What the Junk?!

My friend texted me today and asked if we could go to Greensboro in my car to pick up a few items.  I said sure! We stopped in Reidsville on the way over to get food at Bojangles and went to the two thrift stores there since we were there.  I got two candles and a Myrtle Beach coffee mug at Salvation Army.  At Goodwill, I found a cute snowman glass and a Kate Spade 'tackle box' set. It is complete except for four ribbon push pins. It's so cute! The binder clips and washi caught my eye.  When I saw it was only $5 AND it was Kate Spade, I got it!  Luckily it was in the case so it wasn't opened and everything taken out. I'm quite happy with it. I love anything journal-related. Plus, it's Kate Spade! Here is my haul:

So I was looking up something on Facebook and this Fossil notebook came up.  I watched it but I was outbid which made me decide to look up Fossil notebooks.  Boy was I surprised! I didn't know it was a thing. The one I missed out on was a simple spiral-bound notebook, nothing I couldn't live without.  I found one that is a leather cover with a pen holder and pockets and a notebook.  I bought it and it came today! I also ordered a two-pack of Bic four-color pens.  These are exactly like the four-color pens from years ago (they do still make them) but these have nice pastel colors!  Aqua, Lime, Violet, and Pink!  Very nice.  I took a picture of the new notebook with the pack of pens and then a picture inside with the pen test sheet I did.  The cover of the inside notebook was plain with a little Fossil page inside. I made a color copy of that page and glued it to the plain front of the notebook and then decorated it with washi. I really like the way it turned out.   Look at this:

Of course, the colors are not exact.  The first picture I took in natural light at my desk, the second later tonight after dark.  I love it.  I can refill the little cover with notebooks in the future.  it's very cute and I love that it has a pen holder. (It is absolutely big enough for the Bic multi-pen, too!" It's a weird size, but I found a notebook that I have that will fit it.  I am going to cut out a piece of paper the size of the notebook so when I'm out and I see a notebook I think will fit I can check and make sure.  That is what I did when getting notebooks for my A5 TN!  I am so glad I found it.  It has a bit of pen marking on the front as you can see in the first picture. I'm hoping to get that off, but it not, it's not too bad. It might wear off with time.  The seller did mention it in the listing, so I knew about it.  This guy is going to have a nice home now. ^_^

That is basically what this is!  I wanted to protect my desk to keep it from any issues so I looked up desk mats.  I found one that would fit my desk.  The writing surface isn't huge, so I had to measure it to get the right size.  The only thing is, the smallest one height-wise is also the smallest one lengthwise! I wish I could get one that covered the majority of my desk. For now this will do.

It's nice, it's pink on one side and blue on the other.  When I was looking these up and had ordered this one, I remembered I had an old Yoga mat that I didn't use anymore. It wasn't a real thick one and it was blue on one side and green on the other. I was thinking, I could cut this and make my own custom mat for my desk.  There is only one problem. I can't find the Yoga mat!  I moved it from the container I keep my other mats in.  It only holds four and I took this one out to fit those in.  Now, I can't remember what I did with the other mat. D'oh!  I was thinking it would look pretty good on my desk and it would get used, but I can't find it. It's around here somewhere! :p

So, that came yesterday.  Today I got another two packages from Amazon. I ordered a set of washi that has been on my wish list forever and I also ordered some coffee stickers!  They had a set of 40 some (45 I think?) for $4 and some change.  I looked and they had the same display box but it had twice as many stickers for $5 and change.  I ordered that and I'm glad I did. It was two of the first one.  So, an extra set of stickers for just a few dollars more. Good deal! Here are the stickers and the washi:

The stickers are neat. There are two of each design in the box so I have four of each with the two boxes.  The washi is pretty and it's one of my favorite brands I've found on Amazon, it's Moleshine brand.  Always nice quality and very pretty! As you can see on the bottom left of the washi box, they added a skinny roll, too!  

Yesterday, my friend and I went to Reidsville and ate at Pete's and then went thrifting.  At the Goodwill, he found a TomTom GPS and bought it and said it was for me! Yay!  It's an older one, but it works well and it's got a nice size screen.  He had bought me a tiny TomTom at the Goodwill in Longs SC on the way home from the last beach trip and I liked it, but it was hard to push the screen as it was so small.  He saw this one and bought it.  We set it up and it works fine. The maps may be a bit out of date, but they should be okay.  It will still get us where we need to go, just maybe not to a specific restaurant or whatnot if we don't have the address. It will be nice to have a GPS in my car so I don't have to use my phone and Google Maps.  I love my Google, but I don't want to run down my phone battery!

The day before that, when I forgot to post again, I went and got my car washed, filled up with gas, and got my oil changed  They charged $10 more than last time and I wasn't very happy about that but I needed the oil change so I went ahead and got it.  I like keeping on top of any maintenance on my Goontz!

I meant to post last night. I got into a pretty intense writing spell and forgot. Sorry! I got my writing done and meant to post to my blog and then I left the computer and didn't post.  Oops.  I didn't have much to say yesterday anyway as I didn't even leave the house!  Today, my friend got off of work early and wanted me to ride with him to look at houses for sale. We did and he got us food at Biscuitville. I hadn't eaten there in ages and it was so good!  We looked at several houses before heading home.  

I had been home for a bit when I realized that I had an offer for 25 bonus stars for today only at Starbucks. I ran over there and got a peppermint white mocha and it was so good!  While I was out, I ordered a couple of the medium $5.99 pizzas from Dominos for pickup. Those were not 'so good'. They were actually pretty disappointing.  The last two times I got this exact same order, it was delicious.  They must have had an off night. Oh well! :(

While my friend and I were out earlier, we went to a local thrift store that I always forget about and never go to  We have a Salvation Army thrift store here.  I found a pair of new or at least they looked brand new capris. (All clothes half off today!)  I also found three ceramic jack o lanterns, some card stock for scrapbooks, a little mini backpack, and two packages of washi tape!  It's the brand that is only sold at Walmart and I will not shop at Walmart, so I was happy to see this. It's the washi that is actually individual flower petals.  It's so pretty!  I wanted to try some but not if I had to go to Walmart.  The little mini backpack is from the same line at Walmart.  Oh, I also got some adorable vinyl stickers too!  I also found something absolutely amazing.  My 'new' MacBook Pro that my friend got me had the original Apple charger, but not the extension cord.  I had been watching a few on eBay and was going to buy one eventually.  I looked over in this one bin with assorted electronics in the store and saw a white cord.  It had black paper/cardboard around it.  It was the extension cord I wanted! It was a whopping $2!  It retails at the Apple store for right at $20.  This is a legit Apple one too, I looked.  It must have come in someone's laptop box and they didn't use the extender.  I got a deal!  :)  I usually just plug the MBP in with the regular plug because I use it at my desk.  I like the extension cord if I want to move it around further. It will come in handy on beach trips as the power strip might not be as close as it is at home!  I love finds like that. It would also come in handy if I can ever go to Starbucks and sit inside again.  ^_^ Oh how I miss going to Starbucks, sitting, and staying for a few hours.  I looked in wistfully tonight as I drove out of the drive-thru.  

I hope to write a bit tonight.  I changed my blog layout back to the macaroons. I'll probably change it again tomorrow.  There is a new layout that Typepad has introduced and I'd like to use it but it's not customizable.  If I could change some things around, I'd love it.  Oh well! :)

I had to keep convincing myself that it was, in fact, Friday. It doesn't seem like a Friday at all!  Oh well, it is and here I am posting.  I got my Munzee stuff today.  I got five of the big game piece Munzees, a sheet of 50 generic Munzees, and a grab bag assortment of Munzees.  It was a good haul.  I can't wait to go out and play.  I was going to do that today, but plans got changed.

My friend texted and said we'd eat and then he had a few places he wanted to go if I wanted to tag along.  I did, so I did!  We ate and then we went looking at a few houses.  He is wanting to move from his house somewhere else and is just looking at different places. I wish him luck in his search. I really liked one of the places he looked at.  It was pretty neat.  As for my own house situation, it's still uncertain, but I can't do anything about it, so I'm going to try not to worry about it.

I went out yesterday evening and got another container for my washi.  I had been able to get everything in my old containers, but everything was crammed in there pretty tight. Now I have plenty of space and I can always add more washi. As if I need more! I also got a few more things I needed for the house.  I spent a lot more than I had planned!  I still don't know how I did that.  Too much stress, I guess.

Anyway. I hope to get out and Munzee again this weekend.  Perhaps I'll do it on Sunday again.  I have many new Munzees now so I want to go deploy them.  Hopefully it won't be too horribly hot.  At least I hope it won't be!  We'll see.  As for now, I'm going to sit back and relax until bed time.  I slept poorly last night and I'm hoping to make up for that tonight.

For the past few trips to Myrtle Beach, I have made a Beach bingo card in my bujo.  I did it again this year and I finished decorating it and filling it in today. All the washi I used was actually bought while at the beach!  I love the way it looks.  Here is my completed bingo board:

I used my Canon Ivy to print three pictures for the left page.  I think it turned out well!  I love all the blue.  The marks on the bingo board are a star stamper that I bought while at the beach and I just colored in the center to make them more visible.  I like it!

I found a surprise today while in my kitchen. I went to give a drink of water to the succulent that I have had for years.  It is blooming!  It has two pretty little flowers on it.   I took a picture of that too! ;p

I didn't know it would bloom because I have had it a very long time and it never has before.  It was a nice surprise. I hope it gets more blooms in the future.  I have had it in that window ever since I got it because it does so well there.  I am scared to move it anywhere else!

Well, we went out and went up to North Myrtle Beach.  We went to the Goodwill up there and my friend went to a pawn shop and a guitar store.  We also went to Tuesday Morning.  I got washi. (like I really need more!) and a few other things for journaling.  I spent $18 and I have no idea how. LOL

I only got a package of Scotch tape at Goodwill.  LOL, It was new in pack two-pack of scotch tape for .50 so I bought it!  I didn't get a chance to look at a lot of other stuff because the section I like to browse in was full of people.  I was about to lose my temper, so I left!

On the way back into Myrtle, we passed a Starbucks with a drive-thru that wasn't busy and my friend stopped so I could get a latte.  It was delicious, too!  They didn't have cascara syrup either, oh well.  The drink I got was pretty darn good.  Another freebie with stars! I took a picture of the tops of some tress outside the pawnshop while waiting.  I also took a picture of the ocean from the room when we got back.  It's calmed down quite a lot.

Well, I was trying to figure out how when I take the bed apart again that I can fix it for the last time!  I was thinking if I could find something to run across the bottom of the frame so that the box springs won't fall through.  I was thinking wooden slats or something of that sort. I was hoping I could find something to use on m property.  Well, I was working that out when my friend called.

He lives up the street. (His mom is my bestie). He wanted to bring back a book he borrowed back in the dark ages (lol) and I told him we could sit on the porch and for him to bring Cocoa!  He agreed and I got to spoil and love on Cocoa and see my little stinky too! lol

He stayed until well after my usual lunchtime, so I just skipped lunch and went right to dinner.  I had a snack in the afternoon, so it wasn't too bad.  I ate my last two pieces of pizza for my dinner. I'm sad it's gone, but it sure was good while it lasted!  

I received a package from Amazon today.  I ordered some washi and some pens. The pens are blue ballpoints and they have a very nice size tip and the ink it dark and beautiful.  It flows soooo well.  I love them.  They are Zebra Z grip Flight pens.  Very nice and a definite new favorite!  Now, let me tell you about the washi.  This is a brand I have bought before. I have bought a LOT of washi from this brand. It's some damn good quality washi.  It's usually a good value for the money, too.  Well..... I opened the envelope my stuff came in today and I thought there had to be a mistake.  The box that my washi came in was small enough to fit in my hand and it was a multi roll pack!  I took a few pictures to share:

The washi is absolutely gorgeous, I just wish there were more of it!  There are ten rolls in all.  Two really wide ones, four regular widths, two smaller widths, and two of the mini width.

Well, my friend said we might walk today and I was looking forward to that.  We didn't walk.  D'oh!  Oh well!  I did some crafting.  I made a folder for my Foxy Fix and I modified the one I made last night.  I now have two cute handmade folders.  Both were made from file folders.  I used washi on both and some scrapbook sheets on the other.  I think they turned out quite nicely.

Hello and Happy Halloween and a Blessed Samhain to you!  It did NOT feel like Halloween here today.  We were under weather warnings and it was in the low 80's!  It was a pretty weird day.  My friend called last night about me keeping the dogs this weekend and I had that on my mind as they would have come tonight.  I totally forgot my tradition of going to a cemetery on Halloween! :(  I realized it when it was too late to go.  I did go in my yard and collect some pretty fall leaves and pick up a few pecans.

My friend's mom is not going on the trip, so I am off the hook on pup sitting. Yay!  I love the pups, but NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow and I don't want any distractions!  I want to get into my story.  I also have to take down all my Halloween decorations. :(  I am going to miss them.  I have plenty I keep out year around, but these will be stored until next year.  I really should count all the items as I put them away and report in on how many I have.  I have a LOT of jack o lanterns.  I mean a LOT. lol

I got my first order today from Paper Issues.  They have some cute stuff and good prices, too!  I got a three pack of washi, a single roll of washi, and some colorful cardstock (for making TN insert covers).  The three pack of washi is pretty,  I bought it just for the striped washi, but I really like them all.  The single roll is so adorable! It's travel washi and it's just so damn cute!  I put all four in my bujo to take a picture to share.  I will be ordering from Paper Issues again.  Go check them out! Paper Issues

I finished the current puzzle today and all of  the pieces are there! Yay!  I also flipped it with no issues even though it was one of those that don't like to stay together well.  It's such a pretty picture, too!  That last bit at the bottom was slow going, but I got it done.

Today, I went ahead and took my window air conditioner out of the window.  I haven't had to use it in several days and I think I will be okay until the Spring.  I still have my fan in here.  It stays all year, so I always have a backup in case I need a little cool air.

I rearranged my desk area today too.  The desk sits in front of the window that the air conditioner is in.  I use the ledge of the window in the summer to put extra stuff on.  In the fall/winter, it doesn't work because the ledge is a lot smaller with the window down and the blinds in the way.  I really like how neat my desk looks. It's all ready for NaNoWriMo! Yay! 

Yesterday I mentioned the washi that got cancelled.  Well, after I posted to my blog, I went back on Etsy and found another roll that I liked.  It's not the same design, but it's cute.  I ordered it and it was sent today.  Well, she created the label today, so it might get sent Monday. lol

I got an unexpected win-fall.  What is weird, is I just saw something on Jetpens that I REALLY wanted but didn't have the money for.  Guess where I spent my money? :) . It was a payment from one of my survey sites and I didn't think I was going to get it.  I finished testing the stuff months ago and had figured it must not have been a payment included in testing the product.  Well, there was a payment and it came today.  I covered the item I wanted and an add on to it.  I was so happy! I'll share all that when it gets here.  For now, enjoy the puzzle.

So I was looking at someone's post last night where they ordered a set of Christmas washi.  I'm not a big fan of Christmas, but in the set there was a roll of Christmas light washi that was really cute!  I looked on Etsy and found a roll that I like and ordered it last night.  Of course I'll show it off when I get it. Well hell, never mind!  As I was typing this, I got an email from Etsy saying that may order had been cancelled!  The seller said she had a family emergency and had to cancel.  Darn! :(  

I got a good deal done on a new puzzle today.  I didn't get the whole sky part put in, but I will be able to fill that in easily tomorrow.  My eyes needed a break from it.  The sky is so pretty! 

I got my washi today and it's so pretty!  I also got my pen loop for my Leuchtturm.  My purse still hasn't shipped. Boo!  Here is some pictures of today's goodies:

The Starbucks cup didn't come in the mail. I went over there for that. :P . I played Starbucks for Life as I usually do. I won a bunch of stars and a I even won a free bakery item.  The coupon was running out today, so I went over there and got a cookie.  I also got a cascara latte while I was there.  They are almost out of cascara syrup.  Boo!  I'll miss it.  Hopefully they'd bring it back again.  

It wasn't sunny today, but it was warm.  It was around 60! It was pretty nice for walking.  I got in my walk and I was able to stop by the dollar store and get a few things I needed.  I also found a great smelling candle for .30!  It was in the holiday markdown stuff.  I wonder if they have any more. It smells so good. It's called Frosted Fir and smells like a fresh tree. 

I needed some tape, and I was hoping there would be some in the holiday markdown section, but no go. I got some in the regular section though, so that was okay.  I also got a package of copy paper as I was completely out.  Some of the pen pal letters I wrote last week were on green paper because I was out of my regular white sheets.

I didn't do much when I got home. I washed my hair and my bed linen. I've had a really bad headache, so doing other things was not an option.  I mainly just sat around. I played some Bingo on my iPad and watched The Simpsons on FXNow.  I love watching the episodes, but the commercials are driving me nuts.  They are mainly the same ones over and over and they are annoying as hell!  I just mute them when they come on!

Tomorrow, I should be receiving a pen loop for my Leuchtturm bullet journal and a new set of washi. It's from my favorite brand/company of washi. Molshine.  I love their washi.  This set is 10 rolls, I think.  It's so pretty from the pictures. The thing about their washi, is it's always better looking in person than in pictures. I love their washi!  I'll post pictures tomorrow.  

Oh! I also found another Fossil purse on ebay. ^^;;;;; I saw it, watched it, and then bought it all within five minutes. lol . I hope I love it in person as much as I did on the site.  That hasn't shipped yet, so I'm not sure when I'll get it.

I just hit 6538 at a word count!  Day three of NaNo and I'm already at 6500! Go me.  I actually could have written more tonight, but I have been gone and busy for most of the day so I have a few things I need to do before bed.  I figured where I stopped was a great place to stop for tonight.  I did that and then updated my count.  I got the email that I'd hit 5000 word badge. Yay!

I walked today and it was good to get back to it.  As I was coming back into my neighborhood, my friend pulled over and said, "Hop in, we are going to Starbucks!"   I told them I needed to go home first.  They told me to hop in and they'd carry me.  I said, nope, I'm going to finish my walk! LOL! I did and was able to use the bathroom and grab my purse.  I didn't really want to go to Starbucks right then, but I'm ALWAYS asking them to go so it would be hilarious if I said, nope! :P

We went and I got another caramel brulee.  So good!  My friend tried one too.  She said she liked it and then she didn't like it!  Sheesh!  Oh well, hers was a Venti and mine was a tall.  They were both holiday cups, so I got her to give me hers after she drank it. :p . I went to her house to see all her animals.  I had to love on Cocoa and I even got to see my favorite cat, the demon kitty! <3 . My friend I went to eat lunch together as we don't get to go do stuff together much.  She works until 6:30 on most days. When she has a day off, she is usually busy running errands for her mom, so today we were able to just go out and enjoy lunch.  We ate at one of the local Mexican restaurants.  It's one of my favorites.  I haven't been in ages.  My other friend, the one I go out and eat with all the time, doesn't like Mexican, Chinese, or other good ethnic food, so I was glad to go!  

I finally got home and then relaxed for a little bit.  Being around people stresses me out.  I got myself together and then wrote myself a list and went to the grocery store.  I got a lot of goodies, but not nearly as much as I wanted to.  My favorite frozen dinners were on sale.  Two for five dollars and if you buy two, you get one free.  So technically three for five.  I was planning on getting a LOT of them.  They had a total of three. ~_~; I got those though!  I also got creamer and then remembered I hadn't gotten coffee.  That wouldn't do!  The store went through a remodel a few months back and I still don't know where anything is. lol I totally missed the coffee on my first trip through.  It used to be on the very first aisle!  So, I got groceries, I brought them home and put them away.  I did a few things I needed to do.  I washed a ton of dishes and then ate some supper.  After that, I sat down to write.  I got over 2000 words written tonight so I was happy about that.  I just have my French to do online and then I will get off of here and get the other things done that need doing. ^_^
