrate the wedding. I ordered a cool shirt!  It's a black t-shirt with Pop Pilates on it.  I love it! ^_^ . It was $22 and I had the $10 gift cards.  Yay!

No sale!

My anime cel didn't not sell on ebay.  I relisted it tonight. I plan to put some more items up in a few days.  I want to make some money to pay the bill that caused so much trouble.  You know, the bill that wasn't mine to begin with? ~_~;  Anything I make will go towards that.

I walked today and believe me, I did not want to.  I wanted so badly to just skip in and lie in bed and watch true crime shows or just read.  I was glad to get in my walk though! I also watching true crime shows and read. lol . I finished book five and now I'm on to book six.  I've really enjoyed this series and I'm going to explore this authors other works.  I see he has written several more books, so I'll be looking into those.

After I finish this last one of his, I'll go back to the Ted Bundy book I had started before I got sucked into these.  It's a book of prison interviews with him.  I have read a lot of books on Bundy, this will be something different.  He is, by far, my favorite serial killer.  Yes, you can have a favorite.  My second favorite would be Zodiac.  I've read everything I can get on him, too.

Now that I've totally freaked any of my blog readers out, I'll close and go back to my book. lol . ^_^.

Wednesday post time!

Boy was it hot on today's walk! I swear it was a lot hotter than yesterday.  I made it home and had to cool off a while before I could do my workouts.  I got those in and my French lesson.  I need to do today's squat challenge.  After lunch, I went to the bank on a quick errand.  I didn't stay out because my car is still acting up badly.  I was able to make it there and back, so that was good.  They are re-paving the streets around the bank (and along my walking route) and it's a big mess!  I will be glad when they are done with that.  I think they might get it done quicker if everyone was working.  I'll see one or two guys actually working and five or six standing os sitting watching.  Really?  It's so annoying.

Right now, I'm getting my blog post in so I'm not rushing later to do it.  I am also watching Homicide Hunter.  I am thinking of working on my pen pal letters tonight although I'm not sure.  As long as i get them all written by the weekend like I said before, I should be good.  I don't want to get behind again!  All the letters I got yesterday are from regular pals except one.  I got a letter from a potential new one! I sent her full friendship book back and she wants to be pals. Yay!

I'm still listening to the Oz books on my walk.  They are so good. I love these series.  I am not sure what I'm going to listen to after these are done. I'll search Librivox and see what else I can find.  I think at one time, I got Dracula on there.  I'd like to listen to that again.  They also used to have, and may still have, A Houseboat on the River Styx.  That one is excellent.  It's been a long time since I listened to or read it.  I'll have to look that up!

Missing that view!

Yes, I'm missing that beautiful view of the ocean.  I also miss being able to walk outside and walk on the beach!  I hope to get back there soon.  I still haven't uploaded the majority of my trip pics to the Macbook.  The reason being is I'm running out of room on it!  I did clear off a bunch of stuff to make more room, but I really need a new computer.  I'm looking at different used/refurbished ones online.  I hop;e to get one that is newer, but not so new that it's expensive.  I've found some really decent ones in the four hundred range.  I have to pay off my Fitbit and then I'll have $500 worth of credit at Paypal.  I would love to have a brand new Macbook Pro, but that isn't going to happen!

I got in my walk today and it wasn't too hot.  I didn't have any stops on the way back, so that was good.  I came home and did my workouts, did my French, had lunch, and then got some things together.  I went to the grocery store and got my monthly groceries.  They are in a remodel and they were actually taking things out of the freezer to put in the back so they can take out the old freezers and put in new ones. ~_~;  I couldn't even get all the things I needed.  That was frustrating!  Another thing that made me frustrated was the fact that I earned $5 in rewards last month that should have come off of my groceries today.  I didn't get any discount at all. :(  I was not happy!

I did make it to the post office.  I had a stack of letters.  I'm going to write everyone by Sunday at the latest.  I'm not going to allow myself to get behind again.  I have two letters from before the beach trip. One, from my favorite pal, I actually took with me to the beach and still didn't write! I'll definitely be sending her some goodies to make up for it!  If by chance she is reading this, the initials are AB and she is from New York state. I promise to write soon!

In other news, I actually mentioned this in the post that disappeared at the beach.  I forgot to add it to the repost! I'm following along with Cassey from @blogilates and I'm going her #100SquatChallenge I missed day one, but doubled up on day two and I've been doing every day since.  OUCH!  LOL I love squats, but I'm so feeling it!

I ran out of episodes of a another true crime show on Hulu! lol Today, I started watching episodes of Homicide Hunter.  I used to watch it on ID, but got behind on the episodes some time ago.  I'm watching them on Hulu.  It starts at season 4 and I'm pretty sure I was in or done with season 3 before I got behind.  I'll watch all of the episodes they have and go from there. I just looked and I have 49 more episodes after the one I'm about to watch.  I'll be good for a while! ^_^

Wednesday walks and things

So, it was overcast but not raining when I got up today.  Guess what it was doing when I started walking?  Yup, you guessed it, raining!  Luckily it didn't last too long and I was able to walk without using my umbrella after a bit.  There was a big power outage along my trail.  Seems a tree fell over last night and took out a couple of power poles!  The businesses along my route were all dark and closed.  I walked past the Hardee's and there were people in the drive thru all the way around the building.  There were no lights or people inside.  I don't know how they thought they would get any service. I just shook my head and walked on!

They had the tree and the poles mostly cleared up when I got to that point.  I had to cross the street because the sidewalk was blocked on the side I usually go down, but that was it.  I noticed that at the busy intersections, they had generators hooked up to the street lights to keep traffic moving.  I was an interesting walk!

As for my Fitbit, I guess I'm going to have to learn to deal with the fact that it's just not going to give me as many steps as my One did.  It's really frustrating.  I feel like I'm working so much harder just to get to 15,000 which is what I set for myself in a day.  I used to get home from a walk and have either right under or right over 13,000.  Now, I get home with 11,000 if I am lucky!  I have done all the fixes I can think of.  I changed my stride length, I wear the Fitbit in the right place.  I don't know what else to do!  I did see that someone said they had the same issues and after a couple of weeks, it seemed to work itself out.  I'm hoping this will happen for me, too!  I love the Charge 2 and I don't want to have to start over again.

I got a teal Fitbit branded band today.  I like the after market bands I have, and I will order more, but I wanted a Fitbit branded teal one since that is the color I wanted for my Charge 2.  I just wish Target had had the teal ones!  I do love purple and the plum is so nice, but teal is my color. ^_^

It cleared off after I got home, of course! lol  I did my workouts.  Abs today.  Not too bad, but the cardio workout was modified because some of the moves and my foot pain are not compatible!  I decided that I would mow a bit more of the lawn.  I probably should have waited until tomorrow to let it dry, but it cut fine.  I have one more section to go and I'll get it another day.  I wanted to mow to get in more steps! lol  I am at 18,047 at the moment.  I probably won't get a lot more tonight as it's already after 11.

Oh!  After my walk, when I'm at my most tired and my feet are killing me, my friend called.  She said her mom had a gas line leak earlier and the police and fire department and all kinds of other people were up at her house and she couldn't get her on the phone and would I go check on her.  I knew her mom was okay since I walked right by there and didn't see anything when I came home.  I walked up there and her mom was on the phone.... to her. ~_~;;;  I got to see and love on her mom's dog Roxie though so it wasn't a wasted trip. I love me some Roxie.  She is a little cutie and one of the pups I dog sit for sometimes.

I  finished the true crime book I was reading last night and I've started on another.  This one is another by M. William Phelps.  I love his books!  Speaking of true crime, did you see that they caught the Golden State killer today?  I remember that case from Unsolved Mysteries and I saw a show about it on HLN while at the beach.

Morning Starbucks!

So, we are under a severe wind advisory until tomorrow at about 11 am.  When I first woke up this morning, the power was out.  It was still out when I actually got up.  No power means my Keurig won't work.  OH NO!!!!!!!  I needed a boost, and I waited awhile and still no power.  I dressed and went to Starbucks!  I had a free drink on my card, so I got a venti blonde vanilla latte.  Delicious.  Not as good as my beloved Cascara, but it was good.  I also got a multigrain bagel for my breakfast.  It was a good breakfast.

I came back home and noticed a utility worker in the neighborhood working on the pole.  I was home a little while and then the power came back.  Yay!  I am hoping it doesn't go out again, but the wind is still crazy, so it might.  The wind was so powerful that when I was driving back from Starbucks, my car actually MOVED to the right a bit.  I decided that even though the sky was  clear and beautiful, I was not walking today!  Too many chances to get hit my falling tree branches or flying debris.  I hate to miss a walk on a pretty day like that, but I'd rather be safe!

I just had my afternoon coffee.  The cup I usually have after getting home from my walk.  I am going to do my workouts at some point.  Not sure exactly when.  It's stretch day, so they don't take as long as there are less of them.  I am sitting at my desk looking out my window as I'm posting.  My neighbors wind chimes are going nuts across the street.  I bet it sounds pretty nice out there.  I bet my own wind chimes are moving around on my porch too.

Yeah, this post is all over the place. lol  Sorry.  I woke up tired and with a headache, so I'm seriously considering taking a quick nap!  I probably won't be able to sleep though.  Plus, if I get in a good nap, I won't sleep well tonight.  I guess I'll just watch more episodes of Forensic Factor on Hulu.  I'm almost done with the episodes they have.

Two walks today?

Yes, I did!  I went on my usual walk and then came home and relaxed a bit because I knew my friend was coming to pick me up for walk number two!  We went down to the Riverwalk trail and walked.  Afterwards, we got some food and then I came home and did my workouts.  I am tired! I am hoping to sleep really well tonight!

I am going to post this and then play some Pocket Camp and read more on the book I'm currently on.  It's a true crime book about the 'Pizza bomber' It's pretty interesting.  It's funny, I haven't heard about this case before I found the ebook at the library.  After I finish it, I'm not sure what I'm going to read next.  I am still thinking of giving Kindle Unlimited a try.  I just need to see what books are available.  I guess since it's free for thirty days, now would be a good time. :P  I'll let you know how I like it.

Phooey!

So, I finished book two of the zombie series today and was hoping to get the next one.  Sadly it isn't available for Prime users, but it is under the Kindle unlimited. I am seriously thinking of giving the Kindle unlimited a trial.  I have not been thrilled with Prime.  The shipping has been bad and there are not a lot of books to choose from.

I walked today even though it was overcast and had rained.  It rained a bit during my walk, but it wasn't too bad.  I only had to use the umbrella for a bit.  I got home and did my workouts.  I had lunch and then I read the rest of the book.  It was good and had a cliff hanger ending, so I really want to read the rest of the series!  I went to the library to see if they had it as a ebook to borrow, but alas, no.  I did find two books that looked interesting and I've borrowed those.  One is about the Borden murders.  As in Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother.  I think that will be a good read. I am going to check in with Pocket Camp and then start on my new book.  I think the weather is supposed to be clear tomorrow or at least no rain.  Yay!  It makes walking so much easier.
