Pup sitting!

My friend called my last night and asked if I would pup sit her mini Doxie, Cocoa, and her mom's terrier, Roxy.  I said, yes, since I love both of the pups.  Well, today, I went to go and pick them up and their supplies and what not.  I only was to keep one.  I love them both, but it is easier with just one at a time. lol  I have Cocoa, the mini Doxie.  She is curled up on the bed next to me at the moment sleeping.  She is such an old sweetheart.  Here are a couple of pictures I took earlier:

Isn't she adorable! When she visits, I put my trunk and a step stool next to my bed so it's easy for her to get up and down from it. ^_^  It's hard to jump on my bed with those cute little stubby legs!  Back before I got the frame bed, I would put the mattress and box springs on the floor.  This is much easier to do and a lot simpler to put back in order after she goes home.

I walked today and it was pretty nasty.  It was colder, which I was expecting.  It was also overcast, BUT it drizzled a bit off and on.  I never used my umbrella, but I did get damp. It was just a sullen drizzle.  It was annoying, but I didn't feel like holding my umbrella, so I didn't!  When I went up to my friends to pick up Cocoa, it was raining a lot.  I used an umbrella then!  They sent me home with some cans of food for her, some treats, and her leash.  They also gave me the leftover barbecue that my friend's husband makes. It's soooooooooooo good!  I had a couple of sammiches of it for my dinner!

I have use of their van while they are gone, so I might just have to go to Starbucks tomorrow for a bit. :p  I don't want to pass up the opportunity to go and not worry about my vehicle.  I also will probably take Cocoa with me and get her a Puppaccino! ^__^  I know she'll love that, and she likes to ride, too!  I will try to remember to go to the post office while I'm out tomorrow and check my box.  I need to reply to the letters I got when I went to the post office last week.  According to Informed delivery, I have a few more letters waiting for me.  I'd like to pick them up.  Perhaps I'll answer them all tomorrow or Sunday and send them out. I'm trying to keep up and not get behind on them this year.

Letters, letters, and more letters!

I walked today and it was pretty nice.  It wasn't too cool out there.  Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow. Boo!  I mailed my letters that I wrote yesterday.  I didn't walk to the post office as my back was hurting early on in my walk.  I did drive down there later today, though.  I had a full box.  I got five pen pal letters and some other stuff.  Four of the letters were from regular pen pals and one was from a potential new one. Yay!  I love getting new pen pals.  That is always a great thing.  Especially if they share interests with me.

I forgot to mention in my posts last night, that I found a tumbler that I really want in Starbucks.  This one is so cool.  I wish they would do a double star day so I could get it and get extra stars.  I don't really need a new tumbler, but I really like this one.  I have a feeling it would be my favorite one.  Of course, by the time I get back over there to buy it, they may have sold it.  It was the only one I saw.  Not sure if it was the only one, or if they had others elsewhere.  If they don't have it, maybe the Starbucks in Target will.  Who knows?

I needed a few items from the grocery store tonight and I ran down and got them.  I should have done that on my trip when I went to the post office, but I didn't even think about it then.  I don't want to tempt fate.  My car has been starting and stopping okay when I go places, but I am not going to go crazy and think it won't have problems starting again.

As for tomorrow, if it does rain as they are calling for, I am not sure what I'm going to do.  I really hate to miss another walk.  I'm hoping it isn't too bad and I can walk, but the city is under a flood warning, so it's probably going to rain a lot.  Phooey on that, I say! Phooey, indeed!

Letters and lattes....

I went to the post office tonight. I needed to check my box so I could see how many letters I have.  I got six new ones.  I also wrote nine letters.  I'm all caught up on the ones I got and now I just have the new ones.  While I was out, I went to Starbucks.  Luckily, they still had some cascara syrup.  The last time I was there, the barista said she thought they were almost out.  When I went tonight, I asked if they still had some.  They said, yes! I got my cascara latte.  When I got to the window, he told me that they had to go in the back and look.  I think I got some syrup from the last bottle.  I'll try to get over there and get more before they run out!

I brought my latte home and wrote my letters.  I have a nice stack of them to mail out on tomorrow's walk.  I'll get to the new ones in a few days. I'm trying to get this year off right and keep up with my letters and answer them quickly.  Of the six I got today, one is from my favorite penpal and one is another new letter from an inmate. ~_~;  I probably will pass on that one.  I have written (and do) write to a few inmates, but it's really not that great.  We don't have anything in common.  Plus, even though I mention in my welcome letter that I'm single and like it that way, they all seem to think I want a boyfriend.  NO THANK YOU!  If I did want a relationship, it sure wouldn't be with someone in jail.

More stress? Yes!

So, today, I get an update from ebay that they aren't going to refund me.  I didn't ask for a refund.  I just wanted the item I requested.  I had to call ebay to get that ball rolling.  I bought a shipping label from USPS and put the purse in a flat rate padded envelope and dropped it in a box tonight.

I realized that I had run out of  mailing tape, so I had to run out and get some on my way to the post office.  I was so close to Starbucks and I didn't think about going because I was so upset over this whole ebay situation.  I really hope I get the purse I actually ordered.  This whole situation has stressed me out.  I've never had this kind of problem on ebay before. :(

What a difference a day makes!

Todau, the sun was out on my walk and it was in the 60's! It was warm enough to walk with short sleeves on. Much nicer than yesterday for sure!

I came home and changed and then went to Family Dollar to get first of the month essentials, I then went to Food Lion and got groceries. I got a lot of goodies, loaded them up, and got back in my car. The car didn't want to start and did the same thing it did that night at Target. The time of the day it was, it was bad for me because my friends were all at work. A nice man pulled in near my car and I asked him if he had jumper cables. He did! He got my car going again. Thank you random stranger!

I got home and put away my groceries. I was in the process of that when my friend texted me and said he was bringing by a couple of hot dogs. I was happy since I wouldn't have to worry about fixing lunch. He brought me two chili hot dogs and a Mountain Dew. Yum! It was nice to sit and eat and just enjoy.

After eating, I paid all my bills and now I'm broke again! I had two extra bills this month. Personal property taxes and the rent on my post office box . Two extra bills did not help!  I still need gas in my car and I need to buy postage stamps. I am so behind on pen pal letters and I will be sending out some holiday cards this month. Luckily, I already have two new boxes of those, I only need the stamps!

My iPad was delivered back to the seller today. Hopefully they'll send the replacement out soon. I'm so ready to set it up and use it. I've been looking at things to add to it online and I found an article that might help me get that one last app over to the iPad! Yay! I hope so. That way, all my favorites will be on the iPad. The screen is such a difference with the iPod touch! Lol

Chilly Willy!

So, it was cooler here today.  I actually wore my jacket at the beginning of my walk.  I didn't have to keep it on very long though.  I got in a good walk and came home.  It was cool in my house.  I'm considering taking the air conditioner out of the window, but I'm a bit afraid to.  It could get hot again.  Our weather is so weird.  I'll probably just keep it in a little longer although I really want to just take it out!  It's dark here now, so I wouldn't do it tonight.  It would be hard to see and I don't want to trap any spiders or anything in there when I shut it up for the season.

I went under my house today and looked to see if the water had gone down. It went down a lot, but it's still too deep for me to light the pilot light on my water heater.  Hopefully by Sunday I can do it.  I went down in flip flops since I knew I'd be in standing water. It came up above my ankles and it was COLD. Brrrr!  I came in, rinsed off my feet, dried them, and put on fuzzy socks. :p

I  checked my email and saw that I had a few pen pal letters at the post office, so I thought I'd run down there and check my box.  It was pretty full.   I had three pen pal letters, a catalog, a bank statement, and some advertisements.  Afterwards, I ran by Starbucks and went through the drive thru and got a latte.  I got another Maple pecan latte.  I like them, but I still don't like them as much as my cascara latte. I should have gotten one of both.  It was bogof today.  I could have put the extra in one of my tumblers and it would have been okay for a few hours.  I know when I used to go and stay at Starbucks for hours, I would get a drink in one of my insulated tumblers and it was hot or at least nice and warm the whole time I was in there.

Last week before the hurricane /tropical storm came through I had to run the air conditioning.  Tonight, I'm sitting here in a hoodie!  I like the cooler weather, but I don't care for cold weather.   Why can't it get cooler gradually instead of just getting cold all at once. Bleah!

OH MY!

So, I walked today and did my workouts.  I did other things too.  I went to the post office.  My box was stuffed!  Look at this pile!

The majority of that was letters or things from pen pals.  There were only three things in there that weren't pen pal related! lol I kept puling stuff out of my box and it just kept coming! :P  I will have to get to work on those asap.  I only have four stamps though and I have three letters from an earlier trip to the post office.  I need stamps! :(

More purse pics....

I was able to get out and take some pictures of my purse today.  Here are a couple: 20180804_154904

It also has a clip on strap so it can be carried cross body.  It's so pretty.  I still can't seem to get a picture of the true color of it. lol . To me it's a deep rose color.

It was sunny today as you can see in these pictures. I was able to walk without worrying about rain.  That was nice, but at the same time, it was really hot.  I came home and cooled off before doing my workouts.  I had to run out for a couple of errands and then came home and I've been here since.  I meant to go to the post office while I was out, but I never made it.  I am planning on writing letters tomorrow.  I might run those and drop them off tomorrow evening and pick up any new ones.  I think I have two or three waiting for me.

No stamps, no mail!

I went to the post office tonight to mail a letter and to check my box.  I had my bank statement and a very familiar looking letter. It was one of the ones I sent out last week!  I forgot to put a stamp on it. LOL . Oops!  I brought it home, opened it, added a note to my pen pal and then put a stamp on it.  I'll mail it on tomorrow walk.

Today's walk was pretty nice.  It was overcast so it wasn't as hot as it usually is.  That was a nice change!  I came home and relaxed a bit before doing my workouts.  I got those and my French done and then had a little time before fixing lunch.  The weather app on my phone said it was an 80% chance of rain on my walk, but it never did rain.  It even got sunny after I came home.  The sky was still mainly clear when I went to the post office, but I noticed it was dark off in the distance.  It's been storming off and on for a while now.  The rain was really coming down, too!  One clap of thunder was so loud, it sounded like someone was outside my window fired a gun. I jumped!  It was extremely loud.  I love storms, but that was crazy!

I am not sure what it is going to be like tomorrow when it's time for me to walk.  Hopefully if it's going to rain, it will wait until later like it did today!  We'll see.  I want to at least get my pen pal letter out since it's been so long since I originally sent it. :p

Hello from the MacBook Pro!

Yes, it finally came and I love it to pieces.  I filmed myself opening the box just in case there was any issues or problmes.  There were none!  I got it turned on and it was already 'setup' with a admin user.  I wanted my own stuff, so I looked at how to do that.  Just go into the command line in the startup.  Since I've used Linux, command line is not a problem!  I got it set up for me and and it's so cool!  I have all the programs on it that I wanted to move over.  The only thing left is PhotoShop Elements and it's installing now.  I'm very happy with this MBP!  It's super fast and all the things that were so slow on my Macbook are not on here.  It's so nice!

So, I did walk today.  The laptop hadn't gotten here before I left, so I decided I should go ahead and walk.  I knew if I didn't walk and it didn't come during the time I could have walked, I would have been so upset!  I walked and was cooling down with a snack on my bed and listening for the FedEx man! lol I didn't hear him, but I got a notification on my phone from an app called Slice that said it had been delivered! I jumped up from the bed and ran to the porch. lol . It was sitting there waiting for me.  I finished my snack and then unboxed it.  Hearing that Mac startup sound was music to my ears.  It's so nice.  I'm in love.

My friend knew it was coming today, but he wanted to go eat.  He said if I could pull myself away from it long enough to eat we'd go. LOL . I told him I could and I did!  I also got him to run me by Food Lion.  Today was the last day of the sale, and I wanted to get some more of my favorite frozen dinners.  They had them for $2.50 and if you buy 5, they take $1 off each.  So I got 10 for fifteen dollars. SCORE!!!!!!  They are so good, they remind me of a restaurant quality pasta dish.

So, he dropped me home and I came right back to the MBP and started installing PSE.  I am going to write letters tonight or tomorrow.  I finally got some stamps today. YAY!  I have so many letters.  I never meant to get this far behind.  Shame on me!
